On Tuesday, a bus in Montenegro went off the road and fell into a deep valley, causing the death of two people, including a person from Britain. Nine other people were also seriously hurt in the accident.
The local police reported that a bus belonging to Papović Bus company fell off the main road and went down a 20-meter deep cliff around 12:10 pm local time.
The bus with 30 people crashed into a barrier on the side of the road in Obzovica, in the hilly area of Cetinje. After crashing, it went forward for about 15 meters before breaking through the barrier.
One person on the radio said, “I was listening to music and everything was fine. ” Then, out of nowhere, people started screaming and there was the noise of glass breaking.
The police announced at 2pm on X, previously called Twitter, that two individuals passed away at the place.
A newspaper in Montenegro called DAN said they talked about a British man who is 66 years old and a 19-year-old person from Montenegro’s capital, Podgorica.
LB, who is 29 years old and from Ukraine, SK, who is 20 years old and from Podgorica, and NO, who is 25 years old and from Tivat, all experienced severe injuries and were quickly taken to the orthopaedic unit of a nearby hospital. Additionally, a 72-year-old individual named LDK also sustained serious injuries and was brought to the same hospital ward.
AS, a 33-year-old person from Ukraine, is currently receiving medical care in the intensive care unit at the Clinical Center of Montenegro. JTK, who is from Britain, has been taken to the emergency department at the same hospital.
At least 16 other passengers, who were tourists, got minor injuries. Some of them were a 25-year-old person from Britain, a 48-year-old person from Russia, a 38-year-old person from Japan, two people from Poland, and two people from Sweden.
Only three people were not harmed in the accident.
The police have accused a bus driver named NS, who is 36 years old and from Nikšić, of breaking the rules for driving safely on the road.
The person who was driving says that they passed out while they were driving, according to the Montenegrin newspaper Vijesti.
The person with a neurological condition got badly hurt and had to stay at the hospital’s neurosurgical department overnight in the city.
Lawyer Anđa Radovanović wants the driver’s blood and pee to be checked for alcohol and drugs.
The bus was driving its usual path to the village of Budva, which is about nine miles west of Obzovica. It was coming from the town of Cetinje when it had an accident.
Pictures from the area showed several of the 42 rescue workers using tools to lift the bus out of the deep valley.
A firefighter said that people from nearby towns assisted with the rescue operation.

Man fined after going out with his pet snake for fun in Australia
A surfer who made people laugh with his pet snake on his surfboard has been given a penalty.
Higor Fiuza, a person from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, was spotted in Rainbow Bay multiple times with his pet snake named Shiva. They were seen together at least 10 times.
He said to Nine News: ‘She goes swimming for a bit and then returns to the surfboard – she’s just casually waiting for a wave – for the perfect wave.
She goes underwater and comes back up. She is always there, and I don’t have to save her.

East Legon couple defrauds businessman who paid GHC1.7m to purchase a house
The Accra Circuit Court has remanded a husband and wife, Vera Nartey, also known as Akosua Kyerewah, and Nosah Ekhator, into lawfully custody to await sentencing.
The court, presided over by Mr. Samuel Bright Acquah, remanded the married couple after having found them guilty of conspiracy to commit a crime, and defrauding by false pretences.
The duo are residents of East Legon and were into business.
They were found guilty of defrauding an Adenta based businessman, Godwin Kwame Avadu Donkor, off US$290,000.00 under the false pretence of selling the latter landed property.
Mr. Acquah deferred the couple’s sentence to October 2.
Vera and her husband have been on GH¢1.5 million bail each with three sureties, one of who to be justified and the others civil servants earning not less than GH¢2,000.00 each.
They were granted bail on October 14, after having pleases not guilty to the charges.
Brief facts
The court was told by Chief Inspector Daniel Danku that on or before January 2022, Mr. Donkor, the complainant, needed a house to buy for his family and got in contact with the couple.
The convicts told the complainant that, they had a four-bedroom storey building at East Legon, being offered for sale at US$290,000.00.
Within the same period, the convicts took the complainant to East Legon and showed him the apartment which they were offering for sale.
The complainant, after inspection the building, became interested and bargain with the convicts.
On January 28, 2022, the complainant paid an amount of GH¢1,663,200.00 to the convicts.
Meanwhile, after the payment, the convicts failed to carry out their promise and re-sold the same apartment to one Emmanuel.
The complainant became alarmed and on October 2, 2022, reported the matter to the police for investigation.
On October 3, 2022, the convicts were arrested and on caution, they both admitted receiving GH¢1,663,200.00 from the complainant.
The convicts promised to refund the complainant’s money to him, but failed.

Beijing commands HK consulates to provide information about local staff
Beijing has asked foreign consulates in Hong Kong to give them information about the local employees they have hired.
According to local news, the Foreign Ministry in China’s city has requested that the data be handed in by 18 October.
These rules affect all the people who work for foreign embassies in the city, whether they live there permanently or temporarily.
The change would make sure that the laws in Hong Kong are the same as those in the rest of the country.
Hong Kong is a place in China that has some independence since it stopped being ruled by Britain in 1997.
However, after a series of large protests in 2019, the Chinese government gained more power over the city by implementing a very strict law that made it illegal to express opinions against them.
The law makes it illegal to work together with foreign governments.
The rule to get vaccinated was already there for Chinese employees of foreign embassies and consulates in mainland China. But it is believed that this is the first time this rule is being applied in Hong Kong.
The Chinese authorities need certain information from the staff, such as their job titles, where they live, and their identity card numbers.
According to the local media, Consulates have been told to provide personal information of new employees within 15 days of their start date.
The letter said that the collected data could be given to other authorities to help them manage the local staff.

The people’s loved ones and friends waved small American flags as they left the airplane.
“The bad dream is finally finished,” a family member of Siamak Namazi, one of the released Americans, said. “We haven’t experienced this moment in more than eight years. ” This is amazing.
“It is the start of a very long journey towards getting better and feeling better,” a spokesperson for the family said.
Also, there were two family members, Roger Carstens and Abram Paley, on the plane. Roger Carstens is a US presidential representative and Abram Paley is a deputy representative for Iran. Both of them saw the people who were released from detention in Doha.
During a speech at Fort Belvoir, Mr. Carstens told the former detainees to use the help that the US military is giving them after leaving isolation. He said that he believes they will keep fighting to bring more Americans back home.

The Hague to host cross-border homicide investigation team

Ms Ibram, who came from Romania, was killed by being stabbed multiple times in the neck, face, and stomach. The police said it was a very violent and chaotic attack.
Mr Shamel is a person from Afghanistan who lives on Cecil Street in Limerick. He was caught by the police in the Malone area of south Belfast.
He was accused of killing Ms Ibram based on a law that lets officials in Northern Ireland punish someone who came from a different area.
There was a meeting in The Hague.
On Tuesday, the person who is being accused appeared in court through video connection. A lawyer who is representing the prosecution revealed new information about their ongoing communication with the Department of Justice in Dublin.
“A group of different agencies from both areas has come together to form a team that will investigate together in order to try to make things go faster,” she explained.
District Judge Steven Keown was also informed that the process will be taken to the Dutch city where the International Criminal Court is located.
“The prosecutor said that there was a meeting planned in The Hague, but it hasn’t happened yet. ”

Mohbad’s father explains reason for burying him early
The father of the Nigerian musician Mohbad has finally provided an explanation for the hasty burial of his son.
Following Mohbad’s untimely death, which occurred a few days prior, social media was flooded with videos of his burial, prompting some individuals to question the authenticity of the reports.
Mr. Joseph Aloba, who serves as a pastor, has conducted a series of interviews to address these concerns and confirm the reality of his son’s burial.
He affirmed that Mohbad had indeed been laid to rest, and the decision to do so promptly was deliberate. In accordance with Yoruba cultural traditions, the father explained that when someone passes away at a young age, it is customary to conduct an early burial.
Therefore, the family opted to adhere to this cultural practice by arranging for Mohbad’s burial shortly after his unfortunate demise.
He said: “In Yoruba land, his corpse is not the kind to be kept when both of his parents are still alive. Assuming he died at an older age, we might have considered putting his body in the mortuary and taking it at a later date. That same night we took him away from there and buried him where we did.”
His father explained that he was buried on the yam farm because it was the only piece of land his son owned and it was the only place he could think of to bury him because he originally gave it to him for a church.
“That land where Mohbad was buried is his only land, that’s the only land I know him to have owned. Truly he gave me the land to build my church because we had both agreed to build the church there, and since that’s the only land I knew him to have…” he noted.

Azerbaijan launches counter offensive attack on Karabakh
Azerbaijan’s military is conducting “anti-terror” operations in parts of Nagorno-Karabakh that are controlled by Armenia.
For many months, there has been a lot of conflict and disagreement about a region called the ethnic-Armenian enclave. This region is officially considered a part of Azerbaijan by the global community.
Loud noise from air raid sirens and exploding bombs could be heard in the largest city of Karabakh.
Eleven people from Azerbaijan, including both police officers and regular citizens, have died in a mine explosion and another separate incident.
Officials in the breakaway region’s defense department mentioned that the Azerbaijani military broke the ceasefire by launching missile and artillery attacks all along the contact line. Other representatives from Karabakh talked about a big and intense military attack.
The countries Azerbaijan and Armenia have fought two times over Nagorno-Karabakh. The first time was in the early 1990s when the Soviet Union collapsed, and the second time was in 2020.
Three years ago, Azerbaijan took back areas in and around Karabakh from Armenia that were under Armenian control since 1994.
Since December, Azerbaijan has blocked the only way into the enclave from Armenia, called the Lachin Corridor, and it has been successful.
On Tuesday, the Defense Ministry in Baku accused Armenian forces of continuously attacking its army positions and mentioned that it retaliated by carrying out smaller operations to fight against terrorists locally. To remove weapons and make sure Armenia’s armed forces leave our land safely.
It said it was not trying to hurt innocent people or buildings where regular people live. It claimed that it only attacked specific military targets using very accurate weapons.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke on TV and said his military was not involved. He accused Azerbaijan of attacking to get rid of the Armenian people in Karabakh.
On Tuesday, people in the city of Khankendi, also known as Stepanakert, could hear the loud noise of artillery and gunfire.

Azerbaijan said they are not increasing the number of soldiers in the area. On Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross was given permission to bring help to Karabakh using two routes. One route is through the Lachin Corridor from Armenia, and the other is through Azerbaijan’s Aghdam road.
People were hoping that tensions would calm down, but then officials from Azerbaijan said that six individuals died, including four police officers, when their vehicle hit a landmine in the Khojavand area. This area was taken back by Azerbaijan during the war in 2020.
The military department showed pictures of the wrecked car, but Armenian officials in Karabakh said it was Azerbaijan’s military that broke the ceasefire.
