A court in Moscow has given a journalist named Marina Ovsyannikova a prison sentence of 8. 5She protested on live television against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

India‘s agency for investigating financial crimes has searched the home of a member of parliament from the opposition party due to suspicions of corruption.
Sanjay Singh, a member of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, is the most recent party leader to be questioned by government agencies.
Officials are looking into a possible crime involving fraud that is connected to a recently canceled plan for selling alcohol in the state.
Delhi’s second-ranking minister, Manish Sisodia, was also taken into custody for the same incident in February.
The AAP has rejected the accusations and said that the BJP, which is in charge of the central government, is engaging in unfair political tactics.
The AAP is very sensitive on the topic of financial misconduct. They started as a big movement against corruption over 10 years ago.
The party often disagree with the BJP and wants to be seen as an important opposing group.
Authorities stated that they would also investigate other members of the AAP party who are connected to the situation.
Investigations started last August when India’s federal investigation agency CBI accused the Delhi government of showing favoritism towards specific liquor dealers who supposedly paid bribes. They later abandoned the plan.
According to the CBI’s investigation, the ED also filed a case under India’s money laundering law. In February, the CBI took into custody former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia for his involvement in the case. Despite denying the accusation, he is still being held in jail.
Mr Singh has not given any opinions about the raids that happened on Wednesday, but his party is sure that they won’t find anything.
“The ED raid happened because Sanjay Singh spoke out about the Adani problem and the illegal money invested in his company,” said Reena Gupta, spokesperson of AAP. They didn’t find anything before, and they won’t find anything today. We are not scared.
Ms Gupta talked about a report by an American investment company called Hindenburg Research. The report accused the Adani Group of cheating with their stocks and manipulating their accounting for many years. However, the group says that the accusation is not true.

His lawyers stated that he will challenge the decision made by the military court.
This is the most deaths that happened during a crackdown on protests against the UN peacekeepers in eastern DR Congo.
The people protesting wanted the UN soldiers to leave because they believed that the soldiers were not doing a good job of keeping innocent civilians safe from rebel groups who have been attacking for many years.
The United Nations has nearly 18,000 people working in the country. This includes over 12,000 soldiers, which makes it the second-biggest UN mission in the world.
The August protests were planned by a group called Wazalendo (Patriots), who are Christians. They wanted the UN troops to leave the area.

In a media engagement,, Nkrumah emphasized the government’s responsibility to provide coverage for certain aspects of treatment, as the financial burden on kidney patients is becoming increasingly overwhelming.

“The government is waiting on the management of Korle Bu to complete its internal work and come forward with what its position is. To achieve that, we need to take a lot more seriously the financing of the NHIS Fund to take up incidents like this. “But as in every case condition, we have so many people knocking on the door of NHIA to include almost everything onto the package and what is most important is always to measure the requests and demands of the scheme with the available resources that can enable this to happen.
“As we’re hearing, the dialysis treatment is quite expensive. If NHIA has to consider that, a lot of actuarial study would have to be carried out to see whether the scheme will be sustainable if we take it on board. But that being said if the patients present with acute renal failure for instance, the scheme covers that and pays for that.
“It’s only those who are on chronic diseases, kidney failures, those are the ones that are excluded for now and I’m sure conversations will be going on to see what can be done going forward,” he said.
