Black market dealer reveals deep secret affecting cedi depreciation

An illegal foreign exchange dealer operating in the black market under the pseudonym Abdullai Mohammed in a recent interview on Adom TV’s Big Agenda show pointed fingers at certain banks in the country for the consistent depreciation of the cedi against the dollar.

According to Mohammed, some banks are dissatisfied with the approved rates set by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) due to their reduced profits.

Allegedly, these banks collaborate with black market dealers to inflate profit margins, contributing to the currency’s devaluation.

Expressing concern over the lack of oversight, Mohammed highlighted the prevalence of dollar shortages in banks juxtaposed with ample availability in the black market.

He claimed that many bank employees maintain relationships with black market agents to sell dollars for additional profit.

The Ghana Federation of Traders, comprising eight trade groups, has joined the discourse by urging the government to slash the exchange rate from GH¢15 to GH¢10.

They’ve warned of potential protests if corrective measures are not promptly implemented, citing the adverse effects of currency depreciation on their businesses.

Contrary to expectations, Mohammed revealed that black market dealers are also adversely affected and advocate for measures to stabilize the cedi.

He proposed that reducing the rates would deter banks from utilizing black market agents, encouraging more people to engage in forex trading through formal banking channels.

My father disciplined me for rapping on TV- Eno Barony

Renowned Ghanaian female rapper Eno Barony recently shared the touching story of her father’s evolution from disapproval to proud acceptance of her rap career, starting from when she first performed on TV at age 15.

Coming from a family with strong religious ties, Eno’s decision to pursue rap rather than follow the expected path of joining the church choir initially caused friction at home.

Despite winning hearts with her rap skills in a competition segment aired on television, her father’s reaction was one of disappointment, citing her attire and deviation from household rules.

Reflecting on the incident during an interview on Accra-based Citi TV, Eno recalled how her father, a reverend minister, reprimanded her for choosing rap and for wearing what he deemed inappropriate clothing.

However, over time, her father’s perspective shifted as he came to accept and appreciate her dedication to her craft and the success it brought her.

Today, Eno Barony’s father proudly acknowledges her celebrity status, though he humorously maintains his steadfast devotion to Jesus as the ultimate celebrity.

“It was a Saturday morning, so, at 5 pm, he sat and watched me perform. After that, I was reprimanded because I was a reverend minister’s daughter and I went to do rap music wearing a short skirt,” she recounted in an interview on Accra-based Citi TV.

“My dad will still tell you Jesus is the only celebrity I know” she added.

  • Lack of incentives for investors to blame for decline in Ghana’s oil production – ACEP

Lack of incentives for investors to blame for decline in Ghana’s oil production – ACEP

Executive Director of the Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP), Ben Boakye has raised alarms about Ghana’s dwindling oil production.

According to the 2023 Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) Annual Report, Ghana has experienced a steady decline in crude oil output for the fourth consecutive year.

The report unveils a concerning trend, showing a substantial drop in crude oil production from 71.44 million barrels in 2019 to 48.25 million barrels in 2023, marking an average annual decrease of 9.2 percent.

Moreover, the report brings to light another troubling discovery: for the second consecutive year, the total proceeds of US$70,456,718.93 from the Jubilee Oil Holdings Limited (JOHL) liftings were not deposited into the Petroleum Holding Fund (PHF).

In an interview on Citi TV’s The Point of View, Ben Boakye attributed this decline to Ghana’s unattractiveness to global investors.

He emphasized the importance of incentivizing existing investors and local companies to attract more investments into the sector.

“When those in your country already producing are not incentivised to put in more money, you are only joking to think you can bring in more investors… Once you are roaming around looking for investors, the narrative globally is that Ghana is not attractive. And that is known to the industry.

“You have Wood Mackenzie, you have all the energy journals saying that Ghana is not attractive, you are only wasting money showing up at events to list what you have or showcase what you have,” he said.

Mr Boakye noted that despite the global constraint on investments, neighbouring Cote D’Ivoire is successfully attracting substantial investments.

“I don’t think it’s a general problem, there’s a general constraint on investments, but again, oil is being consumed, the demand is growing, and therefore, we need to produce it. Countries that are strategizing around broad problems globally are still attracting investments.

“One example you can always reference is our next-door neighbor Cote D’Ivoire, which was not producing significant oil, they have the same investments, we have here,” he said.

Boakye pointed out that while global investment constraints exist, neighboring Cote D’Ivoire has been successful in drawing substantial investments.

He urged the Ghanaian government to strategize and optimize investments to leverage the country’s proven reserves, citing successful examples of countries that have benefited from flexible investment terms.

“We have proven reserves, but there’s room for more exploration and that costs a lot of money. So, you need to attract investments into those fields. If you have money to do it yourself, it’s always an option. But if you don’t have money, you always want to attract investments, discount the investments and be able to share the profits or the benefits,” he mentioned to host Bernard Avle.

The news of Ghana’s falling oil production serves as a wake-up call for strategic investment planning to revitalize the sector and ensure long-term sustainability.

Prominent Ghanaian event and music promoter, Nii Ofori Tackie popularly known as Alordia based in the United Kingdom, has firmly stated that no Ghanaian musician can singlehandedly fill the O2 Arena.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye, reported by MyNewsGh.com, Alordia noted that even Nigerian artists, who manage to fill the O2 Arena in London, do so through collaborative efforts rather than alone.

“When Nigerian artists fill the O2 Arena, it’s not solely the effort of one artist but rather a collective endeavor,” he explained.

“Even when someone like Davido fills the O2 Arena, you’ll see Ghanaian artists like Stonebwoy and King Promise supporting him.”

Alordia emphasized the importance of recognizing the collaborative nature of these achievements: “We often focus on the headline artist, but they receive support from other artists as well. So, if we aim to fill the O2 Arena, it cannot be the endeavor of just one artist.”

He also commented on Medikal’s recent performance at the O2 Indigo, highlighting the collective effort of Ghanaian musicians in making the event a success.

“Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Efya, and other Ghanaian musicians traveled to London to support Medikal at the O2 Indigo, making the show incredibly dynamic and exciting,” he concluded.

LilWin blasts Oboy Siki over lies, insults

Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has voiced his frustration over negative comments made by his colleague, Oboy Siki, in public.

During an interview on Angel FM monitored by GhanaWeb, LilWin criticized Oboy Siki for making unprovoked insults that tarnish his reputation.

He argued that the allegations made by Oboy Siki during media appearances are fabricated and intended to boost Siki’s own public profile.

“This man is a big liar, making false claims about me. His insults don’t bother me since he’s like a father to me, but the issue is that people believe him. He may think he’s promoting my movie, but not everyone sees it that way.

“I have no issues with anyone in the film industry, nor have I quarrelled with them. My concern is the lies and insults he hurls at me on the radio, for which he receives GH¢1,000 and sometimes GH¢1,500 as payment,” said LilWin.

In response, Oboy Siki expressed his displeasure with LilWin’s allegations.

“Kwadwo, are you calling me a liar? Have I ever lied during the time I’ve been with you? I didn’t realize you were this foolish. I don’t get paid when I campaign for you. Shatta Wale blasts Samira Bawumia’s brother for demolishing land property at East Legon

A response to recent reports of property demolitions in Accra allegedly involving Abu Ramadan, brother of Samira Bawumia, dancehall artiste Shatta Wale voiced strong concerns about abuse of power and asset accumulation by those in authority.

During a widely circulated interview, Shatta Wale expressed dismay at such occurrences, asserting that they would not be tolerated in countries where equality is strictly enforced.

“It’s disheartening to hear that the sister of the Vice President’s wife was involved in demolishing people’s homes as though it is a normal issue. No, this cannot be accepted. We must uphold equality. In the UK, even disciplining a child can lead to police intervention,” he remarked.

Shatta Wale emphasized that indiscriminate demolition has become commonplace but should not be normalized.

“Ghana isn’t a country, it is an estate because police officers are building houses. President’s bodyguards are building houses and hospitals for themselves,” he added.

Recently, reports emerged alleging that Abu Ramadan, the Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and brother of Samira Bawumia, was involved in demolishing several buildings in Accra, including properties owned by a brother of Kennedy Agyapong.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Samira Bawumia has refuted any involvement in the reported demolitions carried out by her brother, considering it baseless to link her to the incident merely because of her familial connection to the Deputy NADMO Director-General. She believes such accusations are an attempt to smear her reputation and that of her husband, especially as the country approaches the December elections.

“Who God has blessed, he has blessed indeed”- McBrown jabs some ‘copycats’ imitating her cooking show

Just a few days into the launch of ‘U Cook’ on UTV, Nana Ama McBrown took a moment during a phone interview with Medikal to address what she sees as imitators attempting to replicate her cooking show’s success.

In conversation with Medikal, who expressed interest in appearing on ‘McBrown Kitchen’ to showcase his culinary talents, McBrown noted the emergence of competitors who have adopted her cooking show concept.

McBrown acknowledged their attempts to be competitive while expressing her belief in God: “While I don’t begrudge anyone trying to earn their livelihood, those who are truly blessed by God will always shine.

“We are taking things to another level. I have seen some people busily putting together a cooking show but who God has blessed, he has blessed indeed. Although we all have to eat, those whom God has blessed will shine,” she retorted.

Meanwhile, Empress Gifty has been unveiled as the host of the latest cooking show sensation, ‘U Cook’, which was launched on UTV with notable personalities gracing the event.

The launch comes years after McBrown departed from hosting ‘United Showbiz’ on UTV to join Onua TV, a move that led to her cooking show being taken off the air.

It can be recalled that in an interview with Berla Mundi sometime in 2023, McBrown remained resolute, stating, “Why should I cry if my show isn’t aired?

“McBrown’s Kitchen has a life of its own in the realm of Ghanaian cooking shows. It’s not fading away; it’s thriving. I’m in a place where I feel welcomed.”

She further stated, “I paid for my show at UTV. It was not free. I paid for it. They considered me too sometimes if I am not well. They did some repetitions, but I have signed a contract that I paid. So, if the owners and producers refused to give me the airtime again, then I don’t know.”

Publicly displaying Freemason attire at events is unfitting for your status – Blakk Rasta tells Otumfuo

Musician and media personality Blakk Rasta has criticized Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the king of the Ashanti Kingdom, for publicly wearing a Freemason suit. He contends that such attire is inappropriate for the king’s status and role, arguing that Otumfuo should adhere to traditional dress to maintain the kingdom’s reputation.

Blakk Rasta believes that, despite the Asantehene’s long-standing membership in the Freemasons, it is more suitable for him to wear traditional attire while letting other members don Freemason suits.

He suggested that Otumfuo’s advisors should counsel him against wearing non-traditional attire at public events.

“Why should you dress in a suit, let alone a Freemason suit? You being the king of the Ashanti kingdom is not a joke. Freemasonry is a powerful ancient entity. Do we know what it means to say you would dress in a Freemason suit? I think it’s a disgrace,” Blakk Rasta said during the UrbanBlend show on 3FM.

His comments followed Otumfuo’s revelation that he had been a Freemason for 25 years, coinciding with his tenure on the Golden Stool.

On May 25, 2024, Freemasons from across Ghana and beyond gathered to honor Otumfuo’s 25th anniversary as Asantehene and his membership in the fraternity.

During the event, Otumfuo, known in the Grand Lodge as Most Worshipful Bro Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, reflected on his association with Freemasonry.

“Twenty-five years ago, my initiation into Freemasonry took place. Joining any society or club naturally leads one to contemplate the potential benefits or limitations,” he stated.

Freemasonry, with its roots in the stonemason guilds of the 16th and 17th centuries, is known for its rituals, symbols, and emphasis on moral and ethical teachings.

Despite facing criticisms and suspicions regarding its secrecy and influence, supporters argue that it promotes personal development, ethical behavior, and charitable work.

Today in 2021, a noteworthy revelation emerged from an interview with Ghanaian rapper Medikal.

In a publication stemming from this interview by ghanaguardian.com, Medikal, whose real name is Samuel Adu Frimpong, made an admission regarding his wedding day with actress Fella Makafui.

Rapper Medikal, born Samuel Adu Frimpong, has openly confessed that he was so drunk on his wedding day that he did not realize his wife, Fella Makafui, had collapsed.

According to him, he saw the day as his big day and therefore drank so much that he did not realize what was happening around him.

When asked what he drank, the rapper could not specify but said that it was just a mixture.

Medikal indicated that he never saw his wife collapse on that day because he was unaware of what was happening around him.

When asked whether his wife did it for the hype, he said he could not tell and that people should believe what they want to believe.

“I was drunk on that day, so I don’t remember what was going on. I took some mixture which was made for me, so I don’t know what happened. It was our big day, and that day will never happen again, so I had to celebrate it in full gear. I didn’t know my wife collapsed, but I know she did not go to the hospital; she just went to change,” he said on Kingdom+ FM in Accra, in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

Victoria, related to the driver whose vehicle collided with LilWin’s car, revealed that her in-law and his son were in the front seat at the time of the accident.

The child sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Currently, her in-law is in critical condition and receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

“Tawiah Ampomah passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the hospital, and his father remains in critical condition at KATH,” Victoria explained during an interview with Angel FM.

She added that the family, accompanied by the police, had visited the morgue to view the boy’s body.

Victoria also mentioned that the police investigation is still ongoing, and the matter has yet to be amicably resolved.

LilWin’s management team has reached out to the family to offer their support, according to Victoria.

“The police haven’t updated us on their accident investigation. Our concern is that the child was overlooked when the incident happened, as everyone focused on LilWin. The media, too, has prioritized LilWin over addressing the child’s death and finding solutions,” she said.

“LilWin’s management visited the hospital to discuss supporting the family. We’ve asked them to wait until the police investigation concludes.”

The accident occurred on May 25, 2024, in front of Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi.

LilWin and two others were injured when their Benz collided head-on with another vehicle.

All injured parties, including LilWin, were taken to KATH’s Accident and Emergency Unit.

GN Bank became insolvent in 2017 following the Bank of Ghana’s banking sector clean-up and reforms, which revealed several breaches.

At a recent press briefing, Dr. Ndoum called for a structured repayment plan for loans used to prefinance government projects, aiming to revive his financial institution and repay depositors and creditors whose funds have been locked.

Dr. Ndoum also appealed to the government to reinstate GN Bank’s banking license, asserting that it was once a flourishing financial institution.

“We at Groupe Ndoum recognize the critical need for infrastructure development in this country. We believed the government’s credit was reliable and therefore financed key projects, including cocoa roads and schools, expecting prompt repayment,” he stated.

Dr. Ndoum emphasized, “The government owes us GH¢7.1 billion. If this amount had been paid to contractors six years ago, the issues with Gold Coast/Black Shield and GN Bank wouldn’t exist. We demand that the government fulfill its financial obligations.”

He highlighted that government loans were considered low risk at the time of prefinancing, anticipating timely repayment.

GN Bank was closed by the Central Bank during the sector clean-up due to insolvency and governance issues.

NDC’s targeted attack on my personality is unwarranted – Martin Amidu

Former Special Prosecutor Martin A. B. K. Amidu has accused the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating a targeted attack against him, involving high-profile figures such as Alhassan Suhuyini, Sammy Gyamfi, and spearheaded by NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

Amidu claims these attacks are based on unverified allegations about a petition he supposedly submitted for the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

He expressed confusion over why NDC leader John Dramani Mahama would initiate such an aggressive campaign against him.

In a statement released on May 26, Amidu questioned the authenticity of the petition dated April 30, 2024, and criticized the NDC’s collaboration with media outlets to propagate these claims without providing him the opportunity to respond.

Amidu also cast doubt on the legitimacy of a document attributed to the Chief Justice, citing several inconsistencies and procedural errors that suggest it might be a forgery.

Furthermore, Amidu condemned Joy FM for biased reporting, accusing them and the NDC of failing to publish key documents that would allow him to address the accusations.

Despite the personal attacks, Amidu reaffirmed his commitment to fighting corruption and defending the 1992 Constitution.

“What has really baffled me, and which is what I have been trying to understand, is the reason for which John Dramani Mahama, who is the leader and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has unleashed his NDC attack dogs such as Alhassan Suhuyini, Sammy Gyamfi, and to crown it all, the Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, on me since 17 May 2024.

“I cannot understand why the NDC will collaborate with Kissi Agyebeng’s preferred rented media house and his chief executioner, Sampson Lardy Anyenini, to make allegations against me without publishing the alleged petition on which the allegations are based to provide me the opportunity to confirm or deny my signature and rebut or admit the accusations.

“I have every reason to question the authenticity of the document attributed to the Chief Justice because I established with mathematical precision with the assistance of information and communication technologies (ICT) that a Joint Statement published at the instance of Kissi Agyebeng as a Joint Statement by the OSP and the Judicial Service of Ghana (JSG) was a forgery by the OSP.

“Joy FM and the NDC have refused or failed to publish the letter from the Presidency to the Chief Justice or the alleged petition for purposes of authentication to enable a reasoned response from me as the Joy FM’s accused in its trial in the court of public opinion.

“I will continue to defend the 1992 Constitution against all greedy bastards abusing the rights of citizens under the guise of law enforcement,” he declared.

Renowned entertainment pundit and media personality George Quaye has asserted that musicians who angrily rant about awards after being snubbed do so out of their genuine love for the recognition these awards bring.

Quaye explained on UTV’s United Showbiz that such rants are a natural reaction rooted in their passion for the accolades. He emphasized the importance of recognition in artists’ careers, stating that it’s not just about songs and streams, but also about the validation from prestigious platforms and award schemes.

“Over the years, you would hear musicians ranting about the scheme, saying they don’t need it, blah, blah. It’s all normal. It shows that they love the awards; that’s why they do it,” Quaye remarked.

“For artistes, it is not just about songs and streams; if it were, there would be no Grammys or Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s about the recognition. That recognition is key to their career growth. It’s needed,” he added.

Discussing the African music scene, Quaye noted the challenges of sustaining award schemes, many of which have become defunct. He praised Charterhouse for its resilience in maintaining the Ghana Music Awards.

I won’t be surprised if King Promise wins Artist of the Year award – Halifax

Entertainment pundit and media personality Halifax Ansah-Addo has expressed his belief that Ghanaian Afrobeat artist King Promise is more likely to clinch the prestigious Artist of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) in June 2024, surpassing Stonebwoy.

During a discussion on United Showbiz on UTV on May 27, 2024, Halifax revealed that he initially backed Stonebwoy due to his active engagement with fans and successful music promotion.

“My bet was on Stonebwoy; he’s worked, and he deserves it. His team has also found a nice way of pushing him and his work on us. You get to know what he’s doing, whether you like it or not,” Halifax said.

However, Halifax was taken aback by the extensive body of work King Promise had accumulated.

“Until tonight, I didn’t know King Promise had worked. When they gave me King Promise’s repertoire, I was shocked, and I started to revise my notes. I would not be surprised if King Promise gets it,” he told MzGee, the show’s host.

Halifax acknowledged that King Promise’s efforts had been largely overlooked until recently and suggested that the artist should have been more proactive in engaging with the Ghanaian market.

“I think going forward, people like King Promise should be more deliberate about getting the Ghanaian market involved in the things he does. He is doing so, but it is rather late. I’m not sure they can use this last week to catch up. Unlike Stonebwoy, who over the years has been vocal about his activities,” he said.

King Promise and Stonebwoy are among the artists vying for the ‘Artist of the Year’ award, alongside Black Sherif, Nacee, and Sarkodie, making it one of the most competitive and prestigious categories at the awards ceremony.

Cheddar needs no crowd funding; he is already rich – Mona Gucci

TV show host Mona Gucci has voiced her skepticism about Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, and his recent political crowdfunding initiative.

Gucci argues that despite Cheddar’s wealth, he lacks the grassroots support and achievements needed to justify public financial backing for his campaign.

Gucci highlighted how Ghana’s major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), have established strong support networks capable of rallying donations from their followers.

She contrasted Cheddar’s situation with that of activist-turned-politician A Plus, who is self-funding his campaign and has gained public favor through community projects.

“You’re a political starter who has done nothing. If A Plus wants to crowdfund his campaign, I will freely donate because of the boreholes and other projects he is undertaking in a short while,” Gucci stated on her show, Biribi Gyegyewo.

Emphasizing Cheddar’s opulent lifestyle, she added, “Cheddar is very luxurious, he has a portrait of his mom in one of his buildings worth about a million dollars. Those artefacts can be sold and used to fund his campaign.”

Funny Face flaunts new lover on social media

Netizens have been left astonished by Funny Face‘s latest social media post featuring his new girlfriend.

The comic actor, who is reportedly healing and taking a break from a tumultuous past relationship, shared a video showcasing his new partner.

On his Instagram page, a series of photos revealing the woman’s curves were posted with the caption, “The love of my life.”

This is not the first time Funny Face has introduced his new flame online. Just days ago, he posted a video of their shared moments, showing them cozy in a vehicle.

However, netizens have expressed disapproval regarding Funny Face’s apparent rush into a new relationship without addressing the aftermath of his previous one with Vanessa.

Many questioned his seeming inability to avoid entanglements, especially with women with heavy backsides, despite past adversities.

Furthermore, his decision to pursue romance amid his ambitious “Funny Land” kids park project drew criticism, with online observers deeming it a potential distraction.

During an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay) in 2022, she advised Funny Face to distance himself from romantic entanglements and focus on rebuilding his life, emphasizing his second chance at life.

Following an ugly breakup with his baby mama and its aftermath, Funny Face has since advocated for caution in selecting life partners.

Having weathered the storm of a bitter breakup and subsequent fallout, the comic actor has urged young men to learn from his experiences and exercise discernment in their romantic pursuits.

Since his breakup with Vanessa in 2021, Funny Face has been involved in a series of public outbursts and misconduct, some of which landed him in prison and at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

Contemplating suicide several times, defaming showbiz industry giants including his mentors, and engaging in a gunfight are some of the misconducts he has been involved in.

Some netizens attribute his behavior to a series of mental breakdowns resulting from his bitter relationship with his baby mama and his inability to access his children.

Funny Face has frequently lamented being denied access to his children by their mother, highlighting the emotional toll it takes on him.

Despite fleeting moments of hope for reconciliation, Funny Face has encountered repeated disappointment as attempts to reconnect with his kids are thwarted by their mother’s actions.

  • Baba Sadiq speaks on Stonebwoy’s absence from 2024 Salla Fest

Baba Sadiq speaks on Stonebwoy’s absence from 2024 Salla Fest

Parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central Constituency Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu has finally spoken to Stonebwoy and his manager, Chief, after they failed to honor a reported pro bono booking for his recent music event.

Baba Sadiq spoke to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z program on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

He said that since the April 11 Salla Fest, he had struggled to reach Stonebwoy and the team via “a couple of messages and calls”.

“Last week Tuesday,” however, he finally spoke to Chief, “and I spoke to Stonebwoy on Wednesday,” he explained.

The 3 Media Network founder said: “I think Chief reached out to my guy Ricky regarding a few things they had seen online and was speaking to me about it, and then there was an opportunity to speak about Salla, and then what they felt about it. For instance, why after the event, there wasn’t any statement or communication from us regarding Shatta’s outbursts? I mean, I did explain to him. There was something also he brought up that we discussed.”

He noted, ultimately, “Until then, I didn’t know why [they] didn’t show up” for Salla Fest at Abeka main street, Accra.

Without quoting Chief or Reggae/Dancehall singer Stonebwoy’s words, Mr. Abdulai Abu said: “I think he made the point that until – even on the day, on the night – they would have wanted to come, I mean, they just weren’t comfortable with the inclusion of Shatta Wale.”

Dadzie sought to confirm Chief saying this, to which Abu responded: “No, he communicated this.”

“He essentially made me aware that: ‘Look, we, I, know what exists’. So they didn’t really feel comfortable with Shatta’s inclusion,” he stressed.

Furthermore, he added, “I had to clarify some of the things Shatta was saying” on the stage because of their absence.

Baba Sadiq categorically stated, also, “There was no payment” involved in Stonebwoy performing for the Salla Fest event.

The entertainment entrepreneur is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central Constituency.

When Reggae/Dancehall singer Shatta Wale observed his rival Stonebwoy did not show up at Salla Fest to perform ahead of him, he ranted and insulted him, mocking him for once limping due to a now-corrected disability in his right leg.
