Aborting a baby is not a big deal – S3fa

The popular artist behind the hit song ‘E choke,’ S3fa, has expressed her concern regarding individuals who consider abortion to be the gravest sin in life.

During an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the female singer openly shared her perspective on abortion, stating that she sees no wrongdoing in individuals who choose to undergo the procedure.

This conversation arose following Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson‘s revelation in her memoir about having terminated a pregnancy she had with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie.

S3fa, in support of Yvonne Nelson’s actions, criticized Ghanaians who condemned the actress for her decision, asserting that these individuals engage in behaviors far worse than abortion.

She said: “Do you know the number of people who have done abortions in Ghana? The people criticising Yvonne Nelson have probably done worse things than her but they are here saying all sorts of things about her as if they are innocent”.

The Afrobeat singer further expressed her openness by stating that if she were to write a book in the future, she would have no qualms about sharing her personal secrets, including the number of abortions she has undergone.

“If I am to write my memoir today and there is a portion where I have to include an abortion or anything personal about my life, I will not hesitate to add that part of my life story. Unless I decide not to write a book but if I do, I will go all out with it including an abortion if I did that,” she said.

S3fa is a talented Ghanaian female artist who is presently signed to Black Avenue Muzik, a record label owned by D-Black. She has gained popularity for her captivating songs such as ‘E Choke,’ ‘Shuga,’ and ‘Fever,’ the latter featuring notable artists Sarkodie and DJ Tira.

  • This is what Sarkodie’s wife said about her father last year

This is what Sarkodie’s wife said about her father last year

Many children dream of growing up with the love and support of their parents, but not everyone gets to enjoy that privilege.

Some circumstances may separate them from one or both of their parents, leaving them with a void that is hard to fill.

This is the story of Tracy Owusu Addo, popularly known as Tracy Sarkcess, the wife of renowned Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, aka Sarkodie.

    Sarkodie’s wife, Tracy Sarkcess

Tracy, in a heartfelt revelation, some eight months ago on Tv3’s ‘The Day Show’, shared her experiences growing up without the presence of both her parents. Like many with the same experience, Tracy understands the profound longing for parental love and guidance.

Tracy revealed that her mum left Ghana when she was only three years old, and her dad followed suit two years later.

“My mum actually left Ghana when I was three, and my dad left when I was five so all my life I grew up with my aunties. I lived with one of my aunties for a while and later on before I moved to Germany I lived with my grandmother,” she said.

This meant that she didn’t have the privilege of growing up with both parents by her side during her formative years.

At age thirteen, Tracy joined her mother in Germany while her father was still away in another country. Her stay in Germany afforded her several great experiences including the ability to speak the language fluently.

According to her, she moved on to study in the United Kingdom (UK) and subsequently in the United States of America (USA).

Tracy, who has lived the majority of her teenage years and early to mid twenties in Europe and America, decided to relocate back to Ghana after she gave birth to her first child, Adalyn Owusu Addo, affectionately known as Titi. She quit her job abroad and settled in Ghana to create a family unit with her husband and kids. She explained that her dad’s absence in her life motivated this decision.

Tracy, who spoke little of her father’s involvement in upbringing, said she made the decision to come back to Ghana, because she did not want to continue the pattern of a child having both parents living in separate locations.

Thus, she and her husband made a conscious choice to create a loving and stable family unit for their children by living together.

They wanted to break the cycle and create a united family, where both parents are actively present.

“I came to Ghana after I had my daughter Titi. I had intentions of coming but I think for us, it was more about finding the right time and also making sure that the situation that we are in is conducive for taking care of a child, setting up our own home, all of those things,” Tracy explained.

“I was working so I came during my maternity leave and then I was here and I think we just decided that it’s best to stay instead of going back again because we wanted to create that family unit. He [Sarkodie] didn’t think it was the right thing to do to have the parents separated and then the kids, because I didn’t grow up having my dad around. So I wanted to do something different and my husband also wanted to do something because he also didn’t grow up with his dad around.”

Tracy’s courageous decision to prioritise family and create a loving environment demonstrates her determination to give her children the upbringing she longed for.

Behind the glitz and glamour of the music industry, Tracy Sarkcess’s story is a testament to the power of resilience and the strength of family bonds. She continues to embrace her role as a wife and mother, rewriting the narrative and leaving a lasting impact on her children’s lives.

  • Abortion brouhaha likely to derail Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson’s mental health – Psychologist

Abortion brouhaha likely to derail Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson’s mental health – Psychologist

As a recent abortion controversy swirls around renowned Ghanaian artists Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson, mental health experts are voicing concerns about the potential negative effects on the well-being of these celebrities. In an recent interview, a prominent psychologist has shed light on the possible emotional and psychological repercussions that such a publicized issue can have on individuals’ mental health.

Dr. Isaac Newman Arthur, a medical doctor and clinical psychologist, says the social media outburst arising from Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson impasse could worsen their mental wellbeing and not heal them emotionally.

The release of Yvonne Nelson’s memoir has sparked social media conversations, especially after Sarkodie’s damning “Try Me” response over their relationship that took place some years ago.

According to Dr Newman Arthur, who is also the Acting Director of University of Professional Studies Medical Directorate, the exposure of such sensitive issues regarding their private lives had repercussions for not only the celebrities involved but their children as well as people who look up to them.

“One of the most ‘dangerous’ places to express your emotions and failures is on social media. When you do that, you lose control of what people will say or do to you.

“People’s responses on social media can add on to the pain and worsen their mental wellbeing. The safest place to heal is in a professional setting with the right professional. They both need to heal. Really, we all need healing,” he said.

When asked to share his opinion about the actions of both celebrities, Dr. Newman Arthur said: “I am not sure exactly why Yvonne Nelson put it out there, whatever the reason was, it expressed how she felt, and also, Sarkodie’s response expressed how he also felt.

“Unfortunately, the masses are divided on who did the right thing. This shows that there was something basically wrong. As for the impact on people, it may set a negative or positive precedence on issues regarding sensitive issues like abortion, relationships, trust, and confidentiality, depending on how people will evaluate what was put out there.”

Dr Arthur expressed concern about the repercussions it could have on their kids, especially when they grow up.

“Whatever we put out there never goes away. For the kids, it may affect the value they place on themselves and lead to identity crises, anxiety in social settings, and depression if they don’t receive the right help,” he stated.

  • Counsellor Lutterodt reacts to Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson’s saga

Counsellor Lutterodt reacts to Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson’s saga

Numerous celebrities and individuals have weighed in with their diverse opinions on the trending controversy involving Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson.

Among those expressing their opinions is Counsellor Lutterodt. While the specifics of Counsellor Lutterodt’s stance on the matter are not provided, it can be inferred that he has contributed to the ongoing discourse surrounding the controversy.

Counsellor Lutterodt is part of a minority group who believe that Sarkodie should not be held responsible or blamed for the situation that unfolded between him and Yvonne Nelson. While the exact details of their perspective are not mentioned, it can be inferred that they hold the view that Sarkodie bears no fault or culpability in the controversy. This opinion contrasts with the perspectives of others who may hold different views on the matter.

In an interview on Angel TV and shared by Sikaofficial on Twitter, he went ahead to say Ghanaians would have had every right to blame the rapper if it was an issue of rape, but since it was a mutual agreement between the two, then Sarkodie has done nothing wrong.

Sarkodie has not done anything wrong except if Yvonne says Sarkodie raped me. But consensual sexual intercourse—where does it stand for us to say this,” he said.

Counsellor Lutterodt further said Yvonne Nelson should have considered some possible future outcomes when revealing some sensitive information in her book.

He added that as such, now that information about her has been disclosed, there’s no way people are going to forget about it because the internet is not a dead end.

He stated: “A book that we want to read, and the essence of the book is bringing memories that will not give you a future that we are talking about. Be careful what you say today. The internet is not a dead end; it is a reproductive organ that reproduces itself at the time you don’t need the content”.

He went ahead to say it’s good when one wants the world to know how he or she feels but should rather know the right platform to make their emotions known; therefore, he thinks the actress should not have spilled all her secrets in her memoir.

“She might be speaking the truth, but sometimes some truths should be hidden. There are some truths one has to take to the grave. We should ask Yvonne Nelson if she can reveal the total number of men with names and titles she has slept with,” he said.

On June 18, 2023, Yvonne Nelson released a memoir titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ which detailed some life experiences, including her encounter with Sarkodie and her search for her father. She stated how she had to abort the pregnancy because Sarkodie was not in support of keeping it, and how she thought of saving the child from the pain she (Yvonne) has been through having grown up without a father.

Sarkodie responded with a song explaining that Yvonne should not make it seem as though he “was the one pushing for abortion” because the actress, among others, rejected the idea of his doctor attending to her; instead, she opted for a doctor her friend suggested, claiming “he is the best”.

He rapped that Yvonne should not claim to be a good girl because she is for the streets, adding that if she wants to talk, she should list the men she has slept with because he thought she “was cool” until he “had a hint” about her sexual escapes at the time.

  • Sarkodie’s Try Me removed from Apple Music and Spotify

Sarkodie’s Try Me removed from Apple Music and Spotify

Sarkodie’s controversial song ‘Try Me’, which was a response to Yvonne Nelson’s allegations in her memoir, has been removed from Apple Music and Spotify.

The song, which was released on June 28, 2023, sparked a lot of backlash from Ghanaians, who accused the rapper of ‘slut shaming’ the actress and disrespecting womanhood.

In her memoir, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’, the actress claimed that Sarkodie impregnated her in 2010 and denied responsibility. She also revealed how he took her to a clinic for an abortion and left her there to bleed.

Sarkodie, however, denied Yvonne’s claims and accused her of lying. He said it was her choice to abort the baby and that she was playing the victim card because the world listens to women more than men.

The song also called out Yvonne for being promiscuous and having multiple partners.

The song has since been taken down from Apple Music and Spotify, following complaints from some gender activists and online users.

One of them, Esther Tawiah, urged the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to ban the song and make Sarkodie a scapegoat for denigrating womanhood.

She said the song’s lyrics belittled the abortion pains of Yvonne Nelson and showed no empathy for her situation.

She made these remarks on GHOne TV, where she was interviewed by Natalie Fort.

One twitter user @ShadrackAmonooC, who joined several users in discussing the latest development, alleged that the song was removed from the streaming platforms because the beat used was sampled without authorisation by the music producer MOG.

A claim that was reinforced by user @flexkgermain.

Many people have also expressed their displeasure with Sarkodie’s song on social media and called for an apology from him.

Yvonne Nelson has not yet responded to this new development concerning Sarkodie’s Try Me.

  • Paul Adom Otchere tells Sarkodie to apologise to Yvonne

Paul Adom Otchere tells Sarkodie to apologise to Yvonne

Paul Adom Otchere, host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, to add his voice to the Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie brouhaha. According to him, Sarkodie,’s response to Yvonne Nelson, was inappropriate.

In response to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir where she accused the rapper of impregnating her and refusing to take responsibility which led to having an abortion. Sarkodie released the diss track “try me.”

The book “I am not Yvonne Nelson” paints a grim picture of the actress’s experiences as a young woman navigating life faced with difficult choices. One was the decision to abort a pregnancy she carried for rapper Sarkodie.

In a response, Sarkodie described Yvonne as a ‘promiscuous woman made for the street’.

    Parts of the lyrics reads:

“you gotta tell the world every god damn nigga you f*ck*d

you can’t just play the victim and paint a picture like you were just looking for love from all the d*cks that you sucked”

His response received a lot of backlash from the public, describing some of his lyrics as “slut shaming”

Mr. Paul Adom Otchere in his opinion, said the best thing was for Sarkodie to apologize to the public and Yvonne

“For all what it’s worth, I think that Sarkodie owes Yvonne and the book readers a certain apology, it is true that Yvonne has brought out something she shouldn’t have, she is trying to play victim and take advantage of the story but it is a true story, so he should have apologised to the general public and say, I’m sorry I was too young because you don’t want young boys to think that it is okay to have unprotected sex and impregnate a woman and you both agree to abort.”

Additionally, he asserted that it is untrue that Sarkodie did not have a personal physician at the time of Yvonne’s abortion because he was doing okay as a musician.

“We cannot call Sarkodie poor in 2010, he wasn’t as big as he is today like the BET level but he was not bad”

As someone who invests so much in his public image, Mr. Adom Otchere thinks this is a PR fiasco for Sarkodie

“In terms of PR, his apology should have come first”

  • Seeing Sarkodie’s ‘Try Me’ song being aired on TV is surprising – Blakk Rasta

Seeing Sarkodie’s ‘Try Me’ song being aired on TV is surprising – Blakk Rasta

Renowned Ghanaian musician and radio presenter, Abubakar Ahmed, popularly known as Blakk Rasta, has expressed shock at the airing of ‘Try Me’ released by Sarkodie on television.

Speaking to the media, the Barack Obama hitmaker expressed concerns about the content of the song, describing it as vulgar, and childish.

The comments by Blakk Rasta come on the back of the airing of the ‘Try me’ song by the Accra-based television station.

The song which happens to be Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson after he was indicted in her book titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’, contained some explicit words.

He criticised Sarkodie and the song for its explicit content and questioned the decision to air it on national television, emphasizing the potential negative influence it may have on the younger generation.

“I am really shocked this song is being played on TV. Vulgarity, immaturity, childishness, 3ye ya paa to wit [its hurtful]. Because this thing is going to come online for them to watch. You can get access to this, you can say it’s night so I will air it, but the daytime it’s vulgar,” he said.

In responding to the hostess’ justification for airing the song on TV, Blakk Rasta said it gives the song a wider reach.

“if you ask me that, you are trying to endorse the fact that you are giving it milage. Maybe on his platform, only people will watch but a huge fat programme like this, you’ve given it more mileage,” he said.

“I thought that there will be a clean version. What you played is the dirty version,” he added.

Some days after Yvonne Nelson launched her memoir, ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’, Sarkodie released a song to respond to claims made in the book against him.

According to him, the lingering pain expressed by both parties indicates an undying affection for one another.

Mr Logic passionately explained his theory, highlighting a crucial telltale sign of true love—the ability to feel the sting of hurt inflicted by your partner.

“She mentioned his name, Michael, with so much passion. That’s when I knew she was hurt. She still loves Sarkodie. I’m telling you the truth,” he declared during a spirited discussion on United Showbiz.

“When a woman loves you, you can tell by how she reacts to the things you do to her. Yvonne still loves Sarkodie and Sarkodie still has Yvonne in his heart. He also still loves her. They both expressed their feelings, their hurt, in their responses and it’s obvious,” he explained.

Furthermore, Mr Logic stressed that Sarkodie still harbors a soft spot for Yvonne.

“Did you catch the part where Sarkodie mentioned Yvonne wanted to meet him at her house, but he refused? It’s because he knows that if they meet alone, something will happen. Sarkodie can’t resist Yvonne,” Mr Logic revealed.

In response to Yvonne Nelson’s explosive revelations, Sarkodie unleashed his own musical counterpunch, a track titled ‘Try Me,’ which sent shockwaves across the online sphere.

Yvonne had shared intimate details about their relationship in 2010, including her pregnancy and subsequent abortion, where she experienced a harrowing ordeal alone at a health facility.

However, Sarkodie, in his defiant single ‘Try Me,’ offered his side of the story.

He adamantly asserted that Yvonne made the independent decision to terminate the pregnancy.

Will the ever resolve this issue, or is this the final point in their friendship? Only time will tell as the saga continues to unfold.

Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson, in the opinion of music and entertainment commentator Mr. Logic, was unnecessary.

He believes that Sarkodie should have been empathetic towards Yvonne Nelson considering her story.

To him, Sarkodie could have let sleeping dogs lie.

“The attacks, the response was needless. If he wanted to cash out like Yvonne then fine. However, I’m of the view that Sarkodie could have stopped his response,” he said.

However, Mr Logic quizzed whether Sarkodie was the only man to have made Yvonne Nelson pregnant in her lifetime and caused her to commit an abortion because if he’s not the only one, then her picking on Sarkodie was not worth it.

Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson that caused a stir online

Sarkodie has released a track titled ‘Try Me’, which is a response to Yvonne Nelson’s allegations.

One can recall that after narrating how the rapper impregnated her and denied responsibility, Yvonne Nelson, in her memoir, also detailed how he drove her to a health facility where she bled profusely in his absence.

In a chapter titled ‘Abortion’, in her book, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’, the actress disclosed how Sarkodie accompanied her to the Mamprobi Polyclinic for abortion and since never bothered to find out how the procedure went.

However, telling his side of the story in the single, ‘Try Me’, Sarkodie detailed that it was Yvonne’s sole decision to abort the pregnancy.

Although the rapper admitted that they had a relationship, he said Yvonne was only playing the victim and taking advantage of the fact that the world listens to women more than men.

“I’m not gonna sit here and lie, we had a thing. First I thought you were cool till I had a hint,” he sang in English before stating in Twi that he thought he had gotten a good girl only to realise there were others in the queue after him.”

The chorus to the song is translated thus: “If you don’t love me, leave me. Why are you pestering me? What is meant for me you have gone to give to Kwame. I have become teary.

“If you don’t love me, leave me let me be. Someone else is longing to be with me, when you were leaving me you failed to notify me. Baby girl don’t try me.”

He also add that He did not ask Yvonne Nelson to abort the baby and that it was her sole decision.

He asked her to keep the baby but she chose her education above the baby,

He asked his doctor to examine her but she refused the offer, and she opted for an abortion doctor prescribed by her friend and also Yvonne recently tried to get them to talk about the episode but he turned down her terms.

As the drama still unfolds, she awaits the outcome of these revelations.

    Elikem and Pokello

Their marriage lasted for just two years although they were perceived as a ‘power couple’.

The ‘Big Brother Chase’ lovebirds Elikem Kumordzie and Pokello Nare became the envy of every relationship, particularly when the former proposed to the latter live on stage at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

However, in the same capacity, social media witnessed their dramatic fallout which resulted in Pokello relocating to Zimbabwe with their son, Tristan.

On reasons why their marriage failed, Pokello stated in an interview sometime in 2020, “Elikem is not ready to be a husband and unfortunately, after 4 years of trying to be patient with all his transgression, I just couldn’t do it anymore”.

    Afia Schwarzenegger and Lawrence Abrokwa

Vudumane criticizes Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie for revealing private information

In a recent development, Ghana’s Afropiano sensation, King Vudumane, has expressed strong disapproval of Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson’s actions, emphasizing that it is both unhealthy and inappropriate to discuss such personal and sensitive matters in the public sphere.

Vudumane’s remarks have garnered significant attention as he delved into the viral controversy surrounding Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, where she revealed intimate details about her past relationship with the rapper, including the distressing revelation of a terminated pregnancy.

According to the US-based artiste who doubles as a producer, Yvonne Nelson was wrong in detailing her private affair with Sarkodie while condemning the latter for his response.

“It is just unpleasant seeing what is going viral in Ghana. Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie are two huge influencers and shouldn’t be portraying certain dark secrets and justifying them in their own creative ways,” he stated.

He further stated that Ghanaians should not be encouraging such behaviour and that it is wrong to write about abortion or compose a song talking about certain sensitive issues.

Vudumane’s video has sparked a lot of debate on social media, with many people agreeing with his views while others disagree.

Some people believe that Yvonne Nelson should have the right to tell her story, while others believe that it was wrong for Sarkodie to make a song about it.

“I pray they both heal”- George Quaye reacts to Sarkodie and Yvonne’s brouhaha

In the midst of the ongoing brouhaha between Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie, media personality George Quaye has penned down his thoughts on the matter.

In a lengthy Facebook post, he began by acknowledging the pain that many women experience in silence, concealed by their smiling faces.

He also addresses the issue of women who are unable to give birth for a variety of reasons, including feticides brought on by bad timing, unplanned pregnancies, rape, and abuse. He also highlights the struggles of women who have loved men who did not reciprocate their feelings and the emotional toll it takes on them.

According to him Yvonne Nelson’s book “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” has helped a lot of women feel comforted and empowered.

He added that Yvonne and Sarkodie have both narrated the truth the best way they could. “Lady spoke her truth the best way she could . Man spoke his truth the best way he could”

He however, concluded by saying that he couldn’t take sides, because he sees both Yvonne and Sarkodie has family. can only pray they both heal.

    Read full post below:

If you had the slightest idea the number of women walking around in pain consealed by shiny smiles…

If you had the slightest idea the number of women crying deep down for years lost loving a man who never loved them back…years they can never regain…

If you had the slightest idea the number of women unable to give birth due to feticides they had to undergo for various reasons…bad timing, unplanned, rape, abuse by close family members, teachers, caretakers, drivers, bosses, spiritual fathers, godfathers, etc.

If you had the slightest idea the number of women screaming in silence, watching men they literally “sacrificed everything for”, totally ignore them in their daily struggles while they (the men) build happy homes with other women and openly flaunt same in their faces, you would probably understand why so many have embraced her book and described it as empowering, liberating, etc.

You see, for many, it is not about the book. It’s about the fact that someone found the voice they could never find to say the things they could never say.

But that is not to say they are all right.
It is also not to say they are even slightly wrong.

Lady spoke her truth the best way she could.
Man spoke his truth the best way he could.
    Lady was mostly praised
    Man is mostly being criticized…
I recall reading and hearing statements like…
“You cannot tell her how to tell her story…”
But wait, you can tell him how to tell his?

    How is that fair?

Let us go to Immanuel Kant for a second…

“The categorical imperative is a moral principle which denotes that you should “act only in accordance with that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it become a universal law”,

Simply means that you should act a certain way only if you’re willing to have everyone else act the same way too. In other words, do not change the rod you used when disciplining Takyi when it’s time to discipline Baah.

You accept her style, language, approach, choice of who to mention or not mention, etc but describe his as distasteful, disgraceful, disrespectful, etc?
Are they both not telling their stories?
How should one truth told the best way possible be any different from the other?

Personally I had hoped he wouldn’t respond.
But i also know better than to judge a man if I haven’t walked three feet in his shoes.
Why didn’t I want him to respond?

Well, because when you are in the limelight, you are an institution.
Everything you say or do is “relevant”. You are someone’s business. You are part of the “raw material” that go into the processing plants of that factory called Mass Media.

People look up to you. So sometimes i think it’s just best to leave certain things alone. But who am I to determine how someone should react when “poked”?

I keep asking myself whether or not we would be here if and only if, like she did with others in the same book, she left his name out but described him and left the rest to our imagination…
But who am I to tell someone how to tell her story?

    This is hard…

But hey, to all the guys and girls…mostly girls hurting deeply out there, please have faith and just hold on…Find a counselor…talk to someone…get it off your chest…and if it’s not too much to ask, please let it go.

    Yvonne is my sister.
    Sark is my brother.

I cannot take sides… I can only pray they both heal.

Another lady accuses Sarkodie of impregnating her without taking responsibility

Mrs-adelz, an Instagram user, has recently made serious allegations against musician Sarkodie. In a post shared on her Instagram account, Mrs-adelz claimed that Sarkodie had engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse with a young woman. When the woman became pregnant, Sarkodie allegedly blocked her on all his social media platforms and pressured her to have an abortion.

On June 29, 2023, Mrs-Adelsz shared a post offering further details about the alleged incident involving musician Sarkodie. In her post, she described the lady involved as dark-skinned, disclosing that her initials begin with ‘F’ and end with ‘A’. The content of the post emphasized the importance of Sarkodie exhibiting maturity and accepting responsibility as a man.

This statement follows Yvonne Nelson’s previous assertion that Sarkodie had also caused her to terminate a pregnancy she had from their past relationship.

The post said Sarkodie’s meeting with the unnamed lady took place in 2016 at Rockstone’s Office, now known as Django Bar.

Yvonne Nelson recently launched her book, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” where she embarks on a personal journey to uncover her unknown father, the actress revealed intimate details about herself, including her encounter with Sarkodie and the alleged abortion she underwent because the musician was not ready to be a father.

    Read the post below:

“I wouldn’t have said anything if you had just kept quiet Mr self-acclaimed the best rapper. I usually mind my business but I despise in general, people that refuse to take responsibility and accountability for their actions. Do you remember in 2016 when you sent one of your boys to take the contact info of a chocolate-looking lady whose name starts with an F and ends with A at Rockstone’s Office now called Django Bar?

“You got in touch with her and you had unprotected s*x with her that resulted into pregnancy. You blocked her on all social media platforms, all efforts to reach out to you was in vain and she didn’t want the drama of contacting bloggers to tarnish your image, she got rid of the baby and moved on but the truth is she still carries the guilt even though she’s married now with kids. Or you do not remember because the victims are many?

“But you can forget the location though. I pray you become matured enough to take responsibility and accountability for your actions in the future. Some of us knows who you are. You can’t fool the world world. #MATURITY #THETRUTHSHALLSETYOUFREE @yvonnenelsongh @nkonkonsa @zionfelixdotcom… you are just fortunate i am not chasing clout, I would have recorded a video instead and I’m sure you would remember my face. Sarkodie’s ‘attack’ on Yvonne Nelson draws criticism from Mahama’s assistant

An adviser to former president John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah-Mogtari, has spoken out about alarming changes in Ghanaian society regarding how some people treat women.

She stated in a June 29 tweet that it was disturbing that such people engage in these acts in all facets of everyday life, doing so without seeing any wrong with it.

“Funny thing is that we still have some people who exhibit misogynistic attitudes, dominant chauvinism and patriarchy without making any bones about it.

“In our society, in schools, in politics, the church, the lyrics of our songs, the work place etc.” her tweet read.

One of the most topical issues in Ghana today has to do with the trending back and forth between actress and movie producer now author, Yvonne Nelson and musician Sarkodie.

Yvonne Nelson in her book ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,’ recounted a relationship she had with the musician in 2010, which relationship led to a pregnancy she was forced to abort because Sarkodie was not ready to be a father.

In his riposte, the musician released a track ‘Try Me’ earlier this week stating his side of the story but his use of certain words and terminologies was seen as sexist.

Yvonne Nelson responded to it by calling on Sarkodie to ‘respect womanhood’ and not attenpt to diminish the pain a young lady experienced; which comment also drew critique vis-a-vis portions of Yvonne’s book and what she said of her mother.

  • Vim Lady reacts to Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson bruohaha

Vim Lady reacts to Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson bruohaha

Ghanaian media personality and broadcaster Vim Lady has offered her perspective on the ongoing Sarkodie-Yvonne Nelson controversy, highlighting the significance of taking into account both parties involved in the controversy.

Vim Lady expressed her belief that when two consenting adults engage in raw sex or other sexual activities without using protection, they automatically accept the risks associated with such decisions in a thought-provoking social media post on Instagram.

She questioned the tendency to solely blame either the rapper or the actress for the situation, emphasizing the mutual responsibility shared by both parties.

Addressing her followers, Vim Lady stated, “If two people of age agree to RAW SEX, it means they’ve agreed to all the things that accompany it, so why do we blame Sarkodie or Yvonne alone?”

Her words encouraged a broader perspective that takes into account the choices made by both individuals involved in the scandal.

Recognizing the emotional impact of the controversy on Sarkodie, Yvonne, and their families, Vim Lady called for understanding and forgiveness.

She stressed the need for grace in moving past the scandal, stating, “Both Sark and Yvonne need to give themselves GRACE and find forgiveness to move on past this.”

The broadcaster highlighted the traumatic effects of public scrutiny and media attention, particularly on Yvonne’s mother, Sarkodie’s mother, and sisters.

Furthermore, Vim Lady emphasized the significance of considering potential coercion or influence in such situations.

She urged for a fair and balanced perspective, stating, “Unless one person can prove being influenced to have raw sex or sex without a condom (duress).”

By raising this point, she aimed to encourage a deeper understanding of the complexities involved and avoid hasty judgment.

In her message, Vim Lady appealed to the public to approach the controversy with empathy and sensitivity. She reminded her followers that the news trends alone can be distressing for both Sarkodie and Yvonne, as well as their families.

On the back of Yvonne’s claim that Sarkodie impregnated her in 2010 but had to abort the baby because the rapper did not like the idea of keeping the baby, Sarkodie replied with a track titled ‘Try Me.’

In the song, he addressed Yvonne’s accusations of pregnancy and denial, stating that it was her decision to undergo an abortion.

Sarkodie alleged that Yvonne was manipulating the situation, taking advantage of the fact that society tends to listen to women more than men.

Yvonne, on the other hand, took to Twitter to express her discontent with Sarkodie’s reply, engaging in a series of rants aimed at addressing the lyrics that hurt her the most.

As the controversy continues, the public eagerly awaits further developments in the Sarkodie-Yvonne scandal, hoping for a resolution that promotes understanding and healing for all parties involved.

  • You are fake – Blakk Rasta to Sarkodie

You are fake – Blakk Rasta to Sarkodie

Radio personality Blakk Rasta has accused Sarkodie of having a fake personality.

According to him, the rapper has been among the celebrities who pretend to have a good personality but in reality, they are fake and liars.

Speaking on his Urban Blend show on 3FM, the presenter argued that anyone who has had an encounter with him should be able to determine how fake he is adding that, he has a lot of proof to back his statement.

“People pretend to be who they are not and Sarkodie is one of those people; no two ways about that. Now if you have followed Sarkodie and you want to remove that veil from your eyes, you would know that this is a fake guy. There are so many things I can say about Sarkodie but for the fact that I would not have time to go through that, I would just mention a couple of them”, he stated.

One issue he raised to back his claims about Sarkodie was the fact that the rapper was unable to fund the treatment of a sick girl who came to him for help, rather than soliciting the said money from fans on Twitter.

He added that Sarkodie always says ‘money no be problem’ but he could not afford to pay for the sick girl’s treatment.

“There was a time Sarkodie was seeking some finance to help a girl who was sick. I think the amount involved was about GHC10,000 and this was about two years ago. Sarkodie came on Twitter and was asking people to donate to the cost of GHC10,000 to take care of a sick child who was in ICU.

“Yet, this is the same person who says ‘money no be problem’. If money is no problem, if somebody you claim is in ICU wants the money, you come and sit on Twitter and ask fans to donate”, he explained.

“Your street line is played out” – Yvonne Nelson claps back at Sarkodie

The ongoing drama between Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie seems to be reaching new heights, captivating fans and onlookers alike.

Yvonne Nelson has now taken a stand against Sarkodie’s alleged insinuations in his latest song, which appear to reference her recently released memoir, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.”

She wrote that Sarkodie drove her to an abortion clinic and encouraged her to terminate the pregnancy because he was in a serious relationship with another woman who would later become his wife.

She also claimed that he was not supportive of her decision and that he did not believe that she was pregnant in the first place.

Sarkodie is a popular Ghanaian rapper

“I had gone for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who missed her monthly flow. I was in the company of Karen. And when the test result was ready, I wasn’t strong enough to open it. She did and declared the verdict,” she wrote in Chapter 8 titled ‘Abortion’.

“On an ordinary day, I would have laughed out loud and that would trigger a string of jolly conversations and jokes. But this was no laughing matter. It was a grim piece of information that was capable of turning my world upside down. I wasn’t the only one responsible for the situation, so I called the man whose potent seed had germinated in me. His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian musician who is better known as Sarkodie.”

Her revelations sparked a lot of reactions from fans of both celebrities. Some were sceptical and thought it was a publicity stunt to boost her book sales, while others were sympathetic and blamed Sarkodie for being insensitive and irresponsible.

Sarkodie, who is known for being silent on controversies, surprised many when he released a song 11 days after the book launch that seemingly responds to Yvonne Nelson’s allegations.

The song, titled “Try Me”, features some lyrics that hint at their past relationship and dispute some of her claims.

He rapped: “First few hours heard the book is doing well. Who is really shocked Cos everybody can tell. So it’s not because your book is really good but we living in a world where negativity sells. I pray you get the healing that you need. M3n be claimi good girl, you are for the streets. Strategy na hot obaahemaa gye wo 2. Meaa ma gye one copy sharp I’m about to read.”

He also denied that he pushed her for an abortion and said that he told her to keep the baby but she refused.

“Yes I wasn’t ready but then I told you to keep it. Wo kyer3 me s3 wo school na wo ko gotto complete it. To be very honest till today I don’t believe it .Cos me kaas3 Meaa me doctor Mb3 wh3 wo you said you don’t need it. After conversation naa then you sent me a text. Ghanaian Actress, Yvonne Nelson

Yvonne Nelson, who was not amused by Sarkodie’s song, took to Twitter to clap back at him and defend herself.

She wrote: “Michael , you claim I was desperate to abort because I needed to complete school….would you have readily agreed for me to keep a pregnancy when you were in a serious relationship with another lady who would become your wife? Your street line is played out.”

The drama between the two stars has left many wondering what will happen next and how this will affect Sarkodie’s family, especially his wife and two children.

Sarkodie accuses Yvonne Nelson of being promiscuous

In response to accusations made by actress Yvonne Nelson in her just-released memoir, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has released a track titled “Try Me.”

The actress a week ago stirred up social media with shocks of revelations in her book that triggered conversations.

She revealed that, in 2010 she had an abortion after being impregnated by rapper Sarkodie because the rapper refused to father a child.

Addressing these claims Sarkodie in a fiery song titled ‘Try Me’, described actress Yvonne Nelson as being promiscuous during their short ‘lovie dovie’

The rapper vehemently denied being the one who pushed for the abortion and asserts that she had multiple partners.

According to him although he was not ready for a baby, he suggested Yvonne keep the pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Yvonne has in a tweet a few hours after the dropped song clapped back at the rapper’s response, calling him a liar.

  • “Take the blame” – Sarkodie fires back at Yvonne Nelson

“Take the blame” – Sarkodie fires back at Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, attacked Yvonne Nelson with venom, telling her to take responsibility for having an abortion in her most recent book, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.”

The publication of Yvonne Nelson’s memoir sparked debate on social media, with users criticising Sarkodie for forcing Yvonne Nelson to have an abortion during a previous relationship.

But Sarkodie has responded to the allegations of Yvonne Nelson by dropping a new song, “Try Me”.

Sarkodie, in the song, lauded Yvonne Nelson for her bravery in releasing the book but stated that she was selective in some of the things she said.

“I never thought I was gonna be on this wave because I was ready to take a couple of things to my grave. I clap for you because you are brave, but you can’t pick and choose what to stay, please behave..,” excerpts of the lyrics said.

Sarkodie didn’t deny having a relationship, but he alleged in the song that Yvonne Nelson had multiple relationships with many guys.

According to Sarkodie, the idea of aborting a baby came from Yvonne Nelson, despite telling her to keep it.

” …Take the blame cos nobody is the cause for your bad choice in life, and stop the personal attacks,” he advised.

Sarkodie added that he wasn’t surprised the book was doing well because we lived in a world where negativity sells, and he had even grabbed a copy himself.

The part where you said I pushed you to abort is what drives me mad – Sarkodie

Sarkodie has made it clear that the only aspect of the whole ordeal with Yvonne Nelson that really aggravates him is her claim that he coerced her into having an abortion of their child.

The rapper said, in parts of his “Try Me” response song to Yvonne Nelson,

“Don’t you make it seem I was the one pushing you for abortion cos that be the only part wey make I Dey vex.”

He said the actress should entirely be blamed for what he termed as her bad decisions.

“Nobody should take the blame for the bad decisions you made. Kudos! Your strategy worked.”

    Sarkodie’s reply

Sarkodie released a track titled ‘Try Me’, which is his intended response to Yvonne Nelson’s claims.

One can recall that after narrating how the rapper impregnated her and denied responsibility, Yvonne Nelson, in her memoir also detailed how he drove her to a health facility where she bled profusely in his absence.

In a chapter titled ‘Abortion’, in her book, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ the actress disclosed how Sarkodie accompanied her to the Mamprobi polyclinic for abortion and since never bothered to find out how the procedure went.

Yvonne Nelson blocks ‘Medikal’ on Twitter

A Twitter user by name Medikal @AmgMedikall has shared a tweet which indicates that he has been blocked on Twitter by Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson who has recently been in the headlines over her controversial book “I am not Yvonne Nelson.”

Although the user is uncertain what could have triggered the action by the actress, a section of the public is speculating that the decision was influenced by some comments made by the user after Sarkodie released a song to address the claim by the actress in her memoir that he got her pregnant and rejected the child.

Sarkodie’s song addressing the abortion brouhaha

The said user who appeared to be making fun of the situation reacted to the song with some tweets which seem to have infuriated the actress, including the following comments: “Sarkodie has just narrated Yvonne’s book with just less than 2 minutes lines. LANDLORD – )si Try Me.” Another said: “Is not that the book is good but we are living in a world where negativity sells!” -Sarkodie”

Hours after the numerous reactions by the said user, Yvonne Nelson, who obviously isn’t happy about how he is handling the matter, blocked him.

Musician, Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie has in a newly released track told his side of his involvement in the life of actress Yvonne Nelson, and the pair’s controversial abortion ‘beef’.

Yvonne Nelson in her recently published tell-it-all book, ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’, revealed that she had had an affair with the rapper in 2010 which had resulted in a pregnancy.

In Chapter 8 of the book, she recounts her decision to terminate the pregnancy because the rapper did not accept responsibility.

According to her, she later found out that the rapper had another girlfriend who was studying in a university abroad hence his rejection.

However, replying to Yvonne Nelson’s allegation, Sarkodie in his new release ‘Try Me’, a direct reply to Yvonne, says he never encouraged the actress to have an abortion.

According to him, while he was not ready to be a father, he had told her to keep the pregnancy but Yvonne chose to go ahead with the abortion due to her schooling at the time.

“So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,” he said in Try Me.

  • You can’t use rap to rubbish how I felt – Yvonne Nelson to Sarkodie

You can’t use rap to rubbish how I felt – Yvonne Nelson to Sarkodie

Shortly after Sarkodie shared his version of events regarding his past pregnancy with Yvonne Nelson through an audio track on his YouTube page, the actress and author responded to his statements on Twitter.

“Insults won’t work Michael. Respect womanhood, Im happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this. You would get applause for a rap. still doesn’t change the TRUTH,” one of her tweets read.

She accused him of attempting to use rap to rubbish the pain she felt as a young woman.

“In my book, i narrated how you got me pregnant, How you couldn’t wait for me to get rid of it. How you DROVE me to have an abortion. As usual, you want to use rap to rubbish a pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, lets see what life throws at them. #triedyou” she added.

Sarkodie trended for the better part of last week when he was mentioned in a past relationship with actress Yvonne Nelson in the latter’s memoir titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson.’

Yvonne detailed her version of how Sarkodie impregnated her but asked her to abort the child because at the time he was young and not ready to become a father.

She also spoke about being driven to the clinic where the procedure was undertaken but abandoned to deal with the associated pain all alone by Sarkodie.

A little over a week on, the rapper has posted a track titled ‘Try Me’ on his official YouTube page telling his side of the story.

“The track has a mixture of English and Twi rebuffing Yvonne’s narrative about the pregnancy and what ensued after she disclosed it to him. If you don’t love me, leave me. Why are you pestering me?

“What is meant for me you have gone to give to Kwame. I have become teary. If you don’t love me, leave me let me be. Someone else is longing to be with me, when you were leaving me you failed to notify me. Baby girl don’t try me,” the chorus goes.

Renowned Ghanaian musician Sarkodie has expressed his sincere prayers and well-wishes to fellow industry peer, Yvonne Nelson, for her healing and recovery over the various traumatic events captured in her memoir as part of the painful part of her life.

Parts of Sarkodie’s lyrical response to Yvonne Nelson’s allegations capture the former praying for the latter.

Some lines in the rapper’s “Try Me” song expressed, that above everything, he prays Yvonne Nelson gets the healing that she needs.

According to Sarkodie, all the actress sought to achieve was to make money, adding that her ‘so-called’ expose never brought back happiness to her life.

“You know what? Shawty just chasing the bag. Cos after all these, does it bring happiness back? I pray you get the healing that you need,” he expressed in the song.

Sarkodie also charged the actress to quit attacking him for what he described as the “bad choices” she has made.

“Take the blame and stop the personal attacks. Nobody should be blamed for your bad choices,” he added.

Sarkodie’s response that stirred reactions online

However, telling his side of the story in the single, ‘Try Me’, Sarkodie detailed that it was Yvonne’s sole decision to abort the pregnancy.

Although the rapper admitted that they had a relationship, he said Yvonne was only playing victim and taking advantage of the fact that the world listens to women more than men.

    Yvonne Nelson’s rants

After dissecting the contents of Sarkodie’s reply to her earlier allegations, Yvonne Nelson has stormed Twitter with a series of rants targeted at the former.

She has since been tackling the lyrics and responding to the parts that hurts her the most.

  • Yvonne seems to have contradicted herself in an attempt to respond to sarkodie’s ‘diss’ song

Yvonne seems to have contradicted herself in an attempt to respond to sarkodie’s ‘diss’ song

Actress and movie producer, Yvonne Nelson, seems to have contradicted herself in her efforts to counter Sarkodie’s narrative regarding the abortion she had in 2010, which the rapper referenced in a song released on June 28, 2023.

In her book titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ Yvonne had accused Sarkodie of impregnating her in 2010, refusing to take responsibility, and seemingly insisting on her having an abortion.

However, in Sarkodie’s response captured in the track ‘Try Me,’ he denied asking Yvonne Nelson to terminate the pregnancy, stating that it was solely her decision.

He claimed that he had advised her to keep the baby, but she prioritized her education over the child.

These differing accounts present a contradiction in Yvonne Nelson’s statements concerning the circumstances surrounding the abortion.

Yvonne has since the release of the song been tweeting, expressing her disgust with the posture and lyrics of Sarkodie as she said the rapper is rubbishing her pain.

One of Yvonne’s tweets, however, appears to contradict what she said on page 85 of her book, per observation.

The actress said in her tweet that it was untrue she was in school at the time; hence, Sarkodie’s claim that she told him she wanted to focus on her education was false.

Yvonne’s tweet read: “Michael, you claim I was desperate to abort because I needed to complete school. In 2010 when I became pregnant, I had completed the university. Anybody can verify this. I wasn’t in school and you know it. If you want to lie, find a logical lie.”

However, in Chapter 7 of Yvonne Nelson’s book which talks about her ban by movie producers, the actress mentioned on page 85 that when she was banned, she was in her final year at the university. She mentioned that the ban, coupled with the pregnancy made the circumstance tough.

“I must admit it was a tough year. I was in my final year at the university. I was banned from acting. I was pregnant and definitely was not prepared to host another human being,” the first three sentences on page 85 read.

Sarkodie’s insult-laden track incurs netizens wrath

Netizens have descended on Sarkodie after his release of his ‘diss’ track in response to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir “I am not Yvonne Nelson”.

In the late hours of Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie released a song titled ‘Try Me’.

The song’s lyrics make it clear that it’s are a response to Yvonne Nelson’s claim that Sarkodie forced her to abort a child in 2010—a claim she made in her memoir, “I Am not Yvonne Nelson.”

A week ago, Sarkodie trended on social media due to information contained in the actress’ book about him, including their relationship and how she became pregnant for him and then asked him to abort the child.

A number of Ghanaians were unhappy to hear such news about the rapper because he was perceived to be a ‘gentleman’ thus all and sundry were shocked to know Sarkodie was capable of committing such an act.

In reacting to these allegations, Sarkodie in his ‘Try Me’ song went hard on Yvonne Nelson making some shocking revelations Yvonne Nelson failed to include in her memoir.

Sarkodie detailed that it was Yvonne’s sole decision to abort the pregnancy.

Although the rapper admitted that they had a relationship, he said Yvonne was only playing the victim and taking advantage of the fact that the world listens to women more than men.

After dissecting the contents of Sarkodie’s reply to her earlier allegations, netizens stormed Twitter with a series of rants targeted at Sarkodie

Below are some reactions from netizens

  • Oliver Barker-Vormawor wades into Yvonne Nelson – Sarkodie abortion brouhaha

Oliver Barker-Vormawor wades into Yvonne Nelson – Sarkodie abortion brouhaha

Convener of #FixTheCountry movement, Mawuse Oliver Barker-Vormawor has waded into the Yvonne Nelson – Sarkodie abortion brouhaha.

He vehemently criticized Sarkodie following the rapper’s release of ‘Try Me’, a song in response to Yvonne Nelson’s claim that the musician could not wait for her to get rid of their pregnancy in 2010 as he drove her to have an abortion.

Yvonne Nelson in her book, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ said Sarkodie did not welcome news of her pregnancy at the time, and considering that she had grown up without a father, she was not ready to let her child have such an experience, hence the decision to terminate the pregnancy.

Sarkodie, in response, released a song punctuated with vulgar words as he told his side of the story, stressing that the actress rather wanted to abort the baby despite his call on her to keep the pregnancy.

Taking to social media to react to the lyrics, Barker-Vormawor expressed discontentment, describing Sarkodie’s ‘Try Me’ as distasteful.

“I have heard immature rap songs! But Sarkodie’s Try Me, as a response to Yvonne Nelson’s book is the tackiest thing I’ve heard. Plain refusal to grow up! We all make mistakes. Own yours,” Barker-Vormawor berated the rapper in a tweet.

Yvonne released her book on Father’s Day and has since generated controversy. Some anticipated a response from Sarkodie while others thought the rapper would not reply but would be focused on his tour.

However, Sarkodie on June 28, 2023, released a song, responding to Yvonne Nelson.

Among others, Sarkodie indicated that Yvonne Nelson had multiple partners hence if she decided to tell the story of how their encounter in 2010 unfolded, she should have told the honest truth.

“You can’t just play victim and paint a picture that she was just looking for love” from all her previous amorous relationships, part of the lyrics went.

“I’m not gonna sit here and lie, we had a thing. First, I thought you were cool till I had a hint,” he sang in English before stating in Twi that he thought he had gotten a good girl only to realise there were others in the queue after him.

The chorus to the song is translated thus: “If you don’t love me, leave me. Why are you pestering me? What is meant for me you have gone to give to Kwame. I have become teary.

“If you don’t love me, leave me let me be. Someone else is longing to be with me, when you were leaving me, you failed to notify me. Baby girl don’t try me.”

On Yvonne’s claim that Sarkodie could not wait for her to get rid of the pregnancy, the rapper said he did not ask Yvonne Nelson to abort the baby, it was her sole decision. According to him, he asked her to keep the baby but she chose her education above the baby.

Also, he asked his doctor to examine her but Yvonne refused the offer and opted for an abortion doctor prescribed by her friend.

He added that Yvonne recently tried to get them to talk about the episode but he turned down her terms.

  • ‘We both have daughters, let’s see what life throws at them’ – Yvonne Nelson to Sarkodie

‘We both have daughters, let’s see what life throws at them’ – Yvonne Nelson to Sarkodie

Yvonne Nelson swiftly responded to Sarkodie’s song, which presented his perspective on the claim made by the actress. The claim involved Sarkodie allegedly impregnating Yvonne Nelson in 2010 but refusing to take responsibility, leading to a decision to terminate the pregnancy.

The rapper had in the song told Yvonne Nelson to not ‘try’ him but the unfazed author cum actress in her rebuttal ended with a hashtag #triedyou as she cautioned Sarkodie.

With both showbiz personalities having daughters with different partners, Yvonne emitted that they would eventually face their own challenges and experiences in life.

“In my book, I narrated how you got me pregnant, how you couldn’t wait for me to get rid of it. How you DROVE me to have an abortion. As usual, you want to use rap to rubbish a pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, let’s see what life throws at them. #triedyou,” her tweet on June 28, 2023.

Before this, she had made a first tweet suggesting to Sarkodie to show respect towards women. Yvonne indicated that it was unfortunate for Sarkodie to have rubbished her pain in a song that is punctuated with insults.

“Insults won’t work Michael. Respect womanhood, I’m happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this. You would get the applause for a rap. Still doesn’t change the TRUTH,” her tweet barely hours after Sarkodie released the ‘Try Me’ song read.

Sarkodie replies Yvonne Nelson with ‘Try Me’ track

Rapper Sarkodie garnered significant attention last week due to his mention in actress Yvonne Nelson’s memoir titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,‘ regarding their past relationship.

I told Yvonne to keep the pregnancy but she aborted it – Sarkodie

Sarkodie, has refuted allegations of pressuring actress Yvonne Nelson into undergoing an abortion back in 2010.

Stating his side of the story in a new song, Try Me, which has since gone viral since it was released Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the Country Side hitmaker disclosed that even though he wasn’t prepared at the time, he wanted her to keep the baby but Yvonne refused on grounds of being in school.

With his emotions highly visible on the song, Sarkodie talked about how he was deeply in love with Yvonne Nelson but turned out he was probably just one of the many guys in her life at the time on the 3:16 minutes song.

He mentioned that he didn’t want to disclose that side of his life till death but has been forced to come out since Yvonne Nelson told a story which favours her.

“I’m not going to lie, we had a thing. First, I thought we had a think until I had the hint that there were many guys. I tried to stay away but then you came that you were pregnant. But then I wasn’t ready but I told you to keep it.

“You told be you were schooling so you needed to complete it but till today, I don’t believe it. I told you to let my doctor take care of you and you sent a text later that your friend has recommended a one of the best doctors…

“So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion. Baby girl make you no try me”, he raps on Ty Me.

But it seems the Princess Tyra actress is not having any of this as she tweeted this morning, June 28.

“Insults won’t work Michael, Respect womanhood. I’m happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this. You would get the applause for a rap. still doesn’t change the truth,” she posted.

Award-winning actress, Yvonne Nelson revealed in a book that she aborted a pregnancy for Sarkodie in 2010 after a short relationship.

According to her, she took the decision following Sarkodie’s decision not to take responsibility of the child since he was young and not financially sound at the time.

Narrating the incident on pages 88-95 of Chapter eight of her memoir, Yvonne said Sarkodie and his manager at the time accompanied her to a clinic at Mamprobi to get the foetus removed. That was after a failed attempt with pills recommended by a friend.

  • Sarkodie isn’t fit to be anyone’s role model – Sally Mann

Sarkodie isn’t fit to be anyone’s role model – Sally Mann

Sally Mann, a vocal advocate, is calling for Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie to face consequences for what she perceives as mistreatment towards Yvonne Nelson in the past. Mann is specifically urging for the termination of all Sarkodie’s endorsement deals as a form of punishment. It’s worth noting that discussions regarding endorsements and consequences are subjective and vary based on individual perspectives and opinions.

The controversial entertainment pundit said, for Sarkodie to have abandoned Yvonne Nelson at the hospital to bleed and not offering her the needed support while aborting their baby was a detestable action, adding that the rapper should be taught an unforgettable lesson.

According to Sally, all brands associated with Sarkodie must withdraw their deals if the rapper isn’t willing to offer an apology to Yvonne Nelson and women in general.

She added that the rapper isn’t fit to be a role model.

“You left someone’s daughter at the hospital to go through an abortion procedure in your name? What was he thinking? I am advocating that all endorsement deals Sarkodie have should be stripped off and the reason I am doing that is because he left Yvonne Nelson to her fate on that very day at the hospital. Yvonne was bleeding when they got to the hospital for the abortion and he left her. This alone means he is not fit to be an idol for anybody.

“What if Yvonne Nelson died? Morally he is not fit to be a role model to anyone. Someone will say nobody put a gun to Yvonne’s head. But sometimes when a woman gets pregnant and her parents reject it and her man accepts it, it gives her that hope that he will take care of her. Sarkodie is not fit to be called a celebrity. He should apologize to Yvonne Nelson. He should apologize for abandoning her at the hospital,” she fumed in a discussion on PowerFM.

Sally, however, cited an example of international stars who have once been stripped of their endorsement deals due to some controversies they were involved in.

“When Chris Brown beat Rihanna, he was stripped of all his endorsement deals. Tiger Woods went through same. T.I, was stripped off his endorsement deals for drug possession,” she stated.

    Background

Earlier after narrating how Sarkodie impregnated her and denied responsibility, Yvonne Nelson, in her memoir also detailed how he drove her to a health facility where she bled profusely in his absence.

In a chapter titled ‘Abortion’, in her book, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ the actress disclosed how Sarkodie accompanied her to the Mamprobi polyclinic for abortion and since never bothered to find out how the procedure went.

Yvonne narrated the pain and horrifying encounter during the procedure when she underwent the abortion.

“Keeping the pregnancy was not an option. Undertaking another self-medication was also not an option. I agreed with Sarkodie that, this time, we had to do it in a hospital or health facility. Again, that friend of mine had a recommendation. It was a facility in Mamprobi, and on the appointed day, Sarkodie drove me there with his manager and they left.

“I hoped and prayed that I will be lucky with this second attempt. The pain, again was intense and I bled profusely. I felt worse because Sarkodie left me to my fate. He did not call or check up on me to find out how the procedure had gone,” parts of the chapter read.

  • Sarkodie 9 years ago Delay Show: “I love babies”, “I never dated anyone in the industry”

Sarkodie 9 years ago Delay Show: “I love babies”, “I never dated anyone in the industry”

I have never had anything to do with anyone on TV or in the entertainment industry, award-winning Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie says.

This statement was made by Sarkodie when he took his turn on the Delay show some 9 years ago.

When pressed by Delay why he was too emotional with the response, the rapper who appeared quite uncomfortable defensively explained that he wishes that aspect of his life remains private.

According to the rapper, he loves children and plan of having one soon but he never dated anyone in the same industry.

These remarks totally contradicts what actor Yvonne Nelson have revealed in her explosive autobiography.

Among the revelations in her book ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ is her decision to terminate a pregnancy because the man who put her in that situation refused to accept responsibility on the basis that he had another girlfriend.

The man in question, according to Yvonne Nelson, was a rapper based in Tema and this incident was in 2010. In her narrative, she mentioned that the said rapper was Sarkodie, the Ghanaian musician who is now an icon and a multiple award winner.

“I had gone for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the most obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who misses her monthly flow. I was in the company of Karen. And when the test result was ready, I wasn’t strong enough to open it. She did and declared the verdict.

“Charlie, it dey there!” she exclaimed.

His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian musician who is better known as Sarkodie.

Sarkodie was a budding musician with the potential to become one of the biggest artists in Ghana and beyond. At the time, however, the future looked uncertain, and his way through the maze of life still appeared too foggy to predict. Success was not guaranteed. He was still living with his mother and was not ready to carry a burden while he was being carried by his mother.

“I wouldn’t call what had developed between us a serious relationship. I gravitated toward people in the music industry. For the longest time in my life, music was my getaway from all the unpleasant things life threw at me. So, I liked his talent. We started talking and got close. Closer,” parts of the book read.

I’m pained you exposed your mom, she did her best – Bullgod to Yvonne Nelson

Artiste manager, Bullgod believes that mothers make significant sacrifices from conception through childbirth and throughout the years of raising their children.

He believes that despite whatever unanswered remains between a mother and her child, it is not prudent for a child to expose her mother as actress and movie producer Yvonne Nelson did in her memoir ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson.’

Contributing to the discussions on UTV’s United Showbiz programme June 24, 2023, Bullgod submitted: “Her mom did very well with her by the small reading that I have done, it is just that Yvonne herself is inquisitive and wants to find out a lot of things.

“Her mom did her best, (and) what pains me is how she exposed her mom because I know what women go through to take care of their kids, it is a difficult job. So, if she has catered for you from childbirth till now… Yvonne you be my girl but no matter the pain, your mom has been through hell.”

His view aligns with that of Afia Schwarzenegger and Kwame A Plus, who had very stern critique of Yvonne Nelson’s book especially the parts that relate to what she wrote about her mother’s role in her yet-to-be resolved search for her real father.

The launch was graced by many industry stalwarts, businessmen, and politicians, including John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, and Becca. ‘I do not hate Yvonne’ – Victoria Lebene after trashing her memoir

Since the recent release of Yvonne Nelson‘s autobiography titled ‘I am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ actress and entrepreneur Victoria Lebene has engaged in a series of criticisms directed at Yvonne Nelson.

Victoria openly chastised Yvonne for certain chapters in the book that delves into her previous relationships and sexual experiences, deeming it sensitive information that should not have been made public.

Lebene’s remarks have fueled speculation that she harboured a long-held grudge against Yvonne and was using the book’s contents to launch personal attacks.

However, in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Lebene clarified that she holds no animosity towards Nelson but believes that her colleague should have exercised more caution when discussing such delicate subjects in her book.

The mother of two argued that it was highly inappropriate and insensitive for Yvonne to disclose such intimate details to the public, particularly considering the potential damage it could inflict on the reputation of those involved and the negative impact it could have on their families.

Lebene stated, “I do not hate Yvonne, not at all. I just feel she went overboard with some of the intimate details she shared. I am not saying Yvonne shouldn’t express her feelings, but she should have been more sensitive in her approach.”

She further expressed that it would have been more appropriate for Yvonne to tone down certain admissions made in the book without divulging explicit details.

Victoria emphasized the importance of considering the healing process for all parties involved, as what may be cathartic for one person could potentially cause pain and require healing for others.

Referring to one of the individuals mentioned in the book, Sarkodie, she highlighted the significance of considering a person’s reputation, particularly in the case of a married man with children.

She acknowledged that not everyone possesses the emotional strength to handle such revelations, further emphasizing the potential consequences on spouses and children.

Lebene clarified her stance by stating, “I don’t believe in the past. I only believe that whatever happened then should be able to make me strong and put me on the right path to becoming a better version of myself. If I were to write a book, it would be one that empowers and advises people.

“I don’t think I would want to give a memoir detailing my sexual experiences or the number of times I have had an abortion. It simply doesn’t make sense. However, this doesn’t mean I hate Yvonne; it’s just my opinion. It’s okay if it’s a strategy to sell the book, but we should always consider the sensitivity of our words and actions.”

Bullgod expresses concern about alleged abortion in Yvonne Nelson’s book

Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bullgod, the artist’s manager, has enquired as to whether Yvonne Nelson told Sarkodie about the memoir prior to its release.

In a myjoyonline.com report, Bullgod stressed the potential negative impact of revealing certain truths that could harm someone’s happiness, especially when it involves prominent individuals in the entertainment industry.

“As human beings, we go through various experiences. If I were to write a book today, there would be many parts that would pique people’s interest. However, would that truly be a fair depiction of my entire existence?

“I can’t claim that what Yvonne went through was easy, but I hope that in the case of Sarkodie, he received a heads-up before the details were made public,” Bulldog said.

While acknowledging that the issue primarily concerns Sarkodie and his wife, Bullgod recognized that Sarkodie has become a national treasure and that he is facing such backlash due to his reputation and other factors that might go against him.

He emphasized the importance of considering the potential consequences of sharing personal truths, as they can have a significant impact on others.

Bullgod expressed his desire for Sarkodie to have been informed beforehand, and if he wasn’t, he found it regrettable.

Reflecting on the incident, he acknowledged that 13 years have passed, but the memory remains deeply ingrained in Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie’s minds.

Bullgod concluded by emphasizing the need to exercise discretion when sharing personal experiences, recognizing that “each day of our lives contributes to the narrative we create.”

“As we live every day, we are writing a book. Some of these things we have to hold back a little,” he concluded, highlighting the importance of exercising caution and sensitivity when sharing personal experiences.

  • Afia Schwarzenegger lashes out at Yvonne Nelson over claims about her mother in ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’

Afia Schwarzenegger lashes out at Yvonne Nelson over claims about her mother in ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’

Afia Schwarzenegger has described as disgusting and childish Yvonne Nelson’s act of publishing a book that seeks to disrespect her mother.

She has joined the section of celebrities who have condemned the actress for sharing what has been described as a series of unnecessary private information.

The actress has been trending all week following some revelations in her book which details her sexual escapades with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, and her confusion about the real identity of her father among others.

Considering the fact that to date, Yvonne doesn’t know her real father, the actress’ mother’s chastity has been questioned, with netizens wondering if she slept around with men to have sparked these consequences.

In that regard, Yvonne’s mother has had to also encounter the heat from netizens all over social media.

However, Afia Schwarzenegger, after analyzing the events, thinks it is totally unfair for Yvonne to project her mother in such a bad light.

According to her, Yvonne has ‘fed her mother to the dogs’ and that, there is no justification whatsoever to have treated the woman who birthed her in such a manner.

She said issues of this sort are best solved at home, away from the public.

“Writing a book to wash your dirty linen in public is NOT boldness but childishness at the highest degree (done that and outgrown it) Who in his or her right thinking mind will write a book to disrespect her mother….If I don’t know the real father of my children, if any of my children have to do a DNA to ascertain their paternity, then I the promiscuous mother should be ashamed of myself literally an Ashawo is even better. Couldn’t you have done that in private, with your family, or probably a pastor/ counsellor??” she wrote on Instagram.

She added, Yvonne should brace herself for some future actions posterity will take against her, adding that, this particular act of hers will prompt dire consequences someday.

“And we have grown IDIOTS who will gather at the comment section to defend this shameful act…those applauding you today will remind your daughter who her grandmother is. Beware of the things you do when you have a daughter.. I pray for you for strength the day your daughter will question you about your book. After publicly scolding a man who ended up NOT being your real dad, calling a family member out shouldn’t be your option. Would you have done the same if your Dad was Atta Ayi in Prison and NOT the former speaker??? Just asking. Children Obey thy parents is a commandment from God…So respect your mother no matter the situation cos you yourself have had your fair share of bad relationships…” she added.

  • 4 big names in politics Yvonne Nelson mentioned in her book

4 big names in politics Yvonne Nelson mentioned in her book

Revelations in a memoir written by actress and film producer; Yvonne Nelson, rocked the entertainment industry in Ghana and even Africa following its release on Sunday, June 19, 2023.

Gurus in the industries including award-winning Ghanaian musician Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, and Nigerian musician Iyana, had experiences they had with the actress shared with the public.

Aside from persons in the entertainment industry, politicians in Ghana, including a former Speaker of Parliament, Peter Ala Adjetey, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other past presidents of Ghana also featured heavily in Yvonne Nelson’s biography, which is titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’.

Here is what Yvonne Nelson said about some notable politicians in her book:

    Peter Ala Adjetey:

The actress in her book, disclosed that at some point in her life, she was made to believe that Peter Ala Adjetey, a Speaker of Parliament of Ghana from 2001 to 2004, was her biological father and not the man whose name she bares; Mr Nelson.

The film-maker, after being told that Peter Ala Adjetey might be her father, went on a mission to get to know more about the man.

“Even without Googling, I knew Peter Ala Adjetey was tall, but that’s where our similarities ended. President John Agyekum Kufuor had a hand in the nomination of Peter Ala Adjetey as the second Speaker of Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. He was subsequently voted by members of parliament and sworn into office,” she wrote.

Unfortunately, things did not end well, as Yvonne who conducted a DNA test to finalise her conviction, was met with another shock that the former Speaker of Parliament isn’t her father either.

    Former President John Agyekum Kufuor

Yvonne Nelson disclosed in her book that the second president of the 4th Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor was her confidant during the period she was trying to find out who her biological father was.

According to the actress, there were a lot of questions begging for answers, and she saw Mr. Kufuor as the right man to clear her thoughts.

Because the late Mr. Ala Adjetey was one of the persons former President Kufuor had closely worked with, Yvonne saw it as a good opportunity to dig more into his personality, as the physical features she had seen in pictures weren’t enough clues.

“Prior to that, Peter Ala Adjetey had served as the national chairman of the NPP from 1995 to 1998 and worked with Mr. Kufuor in that capacity, so the two knew each other well. Before the Fourth Republic, both men had been politicians in the 1980s, so I was speaking to the right man.

“It was when I spoke to former President John Agyekum Kufuor that he pointed out other invisible features that linked me to the politician he had worked closely with,” she wrote.

She then said that the former president advised her not to be consumed by her past and the things she has no control over, but rather focus on building on whatever gains she had made.

Yvonne added that Mr. Kufuor was elated that she had turned out great in spite of her father’s absence in her life.

“He said I should focus on building on whatever gains I had made and not brood over things I had no control over. He opened his doors to me and assured me of a listening ear if I ever needed any. I left feeling somewhat happy or relieved, but it was temporary,” she stated.

    Former President John Dramani Mahama:

Nelson also disclosed in her book that she received calls from ex-President John Mahama’s office, expressing his desire to meet her over a planned demonstration on the erratic power supply that was seen in the Mahama era, which became popularly known as dumsor.

However, she declined the invitation, insisting that her fellow protest organisers be present during the meeting. Despite pressure from the presidency for a one-on-one meeting, Nelson stood her ground, maintaining that a meeting without her colleagues would not take place.

“I also received calls from the office of President John Dramani Mahama. The callers said the president wanted to meet me, but I told them I would only meet with the president on condition that my fellow organisers of the protest would be part of that meeting. The officials at the presidency insisted that the president wanted to meet me alone. I stood my ground, stating that if the president was not prepared to meet me with my colleagues, then the meeting was not going to happen,” she said in her book.

Reflecting on the political landscape, Nelson acknowledged that the magnitude of the problem naturally offered political advantages to opposition parties.

    President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Aside from Sarkodie, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was arguably the person who felt the heat most, from the release of; “I am not Yvonne Nelson’.

Yvonne Nelson expressed her disappointment over a picture she took with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his election victory in 2016.

The memoir reveals that Yvonne Nelson and her friends visited the then president-elect Akufo-Addo to extend their congratulations shortly after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its candidate emerged victorious in the 2016 elections.

According to her, the opposition won the election because, at that time, the nation was grappling with a severe power crisis, known as “dumsor,” which had resulted in significant job losses and adversely impacted small-scale enterprises heavily reliant on electricity.

    She spoke about her involvement in the 2015 #DumsorMustStop protest before adding;

“A year later, the opposition NPP and its candidate won the 2016 election. The power crisis and its effects were a major sin of the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC). Dumsor had resulted in job losses and dealt a deadly blow to the small-scale enterprises that depended on electricity but could not afford alternative sources of power. Even though the NDC administration resolved the crises at a huge cost and through shady procurement deals, the victims of dumsor, corruption, and mismanagement could not forgive the party at the presidential and parliamentary polls.

“The NPP, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, won massively in both the presidential and parliamentary elections. Some friends and I went to congratulate the president-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, with whom we took a photograph. It is a photograph I regret taking.”

She added that Nana Akufo-Addo, who was presented as an incorruptible leader and the antidote to corruption in the public sector and political space, has fallen short of expectations.

“He was said to be incorruptible, and Ghanaians thought he was going to be the antidote to mass stealing at the highest level, which is euphemized as corruption. Unfortunately for Ghana and those who trusted in him, he has turned out to be a monumental disappointment whose government’s unbridled borrowing, corruption, and reckless spending plunged the nation into economic dumsor,” she wrote in her book dubbed; “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.”

In her book, Yvonne Nelson, among other disclosures, revealed that she was contacted by a person close to the president to become the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the Ayawso West Wuogon Constituency in the 2020 general elections, which she declined.

Sarkodie’s ‘encounter’ with Yvonne Nelson resurfaces after abortion claim

In the interview, the host asked Sarkodie, “Who do you prefer, Lydia Forson or Yvonne Nelson?” to which he answered, “I don’t personally know Lydia Forson, but I’ve had an encounter with Yvonne.”

The host seemed shocked and asked, “Really and truly, you chose Yvonne?” Sarkodie quickly explained, saying, “Because I know her, don’t twist it.”

The video has gained new attention after Yvonne Nelson‘s memoir ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’ was launched on June 18, 2023. In the book, the actress disclosed that she became pregnant by Sarkodie when they had an affair in 2010, but he refused to take responsibility for the child. She said she decided to abort the pregnancy because she did not want to have a fatherless child.

In an excerpt from the book, she wrote: “I went for a pregnancy test with Karen, fully aware of what it meant for a sexually active woman like me to miss her monthly flow. When the test result was ready, I lacked the strength to open it. Karen did and revealed the verdict.

“Under normal circumstances, I would have laughed it off, sparking lively conversations and jokes. But this was different. It was a grave piece of information that could turn my world upside down. I wasn’t solely responsible for the situation, so I reached out to the man whose seed had impregnated me. His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a well-known Ghanaian musician better known as Sarkodie.”

These revelations have stirred up discussions about Sarkodie’s past and his relationship with Yvonne Nelson and Lydia Forson.
