Israel has rejected the request from the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, to temporarily stop the conflict in Gaza for humanitarian reasons.
Mr Blinken talked about the idea with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials when they met in Tel Aviv.
But in a TV statement a few minutes later, Mr. Netanyahu said that Israel refuses to accept a short-term pause in fighting that doesn’t include the freedom of our captured people.
He said that Israel was using all their strength to fight against Hamas.
The US government tried to help with diplomacy while Israeli military leaders said they surrounded Gaza City and were fighting in a complicated urban environment.

Amani left her family in Gaza to go to school in the UK right before the war started. Now she is very worried as she keeps a close eye on something.
Israel started attacking after Hamas fighters killed 1,400 people in Israel and took more than 240 hostages. They used air force and ground forces in their attack.
Israel has attacked and caused the deaths of at least 9,200 people in Gaza, as reported by the health ministry run by Hamas.
During his trip to Tel Aviv, Mr Blinken expressed that the US will keep supporting Israel. He also asked Israel to take definite actions to ensure the safety of Palestinian civilians.
Mr Blinken said that today we discussed some important questions. These questions were about how to use a break in fighting to help more people in need, how to link the break to the freeing of hostages, and how to make sure that Hamas doesn’t take advantage of these breaks or agreements.
He observed that over 100 trucks with aid arrived in Gaza within the last day, even though they were not allowed before. However, he mentioned that this amount was still insufficient.
Mr Blinken visited the region for the second time in a month and mentioned that the US has been guiding Israel on reducing civilian casualties while also dealing with Hamas. And he said that they talked about practical steps to send more help, like fuel, to reach Gaza.
However, Mr Netanyahu strongly stated that he would not permit any fuel to enter the Gaza Strip. He has also refused any discussion about stopping the fighting.
The Israeli Prime Minister said that Israel will not agree to a temporary pause in fighting unless our hostages are released.
The US secretary of state said that Israel can only become more secure by forming a Palestinian state.
He said that the US has always believed in having two separate states for two different groups of people. Once again, this is the only way to guarantee long-term safety for Israel as a Jewish and democratic country.
During a press conference with the Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Mr. Blinken said that Israel has the responsibility to protect itself and make sure that the events of 7 October don’t occur again.
Mr Herzog mentioned that Israel is making big efforts to let people in Gaza know about airstrikes. He showed a pamphlet that is being dropped there, advising civilians to leave the northern area affected by the war.
While the two men were talking, some people outside were shouting through a loudspeaker on a street nearby. These people were the families of Israelis who had been kidnapped.
Media caption means providing a brief description or explanation that accompanies a media file, such as a video or image.
Mr Herzog expressed sympathy for them, while Mr. Blinken mentioned that the US is constantly thinking about our hostages.
“We have a lot of people, including Israelis, Americans, and others, and we are committed to doing everything possible to bring them back safely to reunite with their families and loved ones,” he said.
White House officials talked to reporters on a conference call and said that Hamas was not allowing people from other countries to leave Gaza.
One of the officials said that it would take a long break in the Israeli offensive to have any chance of freeing the hostages.
Showing the political pressure that Mr. Biden is experiencing from the left-wing of his party, one Democratic representative criticized him harshly on Friday.
Rashida Tlaib, a congresswoman from Michigan, accused the president of not doing enough to stop the killing of Palestinian people and called it genocide. She is the only US lawmaker who has Palestinian heritage.
She said, “If you don’t support a ceasefire now, don’t expect us to support you in the 2024 election. ”
The person in charge of the United States’ foreign affairs is currently in Jordan. Jordan recently called back its ambassador from Israel.
This Saturday, the highest-ranking American diplomat will have a meeting with Arab leaders. These leaders have been speaking out more and more against Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Israel acknowledges airstrikes on an ambulance outside a hospital
Israel has admitted to attacking an ambulance near Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital. The hospital is the biggest medical center in the area, and many people have reported that the attack caused the death and injury of many individuals.
On Friday, the health authorities controlled by Hamas said that more than 15 people were killed and around 50 others were injured. A video from the area showed at least twelve injured people with blood on them lying on the ground close to an ambulance. It looks like one of the cars has been damaged by pieces of metal at the place of the accident.
Israel said that it attacked the ambulance because it was being used by Hamas, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). “A military plane hit an ambulance that soldiers believed was being used by a group of Hamas terrorists near their location in the combat area. “
Several Hamas members were killed in the attack. We know that Hamas often uses ambulances to transport their members and weapons.
The ambulance strike made UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres repeat his request for a stop in the fighting in Gaza, but Israel said no.
Guterres said he was very scared about the news of an attack that happened in Gaza, where an ambulance convoy outside Al Shifa hospital was targeted.
“He said that the pictures of bodies lying on the street outside the hospital are very upsetting. He also mentioned that he remembers the acts of violence by Hamas in Israel, including the killing, injuring, and kidnapping of women and children. “”We demand that all people being held captive in Gaza are freed right away and without any conditions. “
He said that for almost a month, people in Gaza, even children and women, have been trapped, not receiving help, getting killed, and having their homes destroyed. He said that this needs to end.
A representative from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, who was at Al-Shifa Hospital, stated that Israel was accountable for the assault.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that one of their ambulances was in the group of vehicles that were attacked, but none of their team members were hurt in the incident.
According to the PCRS, the ambulance was harmed when a shell landed close to it. When the Al-Shifa hospital’s gate was reached, it was attacked again. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that a separate ambulance from the Ministry of Health was also hit, resulting in the death and injury of numerous people in the vicinity.
Rewrite this text in simple words:Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra explained that the hospital had arranged for a group of medical personnel to travel together, and they had let the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) know about it.
He said the group of vehicles was going to the Rafah Crossing, which is at the southern border of the trapped area. This crossing is seen as the only chance for the people of Gaza to getaway from the bombs that Israel is dropping on the area.
“When the ambulances went towards the south, Israel attacked the ambulances in many places, even at the entrance of the Al-Shifa medical compound,” he said. “The Israeli occupation purposely attacked those ambulances. “
The International Committee of the Red Cross told CNN that they received a request to go with the convoy before it left. However, it said in a later statement that although it knew about the planned movement of a group of vehicles taking injured patients from northern Gaza to the south of the area on Friday, it was not involved in the process.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said that even if we weren’t there, this is still a medical convoy. It is never okay to use violence against medical workers. They said that no doctors, nurses, or any medical professionals should ever lose their lives while doing their job of saving lives.
Al-Shifa Hospital is being increasingly involved in the conflict as Israel recently said that the hospital is an important place for Hamas to control and give orders.
Palestinians said that the Israeli army’s claim is not true. The leader of the Gaza Health Ministry, Dr. [DirectorGeneral’sName], Medhat Abbas, said to CNN recently that Gaza’s hospitals are solely used for treating patients and not for protecting anyone.
Hamas also disagreed with the statement, asking the United Nations, Arab, and Islamic nations to step in and stop the bombings and destroying of the medical system.
The place is in a very crowded area called the Gaza Strip, which is about 140squaremiles. The Israeli military is attacking and surrounding the area.
Hamas, aid groups, and many countries have asked Israel to stop fighting, but the government has refused. They want to destroy Hamas because of their recent attack that killed over 1,400 Israelis, mostly innocent people.
In Gaza, more and more innocent people are getting hurt as Israel attacks big neighborhoods where people live, schools, and some areas near hospitals. Israel claims they are only targeting military sites. Over 9,100 people have died in Israeli attacks in the Strip since October 7, according to the latest numbers from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah. The information was gathered from sources in the Hamas-controlled area.
The constant bombing has made it really hard for Gaza’s hospitals to keep going. They are running out of important things like supplies and fuel.
In his statement about the ambulance strike, Guterres also talked about the urgent and difficult situation for the people in Gaza.
The situation in Gaza is verybad for the people living there. There is not enough food, water, and medicine to meet people’s needs. We are running out of fuel for hospitals and water plants.
Theemployees at Al-Shifa hospital are very tired, and there is not enough fuel to keep the lights on in the hospital rooms. This is causing problems with important things like making oxygen. Only one surgery room, the emergency area, and the specialized unit for critical patients called the ICU are still working,Dr. Yousef Abu Al-Rish, who is in charge of the hospitals in Gaza, said in a video that CNN obtained. -

One of the 72 employees killed in Gaza was disabled woman in her 20s – UN report
Taking a break from talking about Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, the UN relief agency for Palestinians, UNRWA, has announced that 72 of its workers have been killed in Gaza during the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
A young colleague with disabilities in her mid-20s, along with her family, was killed in northern Gaza, according to spokeswoman Juliette Touma speaking to the BBC.
The UN is taking care of 700,000 people who are living in shelters that are too crowded. In some of these shelters, up to 100 people have to share one toilet.
She repeated the UN’s request for a pause in fighting, stating that it should have happened earlier. Israel has said no to pleas for a stop in fighting. Many countries, including the UK and US, have not agreed with the UN’s request for a ceasefire. Instead, they are suggesting temporary breaks to allow humanitarian assistance. The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, is currently in Israel. -

US drones reportedly scanning Gaza for hostages
US officials have said that surveillance drones from the US are flying over Gaza to assist in finding hostages who were taken when Hamas and Israel started fighting on October 7th.
According to two unnamed US officials, Reuters said that the drone flights have been happening for more than a week.
Two people who work for the US government said that there were flights, and they told this to a news station called CBS, which is partnered with the BBC.
Another report from the New York Times mentioned that the drones, called MQ-9 Reapers, are being used mostly in the southern part of Gaza, and they do not have any weapons.
Some of the flights have been seen on a public website called Flightradar24
The US military and other countries like the UK and Italy use MQ-9 Reaper drones in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.
Israel does not rely on other countries for drones and makes its own within the country. -

Chief of Hezbollah to speak out over Israel-Gaza conflict
Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, a Shia Islamist group in Lebanon, is speaking to his supporters in his first public statement since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.
The speech will probably tell us what the group plans to do next. Right now, their fighters and the Israeli army are attacking each other a lot on the border between Lebanon and Israel.
This has made people worried that the area might become involved in the war.
Until now, the violence has mostly been controlled.
Ever since the 7 October attacks by Hamas, where over 1,400 people died, Lebanon has been very worried and keeping a close eye on Hezbollah.
The group is attacking Israel more often, and in response, Israel is fighting back. However, both parties have tried to prevent a situation from getting worse and most attacks have only happened near the border.
But this might be different in the future.
Israel is continuing its attack on Gaza, aiming to get rid of Hamas. The health ministry controlled by Hamas says that more than 9,000 Palestinians have been killed in the area.
Hamas keeps asking its friends to help in the fight, and people are curious if Hezbollah will respond to those requests.
Hezbollah is a big group in Lebanon that is seen as a terrorist organization by countries like the UK and the US. This means that the decisions made by the group have a big impact on more than just the people who support them. Many people, both supporters and enemies, are eagerly waiting for Nasrallah’s speech.
Nasrallah’s location is unknown, as always.
The group is organizing public events across the country where his address will be shared. Hezbollah sees this as an important moment. They did something unusual by telling people about it five days ahead of time. And earlier this week, they made exciting short videos with Nasrallah, which made people think something important was going to be announced.
The game Nasrallah is playing where he tries to predict something.
Many people in Lebanon still remember the terrible war that Hezbollah fought against Israel in 2006, and they are concerned that Hezbollah might involve the country in another war.
Hezbollah wants to destroy Israel. They think Israel is a stronger enemy than Hamas. Hezbollah has many different weapons, including special missiles that can hit far into Israel, and a large group of well-trained fighters.
The leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that he will react very strongly if Hezbollah starts fighting in another place during the conflict. The US advised Israel not to start a big fight with the group, and has sent two large ships to the eastern Mediterranean to stop the conflict from spreading.
A big war would be very bad for Lebanon, and most people outside of Hezbollah’s followers do not want it. The country has been going through a tough financial crisis for a long time, and there is no working government because of a disagreement in politics.
Another possibility – which many experts believe is the most likely – is that the group will carry out more attacks as a reaction to Hamas’s requests, but they will only target areas in the northern part of Israel.
The Biden government is cautioning Iran, both in public and in private, not to make the situation worse. Iran supports a group called the Axis of Resistance. This group includes Hezbollah, which is the most important force in the alliance. There are also other armed groups in Iraq, Syria (led by President Bashar al-Assad), Yemen (known as the Houthis), and Palestine (represented by Hamas) that Iran supports.
We are not sure how much control Tehran has over these groups, but it is probably safe to say that they do not make important decisions without Iran’s approval.
The Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, said that Israel has done really bad things that are making people very angry, and everyone might have to do something about it. Washington, he said, is telling us not to take any action, but they continue to strongly support Israel.
A confidential person close to Hezbollah informed me last week that Nasrallah, who often speaks out against Israel and the United States, was carefully following the situation and communicating regularly with the group’s military leaders, even though he hasn’t been speaking publicly.
“Hezbollah is completely aware of every small piece of information,” the source said. “They constantly do math. “ -

More British citizens start to evacuate Gaza
Many British citizens are leaving Gaza because the Palestinian authorities said that almost 100 of them can go to Egypt on Friday.
Over 90 individuals on the list of the Palestinian border authority are identified as British citizens in the UK section.
The parents of Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf’s spouse were stuck in Gaza since 7 October, but now they have been able to exit through the Rafah crossing, according to his office.
Approximately 200 people from Britain are thought to be in Gaza.
A few people have started to leave after some foreigners and injured Palestinians were let to go to Egypt through the crossing for the first time since Wednesday.
The border crossings in and out of Gaza have been closed since 7 October. This happened because Hamas, a group that is considered a terrorist organization in the UK, attacked Israel. Their attack caused the death of over 1,400 people and they also took more than 240 people as hostages.
After that, the Israeli army bombed Gaza a lot, blocked off the area completely, and recently attacked it on the ground from the north. The health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, says that over 9,000 individuals have died.
The list published by Palestinian authorities in the UK has 127 names. Out of these, 92 are said to be British citizens. But it is not known if the rest, most of whom are said to be Palestinian, also have citizenship in two countries.
Mr Yousaf’s in-laws, Elizabeth and Maged El-Nakla, who live in Dundee, were on the list of people waiting to leave Gaza. They got trapped there while visiting their family and couldn’t leave because the borders closed.
On Friday, the first minister and his wife Nadia announced that her parents have left Gaza. However, it is not mentioned whether they have arrived in Egypt.
The couple thanked the people who helped their parents recently, including the crisis team from the Foreign Office.
“Over the past four weeks, our family has been going through a very difficult and distressing time. We are extremely grateful for all the comforting messages and prayers we have received from people all around the world, including those from various political beliefs in Scotland and the UK,” they expressed.
Security minister Tom Tugendhat said on Friday that the British government is being careful in providing an exact number of people who can leave because they have no control over the border or the situation inside Gaza.
“He said on BBC Breakfast that we should not give people fake hope or false belief that they can cross today. ”
Mr Tugendhat said there is a list of people that have been allowed to leave Gaza. Both the Egyptian and Israeli governments have agreed to it.
He said the list has been approved by the UK government and includes British citizens, as well as their dependents or entitled individuals.
The UK has sent a team of Border Force officers to Cairo and consular officials to Arish, near Rafah. They are there to help UK citizens who have left Gaza.

Dr Emilee Rauschenberger, a university professor who lives in Salford, said that the situation in Rafah is very disorganized. Many people are having a hard time getting to the southern part of Gaza because they don’t have cars or other means of transportation.
On the BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, she said that there is no process to separate people who can leave from those who want to cross but are not listed, which causes a lot of stress.
After waiting for a long time at the Gaza border, the family finally crossed over to Egypt. In Egypt, they received food and water and were checked by doctors and nurses.
Dr Rauschenberger mentioned that the British embassy informed her about 10 British people who work for aid agencies or international organizations. They crossed over on Thursday.
The UK government has given the Israeli and Egyptian authorities a list of British citizens and their family members who need medical help the most.
Dr Ahmed Abou Foul, who lives in Birmingham, said that 16 people from his family, including eight kids, are trying to leave Gaza and they are on the list for evacuation.
He feels both good and bad about the news because his sisters-in-law and their young children cannot leave since their names are not on the list.
On Friday, Dr Abou Foul spoke to BBC Breakfast and said that his family doesn’t understand why they have been left out. He mentioned that they were promised something by the Foreign Office, but it hasn’t been delivered. -

About 100 British citizens scheduled to depart Gaza
Almost 100 people from Britain have been given permission to leave Gaza and go to Egypt on Friday.
The Palestinian border authority has a list of approved foreigners in the UK. There are 127 people on this list, and 92 of them are British citizens.
Out of the remaining 35 names, most of them are Palestinians. There are two people who are listed as dependents from Ireland, and one woman from Morocco.
Around 200 people from the United Kingdom are thought to be in Gaza.
We are not sure yet if the Rafah border will be open on Friday. However, on Wednesday, some people from other countries and Palestinians who are injured started to be allowed to leave Gaza and go to Egypt through the crossing.
A few British people have already left along with many other foreigners leaving Gaza this week.
Since 7 October, the border crossings in and out of Gaza have been shut down. This happened because Hamas, a terrorist organization banned in the UK, attacked Israel. They caused the death of over 1,400 individuals and held 240 people as hostages.
After that, the Israeli army has carried out a very large bombing attack on Gaza, isolated the area completely, and just now started a ground attack on the northern part of Gaza. The health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, says that over 9,000 individuals have lost their lives.
On Friday, the security minister, Tom Tugendhat, stated that the British government is being careful in providing an exact count of the number of people who can be rescued. This is because they do not have control over the border or the situation inside Gaza.
“What we want to avoid is giving people unrealistic expectations that they will be able to cross today,” he said during an interview on BBC Breakfast.
Mr Tugendhat said that there is a list of people who have been given permission to leave Gaza quickly. The Egyptian and Israeli governments have agreed to this.
He said that the UK government has approved the list to include British citizens, as well as dependent or entitled individuals.
The UK has sent a group of Border Force members to Cairo and consular officials to Arish, close to Rafah. They are there to help UK citizens who have left Gaza.
Dr Abdel Hammad, a surgeon from Liverpool, was able to leave through the Rafah crossing into Egypt on Thursday, according to his family.
The UK government said that two aid workers from the UK successfully crossed the border into Gaza through a crossing called Rafah. This crossing is not under the control of Israel. The Foreign Office stated on Thursday that some people from the UK were able to cross the border between Gaza and Egypt. However, they didn’t give any information about the exact number.
A person with citizenship in both the UK and the US, who was in Gaza with her family, said that her British-Palestinian husband was allowed to cross the border because he was with his family and on the list of US citizens who could leave.
Dr Emilee Rauschenberger, a teacher who lives in Salford, said that things are very disordered and confusing in Rafah. Many people are finding it difficult to travel to the southern part of Gaza because they don’t have cars or any other means of transportation.
She said on BBC Radio 4’s Today show on Friday that there was no way to separate people who could leave from those who wanted to but couldn’t, causing a lot of stress.
After waiting for a long time on the Gazan side of the border, the family successfully entered Egypt. In Egypt, they received food, water, and medical attention.
Dr Rauschenberger was informed by the British embassy in Egypt that approximately 10 British citizens, who she believes are employed by aid agencies or other international organizations, also crossed over on Thursday.
The UK government has shared a list with the Israeli and Egyptian authorities. This list includes British citizens and their family members and is organized based on their medical vulnerability.
Dr Ahmed Abou Foul, who works in Birmingham, said that 16 of his family members are in the process of trying to leave Gaza. This includes eight children.
He feels both good and bad about the news because his two young nieces and their moms cannot go since their names are not on the list.

The borders of Gaza have been shut since Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October.
Officials from western countries say that the border crossing at Rafah is going to keep opening for short periods of time, in order to let people with passports from other countries and civilians who have been hurt, leave.
The officials say that Egypt and Israel will make a list of the people who can go across the border. The embassies of the countries involved will be told about the list in advance so they can get ready to help their citizens.

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is pleased that Egypt has agreed to allow medical evacuations.
However, he cautioned that we should not lose focus on the much larger needs of many sick people in Gaza. These patients are very delicate and cannot be transported to other places.
We need to make medical aid go faster into Gaza right away. Hospitals should be shielded from being attacked or used by the military.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that over one-third of Gaza’s hospitals are not working properly. The remaining hospitals are also struggling because they are overloaded with a large number of injured people.
Gaza’s health ministry says that over 20,000 people have gotten hurt.

“But it is also difficult to reach the border because there is not enough fuel available,” he explained. I saw people coming to the border on a cart pulled by a donkey, carrying their bags.
More British citizens who plan to cross soon include the parents of Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf.
He was happy to hear that the border was being opened, but he mentioned that his in-laws were stuck without clean water to drink and their supplies were running out quickly. -

British to withdraw from Gaza ‘in stages’ – Foreign Ministry
The British people leaving Gaza will probably happen gradually in the next few days, said the UK Foreign Office.
The Rafah border crossing with Egypt will be open for specific and limited amounts of time for people to pass through. It will also let severely injured people leave the area.
On Wednesday, the first group of people from other countries and Palestinians who were hurt were allowed to cross.
Around 200 British people are thought to be in Gaza.
People in Gaza were not able to leave since 7th October because of the attacks by Hamas on Israel. Many people were killed and some were taken hostage.
The health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, reported that over 8,700 people have died since Israel started bombing in response.
Israel has complete control over the air and shoreline areas of Gaza. They closely monitor and restrict the movement of people and items.
The first vehicles carrying injured people from Gaza have now gone into Egypt
Around 500 people can go to the Egyptian side of the Rafah border every day.
The border authority in Gaza has made a list of many names. These names are of people who have dual citizenship or are from other countries. They are being told they can leave through the crossing on Wednesday.
Among them are two people from Britain who work for organizations that are not part of the government. We do not know the day when they will leave.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, and Middle East minister Lord Ahmad had discussions with leaders from Egypt, Israel, and Qatar.
The Egyptian and Israeli authorities will create lists of people who are leaving, and they will inform the embassies ahead of time so they can get ready to welcome their citizens.
Mr Cleverly mentioned that teams from the UK in Egypt are prepared to help British people once they can return home.
“It is extremely important that urgent and life-saving help can reach Gaza as soon as possible,” he said in a statement on X, previously known as Twitter.
Officials from Western countries have sent a group of people to Arish, which is about 25 miles away from Rafah, to make sure they can give the required medical, consular, and administrative help.
Both Mr Sunak and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer want to temporarily stop the fighting in Gaza so that humanitarian assistance can be provided.
Humanitarian pauses are shorter than formal ceasefires. They often only last for a few hours.
According to the United Nations, these actions are usually done solely to help people in need, rather than to find permanent political solutions. -

Islamic leader denounces firing of Paul Bristow over Gaza letter
An Islamic leader said it was very wrong for a Conservative MP to be fired from the government just because he called for a stop to the fighting in Gaza.
Peterborough politician Paul Bristow was asked to step down from his position after he sent a letter to the prime minister urging for a permanent halt to fighting in order to prevent loss of life.
Number 10 said that the comments were not the same or similar. Working together and taking responsibility as a group.
Abdul-Muquaddas Choudhuri stated that Mr. Bristow did not do anything that was against the rules or inappropriate.
Mr Bristow will continue to be an MP. He used to work as an assistant to the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology, Michelle Donelan.
He sent a letter to Rishi Sunak on October 26th, after having discussions in his area, including with the Joint Mosques Council in Peterborough, about Gaza.
Mr Choudhuri, who is the leader of the council, said that the firing was really shameful and he was correct in asking for a halt to the fighting.
“Mr Choudhuri said that we are very mad and upset because he didn’t do anything wrong. ”
The government of Rishi Sunak did something very wrong and unfair by firing him only because of his words.
Mr Bristow wrote a letter on Facebook saying that his constituents are feeling very sad and hurt, and some of them have been personally impacted.
After quitting, Mr Bristow said: “I completely understand why the prime minister has asked me to resign. ”
Working together as a government is an important part of our democracy. It was a job that I really liked, so I feel sad about not being able to do it anymore.
However, ultimately I have a bigger duty to the people I represent.
Many people in my area care a lot about this issue, and I feel I can now openly talk about it from a position outside the government, rather than being part of it.
Mr Bristow has been the representative for Peterborough since 2019 and won by a margin of 2,580 votes.
He also said it was very cynical to imply that he was trying to win votes before a possible election when we’re discussing people dying.
“Those who have heard me speak about human rights and injustices during my time as a member of Parliament will notice that my current stance aligns with my previous statements,” he added.
Mr Sunak has approved “specific pauses” in the conflict to help deliver aid, but his spokesperson said he does not support a ceasefire because it would only benefit Hamas. The UK considers Hamas a terrorist group.
A spokesperson for Number 10 said that Paul Bristow has been asked to leave his job in the government because he made comments that didn’t go along with the idea of working together as a team.
Israel’s leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that if we agree to a ceasefire, it would mean giving up to Hamas. -

Israeli tanks approach Gaza City gradually
There have been just concise remarks from the Israeli military, saying it’s growing ground tasks.
Yet, what we’re hearing from inside Gaza is that tanks and heavily clad vehicles are moving consistently towards Gaza City – where the IDF says Hamas has an organization of passages utilized as an order and control focus.
We comprehend from associates that Israeli powers have entered the northern neighborhoods of Gaza City – and that there are reinforced vehicles on both of the principal north-to-south streets.
One comes the coast from the north of Gaza City, and different goes through the center of the Strip toward the south of the city.
What is indistinct now is what could befall regular folks. We realize that there are a huge number of individuals who have not regarded the Israeli military’s call to move from the northern portion of the Gaza Strip south.
Presently apparently those in Gaza City could be stuck there.

Israel is attempting to prevent civilian casualties – President
Israeli President Isaac Herzog has emphatically shielded his country’s tactical tasks in Gaza.
In a BBC interview, he demanded Israel was putting “a gigantic concentration” on decreasing regular citizen losses.
Gotten some information about UN figures that almost 70% of in excess of 8,000 passings were ladies and kids, he said nobody believed them should address the cost.
Be that as it may, he said Israel was battling “a harsh foe which had done stunning outrages”.
On 7 October, Hamas sent off phenomenal assaults on southern Israel, killing in excess of 1,400 individuals and kidnapping in excess of 230 individuals.
Mr Herzog said Israel needed to annihilate Hamas’ foundation.
He blamed the gathering, assigned as a fear based oppressor association by the UK and numerous other Western legislatures, of terminating rockets from inside individuals’ homes.
Israel went after, he said, when it saw “psychological militants who are attempting to go after us or send off things against us”.
Israel’s Middle Easterner neighbors, including nations who enjoy marked harmony settlements with the Jewish state, have cautioned that rising non military personnel setbacks in Gaza would drive the district into a lot more extensive blaze.
“We tune in and we regard them,” he said, yet entirely added that “we, most importantly, need to deal with our residents”.
‘We’re assisting individuals with moving out’
Gotten some information about nearly day to day admonitions from Israel’s nearest partner, the US, to practice alert, he answered that Israel was being mindful and it “couldn’t be estimated in numbers”.
The president likewise said Israel was in day to day touch with the US, UK and other Western partners about acquiring more helpful guide to Gaza.
The US has said 100 trucks a day will before long be permitted to enter southern Gaza through the Rafah crossing with Egypt. The UN has more than once cautioned that “main a stream” was overcoming amidst Gaza’s “compassionate calamity”.
The president denied reports that Israel was all the while besieging southern Gaza, where the UN expresses in excess of 1,000,000 Gazans have escaped after Israel over and over cautioned them to leave the northern piece of the domain.
On Monday, UNRWA Official General Philippe Lazzarini cautioned “no spot was protected in Gaza”.
“Genuinely talking, the protected zone in the south is a protected zone,” Mr Herzog said, denying reports from the UN that even its own safe houses had experienced harsh criticism.
“We were working as indicated by the guidelines of global regulation to request that individuals move out to the protected zone, we gave them alarms, we’re assisting them with moving out.”
Gotten some information about Israeli air strikes near Gaza’s clinics, the president determinedly expressed that clinics themselves wouldn’t be designated.
Going to the subject of in excess of 200 prisoners, including many ethnicities, held by Hamas, Mr Herzog said it was Israel’s first concern, as well as the global local area’s, to bring them home.
In any case, he said Israel had still not seen any genuine proposition worth considering in the serious dealings intervened by the Bay province of Qatar.
Representatives informed on the discussions told the BBC last week that the dealings had been pushing ahead until Israel extended its ground activities.
Mr Herzog portrayed his gatherings with the groups of the prisoners as “the most troublesome gatherings I’ve at any point had in my life”.
Also, he discussed Israel’s significant injury.
“My country is in profound misery, individuals of Israel are in profound, uncommon desolation, we are grieving. We’re an alternate country in many regards, right now,” he said.
This was additionally influencing the way in which Israelis saw the future, he said. He wouldn’t be drawn on how Israel sees the eventual fate of Gaza once the conflict closes.
“At the present time, the mental, close to home discussion is major areas of strength for so Israel as far as how we push ahead.”
“This was a reminder on 7 October… reality broke our convictions. We see such outrages and we ask, might we at any point trust anyone?”

I comprehend pleas for ceasefire in Gaza – Starmer
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has said he comprehends requires a truce in Gaza, however contended it was not the “right position” right now.
In excess of 60 Work MPs have required a truce, yet Sir Keir demanded his position of requiring a philanthropic respite was “the main solid methodology”.
He said a respite would permit help to get in to Gaza and for regular citizens to leave.
He contended that a truce would leave Hamas’ framework in salvageable shape, empowering them to complete future assaults.
Tending to a group of people in London, the Work chief had looked to suppress the developing pressures in his party over the contention.
City chairmen Sadiq Khan and Andy Burnham, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar and 15 frontbenchers are among the people who have veered from the authority partisan division on the issue.
Something like 250 councilors have additionally required a truce, with around 30 councilors leaving the party over the administrative role’s on the conflict.
In the interim, Andy McDonald has been suspended as a Work MP, over what the party portrayed as “profoundly hostile” remarks at a supportive of Palestinian meeting.
Following his discourse, Sir Keir was over and over inquired as to whether Work frontbenchers separating from the party position would be sacked.
He said the party was bound together on needing to see an “mitigation of this dreadful circumstance” and that he would “connect delicately” with his partners’ interests, yet didn’t say that they would be focused for breaking with the partisan division.
Sir Keir said his way to deal with the contention had been driven by a longing to shield Israel’s more right than wrong to safeguard itself against fear based oppressor assaults and the privileges of Palestinians “trapped in the crossfire”.
“While I comprehend requires a truce, at this stage I don’t really accept that that is the right position now.
“Hamas would be encouraged and begin getting ready for future brutality right away.”
He said a compassionate respite was “the main trustworthy methodology that gets any opportunity of accomplishing what we as a whole need to find in Gaza – the dire lightening of Palestinian misery”.
Inquired as to whether he accepted Israel was keeping global regulation, Sir Keir said that would be chosen by legal counselors at the appointed time and it would be “rash” for lawmakers to make untimely declarations.
As the Work chief went out, where he was giving the discourse, his vehicle was mobbed by a gathering of supportive of Palestine demonstrators.
Police made a way for the vehicle as the protestors yelled and drummed on the windows.
Cops eliminate a dissenter attempting to hinder Sir Keir’s vehicle following the discourseBy not support a full truce, the Work chief is lined up with the UK government, as well as the US and EU.
Contrasted with a formal truce, compassionate stops will generally keep going for brief timeframes, now and then only a couple of hours.
They are regularly carried out simply fully intent on offering compassionate help, rather than accomplishing long haul political arrangements, as indicated by the Unified Countries.
As the Work chief was safeguarding his situation, both Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar and London City chairman Sadiq Khan repeated their requires a truce.
Mr Sarwar likewise said past remarks made by Sir Keir had made harmed Muslims and “any harmony cherishing resident”.
Addressing BBC London, Mr Khan didn’t straightforwardly condemned his party’s chief yet said: “I trust in a de-heightening of the viciousness not heightening, that is the reason I’m requiring a truce.”
On Monday Andy McDonald, a previous shadow serve under Jeremy Corbyn, was suspended as a Work MP over remarks he delivered in a discourse at a favorable to Palestinian meeting.
The MP for Middlesbrough told nonconformists on Saturday: “We won’t rest until we have equity. Until all individuals, Israelis and Palestinians, between the stream and the ocean, can live in tranquil freedom.”
He said his words were planned as “a sincere supplication for a finish to the killings” in the district.
In any case, the expression “between the stream and the ocean” – which alludes to the land between the Waterway Jordan and the Mediterranean – is deciphered by some, including Israel and most Jewish gatherings, as certainly requiring the annihilation of Israel.
This understanding is questioned by a few favorable to Palestinian activists who say that the vast majority reciting it are requiring a finish to Israel’s control of the West Bank and barricade of Gaza, not the obliteration of Israel itself.
A Work representative said Mr McDonald’s remarks at the end of the week “were profoundly hostile, especially during a period of rising discrimination against Jews which has left Jewish individuals afraid for their security”.
In any case, the suspension has offended the left, who contend Mr McDonald’s words had been distorted, as well as the Work Muslim Organization.
Yet, the greater risk for Sir Keir is that by multiplying down on dismissing requires a truce, some shadow clergymen past the left gone under strain from individuals and networks and choose to leave, starting a potential chain response.
In the mean time, Moderate MP Paul Bristow has been sacked from his administration job as a pastoral helper, subsequent to requiring a truce in Gaza.

‘Remain hopeful’ about deal to free several Israeli detainees – Former negotiator
A person who helped free an Israeli soldier named Gilad Shalit from being held captive by Hamas in 2011 recently told the BBC that there is still a chance to resolve the hostage crisis as long as the invasion hasn’t started yet.
Gershon Baskin, the Middle East director of an organization that protects human rights, said he is trying to make a truce and free the women, children, elderly, wounded, and sick people as fast as he can.
He told Newsday that keeping people as hostages is not right according to Islam and the Quran. It goes against what Hamas believes in.
Baskin thinks that the Israeli government might agree to stop fighting if they can get back the people they are holding, but only if there are no additional demands.

He says there is still a chance for a solution to the hostage situation before the ground invasion starts.
Israel is taking their time because they want to try everything possible to rescue the civilian hostages in Gaza before they send in a large number of troops, tanks, and artillery. “And that is a good indication. “ -

Israel still cautious to undertake ground offensive despite its strong rhetoric – Analyst
Israeli soldiers went into Gaza again last night.
In the past hour, we have heard loud sounds of war coming from the sea. We are in southern Israel, about 10km away from Gaza.
The loud sounds of big guns and tanks firing, Israeli military planes flying above, and a big cloud of smoke coming from Gaza show that something serious is happening there this morning.
In the past, Israelis have always had a tendency to take immediate action, address problems as they come up, act quickly and be a little reckless.
However, now there is some doubt or uncertainty. This is partly because of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s personality. Although he talks tough, he has never started a war for Israel.
He always is very careful and concerned about consequences, and he is afraid he might be forgotten in politics, especially if military action goes very wrong.
Netanyahu is already facing trial for very serious corruption charges. If found guilty, he might be sent to jail. This makes him worry about protecting himself, which further fuels his instinct to protect himself.
Also, there are 229 hostages which are making things more difficult.
Israeli people have had enough time to consider this matter. There are many people, including families, who strongly believe that sending soldiers into Gaza is dangerous. This belief is certainly one of the reasons the ground attack has been postponed.

Daniel Hagari spoke at a press conference that was shown on TV later on Thursday. The ground attacks are meant to eliminate Hamas fighters, prepare for a full-scale invasion, and disable explosive devices and spying stations, according to him.
The attack happened when there was a big problem in Gaza, with many people needing help. This problem got worse because bombs were being dropped every day and Israel stopped fuel from getting into Gaza, which is very important for saving lives. The lack of electricity has seriously affected healthcare, and many people have had to leave their homes because of the bombings.
Israeli attacks have caused the deaths of over 6,850 individuals in Gaza since October 7. This includes thousands of children. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah obtained this information from sources in the Hamas-controlled enclave.
The international community is feeling more and more pressure to convince Israel to let aid into Gaza. The United Nations and some nearby countries are asking for an immediate stop to the fighting, while others want a temporary break to help with humanitarian relief. But the world has not been able to come together to deal with the crisis, even after almost three weeks since the violence started. The violence began after Hamas carried out terrible terror attacks on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 people in Israel and the kidnapping of over 200 people.
Riyad Mansour, the leader of the Palestinian Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations, asked a direct question to UN diplomats on Thursday when he told them about Palestinians who were killed in Gaza.
Mansour said that most of the people who were killed are regular people, not soldiers or fighters. “Are you defending this war. ”
Countries who are part of the United Nations are getting ready to vote on a suggested plan made by Jordan for the Arab states. This comes after multiple unsuccessful attempts to agree on something by the United Nations Security Council.
The resolution asks for a stop in the fighting, the freeing of hostages, and for the Palestinian people to not be forced to move from their homes. However, the resolutions made by the General Assembly are not legally required to be followed.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, spoke to a group of diplomats and stated that punishing a whole group of people is not a justified response to defend oneself. He received applause when he expressed concern for the well-being of all individuals, regardless of their religion or nationality.
Gilad Erdan, who represents Israel at the UN, strongly criticized the resolution being discussed. He said that requesting a ceasefire is like trying to prevent Israel from protecting its citizens by eliminating a major threat.
The United States has said no to ceasefire proposals and instead wants short breaks to let humanitarian aid enter Gaza. The US has said that it fully supports Israel’s need to protect itself.
On Thursday, the European Union got together in Brussels and said that there should be breaks in fighting in Gaza to provide help to those in need. However, they didn’t ask for a complete stop to the fighting.
Israel has promised to completely destroy Hamas, the militant group that runs Gaza. They have stated multiple times that after the current blockade, they will send in troops for a ground attack. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the War Cabinet of Israel would decide when to take action.
“We are aggressively attacking Hamas,” Netanyahu said on TV, while stating that Israel has already killed thousands of terrorists and there is more to come.
The prime minister admitted that he will be held responsible for the mistakes in intelligence that led to the biggest terrorist attack in Israeli history. He said that this will be thoroughly investigated after the war.
Israel’s internal security agency, the Shin Bet, said it has likely killed many of the top leaders in Hamas’ military division since they started attacking Gaza over two weeks ago. CNN cannot confirm Israel’s assessment and Hamas is not providing any comments on the number of fighters killed in Israeli attacks.
Israeli forces announced that they have killed a top Hamas official named Shadi Barud, who was involved in planning the October 7 attacks. This information was shared in a joint statement by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet). The Israeli military recently claimed that their intelligence reports indicate that air strikes have killed a leader of Hamas rocket units named Hassan Al-Abdullah. According to the military, he was in charge of these units in the Khan Younis area of Gaza.
The Israeli military and intelligence agency released a video that they say shows the attacks that caused the death of Barud. The video shows at least two buildings in Gaza that were damaged and seemed to collapse. Hamas hasn’t said anything about the statement.
Israel attacked Hamas targets in Gaza, causing significant damage to the densely populated area, which was already described as a prison by human rights organizations before the current conflict started.New pictures from a satellite company called Maxar have been released. These pictures were taken on October 21. They show that there has been a lot of damage to places in northern Gaza. The houses in some neighborhoods in eastern Beit Hanoun have been completely destroyed. There has also been a lot of damage near the Al Shati Refugee Camp, Atatra, and Izbat Beit Hanoun.
The IDF advised people living in the busy northern area of the Palestinian enclave to leave because there has been intense bombing there. But it is also still attacking areas in the south, and a producer from CNN in Gaza said that there is nowhere safe.
During a press conference on Thursday, Ashraf Al-Qidra, a spokesperson for the health ministry in Gaza, mentioned that 12 hospitals have stopped functioning ever since Israel’s air campaign started. Additionally, 101 medical staff members have unfortunately lost their lives.
He said that Israeli forces purposely made the healthcare system in Gaza fail by stopping fuel and important medical supplies from coming in. Israel is not letting fuel go into Gaza because they believe that Hamas uses it for military reasons instead of for the people.
On Wednesday, Al Jazeera reported that their leader in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh, tragically lost his wife, son, daughter, and grandson in an attack by Israel’s airstrikes. According to Al Jazeera, there was an explosion that happened in a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. The family who lived in the house had been forced to leave their previous home and were staying there for safety. A statement from the family said that a total of 12 Al-Dahdouh family members died in the explosion. This includes nine kids.
The IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) confirmed to CNN that they did launch an airstrike in the place where Al-Dahdouh’s family members were killed. They stated that their objective was to destroy Hamas’ terrorist facilities in that area.
The text means that when attacking military targets, it is important to follow the rules of international law. This includes taking steps to prevent innocent civilians from getting hurt.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), since the conflict started, 24 journalists have lost their lives as of Wednesday. According to CPJ, 20 Palestinians, 3 Israelis, and 1 Lebanese journalist were killed.
Busy hospitals about to fail say they have too many injured people coming in every day and doctors have told CNN many times that they don’t have the things they need to take care of them properly, like supplies and electricity. This affects not only those patients, but also others who need oxygen to stay alive.
Videos filmed by CNN journalists showed dead bodies wrapped in bags after bombings and lots of injured people, including kids, in hospitals that were very full.
About 14 million out of the 2 million people in Gaza have had to leave their homes since October 7. Currently, around 629,000 of them are staying in UN shelters, as reported by OCHA. Half of the people in Gaza are kids.
The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza said on Wednesday that it will have to stop providing aid within a day if it doesn’t receive fuel. This means that the essential help it offers to the local people will stop.
Tom White, the person in charge of helping people in Gaza, said that the workers who give aid will have to choose what kinds of help they can give to people and what they can’t.
“He asked if we supply fuel for desalination plants that create drinking water. He asked if we can provide fuel to hospitals. He asked if we can provide the fuel needed to make bread for the people in Gaza. ”
According to the UN humanitarian office, at least 38 United Nations workers have been killed.
At the same time in Moscow, people from Hamas had a meeting with an important person from the Russian foreign ministry on Thursday, as stated by Russian state media TASS and a statement from Hamas. According to TASS, the talks were about freeing the people who were being held by Hamas and getting Russians out of Gaza.
The Hamas group said they are very happy with what Russian President Vladimir Putin is doing and they think that the Russian diplomats are doing a great job. Mousa Abu Marzouk and Basem Naim, two important leaders of Hamas from Gaza, met with Mikhail Bogdanov, a Russian government official who focuses on the Middle East and Africa.Israel became very angry when they heard about the meeting. Israel is unhappy about the invitation of important Hamas members to Moscow. They believe that this is supporting terrorism and making it seem like the terrible things that Hamas does are okay. Israel wants Russia to kick out the Hamas group right away.
Qatar is trying to help negotiate between Egypt, the US, Israel, and Hamas. The prime minister and foreign minister of Qatar said on Wednesday that they are hopeful for a positive outcome in talks to free the hostages being held by the militant group.
The hostage situation involves people from different countries.
Israel’s government press office stated that out of the total number of hostages being held by Hamas, which is more than half, 135 of them have foreign passports from 25 different countries.
There are 54 people from Thailand, 15 from Argentina, and 12 from Germany and the US included in the group.
Four people who were being held against their will – two from the United States and two from Israel – have been released up until now. Hamas is holding more people captive in Gaza, but negotiations to release them are still happening, according to Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the foreign minister of Qatar.
US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that he advised Netanyahu to try and free hostages in Gaza before launching a ground invasion if it’s possible.
But Biden clearly said “no” when asked if he had asked his Israeli counterpart to wait before invading the ground while the hostages are held. -

EU declines advocating for ceasefire in Gaza prior to UN vote as situation there deteriorates
The leaders of the European Union have not asked for a complete stop to the fighting in Gaza. Instead, they are requesting short breaks to send aid to the people there. The United Nations said their work in Gaza is not able to continue because of Israel’s constant bombing of the area.
The statement was released after meetings in Brussels on Thursday. The United Nations Security Council has tried multiple times to pass a resolution on the war between Israel and Hamas, but has been unsuccessful. Member states are now preparing to vote on a new resolution proposed by Jordan on behalf of Arab states on Friday.
The Foreign Minister of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, said to diplomats at the United Nations Assembly Hall that punishing everyone for one person’s actions is not a way to protect oneself. The resolution asks for the fighting to stop, for hostages to be released, and for no one to be forced to leave their homes.
Over 2 million people in Gaza are going through a worsening crisis because of daily bombings and a blockage of fuel that is needed to save lives. Israel claims that Hamas is gathering and storing fuel for its own purposes, and has requested that Hamas, the powerful Palestinian group in control of Gaza, distribute it to others as well. The lack of electricity has greatly affected healthcare, and many people have had to leave their homes because of the bombings.
Since October 7, Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of over 7,028 individuals in Gaza. Among the victims are numerous children. This information was reported on Thursday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas.
People all over the world are urging Israel to let aid into Gaza, which really needs it. The United Nations and some countries nearby are asking for a quick stop to the fighting, while others think there should be a temporary break so people can get the help they need.
However, the world has not been able to come together and agree on what to do about the crisis. It has been almost three weeks since the violence started, which was caused by Hamas’ violent attacks and kidnappings on October 7. These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 people in Israel and over 200 people being taken hostage in Gaza.
The Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, said on Thursday that requests for a ceasefire were not about trying to achieve peace. Instead, they were about restricting Israel’s ability to protect its citizens and deal with a significant threat.
Israel is not fighting against people, they are fighting against very bad creatures. They want to completely destroy Hamas and will do whatever it takes to achieve this.
He said this while the Defense Minister said that Israel’s troops are getting ready for the next part of their fight against Hamas. People think this will be through a ground attack.
The movement will start when the circumstances are suitable. These conditions are complicated because the campaign is also complicated. “The soldiers are prepared,” Gallant said during a meeting in Tel Aviv.
Israel’s military carried out a planned operation in northern Gaza last night. They have promised to continue carrying out similar operations on the ground in the next few days.
The goal of the incursions is to target and eliminate Hamas fighters, prepare for a full-scale invasion, and disable bombs and surveillance posts. This information comes from a spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Daniel Hagari spoke on Thursday.
There were six people hurt when a rocket hit Taba, a city by the Red Sea in Egypt.
The rocket hit a building where ambulances are kept and also hit a residential area of the hospital’s office building in a city that is next to Israel. We don’t know yet who shot the rocket or from where, but the IDF said they know about the security issue. The health ministry in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, released a long report with many names of people who died since October 7. They say that these deaths were caused by the Israeli military’s attacks.
The ministry said that many more people have likely died than what has been reported. The report does not include people who have not been identified, those who were buried without being officially registered at the hospital, or those who are still missing. There are about 1,600 people who are still missing.
The list doesn’t separate people involved in combat and those not involved, but it does include information about age, gender, and the ID card number of the victims. This list was released after US President Joe Biden expressed doubt about the number of civilian casualties reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
Israel and the US have said they are not sure if the numbers of people who died in Gaza are accurate, but they have not shown any proof that the numbers are too high.
White House spokesperson John Kirby said that the ministry in Gaza is secretly affiliated with Hamas. However, he did not deny that many Palestinians, including innocent civilians, have been killed.
The leader of the US-supported Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, Mohammad Shtayyeh, stated that the PA’s own health authority believes the numbers are accurate.
“These numbers belong to us,” Shtayyeh said in an interview on Thursday with Al Jazeera. “Every day, the hospitals in Gaza send us these numbers. Our Ministry of Health receives them. ”
The Palestinian Authority in Ramallah is led by a different group than Hamas, and it oversees the Ministry of Health, which has a connection with the Gaza ministry. Every day, the number of people who have died in Gaza is reported in both Gaza and Ramallah.Israel has said that Hamas is in charge of important fuel supplies in Gaza. This is a big problem because hospitals, bakeries, and UN humanitarian efforts might have to stop working because they don’t have enough fuel.
Juliette Touma, who is in charge of communication for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), has said that if the agency does not receive sufficient fuel, it will have to completely stop its operations. The fuel is necessary to generate electricity for hospitals and to desalinate water.
Touma said that UNRWA is still having a hard time because they have very little fuel, and the amount they have is getting even less. There is still limited supply of deliveries to places like hospitals and bakeries. UNRWA is having trouble because they are not getting enough fuel to the Gaza Strip.
The IDF explained that the issue in Gaza is not a shortage of fuel. Instead, it is caused by Hamas, the group in control of the situation.
Colonel Avichay Adraee stated that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) successfully targeted and destroyed a Hamas military compound in the Gaza Strip. The operation was carried out in retaliation for the ongoing rocket attacks fired by Hamas towards Israeli territories. ColonelAccording to Israeli military intelligence, Hamas has control of a large amount of fuel, which ranges from 800,000 to potentially over one million liters, stored in Gaza. Jonathan Conricus shared this information with CNN on Thursday.
“He said that some of it was collected and stored earlier, some were taken without permission from the UN, and some were taken by Hamas from private sellers. ”
Israel is stopping the delivery of fuel to Gaza completely because they think Hamas would use it for military purposes instead.
In simpler words, Tamara Alrifai, who works for UNRWA, said that it doesn’t matter if there are other sources of fuel in Gaza. UNRWA is a humanitarian organization and they shouldn’t have to beg for fuel to keep doing their work.
With very little fuel left, UNWRA is having to choose whether to provide electricity to bakeries or hospitals. More than 600,000 people have been forced to leave their homes and now only get one piece of bread a day.
On Thursday, twelve trucks with aid went into Gaza from Egypt. They brought water, food, medicine, and medical supplies, but no fuel. The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported this.
According to PRCS, 74 trucks have entered the area since humanitarian aid transfers started again a few days ago.
Usually, there would be about 455 daily, the United Nations said. This means that essential supplies are coming into the area much slower than necessary.
The hospitals are very full and close to breaking down because there are too many injured people. Doctors have told CNN many times that they don’t have enough supplies or electricity to properly take care of them. -

EU leaders will talk on humanitarian breaks in Gaza
European Union leaders are gathering in Brussels for a meeting, but the main issues are the conflict between Hamas and Israel and the EU’s inability to show a united front.
For a long time, the European Union has been unsure about what its position should be on the war. There have been confusing statements, embarrassing mistakes, and different opinions from different countries about the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
But after a few days of not being able to agree, leaders of the European Union want to find a position that everyone can agree on.
The question is whether to support a stop to the fighting or breaks in fighting to provide help to people.
Charles Michel, the head of the European Council, is very worried about the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. He and other leaders want to make it easier for people in Gaza to get things like food, water, medical care, fuel, and shelter.
They want to improve the conditions so that more than 200 hostages taken by Hamas gunmen during their attack on 7 October can be released safely. Some of the people being kept as prisoners are citizens of two European countries, like Germany, France, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
EU countries have very different opinions, which makes things very confusing.
When he got to the meeting, Spain’s temporary prime minister Pedro Sánchez said he wants a pause in the fighting between Israel and Palestine. He said if a pause is not possible, he wants a break in the fighting to help bring urgent aid to the Palestinian people.
Some people are unsure about asking for a break in the fighting and say that it might be seen as stopping Israel from protecting itself.
Germany and other countries are against the idea of having only one humanitarian break because it is too similar to a ceasefire, and Israel has the right to protect itself from attacks.
One diplomat told the BBC that what they needed was shorter breaks in the fighting instead. A pause is when actors stop completely, but pauses are only temporary. “They said that they only need help for a few hours at a time. ”
Germany, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic strongly support Israel. Spain and Ireland have a stronger connection or alignment with the Palestinian cause.
Some leaders from Europe have been visiting the Middle East for diplomatic reasons. Italy’s leader Giorgia Meloni, Germany’s leader Olaf Scholz, and France’s leader Emmanuel Macron have all spoken with Egypt’s leader Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
On Wednesday, the leader of Austria, Karl Nehammer, and the leader of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, went to visit Israel.People have different opinions about the EU’s leadership as well.
The EU gives the most money to the Palestinians. When Oliver Varhelyi, who is in charge of EU policy towards neighboring countries, said that all payments to the Palestinians were being stopped and new budget plans were being delayed after the Hamas attack, aid agencies became very concerned and worried.
The European Commission quickly released a statement saying that they will not stop €691m (£600m) of aid, but they will review it. They also mentioned that they will triple the amount of aid they provide to Palestinians.
When Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, traveled to Israel with the President of the European Parliament, she received criticism for supporting Israel’s right to protect itself without mentioning the importance of following international humanitarian law. There didn’t seem to be any attempt to communicate with the Palestinian Authority.
However, a European Union diplomat told reporters that not everything Ms. von der Leyen said in Israel was shared on social media. The diplomat said that if you want to be effective, you shouldn’t use aggressive or forceful tactics when communicating. “The Israeli government pays attention to us when we discuss things privately. ”
In a very surprising action, more than 800 EU staff and diplomats wrote a public letter expressing their disapproval of her “uncontrolled” support for Israel. They were unhappy with the Commission’s different treatment of situations. They explained that when Russia blocked Ukraine, it was seen as a terrifying action, but when Israel blocked Gaza, it was completely overlooked.
James Moran from the Centre for European Policy Studies said to the BBC that the EU’s response has been both unfortunate and confusing.
In the past, the EU has usually been fair when dealing with conflicts in the Middle East. For instance, in 2014 people quickly asked for fighting to stop.
The EU doesn’t have its own soldiers, ships, or planes, but it has been very helpful in the Middle East by using its diplomacy skills.
In 1980, when it had only nine members, the group created the important Venice Declaration which acknowledged that the Palestinian people have the right to choose their own future.
In 2023, according to an EU diplomat speaking to the BBC, there are 27 countries in the EU with very different opinions about the Middle East.
This was made clear during a meeting of EU foreign ministers this week. It is said that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock disagreed with having a humanitarian ceasefire because Hamas was still shooting rockets at Israel.
The EU has not been able to agree on the type of break they should have. -

UN scales back humanitarian efforts in Gaza as fuel runs out
The UN aid agencies are cutting back their work in the Gaza Strip because they have almost run out of fuel.
A little bit of fuel is being taken from existing fuel supplies to keep the water supply working in the south. Many people are staying there to stay safe from the strikes by Israel.
But, they will finish on Thursday.
The organizations claim that they have decreased their help for busy hospitals and bakeries providing food for people who have been forced to leave their homes.
Juliette Touma from the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, told the BBC that the situation in the Gaza Strip is unlike anything we have ever seen before.
Two million people are being choked or suffocated. Very little help is being given to Gaza from outsiders and it is causing a lot of suffering.
Israel started a bombing mission in Gaza, stopped the supply of electricity and most water, and blocked the delivery of food, fuel, and other items. They did this in response to an attack by Hamas on October 7th, where at least 1,400 people died and 224 were taken as hostages.
Gaza’s health ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, says that more than 7,000 people have died in Gaza since then. The health system is in a very bad state, with about one third of hospitals not working properly and the rest only able to help with emergency situations.
Since Saturday, at least 74 trucks carrying food, water, and medical supplies have entered Egypt through the Rafah border crossing. However,Touma believes that this is a small amount compared to the huge demand for these essentials. Before the war, around 500 trucks were permitted to enter Gaza each day.
MsTouma said that Unrwa urgently needs fuel to keep helping the 629,000 displaced people living in its facilities. Many people in the northern part of Gaza had to leave their homes because the Israeli military said it was safer for them to do so.
We are the biggest group that helps people in need, and we are about to stop doing our work. We are not allowed to do what the UN General Assembly told us to do. All we want is to be able to do our work, she said.
Israel is not letting fuel deliveries enter because they think it might be used by Hamas for their military activities. Israel sees Hamas as a terrorist group, and so do the UK, US, and some other powerful countries. The Israeli military spokesperson, Lt Col Jonathan Conricus, said in a video on a social media website named X that they don’t want the hospitals or all of Gaza to run out of fuel.
But he suggested that Unrwa should ask Hamas to give them some of the large amount of fuel that the military says is being kept in tanks near the border with Egypt.
“He said there is plenty for hospitals and water pumps to operate for several days. ” The main things that are important are not the same. Hamas wants to keep all the fuel for their ability to fight in wars, which means normal people won’t have any fuel for themselves.
When asked about the claim, the UN’s regional humanitarian chief, Lynn Hastings, said to the BBC that they do not have any information about Hamas having access to any other fuel.
I understand that Israelis are worried about this, and it’s justified. We are trying to talk to the Israelis about getting enough fuel for the humanitarian work.
Ms Hastings said that if Gaza’s hospitals don’t have fuel for their back-up generators, they won’t be able to take care of around 1,000 patients who need kidney dialysis treatment, 130 premature babies who are in incubators, and patients in intensive care who need ventilators.
Gaza’s water desalination and pumping stations would stop working too.
Right now, there is not much clean water for drinking. So, people have to drink dirty or salty water, or sometimes both.
This means that when there is no electricity, the sanitation system gets clogged because it can’t pump sewage into the sea. We expect sewage to flow onto the streets very soon.
Ms Hastings also said in another statement that the Israeli military was still telling people in Gaza City to leave even though they had nowhere to go or couldn’t move.
She cautioned that when the roads for leaving are attacked, when people in both the north and south are involved in fighting, when there is not enough of what is necessary to stay alive, and when there is no guarantee of being able to come back, people are left with very difficult decisions.
On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces said that Hamas is using civilians to protect themselves and preventing them from leaving south.
The statement said that in the past, they have used different ways to accomplish their goals, such as setting up roadblocks. -

‘There are killings day and night’ – Resident of Gaza
Israel has said that they carried out air strikes on 250 Hamas targets in Gaza over the last 24 hours. Earlier this month, the Israeli army told people in the northern part of the Gaza Strip to go towards the southern area.
But a man from Khan Younis says to Reuters: “The area in the south, below the valley, is not secure. ”
There are a lot of killings happening day and night, lots of killings. Children, young people, and babies are being killed.
Buildings and trees are destroyed. Gaza Strip is not a safe place anywhere. The southern part of the area has been completely destroyed. All of the killings and people being forced to leave their homes are happening there.
“We come from God and we will go back to him. “ -

What’s happening in Western Bank?
Our attention have been on Gaza, but nearby there is also a lot of tension in the occupied West Bank.
The United Nations says that 95 people have been killed and almost 1,900 have been hurt in the area since October 7th. This area is not controlled by Hamas. The number of people who died is slightly higher according to local officials.
There have been more and more reports of Israeli settlers attacking Palestinians since Hamas first started attacking. Yesterday, Joe Biden, the President of the United States, said that those attacks were making a bad situation even worse.
Fighting has happened between Palestinian militants and Israeli security forces, and it has been very dangerous.
Many soldiers have surrounded Palestinian villages and put roadblocks to defend Jewish settlements. These settlements are considered illegal by international law, but Israel disagrees with this.
Israel has said that it captured almost 1,000 people wanted in the West Bank. Out of those, more than 600 are believed to be members of Hamas. -

West Bank Palestinians concerned about family members stranded in Gaza
The first relief is the sound of the phone ringing. Then comes the most enjoyable noise in the entire world.
Sanaa Al-Araj and her 18-year-old daughter, Karmel, who live in Ramallah in the West Bank, always keep track of the war news happening 83 kilometers away in Gaza.
They always try to call their cousin Hadeel Abu Hassanen, who lives in Gaza with other family members, at least once a day.
Hadeel tells them that last night was very difficult. “There was a bombing that happened very near to us. ”
Sanaa is very concerned about her cousin Mohammed. He can’t move because an Israeli airstrike hurt him badly. His wife is going to have a baby soon but she can’t get medical help.
Sanaa says we can’t sleep easily. Every day, we hear about family members and friends who have been killed.
She is worried about her 93-year-old mother, Sabha, who has depression and has to deal with constant bombardment. -

UN claims that fuel shortages will cause relief operations in Gaza to stop in day
The main United Nations agency in Gaza says it will stop helping people within a day if they don’t receive fuel. This would be very bad for civilians who depend on this help.
Though some help has gotten to Gaza from Egypt, it only consisted of food, water, and medicine, not fuel. Israel has said no to letting fuel go into Gaza because they believe that the Hamas attack on October 7th was very violent. They think that the fuel would only be used by the group to help them fight against Israel.
If the UNRWA runs out of fuel, it might only be able to go on for one day. We have already said that if we run out of fuel tonight or tomorrow, we, as the biggest UN group in Gaza, will not be able to continue working. The organization originally mentioned that it would have to stop operations on Wednesday evening.
The UN officials said that the current supplies are not enough for the 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza. They also said that the supplies won’t be of much help if there is no fuel to collect and distribute the aid.
The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, said that if there is no fuel, it will be impossible to bring aid, hospitals won’t be able to operate, and water won’t be clean or available.
Doctors in very busy hospitals that are close to closing down have been saying over and over again that if we don’t bring fuel, people injured in bombings and babies needing oxygen will die.
The UN officials are concerned about the recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza that killed over 700 people in just one day. This is the highest number of deaths in a single day since Israel started targeting Hamas in Gaza two and a half weeks ago. This information was reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah.
According to Juliette Touma, the UNRWA is providing shelter for around 600,000 individuals in Gaza. “Touma said, UNRWA is their only source of support and help. ”
The director of UNRWA in Gaza, Tom White, said to CNN that aid workers would have to choose which parts of vital aid they can and cannot give to people.
“Do we give fuel to desalination plants to make drinking water. Can we give fuel to hospitals. Can we give the necessary fuel for making bread that is feeding people in Gaza. ” he asked
UNRWA was created after the 1948 Arab-Israeli War to help Palestinians who were forced to leave their homes and become refugees. They provide important help and support to these people. It started in 1950 and has been renewed many times.
In addition to helping people in need, UNRWA also offers education to around 300,000 students in Gaza. These numbers are from the 2021/22 school year. Many people in Gaza have had to leave their homes because of fighting. They are now finding shelter in schools.
However, White expressed concern that if there is not enough fuel, the agency might have to reduce or stop its activities. This is happening even though some aid is starting to come in through the Rafah crossing. White did not say when the process would start, but emphasized that the agency needs fuel to work. “He said that even if there are convoys in Gaza, we won’t have the fuel in our trucks to gather or deliver that help. ”“We have to find a way to solve the fuel problem, or else our effort to provide aid will be forced to stop,” White informed CNN.
The worsening health situation in Gaza, with dirty water and poor sanitation, is causing concern that a health crisis may happen. This crisis could lead to people dying from dehydration because the water system is failing and there are ongoing bombings.
Only 8 out of the planned 20 aid trucks were able to go to Gaza as scheduled on Tuesday, according to UNRWA. There is no clear explanation as to why the other 12 trucks couldn’t go through the Rafah crossing.
The World Health Organization said on Tuesday that six hospitals in Gaza had to shut down because they didn’t have enough fuel. This happened because of the Israeli siege that started two weeks ago.
The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that there are 1,000 patients who rely on dialysis and 130 premature babies, along with other vulnerable patients, who need a constant supply of electricity to stay alive. These people are at risk of death or health issues if the electricity supply is not stable.
The Israeli army, known as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), has decided that they will not allow any fuel to enter Gaza. They believe that Hamas, a group in control of Gaza, would use the fuel for their own needs, like running their operations and launching rockets.
Israel has argued that there are no problems with lack of fuel in Gaza. In response to UNRWA’s message on X about limited supplies, the IDF shared a picture taken from above showing fuel tanks in Gaza. They said that these tanks contained over 500,000 liters of fuel. CNN cannot confirm the statement made by the IDF.
Israel’s leaders have promised to completely eliminate Hamas as a response to the deadly attacks and kidnappings they carried out on October 7. During these events, approximately 1,400 people, mostly innocent civilians, lost their lives and over 200 individuals were taken as hostages.
After the attack, Israel started continuously bombing Gaza from the air. According to Hamas-controlled health authorities in Gaza and the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah, this has led to the death of over 6,400 individuals and has injured an additional 17,000.
Palestinian officials said that more than 700 people were killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours. The ministry said that there were 305 children, 173 women, and 78 old people who died.
Around two million individuals, including many children, live in the small coastal area of Gaza, which spans 140 square miles.
Al Jazeera reported that the leader of their team in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh, tragically lost his wife, son, and daughter in an attack by Israeli airstrikes. The explosion happened at a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the middle of Gaza Strip where a family was staying because they had to leave their own home.CNN cannot say for sure where the explosion at the house came from, and Al Jazeera did not provide proof that it was caused by an Israeli attack. CNN has asked the IDF for a response, but they haven’t given an answer yet.
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden said that killing innocent people is a consequence of fighting wars and asked Israel to try their best to prevent civilian deaths.
“I believe that innocent people have died, and it is something that happens when you are fighting a war,” Biden stated in a press conference held in the Rose Garden on Wednesday.
Israel needs to be very cautious and make sure that they are targeting the people who are causing conflict with them, instead of innocent civilians. “They don’t want that to happen because it goes against what they want. ”
Biden also mentioned that he did not trust the numbers of civilians who died that were given by the health ministry in Gaza controlled by Hamas. “I don’t believe that the Palestinians are being honest about the number of people who are killed,” he said.
Right now, there is an argument happening between Israel and the UN. The Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, asked for a temporary stop to the fighting and expressed worry about the clear breaking of the rules meant to protect people in Gaza.
Guterres criticized Hamas’ terrifying and unprecedented terrorist attack on October 7th. However, he believes that this attack should not lead to punishing all Palestinians together.
“It is crucial to understand that the attacks by Hamas did not happen without any context,” Guterres mentioned during his speech to the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
Israeli officials were very angry and upset by what he said. The ambassador of Israel to the United Nations, GIlad Erdan, said that Guterres is not suitable to be the leader of the UN and asked him to resign right away.
Almost three weeks have passed since the fighting started, but the Security Council of the United Nations cannot agree on what to do about the crisis. On Wednesday, two different proposals about the issue were introduced by the US and Russia. However, none of them were approved.
The resolution from the US suggested having breaks to help people in Gaza, instead of completely stopping the fighting, so that essential assistance can be provided to the civilians. The United States stopped a proposal from Brazil to take a break for humanitarian reasons.
The US disagreed with demands for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. A spokesperson from the National Security Council named John Kirby told CNN that Hamas must let go of the hostages they have in Gaza before a ceasefire can happen.
According to CNN, negotiations are happening to free a lot of people who are being held by Hamas in Gaza. However, the talks are difficult because of various reasons.
The United States, Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Hamas are currently discussing things together. Four people who were being held against their will – two from America and two from Israel – have been released up to this point. But the current goal is to make an agreement for a larger number of hostages to be set free all at the same time.
Israel has not yet entered Gaza by land, and the US has asked Israel to wait longer in order to free more people held captive by Hamas.
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen stated that Israel’s goal is to bring the hostages back to their homeland, while speaking outside the UN on Tuesday.
Cohen said that there are babies, twins, and holocaust survivors who are being kept captive. Our mission is to rescue and bring them back home.
American military advisers have told Israelis to not launch a full-scale attack on Gaza and to stay away from the kind of brutal city fighting that the US experienced in Iraq. The goal is to prevent the Israelis from getting stuck in bloody, building-to-building combat.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seemed to be telling soldiers on Tuesday that a ground attack was still planned, saying, “we are about to enter the next phase, it is about to happen. ”
In a TV speech on Wednesday, Netanyahu talked for the first time since the October 7 attack about his own involvement in the security failure.
“He said that this will occur after the war. ” “As the leader of the country, it is my duty to protect the future of our nation. Right now, I need to guide our country and its people to achieve a decisive victory over our enemies. ” -

We attacked Hamas because they erected roadblocks to prevent Gazans from fleeing – IDF
We just received news from Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari. He claims that Hamas has created barriers on the roads to prevent people from leaving the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
Hagari says Israel removed the roadblocks at night “so that people can leave the area”.
During a daily meeting with reporters, Hagari spoke directly to people in northern Gaza. He wanted to tell them that Hamas and its leaders are taking advantage of them. They are using their houses, schools, and hospitals, as well as hiding in underground places, near schools and hospitals.
Earlier this month, Israel told people in northern Gaza to go to the south. However, attacks on southern regions, like the city of Khan Younis, have not stopped.
Hagari was also asked if the IDF was getting ready to possibly attack Iran by air.
He said that Iran is causing problems in the Middle East and that we need to always stay alert. However, he mentioned that they are currently focused on the fighting in Gaza. -

Hospitals in Gaza on the verge of stopping life-saving care
Nasser hospital in Khan Younis is the main place where people in the southern part of Gaza go to get medical help.
The hospital is going to stop doing surgeries that save lives because they cannot find fuel to keep the hospital running. There is a shortage of blood and life-saving equipment.
We are very close to a really bad situation.
People are going through more than just death and airstrikes. The UN says that around half of the population, which is about one million people, have been forced to leave their homes.
People are sleeping outside the hospital and on the street.
I went to a school run by the UN where people from the northern part of Gaza are staying for protection. They only get one liter of clean water per day and very little food. Also, they can hardly find a bathroom to use.
In the past, the school had 500 students, but now it has grown and can accommodate 5,000 individuals. There is not enough space and resources to fit all these people.
Yesterday, I saw a house with two bedrooms. Inside, there were 120 people staying. A person living there said there is no air to breathe. -

Is Israel delaying its invasion of Gaza?
It is obvious that people are hesitant because the US has warned about how hard it will be to enter Gaza.
Here is a simplified version of the text: One example of a challenging fight in a city is the effort to remove IS from Mosul, Iraq in 2017.
I was present and I witnessed a big group of skilled Iraqi soldiers, who had received extensive training from the Americans. They were supported by the US air force, the RAF, and other western special forces. Their operation had to go from one house to another, one after another.
It took many months – and lots of regular people were killed during that time.
Israel is worried because there are hostages in Gaza right now, and that’s another reason why they are hesitant. Hamas is trying to be clever by releasing some hostages and making it seem like there is a way to get them out safely.
If Israel had acted fast, the strong force behind it might not have grown as much as it has now.
For instance, one of the top newspapers in Israel, called Haaretz, which usually criticizes the Israeli government, stated in its main article yesterday that there should be no use of military force when there are people being held captive in Gaza.
But I talked to Ehud Barak, who used to be the prime minister and leader of the Israeli army. He said that we may have to make tough decisions because we cannot allow Hamas to escape the consequences for their actions. He was basically saying that the Israelis might have to proceed.
The current Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is known for being indecisive when it comes to tough decisions, despite his strong words. -

Aid worker reports ‘actual starvation’ in Gaza refugee camp
Jabalia is the biggest of the eight refugee camps in Gaza. Around 116,000 individuals reside in an area of 1. 4 square kilometers (about 0. 5 square miles), as reported by the UN.
Khalid helps people in Jabalia. He says to the BBC’s World Service radio that almost everything has been used up and all basic needs are almost fulfilled.
“There is indeed serious hunger,” he explains, as bakery shops are now running out of flour.
Lately, a few vehicles with aid were permitted to enter Gaza to bring necessary supplies, but aid agencies believe it is not nearly sufficient.
Khalid says the amount of stock sent to Jabalia is only enough for one shelter.More update on this story soon…

700 Gazans killed in single day – Palestinian officials
The main United Nations group working in Gaza will have to stop its work soon because it doesn’t have enough fuel. This will make the humanitarian crisis worse. According to Palestinian officials, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have already killed over 700 people in just 24 hours.
Fuel supplies that are necessary to keep hospitals, pumps, and desalination systems running, as well as to power bakeries, are almost finished. In response, the UN Secretary General has asked for a ceasefire to happen right away on Tuesday. This has caused a strong disagreement among members of the United Nations, and Israel is calling for the UN Secretary General to step down.
Doctors in hospitals that are extremely busy and about to close have continuously warned that if they don’t receive fuel, many new patients injured by the bombs and babies relying on oxygen will die.
The worsening health situation, lack of cleanliness, and drinking of unclean, salty water are causing concerns of a health emergency where people could die from lack of fluids as the water system breaks down while bombs continue to fall.
UNRWA said on social media that if we don’t get fuel soon, we will have to stop our operations in #GazaStrip starting tomorrow night. According to Juliette Touma, a spokesperson for UNRWA, Gaza requires a minimum of 160,000 liters (42,267 gallons) of fuel each day for basic needs.
Only 8 out of the 20 aid trucks that were supposed to go to Gaza on Tuesday actually went there, according to UNRWA. There is no clear explanation for why the other 12 trucks couldn’t pass through the Rafah crossing.
According to the World Health Organization, six hospitals in Gaza have had to shut down because they ran out of fuel. This happened because of the Israeli siege that began two weeks ago.
The World Health Organization said that there are 1,000 patients who rely on dialysis, 130 premature babies, and other patients who need electricity to survive. These people are at risk of dying or having medical problems if there is no stable and continuous supply of electricity.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that they will not allow any fuel to enter Gaza. They believe that Hamas will use the fuel for their own needs, like running their systems and carrying out rocket attacks.
The comments contradicted what the IDF Chief of Staff Lt. General Herzi Halevi said that they will ensure that there is enough fuel in the places where it is needed to help treat civilians. We won’t give Hamas any fuel to keep fighting against the people of Israel.
Israel’s leaders have promised to destroy Hamas after their deadly attacks on October 7. During these attacks, 1,400 people, mostly innocent civilians, were killed, and over 200 were kidnapped.
Over 700 people were killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours, which is the highest number in a single day since Israeli attacks on what they called Hamas targets started two and a half weeks ago. This information was shared by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the people who died were 305 children, 173 women, and 78 elderly individuals.
Around 2 million people, including many children, live in the small coastal strip of Gaza which is only 140 square miles.
Strong feelings were experienced at the UN Security Council on Tuesday when Secretary General António Guterres asked for an immediate stop to fighting in order to protect the wellbeing of people in Gaza. He pointed out that there have been clear disobediences to the rules of humanitarian law.
“According to Guterres, protecting civilians should not involve forcing more than one million people to leave their homes and go to the southern region where there is no place to stay, no food, no water, no medicine, and no fuel. The bombing of the same southern region should also not continue. ”
“It is important to understand that the attacks by Hamas were not isolated incidents,” said Guterres. They have watched their land being taken, their economy being hindered, their people being forced to move, and their homes being destroyed.
He said that the killing and kidnapping done by Hamas on October 7 was very bad, but it doesn’t make it right to punish all the Palestinian people for it. Even in war, there are rules to follow.
The Israeli diplomats quickly reacted in a negative way.
The Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, asked Guterres to step down right away because of his comments. Erdan also said that Guterres is not suitable to lead the United Nations. He shared this message on social media. Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, who was at the United Nations on Tuesday, said he would not have a meeting with Guterres and that he does not agree with a fair and unbiased approach.
“Cohen wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Hamas should be completely eliminated from the world. ”The situation in Gaza is getting worse and it’s difficult for countries around the world to agree on what to do.
The US has rejected requests for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The National Security Council spokesperson, John Kirby, told CNN that before a ceasefire can be considered, Hamas needs to release the hostages they are holding in Gaza.
Ongoing discussions are happening to try and free many people who are being kept captive by Hamas in Gaza. CNN reported on Tuesday that the discussions are being made difficult because of various reasons.
The United States, Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Hamas are having ongoing discussions. Four people who were being held captive have been released. Two of them are from the United States and the other two are from Israel. But now, the goal is to agree on a plan to free a larger number of hostages all at the same time.
Israel has decided not to go into Gaza on foot yet, and the US has asked Israel to wait longer before taking action, so that more people held captive by Hamas can be set free.
Foreign Minister Cohen said outside the United Nations on Tuesday that Israel is determined to bring the hostages back home.
Cohen said that there are babies, twins, and holocaust survivors who are trapped, and our main goal is to bring them back home.
The US military advisers have told Israelis to not have a big ground attack in Gaza. They are also telling Israel to not fight in the cities like they did in Iraq. They want to prevent Israel from being stuck in bloody fighting in each house.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to soldiers on Tuesday and indicated that a ground operation was still planned. He stated that they are entering the next stage, which is imminent. -

2,000 children killed in Gaza – Humanitarian organisation claims
Tempers rose at the United Nations on Tuesday because of calls for a ceasefire. Aid groups and doctors in Gaza are concerned that power shortages could endanger the lives of vulnerable babies and patients.
Organizations that help people are asking for a stop to the fighting in Gaza. They say that in the last few weeks, Israel has been bombing Gaza more and that around 2,000 children have been killed there.
Yoav Gallant, Israel’s defense minister, announced on Monday that the country is getting ready to take action against Hamas, the militant group in control of Gaza. This operation will involve using air, ground, and sea forces.
In the last 24 hours, over 700 people died in Gaza as a result of Israeli attacks on what they believed were Hamas targets. This is the highest number of deaths in a single day since the attacks began two and a half weeks ago. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah shared this information on Tuesday. The ministry said that among the people who died, there were 305 children, 173 women, and 78 elderly individuals.
The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, told soldiers on Tuesday that the recent strikes killed many terrorists. We dealt the enemy a very strong attack that they have never experienced before in just one day. “We have killed many terrorists, maybe even more,” he said.
Israel’s leaders have promised to eliminate Hamas in retaliation for their October 7 terrorist attacks and kidnapping spree, which resulted in the deaths of 1,400 people (mostly innocent civilians) and over 200 people being taken as hostages.
In Gaza, where people are isolated from the outside world because of a strong blockade, Israeli airstrikes have destroyed entire neighborhoods, including houses, schools, and mosques. On Monday, CNN used a drone to film the damage in some areas of the strip. The footage showed entire streets that were completely flattened in the al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City. It also showed a line of buildings known as al-Zahra towers in central Gaza that were destroyed.
New numbers from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, show that at least 5,087 people have died from Israeli attacks in the area. This includes 2,055 children. The situation in Gaza is getting worse, and countries around the world are having a hard time agreeing on what to do.
The US rejects the request for a halt in fighting between Israel and Hamas. A spokesperson from the National Security Council, John Kirby, said on CNN that Hamas needs to let go of the people they are holding against their will in Gaza before a ceasefire can happen.
China, Russia, and Slovenia have asked for the fighting to stop, while Brazil and Ireland have suggested temporary breaks to provide help and support.
There were strong emotions at the UN Security Council on Tuesday when Secretary General António Guterres asked for an immediate ceasefire to help people who need help.
“Protecting ordinary people does not involve forcing over one million individuals to leave for the southern area where there are no places to stay, no food, no water, no medicine, and no fuel. Additionally, they are still being attacked in the south. ”
Guterres also stated that we should understand that the attacks by Hamas did not occur without any cause. The Palestinian people have endured 56 years of a very oppressive occupation. ” They have watched their land slowly taken over by towns and troubled by violence; their economy suppressed; their people forced to leave and their homes destroyed.
He said that Hamas’ terrible actions cannot excuse punishing all the Palestinian people. Dear honorable individuals, even during times of war, there are certain guidelines that need to be followed.
The Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, wrote on social media that he wants Guterres to quit right away. He also said that Guterres is not suitable to be the leader of the UN. The Israeli Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, was at the United Nations on Tuesday. He stated that he would not meet with Guterres and believes that a fair approach is not suitable.
“Hamas should be completely eliminated from the world. ” Cohen wrote on X, which is also called Twitter.
Israel’s ability to protect itself was supported by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the Security Council. He said that it is important to have breaks in fighting to let aid reach people in Gaza who need it. He specifically said not to use the word “ceasefire. ”
Blinken told the council that Israel needs to try its best to keep civilians safe and asked Hamas to stop using Palestinian people as a way to protect themselves.
Fuel is very important for living in Gaza. If there is no fuel, then water cannot be moved or turned into drinkable water. The machines that make hospitals work, like incubators, ventilators, and kidney machines, also won’t work. These machines need fuel to function. Fuel is also needed to clean surgical tools.
According to the World Health Organization, six hospitals in Gaza had to shut down because they did not have enough fuel.
The WHO says that six hospitals in the Gaza Strip have closed because they don’t have enough fuel. This is in addition to other hospitals that have closed because of damage and attacks.
The World Health Organization (WHO) alerted that unless Gaza urgently receives essential fuel and extra health supplies, many sick people who are at risk may die.
Save the Children said on Monday that more than 1 million children are stuck in Gaza without a safe place to go. They also warned about the serious effects of not having enough medicine and electricity to power important health facilities in the area.
A big organization of United Nations in Gaza stated that it will have to stop providing help in Gaza on Wednesday if fuel is not allowed into the area.
A person who works for CNN tried to escape from Gaza with his family. Learn the reasons for why he had to go back. The UNRWA said on social media that if we don’t get fuel soon, we will have to stop working in the Gaza Strip starting tomorrow night.
Gaza needs a lot of fuel every day, about 160,000 litres (42,267 gallons). This fuel is not only for the UNRWA facilities, but also for hospitals, bakeries, and other important things that people need. Juliette Touma, a spokeswoman for the organization, said this.
Israeli and UN authorities have said that over the weekend, no fuel trucks from Egypt’s Rafah border crossing entered Gaza as part of a humanitarian aid convoy, despite the urgent need for it.
But, the leader of the Israel Defense Forces said on Tuesday that they will try to give fuel to help the people who are suffering. He repeated Israel’s stance that it will not allow the fuel to get to Hamas because they don’t want Hamas to keep fighting against the people of Israel.
The Lieutenant said that they will ensure there is enough fuel in the necessary locations to provide medical care to civilians. General Herzi Halevi mentioned that the IDF didn’t explain how they would get fuel to the people who needed it the most.
Earlier, Mark Regev, who advises Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said on CNN that Israel would not permit fuel to enter Gaza, even if all the hostages were set free.
Right now, we do not want to give any more fuel to the Hamas military machine. We have only approved medicine and water. We have given permission for food, but we have not given permission for anything else,” Regev stated.
The government has decided not to give fuel because they believe that Hamas will steal it and use it to power rockets that they shoot into Israel to harm our people.
The United Nations is carefully monitoring to see if Hamas is taking humanitarian aid meant for people in Gaza for themselves. So far, they haven’t seen any signs of this happening, according to the spokesperson for the US State Department, Matt Miller.
On Monday, Hamas let go of two Israeli citizens, who were older women. This happened because there was a lot of pressure from around the world to make sure the other abducted people are also released from Gaza. An 85-year-old grandmother named Yocheved Lifshitz was recently released after being kidnapped and taken to Gaza by gunmen. She described her terrible experience as going through hell.
Two American hostages, Judith Tai Raanan and her 17-year-old daughter, Natalie Raanan, were set free on Friday. Now, these other people are also being released.
The person speaking for the National Security Council, named Kirby, did not say on Tuesday whether the Israeli attacks on Gaza were causing any problems in trying to bring back or move hostages safely. This person said to CNN that the current US government, led by Biden, still does not know where and how the American hostages being kept by Hamas are doing.
In Gaza, there are now cases of chickenpox, scabies, and diarrhea because the health conditions are getting worse, there is not enough cleanliness, and people are drinking water that is not safe, according to the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Health.
Hospitals are in a very bad condition as they are extremely full, operating at more than their full capacity. The situation is so serious that surgeries are being done without anesthesia and sometimes using the light from phones, according to the health ministry of the Palestinian Authority.
Approximately 50,000 pregnant women are facing difficulties in obtaining medical care. Every day, there are roughly 166 unsafe births, and over 5,000 women are expected to give birth in the next month.
The biggest hospital in Gaza City, called Al-Shifa Hospital, has enough fuel for only two days, as stated by Marwan Abusada, a senior surgeon, on Monday.
The situation in Al-Shifa is very bad, a doctor said that without electricity, the hospital will become a place where a lot of people will die, and there is nothing they can do to help the injured people.
According to British-Palestinian surgeon Ghassan Abu-Sittah, the situation is falling apart and the fighting needs to stop.
If there is no fire or a safe path for people to leave, the existing catastrophe will become even worse.
The Gaza hospital has more than 130 new babies, but it is almost out of fuel.
A doctor who takes care of newborn babies in a hospital in southern Gaza said to CNN on Monday that if urgent fuel is not brought into the area, premature babies who need oxygen will die.
Hatem Edhair, who is in charge of the Neonatal ICU at Nasser Medical Complex, stated that all unnecessary services such as lights and air conditioning have been switched off.
He said there are 11 babies in his special hospital unit for newborns who are very sick, and most of them weigh less than 1. 5The number of babies coming to the unit is increasing because people from the north of Gaza are moving to the south.
Yesterday, twenty additional trucks filled with important supplies arrived in Gaza. However, aid organizations are concerned that the current speed of delivery will not be enough to meet the needs of over 2 million people living there.
According to UNRWA, on Tuesday, only eight out of the planned 20 aid trucks were able to enter Gaza. They didn’t say why the other twelve trucks didn’t make it across the crossing.
According to the United Nations, the place usually gets 455 trucks carrying aid every day. This means that Gaza is missing more than 7,200 truckloads of aid that it would normally receive between October 7 and October 22, even with the deliveries over the weekend.
That’s a tiny portion of the usual aid it gets – just one out of every two hundred parts. -

Over 5,000 deaths recorded in Gaza, almost half of them children – Officials
Health officials report that nearly 5,100 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have lost their lives since Israel initiated an extensive bombing campaign against the besieged enclave, following an attack by Hamas within Israel over two weeks ago.
On Monday, Gaza’s Ministry of Health disclosed that approximately 40 percent of the 5,087 casualties are children.
This revelation coincided with the Israeli army’s announcement of over 300 new air attacks carried out within a 24-hour period.
Palestinian officials stated that more than 400 individuals lost their lives during that timeframe.
In the wake of the conflict, thousands of buildings lie in ruins, and over one million people have been displaced within the territory.
Gaza, under siege and facing severe shortages of water, food, and other essential supplies, remains in a dire humanitarian situation.
As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to “erase Hamas,” hostilities continued to intensify throughout the night, with the looming prospect of a full-scale ground invasion.
It is worth noting that Hamas’s earlier attack in southern Israel resulted in the death of at least 1,400 people, predominantly civilians, according to Israeli officials.
The Israeli military declared on Monday that it had attacked “over 320 military targets in the Gaza Strip” in the day preceding.
It said the targets “included tunnels containing Hamas terrorists, dozens of operational command centres” as well as “military compounds and observation posts” used by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another armed group.
More than 60 people were killed in the raids during the night, including 17 in a single strike that struck a house in northern Gaza, according to the government media office in Gaza. At least 10 more people were killed in fresh strikes that occurred early on Monday.
Mohammed Abu Sabalah, a resident of Rafah in the south, claimed that on Monday, “a quarter of an hour later there was a bombing” happened after he had returned home from a mosque following dawn prayers.
“We couldn’t see anything because of the thick smoke,” he said, adding, “We thank God that we’ve emerged safe and sound” with “only a few windows and doors destroyed”.
Tala Herzallah, 21, who evacuated to the south following Israel’s order to leave the northern Gaza Strip on October 13, said last night “could not be “described in words”.
“We were literally shaking due to fear. We didn’t know if we would wake up alive or not,” Tala noted, adding that she woke up in the morning to a “series of bombings” nearby.
Israeli forces have gathered near the Gaza border, and smaller units have conducted limited incursions to target Hamas and attempt to rescue captives taken by the group from Israel on October 7. Israel currently estimates the number of captives at 222.
“We were displaced from Tal al-Hawa to Rafah at the request of the Israeli army, and this is what happened to us. My son is a 3-month-old martyr,” the father of a child killed in an attack in Rafah told Al Jazeera.
Hamas confirmed the skirmishes, stating its fighters encountered an Israeli armored unit infiltrating east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The group reported that its fighters destroyed some Israeli military equipment.

16 tonnes of food items sent from Rwanda to Gaza
The Rwanda government has provided help to the people in Gaza who are in need.
The government sent a donation to a charity organization called JHCO in Jordan. It has already reached the capital city, Amman.
Mr Mukuralinda said that it was made to help with the international rescue effort.
The donation includes 16 tons of food, medicines, and medical supplies. Rwanda also emphasizes the importance of reducing tension to keep innocent people safe.
Rwanda is a country in Africa that is closely connected to Israel. The leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, went to Rwanda in 2016.
Both countries have similar tragic events related to the killing of their own people, said Mr. Netanyahu in the visitor’s book after visiting a memorial for the victims of Rwanda’s 1994 genocide.
More than 800,000 people, mostly Tutsis, were killed in 1994. During the Second World War, six million Jewish people were killed in a tragic event called the Holocaust. -

How has Israel responded to most recent bombings?
Officials from the Palestinian health ministry in the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Hamas, say that over 430 people have died since yesterday morning.
Israel continued to launch missiles and drop bombs yesterday and throughout the night. This morning, pictures showed families standing near buildings that have been destroyed and turned into pieces, and injured people lying on the road near hospitals.
This morning, the Israeli army said it attacked around 320 places in the last day. These places included a tunnel where Hamas fighters were hiding and lookout posts.
The IDF claims that it obeys rules from other countries and tries to reduce harm to civilians as much as possible.More update on this story soon…

Khan Younis has limited food and water supplies – Gaza refugee
Ghada Ouda, a Palestinian translator who left her home in Gaza City, describes the constant sound of bombing in her surroundings.
Ouda sent a voice recording to the BBC, where he talks about what is happening in the southern part of the area. We don’t have much food or water left. “She says we sleep on the ground. ”
The Palestinians who are living there only have canned food and some vegetables, but it is not enough for them to survive.
“According to her, bread is hard to find. ” We have to travel long distances. It takes you about five hours to get enough bread for everyone in the family, but there still isn’t enough for everyone. -

Israeli military forces close to Gaza after a cross-border incursion
Per the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), there were a few nocturnal operations into Gaza, as we have previously reported.
One soldier was killed on Gazan land, but this is hardly the start of a large-scale ground invasion. There were three more wounded IDF soldiers.
This morning, these are the conditions on the Israeli side of the fence.
