A man has raised ยฃ20,000 to buy a fire engine for a town in Ukraine after vehicles there were diverted for the war effort.
Bob Frendt from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, delivered medical aid to the town of Volodymyr.
But after learning that people did not have fire trucks because of the war, the 73-year-old man came up with the idea of โโraising money to buy a new device.
When he bought the fire truck, a company in East Yorkshire donated a second vehicle to send to Ukraine.

Wendy Shay revealed that she suffered injuries in the accident, notably a nasal bone fracture and facial inflammation. Fortunately, she underwent medical evaluations, and her condition was improving. Additionally, she confirmed that her Personal Assistant, who was also in the car at the time of the accident, emerged unharmed.
Reflecting on the incident, she expressed, “It was a very big shock, no one saw this coming. For me to be here, it’s by God’s grace.”
Wendy Shay, in an unexpected statement, asserted that the incident was not a natural occurrence but rather a spiritual assault. She insisted that she knew who might have been behind the attack and that they were trying to pin the incident on her manager Bullet.
“Those who wanted to kill me, they know themselves, and they’re trying to put it on Bullet. It wasn’t Bullet. It wasn’t a normal attack. What I can say is that they know themselves, but I am not going to mention their names. But they can never kill me,” she stated.
To prove her claim, Wendy Shay questioned the circumstances of the accident, saying, “People were saying, ‘Oh, it’s the wrangler,’ but how can a big tipper truck loaded with rocks hit me, and the tipper truck somersaulted, and my car was rather intact?”
