The oldest son of former President Donald Trump said he did not help with the financial papers that are causing problems for the family’s property business in a court case about fraud.
Donald Trump Jr, who is 45 years old, seemed calm and laid back in court in New York City. He made some funny remarks and insisted that he had not done anything wrong.
His brother and sister, Ivanka and Eric Trump, are going to give testimony soon.
The judge has already said that the Trump Organization made its wealth seem bigger than it really was and lied about its business records.
The court case will decide what punishment should be given. Letitia James, who is in charge of the legal affairs in New York and belongs to the Democratic Party, wants to punish the former president with a fine of $250 million and prevent him from carrying out any business activities in New York.
Donald Trump Jr is the first of Donald Trump‘s children to provide information in this legal matter. Earlier this week, he went on the conservative Newsmax network and said that the trial was a fake and unfair court.
He and Eric Trump are both being sued together with their father. The two brothers have important positions at the Trump Organization.
Mr Trump Jr, wearing a blue suit and a bright pink tie, answered questions for a little more than an hour. His statement will continue on Thursday.
He started his presentation by talking about Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), which are the rules and guidelines businesses follow to keep their financial records accurate.
Mr admitted that he didn’t know much about GAAP, except for some things he remembered from his college business classes.
When the state attorney asked him about his understanding of the topic, he made the courtroom laugh by saying, “I don’t understand anything. ”
“I let my accountants handle it,” Mr.
During the trial, Mr. Trump Jr apologized to the judge because he was talking too fast for the court stenographer to type everything accurately.
“I’m sorry, Your Honour, I moved to Florida, but I continued to live at the fast pace of New York,” he said jokingly.
He said in court that he had done “every single thing” while working for the family business. He’s not an accountant, though.
Mrsaid that his position in the company became more important after his father, who is a Republican and the president of the United States, was elected.
“He said that we no longer informed my father about the business decisions. ”
Both of Trump’s brothers were appointed as trustees of the company when their father became president in 2017, in order to prevent any conflicts of interest.
On Wednesday, someone asked Mr. Trump Jr if he had approved his father’s “statement of financial condition. ” He responded by saying that he did not remember doing so.
The afternoon in court was mostly quiet, but there were a few intense arguments between Mr. Trump’s lawyers and the New York attorney general’s team towards the end of questioning.
The lawyers asked Mr. Trump Jr if he helped make the company’s financial papers.
He mentioned that he depended on others to “create a document like this”.
The accountants were doing it. “He said that is exactly why we gave them money. ” Mrinformed the court that the responsibility for the task was with Allen Weisselberg, a long-serving finance chief. Weisselberg had been charged in this case and admitted his guilt last year for committing tax crimes.
“I had to listen to the people who knew a lot about those things,” he said, and he trusted Weisselberg and his accounting team.
Judge Arthur Engoron, a Democrat from New York, is overseeing the trial and has already determined that Mr Trump is responsible for exaggerating his assets in order to obtain loans that were advantageous to him.
A short time before his son was going to speak in court, Mr. Trump posted on his Truth Social account: “Stop bothering my kids, Engoron. ” You bring shame to the job of being a lawyer.
Last week, the judge gave a penalty to the former president for breaking a rule twice. The penalty was $15,000 because he talked about a court worker when he wasn’t supposed to.
At first, Ivanka Trump was named as one of the people being accused in the case. However, she was later taken off the list and made to testify as a witness instead.
On Wednesday, Ms. Trump’s lawyers asked for the order to testify to be changed. She is supposed to testify on 8 November.
The person who used to be the president and is currently the top contender to be the Republican choice for president in 2024, is expected to give evidence on Monday.
Last week, he went to court to see his old lawyer Michael Cohen testify. Cohen said that one of his jobs at the Trump Organization was to increase the value of assets by using a number chosen randomly by Mr.
MrTrump is currently dealing with four criminal trials. These include cases in Georgia and Washington DC where he is being accused of trying to change the outcome of the 2020 election that he lost.
Former Black Stars captain and businessman Asamoah Gyan has stated that he has no regrets about marrying his now-estranged wife, Gifty Gyan.
In a recent interview, Gyan explained that the decision to propose and marry his ex-wife was his own choice.
He emphasized his commitment to being a family man and providing for his children, expressing his desire to avoid unnecessary conflicts in light of the court’s annulment of his marriage.
”I don’t regret it because I chose to marry her. During our marriage, many things emerged, but I didn’t want to talk about them.
I discovered certain things that prompted me to proceed to court to annul the marriage. After five years of investigations, the court established that I was right and ended the marriage,” he said.

Donald Trump‘s two sons wore identical outfits when they went to court to give evidence in a case about cheating people in business. This case could harm their family’s business. But their behavior on the witness stand was very different.
Even Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump had matching pale blue ties.
The accounts given by the two brothers were very different from each other. Their public images are closely connected to their father’s business and political projects, but their personalities and reputations have developed in very different ways.
Donald Trump Jr, the oldest son, tried to continue being confident and funny on his second day of testifying.
He kept saying he didn’t know or have anything to do with the accounting practices that went against what the New York state attorney general wanted – even though he was in charge of the company and responsible for his father’s trust.
“He said to do it again,” he replied after being asked the same questions over and over by the state’s attorney Colleen Faherty.
He seemed to flirt with the artists in the courtroom during a break in the morning.
“He playfully asked one of them to make him appear attractive. ”
He is mostly recognized for being a great supporter in political campaigns, sometimes copying his father’s way of speaking.
He said similar things as Donald Trump Sr did about the investigation, but in a more polished way. “Regrettably, the attorney general has started a case that is solely a political attack,” he informed journalists.
Eric Trump was more careful and cautious when he started providing evidence on Thursday morning.
While his brother is in charge of politics, Eric Trump is mainly known for his involvement in the family business.
No funny or sarcastic remarks were made by the person testifying when Eric Trump was speaking. His brother was not as anxious as him when asking questions.
Eric Trump initially said he didn’t know or have anything to do with the fake financial reports that the attorney general claimed were exaggerated. However, he later received emails that mentioned these documents.
The attorney general’s office revealed an email from 2013. The email was sent by an employee to Eric Trump. In the email, the employee requested information about financial statements.
During a very intense conversation, Andrew Amer, a lawyer working for the attorney general’s office, interrogated Eric Trump about his understanding of his father’s financial records.
Getting irritated, Eric answered: “We are a big company, a huge real estate company – and yes, I’m quite certain that I know we have financial documents. ” Yes
He later said, “I didn’t have anything to do with it and I never worked on my dad’s financial statement. ”
Unlike his brother, Eric Trump did not socialize with the court staff during the breaks. Instead, he stood in front of the table where the defense sits. He kept moving his weight from one foot to the other while waiting for the judge to come back.
Although the brothers are different, their destinies are connected.
They both work as executive vice-presidents at their father’s business company, the Trump Organization.
Both of them are now mentioned in a lawsuit by the New York attorney general. The lawsuit accuses the business of committing lots of fraud.
Both companies could possibly be barred from doing business in New York if a judge rules against them.
Donald Trump, the man they are said to have done all this for, was not present in court on Thursday, even though he had attended court before.
But he did post a supportive message on his Truth Social account.
“I feel really upset,” he wrote, “to see my sons being treated unfairly. “
Veteran musician Mzbel is of the view that a significant number of Ghanaians view rich African traditions and culture as idolatrous practices, which has deterred them from participating in these cultural aspects.
“Many Ghanaians see issues of our culture and traditions as something relating to idolatry so they don’t involve themselves but I really like it,” she remarked.
Speaking on Property FM with Amansan Krakye, the singer said involving herself in issues of our traditional heritage has benefited her immensely.
MzbeL said “I feel that you have to be proud of where you come from and I’m a Ghanaian because my mother comes from Somnaya, my Dad is from Mankessim but I was born in James Town.
“I grew up in Accra so I feel that our traditional heritage is who I am and I can’t adopt what belongs to some other people.
“And when I involve myself in our tradition and things that relate with our culture it helps me a lot and it’s very beneficial,” she added.
“When you learn about our tradition and culture you’d realize that it is very rich and it’s something that can help the whole country if we focus our minds on it”.

Almost 100 people from Britain have been given permission to leave Gaza and go to Egypt on Friday.
The Palestinian border authority has a list of approved foreigners in the UK. There are 127 people on this list, and 92 of them are British citizens.
Out of the remaining 35 names, most of them are Palestinians. There are two people who are listed as dependents from Ireland, and one woman from Morocco.
Around 200 people from the United Kingdom are thought to be in Gaza.
We are not sure yet if the Rafah border will be open on Friday. However, on Wednesday, some people from other countries and Palestinians who are injured started to be allowed to leave Gaza and go to Egypt through the crossing.
A few British people have already left along with many other foreigners leaving Gaza this week.
Since 7 October, the border crossings in and out of Gaza have been shut down. This happened because Hamas, a terrorist organization banned in the UK, attacked Israel. They caused the death of over 1,400 individuals and held 240 people as hostages.
After that, the Israeli army has carried out a very large bombing attack on Gaza, isolated the area completely, and just now started a ground attack on the northern part of Gaza. The health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, says that over 9,000 individuals have lost their lives.
On Friday, the security minister, Tom Tugendhat, stated that the British government is being careful in providing an exact count of the number of people who can be rescued. This is because they do not have control over the border or the situation inside Gaza.
“What we want to avoid is giving people unrealistic expectations that they will be able to cross today,” he said during an interview on BBC Breakfast.
Mr Tugendhat said that there is a list of people who have been given permission to leave Gaza quickly. The Egyptian and Israeli governments have agreed to this.
He said that the UK government has approved the list to include British citizens, as well as dependent or entitled individuals.
The UK has sent a group of Border Force members to Cairo and consular officials to Arish, close to Rafah. They are there to help UK citizens who have left Gaza.
Dr Abdel Hammad, a surgeon from Liverpool, was able to leave through the Rafah crossing into Egypt on Thursday, according to his family.
The UK government said that two aid workers from the UK successfully crossed the border into Gaza through a crossing called Rafah. This crossing is not under the control of Israel.
The Foreign Office stated on Thursday that some people from the UK were able to cross the border between Gaza and Egypt. However, they didn’t give any information about the exact number.
A person with citizenship in both the UK and the US, who was in Gaza with her family, said that her British-Palestinian husband was allowed to cross the border because he was with his family and on the list of US citizens who could leave.
Dr Emilee Rauschenberger, a teacher who lives in Salford, said that things are very disordered and confusing in Rafah. Many people are finding it difficult to travel to the southern part of Gaza because they don’t have cars or any other means of transportation.
She said on BBC Radio 4’s Today show on Friday that there was no way to separate people who could leave from those who wanted to but couldn’t, causing a lot of stress.
After waiting for a long time on the Gazan side of the border, the family successfully entered Egypt. In Egypt, they received food, water, and medical attention.
Dr Rauschenberger was informed by the British embassy in Egypt that approximately 10 British citizens, who she believes are employed by aid agencies or other international organizations, also crossed over on Thursday.
The UK government has shared a list with the Israeli and Egyptian authorities. This list includes British citizens and their family members and is organized based on their medical vulnerability.
Dr Ahmed Abou Foul, who works in Birmingham, said that 16 of his family members are in the process of trying to leave Gaza. This includes eight children.
He feels both good and bad about the news because his two young nieces and their moms cannot go since their names are not on the list.
Dr Abou Foul said on BBC Breakfast that his family is puzzled about why they were not included, despite being promised by the Foreign Office.

The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) mistress, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann has candidly expressed that the dissolution of her marriage ranks among her most significant life disappointments.
During an interview on Starr FM on November 2, 2023, she acknowledged that many individuals enter into marriage with the expectation of it being a lifelong commitment, but her experience deviated from this ideal.
“When you get married, you’re expected to stay in it for life, right? So, I consider the breakup of a marriage one of my biggest failures in life because I went in there for life and life happened,” she said.
The Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences for the University of Ghana offered advice to young women preparing for marriage stating: “First of all, you need to make wise choices and understand what you are getting into before you even get there and so know that human beings are not static.
“So, you don’t get married based on what you see at that time, note that you are going to be growing, the person may or may not grow so find somebody you can grow with,” she added.
Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei expressed his hope that New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president, will win on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Prince David Osei expressed his belief on Thursday on Instagram that Dr. Bawumia is the most worthy candidate to lead the NPP into the Ghanaian general elections in 2024. He addressed the recent upsurge in critical remarks and scepticism regarding Dr. Bawumia’s suitability as the NPP’s nominee in his post.
He wrote, “I have observed that there is a significant amount of negative comments circulating online regarding the selection of H.E. Dr. Bawumia as the flag bearer of NPP. I find it puzzling that these people express their doubts about his suitability to become president in 2024, yet they are so concerned and attacking him relentlessly. The responsibility to choose a leader lies solely with the delegates and electorate, so this reaction seems unwarranted.”
Prince David Osei went on to suggest that the criticisms and doubts surrounding Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy are indicative of a fear of his potential.
He acknowledged that despite the slanderous comments, he firmly believes that Dr Bawumia is the most deserving candidate to lead the NPP at this time.
“I have faith that victory is assured for Dr Bawumia on November 4th,” he declared.
He concluded by saying, “Forget the noise wai vote No 2 discerning delegates even an ex-president wants to come back to rule Ghana!! So?? 2 sure #itispossible NB: Your insults and trolls won’t change the outcome, please feel free to vent your anger and frustrations devoid of insults .”
rince David Osei’s public expression of support for Dr. Bawumia has become a subject of interest on social media, particularly in the context of the ongoing political discussions as Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections. The NPP primary scheduled for November 4 holds substantial importance in determining the party’s leadership and influencing its strategy for the upcoming general elections

Hiplife artist and political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus, has made it clear that he has no plans to make a return to the music industry. During an interview at an event hosted by the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, for the creative industry, A Plus revealed that he has shifted his focus to new interests and endeavors.
He firmly stated, “I’m done,” but hilariously added, “at this point, I call myself an emotional musician. It depends on what happens. Maybe something will come up.”
When asked about his decision to study law, the former musician, who has now ventured into politics, explained that he aimed to gain a better understanding of the law to make informed decisions.
He emphasized the importance of avoiding making statements without a solid grasp of the legal aspects involved, given the errors that can result from limited legal knowledge.
“I’ve had interest in understanding the law. You know I am very vocal. I don’t want to be saying things that I don’t understand.
“Honestly, we have made so many mistakes because of our limited understanding of the law, and once you get in there you understand why certain things happen in a certain way,” he explained.
A Plus’s statement about not returning to the music industry has emerged during ongoing discussions regarding the role of pundits in the growth of Ghana’s entertainment sector. Notably, pundits on the United Showbiz show, including A Plus, have recently faced criticism from music figures and politically aligned individuals.
A Plus, known for his politically themed songs, has also revealed his intention to run for the Gomoa Central Parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections. In recent years, he left the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to establish The People’s Project (TPP), a non-partisan organization dedicated to advocating for public interests.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formed a three-member committee to oversee its presidential election scheduled for November 4 in each of the 275 constituencies. The committee will consist of the Chairman of the Council of Elders, the Chairman of the Constituency Patrons, and the Constituency IT Coordinator, who will serve as the secretary.
The primary responsibilities of these committees include ensuring the smooth conduct of the election, collaborating with the Electoral Commission and the police for security, and upholding transparency and fairness throughout the process.
Additionally, regional monitoring teams have been established to oversee and coordinate the electoral process in their respective regions.
Below is the NPP’s full statement.
The Presidential Election Committee of the New Patriotic Party is pleased to appoint a three-member committee to supervise the November 4, 2023, Presidential Elections in their respective constituencies on our behalf:
1. Chairman, Chairman of the Council of Elders
2. Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Constituency Patrons
3. Secretary, Constituency IT Coordinator
In addition, in collaboration with the Electoral Commission and the police, the committee will also be responsible for the verification and authentication of the names of delegates during the electoral process in their respective constituencies.
The Elections Committee has also constituted a Regional Monitoring Team for each region to coordinate and supervise the entire electoral process in their respective regions.
All issues pertaining to the elections should be reported immediately to the presidential elections committee.
At this crucial time, we will rely on the unwavering support and cooperation of all stakeholders involved in this important exercise.
The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has warned that any presidential aspirant who attempts to bribe delegates during the upcoming primaries will face consequences.
He emphasized that this strict stance is essential to maintain a fair and transparent election process on November 4. Security personnel will be ready to take action against party officials found attempting to induce or bribe delegates.
This is an effort to uphold the integrity of the party’s internal processes and ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.
“If it (inducement) happens within the perimeters where we are going to have the elections, definitely the police will arrest anyone who tries to induce anyone to vote for him.
“Anyone who makes an attempt to take a photo in the ballot box or show his ballot paper will also be arrested by the police.”
He stressed that although it will be ridiculous for any aspirant to bribe the over two hundred thousand delegates expected to cast their votes, inducement or any form of vote buying will not be tolerated.
Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong assured that the election outcome will be based on merit.
“I believe the elections on Saturday will be determined based on merits and how aspirants have been able to sell their message to the delegates.
“For us as a political party together with the committee our focus is to make sure we have a successful and transparent election.
“In matters of strategies and how an aspirant will run his campaign, we leave it to them. They have to decide which strategy they are going to use but I can assure you money will not determine who will win the election on Saturday,” he added.
The upcoming NPP presidential election, set for Saturday, November 4, 2023, will see a significant number of delegates participating, with a total of 203,439 delegates expected to cast their votes.
This election will determine the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections and is set to take place in various constituencies across all 16 regions of Ghana.
The contest includes notable figures such as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, and former MP for Mampong Francis Addai-Nimoh.
It’s worth noting that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a former Minister of Trade and Industry, has resigned from the party and declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate.
The Institute of Research Innovation & Development at Kumasi Technical University has conducted a poll suggesting that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the frontrunner in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race.
According to the poll, Dr. Bawumia is likely to secure an overwhelming victory in eight regions, increasing his chances of success in the NPP presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, November 4.
The race is expected to be closely contested, with Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong considered one of Dr. Bawumia’s top contenders. Many researchers have also tipped Dr. Bawumia as the leading candidate in the race.
The Institute of Research Innovation & Development at Kumasi Technical University engaged 15,595 NPP delegates in its poll to assess the upcoming flagbearer race. The research considered key components such as who is the most unifying, who exhibits the most visible leadership qualities, and who is most likely to break the “8” (an expression related to the NPP’s eight-year term in government). Non-policy factors like religion and ethnicity were also taken into account.
According to the poll, 71.1% of respondents believe that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has a higher chance of breaking the “8,” while 26.8% favored Kennedy Agyapong. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai Nimo received 1.8% and 0.3% support, respectively.
In terms of being the most unifying, 69.9% of respondents described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the most unifying candidate, while 19.4% considered Kennedy Agyapong to be the most unifying. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto had 8.5% support in this category, while Francis Addai Nimo received 2.2%.
Regarding the aspirant with the most visible leadership qualities, the poll found that 70.5% of the delegates considered Dr. Bawumia to have the most visible leadership qualities, while 19.4% mentioned Mr. Kennedy Agyapong. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Addai Nimo received 8.1% and 2.0% support, respectively in this category.
When asked about the influence of religion or ethnicity on their voting decisions, 13.4% of the delegates said they would consider religion, while 86.4% stated that they would not. In terms of ethnicity, 13.8% of the delegates said they would strongly consider it, while 86.2% indicated that they would not take one’s ethnic background into account when voting.
Additionally, 97.1% of the delegates noted that they would consider the past record of each aspirant before casting their votes, while 2.9% stated that they would not factor in the candidates’ past records.
According to Prof. Smart Sarpong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is significantly ahead in eight regions, with an average support of 81.9%. These regions are North East, Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Ashanti, Bono, Eastern, and Volta.
The poll suggests that the election will be competitive in five regions, as none of the aspirants currently has a decisive lead. However, the dynamics could change based on the efforts the aspirants put in during the final days leading up to the election.
“It is 50/50 for any aspirant who works extra harder. Those 5 regions include the Western region, Savannah region, BonoEast region, the party headquarters, and Western North.”
The research also showed that Mr. Kennedy Agyapong could have a clear lead in four other regions if he works harder, as he is leading with an average of 49.6%.
“The following regions have the potential of going for Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong. They are likely going to go for him. It doesn’t mean he should go to sleep on them. He should try and consolidate whatever gains he has in these four regions. So, Hon. Ken and the team, Oti region, Greater Accra region, Central region, and Ahafo region.”
Reacting to the latest poll, the spokesperson of the Kennedy Agyapong campaign team in the Ashanti region, William Kusi, insists that despite the research stating that their candidate is not strong enough in the Ashanti region, their own poll states otherwise.
“Our candidate, for instance, has combed the whole country, and we as a campaign team have also done a lot of work, especially in the Ashanti region. We have heard of the sponsored polls that have come out and are giving Dr. Bawumia the lead, but we disagree because on the ground, we are far ahead.
For instance, our internal polls suggest that we are going to have 75-80 percent support in the Ashanti region. So, when I heard of the polls from the one who always fails, Ben Ephson, for instance, I was like, what is happening? Smart Sarpong at the regional level did so well with his polls. It was accurate, but he is getting it wrong this time,” he said.
To get rid of bed bugs, you’ll need to take a systematic and comprehensive approach. Here are the steps to help you eliminate bed bugs from your home:
Identify the Problem:
Confirm the presence of bed bugs by checking for signs like itchy bites, bloodstains on bedding, or small reddish-brown bugs.
Inspect your mattress, bed frame, furniture, and cracks and crevices in the room for live bugs, shed skins, and eggs.
Isolate Infested Items:
Separate infested bedding, clothing, and other items to prevent the bugs from spreading to other areas.
Wash and Dry:
Launder infested bedding and clothing in hot water (at least 120°F or 49°C) and then dry them on high heat for at least 30 minutes.
Vacuum Thoroughly:
Vacuum the entire room, including the mattress, box spring, and surrounding areas.
Dispose of the vacuum bag or clean the vacuum thoroughly to prevent the bugs from escaping.
Use Bed Bug Encasements:
Encase your mattress and box spring with special bed bug-proof encasements to trap the bugs and prevent them from hiding in these areas.
Steam Treatment:
Use a steam cleaner with a high-temperature setting to kill bed bugs on the mattress, in cracks, and along baseboards.
Diatomaceous Earth:
Apply food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE) in cracks, crevices, and hiding spots. DE is a natural desiccant that dehydrates and kills bed bugs.
Chemical Treatment:
If the infestation is severe, consider using a bed bug insecticide. Always follow the label instructions and consider consulting a pest control professional.
Seal Cracks and Crevices:
Use caulk to seal any cracks, crevices, and gaps in walls, baseboards, and furniture where bed bugs can hide.
Declutter:
Remove unnecessary clutter in your home, which provides hiding spots for bed bugs.
Monitor:
Continue to monitor the treated areas for several weeks to ensure that all bed bugs have been eradicated.
Seek Professional Help:
If your infestation is extensive or persists despite your efforts, consult a professional pest control company for assistance.
It’s essential to be persistent and thorough when dealing with bed bugs. Keep in mind that eliminating bed bugs may take time and repeated treatments, so be patient and vigilant throughout the process

Whitening your teeth naturally can be a safe and effective way to achieve a brighter smile. Here are some natural methods to help whiten your teeth:
Baking Soda and Water: Create a paste by mixing a small amount of baking soda with water. Brush your teeth with this paste once a week. Be gentle, as baking soda is abrasive and excessive use can damage your enamel.
Hydrogen Peroxide: Mix hydrogen peroxide with water (1:1 ratio) to create a mouthwash. Swish this solution in your mouth for a minute or two and then rinse with plain water. Do not swallow it.
Oil Pulling: Swishing coconut oil or sesame oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes can help remove stains and bacteria. Spit it out in the trash when you’re done, as it can clog drains.
Activated Charcoal: Gently brush your teeth with activated charcoal powder. It can help absorb stains, but use it sparingly to avoid enamel damage.
Strawberries: Mash up a ripe strawberry and rub it on your teeth. The malic acid in strawberries can help remove stains. Rinse your mouth thoroughly afterward to avoid acidity damage.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Dilute apple cider vinegar with water and use it as a mouthwash, swishing for a few seconds before rinsing with water. Be cautious, as it is acidic and can erode tooth enamel.
Eat Crunchy Fruits and Vegetables: Foods like apples, carrots, and celery can help remove surface stains as you chew them.
Maintain Good Oral Hygiene: Regular brushing and flossing can help prevent stains and keep your teeth looking their best.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking water can help wash away food particles that can stain your teeth.
Limit Staining Foods: Reduce your consumption of coffee, tea, red wine, and foods that can stain your teeth.
It’s important to remember that natural remedies may take time to show results, and the degree of whitening may vary from person to person. If you’re looking for more immediate or significant results, professional teeth whitening by a dentist is an option to consider. Additionally, consult with a dentist before trying any natural methods, especially if you have underlying dental issues.
Maintaining prostate health is important, and diet plays a significant role in supporting it. Here are seven essential foods that can help protect your prostate:
Tomatoes: Tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene, which has been linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. Cooking tomatoes can increase the absorption of lycopene.
Broccoli: Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli are rich in sulforaphane, a compound that may help protect against prostate cancer.
Salmon: Fatty fish like salmon are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties and can support prostate health.
Berries: Berries, such as blueberries and strawberries, are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that can help reduce inflammation and protect against cancer.
Green Tea: Green tea is rich in antioxidants, particularly catechins, which have been associated with a lower risk of prostate cancer.
Nuts: Nuts, like almonds and walnuts, are high in healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants, which can benefit overall health, including prostate health.
Turmeric: The active compound in turmeric, curcumin, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that may help prevent and manage prostate cancer.
Incorporating these foods into your diet as part of a balanced and healthy eating plan can contribute to better prostate health. Additionally, it’s essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and routine medical check-ups. If you have specific concerns about your prostate health, consult with a healthcare professional.

If you’re looking for natural alternatives to conventional deodorants, here are five natural products and herbs that can help combat body odor:
Baking Soda:
Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, can be used as a natural deodorant. It helps neutralize odor by creating an alkaline environment that inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
To use, mix a small amount of baking soda with water to create a paste and apply it to your underarms. Allow it to dry before getting dressed.
Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil has natural antibacterial properties that can help combat body odor.
Simply apply a small amount of coconut oil to your underarms, and it will help keep bacteria in check while providing a pleasant scent.
Lemon Juice:
Lemon juice is naturally acidic and can help eliminate odor by killing odor-causing bacteria.
Apply freshly squeezed lemon juice to your underarms and let it dry before getting dressed. Be cautious if you have sensitive skin, as lemon juice can be irritating for some.
Witch Hazel:
Witch hazel is a natural astringent that can help reduce sweating and control body odor.
Apply witch hazel to your underarms using a cotton ball or spray it on as a spray-on deodorant.
Sage:
Sage contains natural compounds that can help reduce excessive sweating and combat body odor.
To use, steep sage leaves in hot water to create a sage tea. Allow it to cool, then apply the tea to your underarms using a cotton ball or as a spray.
Remember that individual reactions to these natural alternatives may vary, so it’s essential to do a patch test on a small area of skin to check for any adverse reactions. Additionally, these natural alternatives may not provide the same level of long-lasting odor protection as commercial deodorants, so you may need to reapply them throughout the day if necessary

Ghanaian actor and politician, Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as LilWin, has shared the harrowing details of a near-fatal accident he survived, which garnered significant public attention.
In his account, the vehicle carried him, his driver, and a sick child who attended his school. They were desperately searching for a pharmacy to purchase medicine for the ailing child. Their initial attempt to find medication in the town proved futile, so they were forced to relocate to another place. During this journey, LilWin’s driver was driving at high speed due to the fear that the child’s condition might worsen or even result in death.
LilWin further revealed that, unfortunately, the driver, who was not very experienced behind the wheel, ended up colliding with a tricycle. Thankfully, none of the passengers sustained any injuries in the accident. However, their vehicle was damaged in the process.
“On my way home, the accident occurred. I was not the one driving the car; it was a guy called Kwame Success. One of our students was not feeling well, so, we were going to buy him medicine at the pharmaceutical shop. Most of the shops we visited had closed. So he was moving to another town and on his way he was speeding to get to his destination earlier and also due to the fear that the child would die.
“He is not good at driving though. So, in the course of the movement, the car collided with a tricycle and the car got damaged. I was not worried because we wanted to save the child’s life. Those in the car didn’t sustain any injury but it was the tricycle rider who was injured,” LilWin said in a video shared on the social media page and posted by Express GHTV on their YouTube channel.
He indicated that he took care of the injured tricycle driver for his treatment at the hospital and bought him a new tricycle to continue his work.
“I took the tricycle driver to the hospital for treatment and now he has fully recovered. I can’t let him be jobless due to the accident so I bought him a new tricycle.”

The manager for Shatta Wale, Sammy Flex has provided insights into the abrupt cancellation of Shatta Wale’s highly anticipated show in Wolverhampton, UK. He explained that Shatta Wale encountered various health problems during his stay in the UK. Despite these health issues, Shatta Wale was determined to connect with his fans in Wolverhampton.
“Whilst we were still preparing, he fell ill. Weather changes, cold flu here and there. So he became a little weak within that time.
“Then we said, okay, we still want to play this show. We don’t want to disappoint our people. So what can we do now? Let’s make things comfortable for him so he can play this show,” he said on GHOne TV.
He added that after meeting with the organizers, he suggested that a helicopter be provided to take Shatta to the venue instead of undergoing a long drive from London to Wolverhampton.
“He doesn’t want to go through a long drive from London City to Wolverhampton. We told them that to make it simple, let’s airlift him, for a maximum of 45 minutes. Let’s airlift him to Wolverhampton.
“When we do that, he can get some rest. He will not be stressed, at least the little energy in him, he will be able to maintain it for the performance moving forward,” he added.
However, the organizers didn’t seem receptive to the idea, responding with, “At this stage, we can’t do it.”
Background
Shatta Wale’s highly anticipated concert in Wolverhampton, originally scheduled for November 4, 2023, was suddenly canceled by his management. They attributed the cancellation to the organizers’ inability to meet the artist’s extensive demands, both in terms of logistics and finances.
In response to the cancellation, Bizzle Entertainment expressed their surprise and disappointment. They pointed out a lack of prior communication from Shatta Movement Empire, emphasizing that their agreement stipulated the need for discussions in case of unforeseen circumstances or disputes before any public announcements.
Bizzle Entertainment also confirmed their compliance with all contractual obligations, including an initial 50% down payment. They regarded the cancellation as a violation of the signed contract and are actively pursuing a mutually agreeable resolution.
Fameye’s management has released a press release to clarify the situation and distance Fameye from the controversy following recent remarks made by a person going by the name of Kwadwo Wood regarding Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel.
In a video circulating on social media, Kwadwo Wood made various allegations against Prophet Nigel Gaisie, accusing him of being a fake prophet who amasses wealth through questionable prophetic practices.
He also claimed that Gaisie suffers from bipolar disorder, casting doubt on the reliability of his statements. Wood further asserted that Gaisie’s prophecies do not come true and even insinuated that Gaisie’s junior pastor requested a bribe to annul a death prophecy involving Fameye.
Wood concluded by threatening to disclose a secret about Gaisie if further provoked. In a statement released on November 1, 2023, Fameye’s management clarified that Mr. Kwadwo Wood is not the manager of the musician and stressed that Wood’s comments were of a personal nature.
They emphasized that these remarks should not be construed as representing the views or statements of Fameye. Fameye’s management encouraged the public, the media, and all concerned parties to disregard Wood’s comments, as they do not reflect the official position of the Fameye brand.
The Korle Bu Renal Dialysis Unit, which had been closed for nearly six months, will soon be reopened to the public. This decision comes as a result of the directive from the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Mohammed Amin Adam.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, Isaac Offei Baah, confirmed this development.
The Minister has assured that the government is committed to addressing the situation, emphasizing that it is unacceptable for Ghanaians with kidney failure to endure the challenges they have been facing due to the closure of the dialysis unit.
In an interview with Joy News, he said “The Honorable Minister has directed the Chief Executive of Korle Bu to as a matter of urgency make the place opened and issue a statement for Ghanaians to know that the place is opened,”
The Korle Bu Renal Dialysis Unit was closed down in May 2023 due to issues related to the delayed delivery of consumables and an outstanding debt of GH₵4 million cedis.
During the closure, several patients lost their lives because they were unable to access dialysis treatment at private dialysis centers, which are more expensive than the services provided by the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
According to Isaac Offei Baah, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, the concerns of the hospital have been addressed, and efforts are underway to settle the debt.
Regarding the proposed increase in the dialysis fee from GH₵385 to GH₵765, he noted that an agreement has not been reached on that matter.
The Minister for Health, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, is scheduled to appear before Parliament on Thursday, November 9, 2023, as announced by the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
During this parliamentary session, the Minister is expected to provide the House with a comprehensive briefing on two significant issues.
Firstly, he will address the closure of the Renal Unit Out Patients’ Department and the increasing prevalence of kidney-related cases in Ghana.
This development has raised concerns and prompted calls for government intervention to ease the financial burden on renal dialysis patients. The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s dialysis center had previously issued a notice of a price increase, raising the cost of renal dialysis from GHS380 to GHS765.42.
However, it is essential to note that this adjustment was pending consideration and approval from the Ministry of Health, followed by parliamentary endorsement.
In light of these concerns, the hospital management has expressed their commitment to addressing the affordability of renal dialysis and emphasized their understanding of the challenges faced by renal dialysis patients.
They have pledged to collaborate with stakeholders and philanthropists to provide support, as they have done in the past, by subsidizing dialysis reagents and services.
In addition to these pressing issues, the Minister will also be expected to address whether or not the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) will extend coverage to Renal Dialysis patients, as this is an important matter affecting healthcare in the country.
The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, has issued a directive to the management of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, instructing them to reopen the Renal Dialysis Unit for outpatient services.
The unit had been closed to outpatient services in May 2023 due to the high cost of dialysis consumables. The decision to reopen the unit comes after the Minister’s directive.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, Isaac Baah Ofei, confirmed this directive in an interview with Citi News.
“The Minister has directed the Chief Executive Officer of Korle-Bu to as a matter of urgency, see to the opening of the centre and so he directed as well that while it is opened, Korle-Bu should issue a statement for the general public to know exactly what is going on and when they can get access to the place.”
A partial reopening of the Renal Dialysis Unit occurred on September 27, which was accompanied by an announcement of an increase in dialysis treatment costs per session from GH¢380 to GHS¢765.42.
The Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, is advocating for Parliament to summon the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, regarding the closure of the outpatient department of the Renal Unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The closure of the unit since May 2023 has led to the deaths of 19 outpatients, attributed to a 4 million Ghana Cedi debt. Akandoh emphasized the need for the government to provide updates on the measures taken to reopen the facility.

President of Think Tank, IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has alleged that government cannot locate documents covering the $178 million Kelni GVG contract.
According to Mr. Cudjoe, in a response to a request for documents covering the controversial deal, the Communications Ministry said “Please we have been ‘searching’ for the documents since we received your letter dated May 31, 2018. When we find them, we will send them to you.”
IMANI Africa has been championing for the cancellation of the Kelni GVG deal which is in line with the Communication Service Tax (Amendment) Act, 2013, Act 864.
Government was last week sued to halt the implementation of the controversial deal aimed at real time traffic monitoring and stopping SIM box fraud.
Two Citizens Sara Asafu-Adjaye and Maximus Amertogoh want the respondents – the Minister of Communication, the National Communication Authority, the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Attorney General and the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications including the telecommunications networks – to cease any action on the Common Platform until the case is determined.
They are praying the court for “an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the respondents, whether, by themselves, their servants, workmen, hirelings, agents, privies or any persons claiming under or through them, whosoever described from implementing and operationalizing the Common Platform until the final determination of this suit.”
The applicants believe the “intended implementation of the Common Platform Constitutes a real threat to the enjoyment of their fundamental human rights to privacy and for which reason on 8th June 2018, applicants commence an action against the respondents for the reliefs endorsed therein.”
They added: “Instead of connecting to only the billing node as stipulated in Act 864, the connections will be made to all the physical network nodes.”
They argued that the connection is “in breach of Act 864 and ultimately the applicant’s fundamental human right to privacy of their correspondence and communication as protected by article 18(2) of the constitution.”

Policy think-tank IMANI Africa has exposed another sham concerning the controversial $89 million Kelni-GVG deal signed by the Government of Ghana and Haitian ICT firm, Kelni-GVG.
The think-tank known for waging relentless crusades against the contract in a detailed report available to GhanaWeb accused the Communications Ministry, headed by Ursula Owusu-Ekuful of engaging in a fraudulent act solely to ‘rape’ the country with the award of a 10-year contract worth $178 million to Kelni-GVG.
The report titled “How Ministry of Communications raped Ghana through the Kelni-GVG sham” raises issues surrounding the deal giving key problems with the entire process that led to the award of the contract by showing the chronology, the procedures adopted by the ministry, the evaluation of tenders and the final outcome of the contract, IMANI believes it’s a rip-off.
Raising a number of abuses and concerns surrounding the deal, IMANI says the first thing noticeable is the haste at which the deal was conducted.
According to them, “in virtually all cases, no real due diligence information was available to the authority making the decision to approve or reject. For example, the Ministry of Finance received a letter on Friday asking it to consent to a multi-year contract valued at nearly $180 million, with absolutely no financial due diligence of the proposed EPC structure, and yet two working days later the Minister had been able to take a decision to sign. Anyone with even the barest notion of how government works in Ghana would appreciate the job queue in the average ministerial office, not to talk of the Finance Ministry of all places. Clearly, there was no intent to conduct due diligence. This problem is rampant across the chronology”.
Another issue raised questioned why CRTC has not bothered even once to invite comments on the deal despite a pending petition from Subah alleging in very strong terms the illegality of the entire proceedings. According to IMANI, it is required by law for CRTC to meet at least once every three months but that has not been done.
IMANI further revealed that “checks at the Registrar General confirmed our fears when we originally reviewed the documentation available on the Kelni case. None of the four companies deliberately invited to the tender had any track record in the field of telecom revenue and traffic monitoring for which reason a restricted tender was warranted….NCA mischievously relaxed the requirement that the successful tenderer should have at least 3 years minimum track record. Luckily, for this country, they were unable to remove the 5.5(e) requirement that the successful tenderer shows evidence that they have 10% of the contract price in the form of liquid assets or credit facilities. Despite this requirement forming part of the evaluation criteria, no evidence was collected to confirm that any of the four obscure companies met this very clear stipulation”.
Based on these, IMANI has vowed to refer the matter to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) since it yielded no results when it was sent to court.
“Given the challenges with the court system we outlined at the beginning of this report, going to CHRAJ is the most cost-effective route in these circumstances”, the statement read.
Read below an extensive report on the new development concerning the Kelni-GVG deal by IMANI Africa.
In May of this year (2018), IMANI began issuing a series of alerts and reports on the decision by the Ministry of Communications (MOC), acting in concert with its technical agency, the National Communications Authority (NCA), to award a 10-year contract worth nearly $180 million to an entity known as Kelni GVG.
In June of the same year, a Principal of IMANI, Kofi Bentil, acting as a public interest lawyer, commenced multiple lawsuits, on behalf of Maximus Amertogoh and Sara Asafu-Adjaye against the Ministry of Communications on grounds of financial maladministration and threats to privacy. A totally separate legal action was also underway by a company called, Subah, meant to injunct the take-off of the Kelni-GVG contract on the grounds that the contract infringed on Subah’s existing contract with the government which, to its mind, had been unlawfully abrogated.
Telcos satisfied Kelni GVG will protect privacy – Ursula Owusu
IMANI supported the actions of Kofi Bentil, and was indifferent to the case of Subah since we had different perceptions about the whole approach to “telecom taxation revenue assurance” that Subah believed in. In short, IMANI does not accept this whole notion of paying millions of dollars to companies to prevent tax evasion by telecom operators because the whole technology model is questionable and the evidence over more than a decade shows that Ghana has never been able to use these systems to improve revenue collection from telcos, despite their costing millions of dollars. The whole enterprise has become a wicked gravy train that needs to be stopped.
Kofi Bentil’s lawsuits were met with a remarkable degree of resistance, evasiveness, delay tactics, and verbal aggression by the Ministry of Communications. It has become clear over the last four months, that the Ministry has absolutely no intent of behaving with the high ethical standards and decorum expected of a public office, and that pursuing this matter through the courts would likely take years.
Unfortunately, Kofi Bentil has limited pro bono capacity, and IMANI’s attempts to solicit donations from the public to minimise his costs have not been successful. In the absence of conditions favouring public interest litigation in Ghana, especially when the issue at stake involves multiple layers of bureaucratic misconduct, we were not surprised to hear from Kofi Bentil that, under the circumstances, a settlement was the most efficient end to the court proceedings. IMANI congratulates Kofi, Maximus and Sara for the remarkable success of securing concessions on privacy protection from Kelni-GVG and its enablers, the MOC.
IMANI views the value-for-money issues it raised against the contract as unresolved. In this brief report, we shall therefore catalogue the key problems with the entire process that led to the award of the contract; and show how the chronology, the procedures adopted, the evaluation of tenders, and the final outcome all point to a SHAM ARRANGEMENT DESIGNED SOLELY TO RAPE GHANA. We will then outline our strategy to compel an improvement in the value for money content of the current situation. Whilst the legal case is being settled, the ethical-financial administration case against Kelni shall continue to gather momentum until a comprehensive settlement is reached.
Agreement between Global Voice Group, a Seychelles-registered company, and Subah Info-solutions is executed.
GVG assigned its rights, title and interest in a contract signed with the National Communications Authority (NCA) on March 11, 2009, for the implementation of a “Consolidated International Gateway Project Management” service.
Through this agreement GVG assigned or “sold” the contract they had with the Republic of Ghana to Subah for $12 million.
2nd February 2015
In 2015, GRA renews the subsisting contract with Subah but NCA writes soon thereafter to GRA explaining that the necessary “legal regime is not in place” even though Subah has already commenced operations under the “new dispensation”. NCA provides a “supplementary agreement” to give “legal effect” to the engagement between Subah and NCA, thereby regularising a tripartite arrangement between Subah, GRA and NCA.
In the supplementary agreement, Subah was to build a common monitoring platform for the NCA and GRA using an “out of bound signal transfer point architecture”.
NCA was to bill network operators, collect monies due to government in respect of international, inbound, electronic communications traffic, and then pay a portion of the amount collected to Subah as monthly fees against invoices issued by the latter.

Letter from Ministry of Communications to the Director-General (DG) of the NCA, Joe Anokye, signed by Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful reminding the DG that in March 2017 a decision had been taken at a stakeholders’ consultation forum chaired by the Senior Minister to implement a common platform for NCA and GRA, but with the NCA taking the lead in the establishment of the platform because of its technical capacity. In the letter, the Minister of Communications said the participants at the meeting had agreed that the responsibility for this platform should be removed from both Afriwave and Subah. Recall that in 2015, the NDC had introduced Afriwave into the picture, thereby splitting the telecom tax assurance program into two, one administered by the GRA and operated by Subah, and the other administered by the NCA and operated by Afriwave.
11th August 2017
Joe Anokye writes to Minister Owusu-Ekuful accepting the responsibility to procure the “Common Monitoring Platform” from a vendor by a “selective tender process”. We presume “selective” here was intended to mean “restrictive” or “restricted”.
31st August 2017
NCA seeks approval from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to use restricted tendering for the purpose of procuring this “Common Monitoring Platform” (CMP). The use of “restricted tendering” was proposed as the only viable path forward as the CMP is a highly specialised endeavour and only a few companies in Ghana can hope to build and manage it. In the same letter to the PPA, the NCA DG claims that the Authority had conducted an extensive background search on the 4 companies it was recommending to the PPA for approval based on their track record offering similar services as those which it intends to solicit through the tender. This is a very crucial point, and the reader is asked to bear it in mind as the entirety of IMANI’s case rests substantially on it.
11th September
PPA issues approval for ONLY the 4 companies to be invited by the NCA for restricted tendering.
15th November 2017
NCA issues bidding documents to the four tendering companies, which are
3D TV Properties Limited/Opertech Solutions
Aeon Logistics/SGS
Kelni Ltd/GVG
Atlantic Assets Limited/Telsig
Notice that the “subcontractors” of these companies are mentioned after the slash, but not as joint venture partners. We will explain why that point matters later in this report.
Kelni GVG contract: Misinformed IMANI is not God – Andah hits back
30th November
The four lucky companies sent the following representatives to the opening of bids at the NCA:
Rouba Habboushi – Kelni Ltd. (this representative is also associated with the Yellow Butterfly Company, which we have been investigating in relation to allied matters)
Frederick Yemoh – 3D TV Properties Limited
George Tagoe – Aeon Logistics Limited
Peter Hoyah – Atlantic Assets Limited
The NCA had constituted an entity tendering committee comprising of the following persons:
Kofi Datsa – IT Lawyer
Kofi Ntim Yeboah-Kordieh – Electronic Engineer
Roland Kudozia – Core Network Engineer
Mohamed Amin Suleman – IT Engineer
David Gyapanin – legal procurement specialist
The evaluation of the bids by the committee yielded the following results:

Financial
4th December (Monday)
Following a Meeting of the Entity Tender Committee held at the NCA Boardroom, Joe Anokye and Abena Asafu Agyei, Head of Procurement at the NCA, moved to advance the process.
5th December 2017 (Tuesday)
George Andah, Deputy Minister of Communications, writes to Charles Taylor of the Central Tender Review Committee (CTRC) with copies of the “Evaluation Report” of the tender held pursuant to the “concurrent approval” issued by the CTRC and solicits ratification for the process.
X December 2017
On a letter with a tampered date (our analysis show that the letter was written sometime between 4th December and 14th December) that appears to be a cross between 4th, 13th and 14th December, David Quist, Secretary to the CTRC wrote to Minister Owusu-Ekuful to inform her that an emergency meeting had been held on the 11th of December 2017 to approve the evaluation report and therefore that approval to enter into an agreement with the selected vendor was therewith issued.
CTRC asked for a Ministry of Finance approval since the contract was multi-year and also demanded to see results of negotiations with the vendor prior to final approval.
14th December 2017 (Thursday)
MOC is purported to have written a letter to the Ministry of Finance (essentially the same day that the letter from the CTRC letter is supposedly dated) asking for approval.
19th December 2017 (Tuesday)
Minister of Finance writes to grant approval. Not a single explanatory memorandum was annexed to the request for approval. One wonders how the decision was made.
20th December 2017 (Wednesday)
MOC writes to CTRC with its assurances that the Ministry of Finance had granted approval. No information whatsoever about the results of the negotiations were provided.
22nd December 2017 (Friday)
David Quist writes to inform the MOC that at a meeting of the CTRC the day before, during which the “outcome of negotiations” and the Ministry of Finance’s approval had been reviewed, the committee was disposed to issue approval. Even though a pending petition showing that the Ministry is acting illegally had also been sighted, the CTRC was nevertheless of the mind that the process needed to progress.
27th December 2017 (Wednesday)
Right after boxing day, the contract with Kelni-GVG is signed.
Probe $179m Kelni GVG deal – Baako
Abuses & Concerns
1. The first thing noticeable about the chronology outlined above is the haste with which very complex evaluations of a $178 million dollar contract were supposedly conducted. In virtually all cases, no real due diligence information was available to the authority making the decision to approve or reject. This problem is rampant across the chronology.
2. Despite a pending petition from Subah alleging in very strong terms the illegality of the entire proceedings, the CRTC does not bother even once to invite comments on the matter even as the process is rammed through from emergency sitting to emergency sitting (note that the CRTC would normally meet once or twice a month and by law must meet at least once every three months).
3. On 16th January 2018, barely three weeks (less than 14 working days) later, the Attorney General was compelled to write to Kofi Nti, Commissioner General of the GRA, regarding a petition received from Mercer & Company on behalf of Subah in respect of a purported termination of its contract and award of the same contract to a foreign company. This letter was ignored even though the Attorney General had clearly advised that the letter of termination sent on 25th April, 2017 and meant to take effect on 5th May 2017, did not satisfy the 3-month notice indicated in the contract, and that the 11-day notice was clearly in breach of the contract. The notice from the AG was very clear that should Subah decide to exercise its rights at law, financial liability to the state could not be averted. Yet, this was ignored even as the MOC, with the connivance of the CTRC, rammed through the process. Any settlement with Subah today would have financial implications for the project.
4. Above everything else, however, is the actual conduct of the “restricted tender”. Our checks at the Registrar General confirmed our fears when we originally reviewed the documentation available on the Kelni case. None of the four companies deliberately invited to the tender had any track record in the field of telecom revenue and traffic monitoring for which reason a restricted tender was warranted. Not surprisingly, in section II 5.5(b) of the restricted tender guidelines, the NCA mischievously relaxed the requirement that the successful tenderer should have at least 3 years minimum track record. Luckily, for this country, they were unable to remove the 5.5(e) requirement that the successful tenderer shows evidence that they have 10% of the contract price in the form of liquid assets or credit facilities. Despite this requirement forming part of the evaluation criteria, as per section v (qualification information) clause 1.8 of the guidelines, no evidence was collected to confirm that any of the four obscure companies met this very clear stipulation.
5. Further evidence that the purported “background research” used to justify the selection of ONLY the four companies to participate in the sham tender was completely inept came to the fore when the purported technical partner of Aeon Logistics – SGS – disclaimed any association and refused to participate in the sham proceedings. The principle here is that: in a tender evaluation of this kind, it is not purported subcontractors or alleged “partners” that matter, but rather the tendering companies whose incorporation, tax, and other identification documents/information have entitled them to participate in the bid. The informal use of the names of alleged “partners” or potential/future subcontractors to bolster the credibility of weak tenderers is heavily open to abuse and thus in contravention of all norms of public procurement. We have been exhaustive in past commentary about Kelni Ltd, so we will in this report only focus on the other three companies invited to the tender:
a. Aeon Logistics was incorporated in 2014 to provide services in general logistics and ICT consultancy with paid-in capital of 5000 GHS. It says its principal place of doing business is Hse No. E249, Tumu Avenue in Kanda (picture below).
Two days after Minister Owusu-Ekuful’s letter to the NCA asking for the procurement of the CMP, the founders of Aeon Logistics sold their non-trading enterprise to Ms. Awura Adwoa Anie-Budu, a fresh law graduate and friend of Fritz Salewa, an Obafemi Awolowo grad working as a supporting paralegal at Integrated Legal Consultants, who became the second director. The total amount paid in the transaction was a grand total of 5000 GHS. That was how much the company was worth on the eve of the tender, and yet Aeon was selected as one of only four companies in Ghana suitable to bid for the project. Let that sink in. Checks at SSNIT leads us to conclude that at this time Aeon Logistics had no full-time employees, and still doesn’t. So who is it that found Aeon and decided that they needed to be invited to participate in a restricted tender for a $179 million project to monitor sophisticated telecom companies in Ghana?
b. 3D TV Properties was incorporated in 1995 and is authorised to trade in the construction, general merchandise, telecoms and broadcasting sectors. It has never acquired any licenses in the telecom and broadcasting industries, a regulated sector where licenses are prerequisites of business, and has indeed been comatose for many years. Its only shareholder is Yvonne Yemoh, who contributed the 10,000 GHS share capital during the formation. The second Director is Christopher Amanortey of Akosombo Chambers. 3D TV also has no full-time employees. What is even more fascinating, it was only AFTER the PPA had approved the inclusion of the company’s name in the list of pre-qualified tenderers that, on 26th September 2017, the company modified its objects to include telecoms. Who did the research that turned up 3D TV Properties as one of the few companies in Ghana that could undertake this $179 million contract?
c. Atlantic Assets Limited was represented during the tender, if you would recall, by Peter Hoyah, another paralegal at Integrated Legal Consultants, the same entity whose paralegal serves as a Director at Aeon. It was founded in 2011 with share capital of 15000 GHS by Isaac Emmil Osei Bonsu and Laura Anastasia Akuoko for the primary purpose of investing in real estate. Isaac Osei Bonsu is a well-known lawyer with Minkah-Premo, who has investments in various properties in Ghana. “Atlantic Assets Limited” nevertheless had no background whatsoever in the telecoms industry, much less in signals processing, and could not have surfaced in an objective search for companies with the capacity to deliver a $179 million project.
6. None of the GRA officials purported to have been part of the evaluation panel actually participated. This was strange indeed considering that the CMP was justified as a means to unify GRA and NCA revenue assurance processes and practices.
7. Mohamed Amin Suleman, a former employee of Global Voice Group, continued to participate as an evaluator in these proceedings when he should have had the professional sense to recuse himself. The question is: why was he empanelled in the first place by the NCA?
8. The technical proposal from Kelni Ltd, which was adjudged as most superior by the compromised entity tender committee was replete with sheer technical skulduggery. Multi-protocol packet analysers were deliberately obfuscated and renamed as multiple, separate, hardware and software packages in order to bamboozle and confuse, thereby justifying millions of dollars for capital investment that simply cannot survive even the most rudimentary of technical audits. Some of the most egregious entries include: CNMP Probes Simon Series 2000
USSD Filtering & Monitoring Engine
SMS Classification & Monitoring Engine
CAMEL/DIAMETER Filtering & Monitoring Engine
SigTran Monitoring Engine
These redundant, mis-specified, facilities were listed as costing over $700,000 for each site.
9. As IMANI has demonstrated severally in the past through our written and oral commentary, the proposed infrastructure plan for the SS7 and sigtran monitoring, which undergirds the whole CMP effort, was bloated and inflated by several millions of dollars, as was the operational and management plan. This was done with the full connivance of the Entity Tendering Committee, which is why it produced no technical report to justify any of the planned expenditure given the task at hand. Not a single technical opinion was written to show any effort at all to review the proposed architectural design and topology. Ghana’s money was just poured down the drain.
10. At the CRTC level, unconscionable failures compounded the farce. The restricted tender awarded to Kelni Ltd was not published in the Public Procurement Bulletin contrary to section 39(2) of the Public Procurement Act (the electronic version of the PPB is available for anyone to check: https://www.ppaghana.org/rt-contracts_results.asp?Agency=%25&ppb_date=356&Submit=Search&offset=50). None of the serious questions that should have been asked were asked. And nearly $180 million of the country’s precious resources were allowed to sink down the drain of ineptitude.
Kelni GVG saga: Monitoring is important – Finance Minister justifies
IMANI has decided, therefore, to refer this whole matter to CHRAJ.
Given the challenges with the court system we outlined at the beginning of this report, going to CHRAJ is the most cost-effective route in these circumstances.
Our primary complaint is that a “restricted tendering” process presupposes extensive due diligence before the public tenderer can conclude that only the companies being invited possess the rare combination of capacity and experience to undertake a particular assignment. Without that safeguard, the process is heavily open to abuse.
We insist, based on our research, a part of which we have summarised in this report, that the decision to restrict such a major tender, valued at such a huge sum, and one that had no restrictions on the nationality of tendering entities, to four companies with no track record managing operations of similar technical complexity as the assignment in view was part of a deliberate effort to conduct sham proceedings just to favour preferred vendors.
This conduct amounts to abuse of office and administrative malfeasance. We do not believe that any objective assessment of the obscure companies invited to tender was conducted. Their selection was a ruse meant to facilitate a preconceived conclusion.
It is very important to bear in mind the wording of the law on this issue. A restricted tender is only justified under the following conditions:
(a) if goods, works or services are available only from a limited number of suppliers or contractors; or
(b) if the time and cost required to examine and evaluate a large number of ten
A CHRAJ investigation is thus warranted.
If, however the MOC, NCA and Kelni-GVG are open to further negotiations with a view to improving the value for money situation, the remedy we intend to seek from CHRAJ can be obtainable from a comprehensive settlement now that Kofi Bentil has made progress on the privacy front. The whole point of sound public procurement, after all, is to arrive at the best value for money decision.

Nigerian singer, Tems, provided further insights into her ordeal in the Ugandan prison where she and Omah Lay were detained for two full days in 2020, facing charges in court.
Tems felt completely cut off from the world during her detention and had to quickly adjust to the harsh reality of being in prison. During an interview with Angie Martinez, she recounted her experience, starting from when she was taken from her hotel.
At first, she thought it might be a joke, but when she arrived at the prison and was handed her uniform, the gravity of the situation hit her, and she couldn’t help but cry.
Tems said, “I thought I wasn’t gonna come out. I thought I was seeing it for a reason like maybe I was meant to help the people. I was settling in because I adapted real quick and as I was walking in I started to cry because they gave me my uniform and it stunk because they don’t wash it.
It was a small room and there was nothing, there’s just the floor they give you blankets and tissues and you’re just on the floor, no bed and I did it for two days. I didn’t even know I was going to get out, I didn’t have any ears on the ground nobody told me anything. Outside everyone was like ‘free Tems, free Omah lay but inside I was just hopeful, waiting,” she narrated.
Despite her hope, Tems was uncertain about a speedy release. She observed that the women she connected with in prison were often incarcerated for minor offenses, and some were held due to bribes paid to the guards. The prison’s system required money to make phone calls, and she had none.
Tems shared that she entertained the women in prison by winking at them when they stared at her as she entered. Her reason for winking was simple – nerves. She did it to adapt quickly and, most importantly, to avoid crying in such a challenging environment.
She said to Martinez, “Once I walked in everyone turned and looked at me and whispering and I was like ‘what have I done? I can’t cry’ and I just started winking, that was my way of adapting. I must show these people that I’m confident so I started being extra winking and saying hi and they were laughing.”
The woman in charge of the women’s prisons went to her to explain the rules and regulations, as well as the repercussions of breaking the rules. The apex punishment was solitary confinement in a small store with no food or water. She was told that she had to kneel to speak to officials and they were fed only once a day. During the two days spent in the prison, she didn’t eat and continued sipping water every day.
On the night of December 12, 2020, Omah Lay and Tems performed at The Big Brunch, an event held at Speke Resort on Wavamunno Road, Kampala, Uganda. Following their performance, they were charged in court by the Uganda police for violating COVID-19 guidelines during a lockdown.
Back in Nigeria, a collective effort was made to secure the immediate release of Tems and Omah Lay. Tems’ manager’s father traveled to the capital city, Abuja, to meet with then-President Buhari to address the issue. As a result, the two musicians were eventually released and sent back home.
Canadian singer Celine Dion, known for her hit song “My Heart Will Go On,” recently made her first public appearance in nearly four years, demonstrating her resilience and unwavering spirit despite her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder she was diagnosed with in December 2022.
The 55-year-old singer attended an NHL game at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where her hometown team, the Montreal Canadiens, faced off against the Vegas Golden Knights. Celine, a dedicated Canadiens supporter, was joined by her son René-Charles and twins, Eddy and Nelson. She radiated positivity as she posed for photos with players and brought joy to the fans with her presence.
Celine Dion displayed remarkable resilience and a positive attitude as she engaged in an enthusiastic post-game chat with the Montreal Canadiens players in their locker room, despite her ongoing battle with stiff person syndrome.
Celine’s diagnosis with stiff person syndrome has significantly impacted her career, leading to the cancellation of various concerts and ultimately resulting in the discontinuation of her Courage World Tour, with her last performance in March 2020.
Stiff person syndrome is a rare and progressive neurological disorder that can cause stiffness in the muscles of the torso, arms, and legs, as described by the National Institutes of Health.

Ningo-Prampram MP, Sam George, contends that the government possesses the necessary resources to establish a new settlement for the Akosombo Dam spillage victims.
The MP emphasizes that the displaced residents face risks of disease outbreaks and potential structural failures in their damaged buildings, making it unwise for them to return home. He points out that the government, with private sector assistance, previously built new settlements for the Appeatse explosion victims and believes a similar effort is warranted in this case.
“I have heard talks that the water is receding so they are going to fumigate the houses, but you can’t live in those buildings. I have seen it.
“People’s faecal matter were on the surfaces of the water, it stayed in people’s houses for weeks. You can’t expect human beings to go and live in those buildings.
“Government must have a proper resettlement plan. When the Appeatse disaster happened, government set up a fund and reached out to the private sector to put money into it and they built a new Appeatse township. We need to build a new Mepe township,” he said.
When asked if government had the resources to undertake such a project, the outspoken MP stressed that the amount of money which will be used to buy votes during the NPP Primaries can be used to put up new settlements for the people.
“The money that is going to be paid to delegates of the NPP between Thursday night and Saturday when they will have their primaries will build a new Mepe township.
“I have seen an interview by Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign manager where he said inducements are paid. That is a fact, but the level of inducement being paid by the Bawumia campaign and even by the Ken campaign can be put together.
“So when we say we don’t have money, but Bawumia can find money then where is he getting the money from? And when you consider that a Sanitation Minister had enough money in her house that one million dollars was stolen and she even didn’t recognize, then the money there was big.”
Meanwhile, pressure continues to mount on government to move the affected victims to the uncompleted Saglemi Housing project.
Background
This year’s spillage exercise is not the first time VRA has spilt water from the Akosombo Dam.
A similar exercise was carried out in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1974, and 1991 with the recent one done in 2010.
They were all done to prevent water from overtopping the dam.
Subsequently, on September 15, the Volta River Authority began spilling excess water due to rising levels of the Akosombo and Kpong hydro dams.
Weeks after the spillage began, many residents living along the Lower Volta Basin lost their homes and farms to the floods caused by the spillage.
Currently, nine districts find themselves reeling under the fury of the racing spillage, their inhabitants caught up in this humanitarian crisis.
Communities such as Battor, Tefle, Mepe, Sogakope, Adidome, and Anlo have been submerged with their existence nearly swallowed by the unrelenting waters.
The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has made a commitment to introduce policies aimed at promoting the development of the music industry in Ghana.
During an interview on Onua TV’s “Showtime with McBrown,” he expressed his determination to instigate reforms in the music industry and establish a system that ensures musicians receive fair compensation for their efforts.
We are in a position where we can encourage GHAMRO to do what will make the music industry better, so when someone is not been fair to a musician, we are called to the musician’s aid and we will make sure to put some measures in place so anyone who is in or wants to join MUSIGA will not suffer”
According to Bessa Simons, there are lawyers ready to assist musicians who have issues with GHAMRO concerning royalties.
“And once you join MUSIGA, you should know you have a backbone, we have lawyers to support any musician who is not being treated fairly when it comes to royalties”.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has provided assurance to the victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage, ensuring they can actively participate in the forthcoming District-Level Elections set for December 19, 2023.
In a press briefing titled “Let the citizens know” held on November 1, 2023, Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman overseeing Operations, clarified that even if the affected residents had misplaced their voter ID cards, they could still exercise their voting rights, provided their names were accurately recorded in the commission’s database
“If it is the voter ID card that you have lost and your name is properly entered into the voter’s register, you can still vote without your voter’s ID card,” Mr Tettey said.
However, Samuel Tettey emphasized that the ease of voting for the flood victims would depend on them going to the correct polling stations.
“The difficulty is that, if you go to the wrong polling station, you are going to waste everybody’s time because we may be going through the register and we may not be finding you. But if you go to the right polling station, your name will be on the register and you will be allowed to vote,” Mr Tettey added.
The Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct the provisional voters register exhibition from Friday, November 3, 2023, to Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in preparation for the District Level Elections (DLE).
This exhibition will occur at all 38,622 polling stations across the nation, operating from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the exercise.
The primary purpose of this exhibition is to enable potential voters to verify their personal details, including their name, age, gender, and assigned polling station. Additionally, individuals may request changes or additions if necessary.
Moreover, voters have the option to raise objections to the inclusion of unqualified voters in the register or request the removal of the names of deceased individuals
The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has aborted its plans to embark on a sit-down strike against the Ghana Revenue Authority over the ongoing compliance and monitoring exercise.
“We are pleased to announce that the closure of our shops, which was intended to send a signal to the government and GRA, has been suspended with immediate effect,” said Takyi Addo, the Head of Communications of the association, during a press conference.
The association says it decided to call off the industrial action after engaging the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Customs Division.
The group added that, the Customs Division also addressed the sentiments raised by the dealers by progressively recalling its officers who were earlier deployed to various shops in Accra to police the dealers.
Takyi Addo, however, put on record that the association was not opposing the electronic value-added tax policy, but rather how the decision was taken and enforced.
Takyi Addo, the Head of Communications for the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, addressed the dealers in Accra at a press conference
Six additional members of the Western Togoland Foundation have been sentenced to a total of thirteen years and six months in jail, along with a fine of 1300 penalty units, amounting to GH¢15,600.
These six individuals were involved in blocking roads in Sogakope and attacking police stations in Aveyime and Mepe on September 25, 2020, as part of a plan to secede parts of the Volta, Oti, and Northern regions from Ghana.
Initially, ten accused individuals stood trial and pleaded not guilty to charges related to attending a meeting and being members of a prohibited organization. Ultimately, the court acquitted and discharged four of the accused persons while convicting the remaining six.
The charges stemmed from breaches of sections of the Prohibited Organisations Act 1976 (SMCD 20), which stipulates that a judge may impose a maximum jail term of five years, a maximum fine of 1000 penalty units, or both for individuals convicted under the act.
Prior to sentencing, the lawyers representing the six convicts appealed to the court to show leniency and impose fines rather than custodial sentences.
In the case of the third accused person, Godfred Gabriel Govina, his lawyer requested a fine, emphasizing that he is a first-time offender and the primary provider for his family. The lawyer pointed out that the convict is married to two wives and has nine children, and any further incarceration would have a significant impact on the family. However, Justice Mary Yanzuh sentenced A3 to three years in prison and a fine of 300 penalty units, considering Gabriel Govina’s status as a retired teacher.
For A4, Benjamin Gbadago, the court convicted him to 24 months in prison and a fine of 200 penalty units. He was convicted for being a member of the prohibited Western Togoland Restoration Front and Homeland Study Foundation. His lawyers had requested a non-custodial sentence, citing his poor health.
Cephas Zoddanu, the seventh accused person, was convicted on four counts related to being a member of a prohibited organization, attending meetings of a prohibited organization, and accepting contributions on behalf of a prohibited organization. He received a prison sentence of three years and a fine of 200 penalty units.
The lawyers for A8, Richard Doglo Ametepe, passionately appealed for a fine to be imposed on him rather than a custodial sentence, citing his collapse in court when the conviction was handed down. They also noted that he had already spent about three years in jail, and the maximum sentence for the offense was five years. Despite these pleas, Justice Mary Yanzuh sentenced him to three years in prison and a fine of 200 penalty units.
The ninth accused person, Cosmos Havor, who is also a traditional chief known as Togbe Aszaklo, was convicted for attending meetings and participating in the campaign of a prohibited organization. He took part in an event organized by the Western Togoland Restoration Front on September 1, 2020, where the place was declared an independent state. Upon conviction, his lawyers requested the court to consider his age, 80 years, and the fact that he was a first-time offender. Despite acknowledging the seriousness of the Chief’s actions due to his status, the court imposed a sentence of 24 months in prison and a fine of 400 penalty units due to his age and health.

Foot rot, also known as athlete’s foot, is a common fungal infection that affects the skin of the feet. Here are some home remedies to help alleviate and prevent foot rot:
Proper Foot Hygiene:
Keep your feet clean and dry. Wash them daily with mild soap and warm water, and be sure to dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes.
Tea Tree Oil:
Tea tree oil has natural antifungal properties. Apply a few drops of diluted tea tree oil to the affected areas to help combat the fungal infection.
Vinegar Soak:
Soaking your feet in a mixture of equal parts of white vinegar and warm water for about 15 minutes a day can help kill the fungus and relieve itching.
Baking Soda:
Sprinkle baking soda in your shoes and on your feet to help keep them dry and create an environment less conducive to fungal growth.
Cornstarch or Talcum Powder:
After washing and thoroughly drying your feet, apply cornstarch or talcum powder to absorb moisture and reduce friction.
Garlic:
Garlic has natural antifungal properties. Crush a few cloves of garlic and apply the paste to the affected areas. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil has antifungal properties. Apply it to the affected areas and massage it into the skin to help soothe irritation and combat the fungus.
Change Socks and Shoes:
Wear clean, dry socks made of natural materials like cotton. Rotate your shoes to allow them to air out between uses, and avoid wearing tight-fitting shoes.
Use Antifungal Powder or Cream:
Over-the-counter antifungal powders or creams can be effective in treating foot rot. Follow the product’s instructions for application.
Avoid Walking Barefoot in Public Areas:
Fungi thrive in warm, moist environments. Avoid walking barefoot in public areas, such as gym locker rooms or pool areas, to prevent infection.
Keep Feet Elevated:
Elevating your feet when resting can help reduce swelling and promote better blood circulation.
If the infection persists or worsens despite these home remedies, consult a healthcare professional. They may recommend prescription-strength antifungal treatments or further evaluation. Additionally, individuals with diabetes or compromised immune systems should seek medical advice promptly to manage foot infections.

During his speech in parliament about the budget for the next few years, he mentioned that the economy wasn’t growing well, not enough money was being collected, and the interest costs on the country’s debt were quickly rising. Because of these reasons, it is likely that taxes will be increased.
The government will continue to take steps to reduce its spending. This will involve making its departments smaller. Godogwana said this.

Ghanaian music duo, Keche, has called upon the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, to work diligently in addressing the challenges faced by artists in the country.
They specifically highlighted the issue of royalties paid to musicians by the Ghana Music Rights Organizations (GHAMRO) as a significant problem affecting musicians.
Keche expressed their confidence in Bessa Simons’ ability to help improve the struggling fortunes of the music industry and address the needs of artists, particularly regarding royalty concerns.
The music duo lamented the meager royalties paid to musicians in Ghana, in contrast to artists from other countries who receive substantial sums for similar work.
“One thing I want him [Bessa Simons] to do for us [musicians in Ghana] is that he should work on the royalties of artistes. Some time ago I met Kwadee and he talked about the number of hit songs he has produced yet he has never taken royalties up to GH¢ 1,000 before.
“So this discourages me as an upcoming artistes because of the way the legends who projected us are treated. If you meet an artiste from other countries and they tell you their royalties you would be amazed. So GHAMRO is no more attractive. The rebranding that has been talked about needs to be done. That is why I am happy he [Bessa Simons] is the President now and I know he will do something about it,” Keche said in an interview with Nana Ama McBrown during the Onua Showtime program aired on Onua TV.
He further talked about how Bessa Simons used to admonish him as upcoming artiste.
“Bessa used to advise me as a musician when I was young so I was not surprised when I heard that he had been elected MUSIGA president. Because per the conversation I had with him, you could tell that he has the musicians at heart.”
GHAMRO has faced recurring criticism from musicians for failing to provide the correct amount of royalties owed to them.
