Four people murdered after clashes in West Bank – Palestinian officials

There are reports reaching us that fighting in the occupied West Bank, apart from what is happening in Gaza. Palestinian health officials reported this morning that at least four people lost their lives during fights with Israeli troops in Jenin.

According to the news agency Wafa from Palestine,

A group of soldiers and construction vehicles attacked Jenin and damaged the outside of the Ibn Sina Hospital. According to Wafa, missiles were shot into a house and the Jenin refugee camp.

In their latest report today, an Israeli military spokesperson named Daniel Hagari said they conducted an air attack in the city of Jenin. He mentioned, “We aimed at and removed a number of armed terrorists. ”

The Israeli military often raided the West Bank before this war. However, it doesn’t often use air attacks in that place, unlike in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas.

The West Bank and the Gaza Strip are two different areas. The Gaza Strip is controlled by Hamas. The Palestinian Authority rules over some areas in the West Bank that Israel doesn’t completely control.

‘I’ve probably spoken with the Foreign Office a hundred times’

Mo El-Deeb’s mom and dad, Talal and Naila, are unable to leave Gaza after they went there from their house in London to see their family members.

He finally talked to his dad on the weekend after not being able to reach him for a few days and thinking something bad had happened.

Talal said that the past few days were very loud and scary, like when the bombing started. He doesn’t think the situation will get better soon.

Mo says to me that he does not have any power or control over something. “I have completed all tasks that were within my capability. ” I have talked to the Foreign Office around 100 times.

“My mom and dad went to the border three times because they were told to. Two times they went, it got bombed. The third time they were there for five hours and nothing bad happened. ”

“There is no way to stop or escape from this bad dream,” he says.

We asked the Foreign Office for a statement. They said: “We have been staying in touch with British people in Gaza and will keep them informed about the current situation at the Rafah crossing. “

Over 55,000 displaced persons are at the hospital – Al Shifa doctor

We have been telling you about a lot of explosions near the Al-Quds hospital in Gaza City. The Israeli military told people to leave on Sunday, but doctors say it’s impossible to move all the sick people being taken care of there.

There is worry about patients and staff at another hospital in Gaza City called Al Shifa. The head surgeon there has said the situation is very bad.

According to Dr. Marwan Abusada’s voice note to the BBC, there are currently 55,000 displaced people in Al Shifa hospital. The hospital is very crowded.

Abusada said the hospital was very busy and patients were filling up the hallways as more came. Around 100 patients were taken to different hospitals during the weekend, according to him. But we continue to get a lot of cases. Every 30 minutes, a lot of people who are hurt come to us.

He said that it is very challenging because there is not enough of things like anaesthetics, painkillers, and antibiotics. “We are unable to do any additional tasks. ”

Israel’s military says that Hamas’s main base is located underneath Al Shifa. Hamas disagrees with that statement and some of the doctors who work there have requested for the hospital to be kept safe.

On Sunday, it was reported by people living in Gaza City that Israeli warplanes hit near the hospital during the night. People in Gaza told the BBC reporter that roads nearby were hit on Saturday.

In an interview with OBI TV, Okomfo Black dismissed the idea that he was created by God.

He explained that his mother is solely responsible for his existence, emphasizing that she takes care of all his needs. According to Okomfo Black, he has never witnessed God providing money for his mother to support him, so he sees no reason to express gratitude to God.

  • Read OSP’s ‘down dumb’ analogy that tags Charles Adu Boahen a “Thief”

Read OSP’s ‘down dumb’ analogy that tags Charles Adu Boahen a “Thief”

Office of the Special Prosecutor(OSP) has rounded up its investigation into alleged corrupt acts by former Minister of State in charge of finance of the office of the President, Charles Adu Boahen.

In 14-page document, the OSP provided context to make its case including imploring an interesting analogy to drum home its stance on the broader subject of sting operations or investigative journalism in Ghana.

It will be recalled that on November 14 2022, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo requested the OSP to investigate allegations of corruption and corruption- related offences involving Mr. Adu Boahen contained in an investigative documentary titled Galamsey Economy published by a celebrated Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

But opponents of Anas’ sting operations argued that the exposé amounts to entrapment adding that, the undercover investigative journalistic sting operations is investigative terrorism. In their estimation, this type of evidence collection amounts to harassment of the person caught in the act on camera.

The OSP sharply disagrees with these arguments.

Here’s how the OSP chooses to simplify the issue in analogy.

Let us name our first person of interest Kofi Mensah. Let us say that Kofi Mensah has no criminal record. Let us assume that Kofi Mensah is not criminally minded and he has no intention of committing a crime. Let us place Kofi Mensah at a quiet and deserted underground parking lot of an apartment building in Accra. Now, Kofi Mensah is happily whistling to himself as he leisurely strolls through the parking lot to his car. He notices a vehicle with its doors ajar. He draws closer and sees no one in the vehicle. He bends to inspect the interior of the vehicle and he sees an iPhone lying on the driver seat. Upon further inspection, he concludes that the owner of the vehicle must have purposely left the doors ajar to airdry the interior and in the process forgot to take the iPhone and left it unattended.

Kofi Mensah has several courses of action. He could simply decide to mind his own business and walk away while pondering over the carelessness of the owner of the iPhone. Afterall, the law does not require him to be a Good Samaritan. He could also, community-minded, assure by whatever means that the owner would not lose the iPhone to a criminally minded person who chances by. There is yet a third choice. Kofi Mensah could pocket the iPhone and walk off without the intention of returning it or having it returned to the owner. If Kofi Mensah takes the third course of action, he commits the crime of stealing – since by so doing he has dishonestly appropriated the iPhone without the consent of the owner.

Let us leave Kofi Mensah in his thoughts for a moment and introduce our second person of interest. Let us name our second person of interest Kwaku Kumi. Let us say that Kwaku Kumi has no criminal record. Let us say that Kwaku Kumi is not criminally minded and he has no intention of committing a crime. Let us say that Kwaku Kumi is an undercover investigative journalist. Let us say that unbeknownst to Kofi Mensah, Kwaku Kumi is the owner of the iPhone and the exposed vehicle. Let us say that Kwaku Kumi is carrying out an undercover investigative journalistic sting operation upon a tip off that burglars regularly break into vehicles at that parking lot. To verify the claims or otherwise, he intentionally arranged the scene of the unattended iPhone and exposed vehicle and hid nearby to observe the actions of passersby vis-à-vis his prop.

Kwaku Kumi approaches the scene and he immediately senses Kofi Mensah’s moral conflict and dilemma. Kwaku Kumi suggests to a startled Kofi Mensah that they should sell the iPhone and split the proceeds. Kofi Mensah initially recoils from Kwaku Kumi’s suggestion. However, upon further prompting he agrees with Kwaku Kumi and he walks out of the parking lot with the iPhone upon proposing that Kwaku Kumi should meet up with him at an agreed rendezvous for the sharing of the proceeds. Let us say that Kwaku Kumi audio- visually recorded the entire encounter from the moment Kofi Mensah walked up to the opened-up vehicle till when he walked out of the parking lot with the iPhone. Let us say that upon a tipoff by Kwaku Kumi, Kofi Mensah is apprehended by the police as he attempts to sell the iPhone. Let us say that the relatives of Kofi Mensah are incensed that but for Kwaku Kumi’s suggestion and further prompting, Kofi Mensah would never have stolen the iPhone. And they further claim that Kwaku Kumi entrapped Kofi Mensah and actively harrased him to commit the crime and that Kwaku Kumi is not an investigative journalist after all but an investigative terrorist. They are particularly incensed that Kwaku Kumi audio-visually recorded the entire crime.

Let us now introduce our third person of interest, Kwame Samson. Let us say that Kwame Samson has no criminal record. Let us assume that Kwame Samson is not criminally minded and he has no intention of committing a crime. Let us place Kwame Samson at the same parking lot and by the same exposed vehicle and iPhone. Upon seeing the iPhone on the driver seat, Kwame Samson quickly grabs the iPhone and runs out of the parking lot before Kwaku Kumi, who was hiding nearby, could approach him. Let us say that Kwame Samson is apprehended by the police as he attempts to sell the iPhone. Let us say that the relatives of Kwame Samson are utterly shocked by his actions. They had always known him as a quiet and gentle young man.

If we are to collectively engage in objective detached reflection devoid of personal biases and interests, it would seem obvious to every reasonable person that Kofi Mensah is no special and certainly no different from Kwame Samson. They are both thieves – they stole the iPhone. They did not commit a crime of necessity driven by a justifiable or excusable desire to overcome a greater harm. The factors that motivated them to steal the iPhone may be different. However, they are both criminals of opportunity. True it is that they set off initially without previous deliberation or prior or advanced plans to steal the iPhone. Yet, upon being presented with the opportunity to steal the iPhone, they calculated that the benefit to them of stealing the iPhone would outweigh the risk of being harmed or apprehended in the process. Thus, they took advantage of the situation and stole the iPhone. They had several options. They did not have to steal, as no one compelled them to steal. They acted on their own free will. It makes no

difference that in the case of Kofi Mensah he acted after the suggestion and further prompting by Kwaku Kumi. In the end, he willingly stole the iPhone. He was not under any form of force or duress exerted by Kwaku Kumi. The suggestion and further prompting to steal was not coercion. It was merely a test of moral resolve. It does seem to lie very ill in the mouths of the relatives of Kofi Mensah to assert that he would not have stolen the iPhone but for the suggestion and further prompting by Kwaku Kumi. Afterall, no one knows what is on a person’s mind. The devil himself does not know what it is on man’s mind – it is said.

Then again, it does seem to lie very foul in the mouths of the relatives of Kofi Mensah to claim that he was entrapped by Kwaku Kumi to steal the iPhone. Entrapment entails tricking an unwary person to commit a crime. The person so tricked is, by his lack of caution or prudence, unaware that he is engaged in a criminal enterprise, and he is led in that unwitting state to commit a crime. It does seem clear that Kwaku Kumi did not trick Kofi Mensah to steal the iPhone. He presented Kofi Mensah with the opportunity and suggested the benefit of the crime to him and offered him a cut of the proceeds. Kofi Mensah was not unaware that he was engaged in a criminal venture. Indeed, he knew at all times from the moment Kwaku Kumi approached him that he was being invited to a criminal adventure.

In this illustration, Kofi Mensah’s actions show that he would seize the opportunity to commit a crime if presented with one – especially where, as in this case, the benefits far outweigh the risks. And it beggars belief that the opponents of undercover investigative journalistic sting operations blame not the perpetrator of the crime but rather placate them as victims of undercover agents. And upon that perplexing altar of appeasing the evildoer, they proceed to chastise undercover agents as though they were the scourge of the earth.

Persons like Kofi Mensah are not victims of circumstances caught in a web they are unable to extricate themselves from. They are not luckless victims who unknowingly walk into a criminal den. If they are victims, then they are victims of their own begetting and their inability to willingly walk away from crime. The responsibility for the crimes they commit should be laid fully on them and not on any suggester or encourager or provider of opportunity.

On another score, it does seem to do much violence to language for the relatives of Kofi Mensah to claim that Kwaku Kumi terrorised and harassed him to steal the iPhone. Kwaku Kumi did not coerce or by any means compel Kofi Mensah to steal the iPhone. It was not akin to the gunman situation writ large – steal the iPhone or I shoot you. Kwaku Kumi’s suggestion merely emboldened Kofi Mensah and steeled his resolve. If we will not commend persons like Kwaku Kumi, certainly we should not condemn them. They are underserving of our reproach. The persons deserving of condemnation and the stamp of opprobrium are persons like Kofi Mensah. On every level, it does seem clear that the only reason why the relatives of Kofi Mensah would complained is that the morally conflicted Kofi Mensah got caught stealing an iPhone – and on camera too.

The issue of invasion of privacy may forever feature in the discourse – since the perpetrator of the crime is audio-visually recorded without his consent in sting operations. However, the Supreme Court has decided that better it is to trump a person’s right to privacy to unearth or expose the commission of a crime, especially where it is near impossible to detect the crime except by covert audio- visual recording.

In any case, it seems abundantly clear that the insistence of the opponents of undercover investigative journalistic sting operations that the right to privacy of a criminal is invaded in a sting operation is akin to requiring undercover agents to disclose to persons being investigated that they are being investigated and to enquire from them whether they would consent to be audio-visually recorded in the process of the commission of the crime. Only an overenthusiastic legal system would insist on such bizarre requirements. In any case, which criminal worth his odious calling would agree or consent to be audio-visually recorded by undercover agents in the act of the criminal’s commission of a crime.

We have deliberately taken pages to illustrate, in some detail, the arguments of the opponents of sting operations and the tenability or otherwise of such arguments. At the OSP, we do not find the arguments against undercover investigative journalistic sting operations attractive. In our gathered experience in investigating, prosecuting, and preventing corruption and corruption-related crime, it seems to us that the views of the opposers of undercover investigative journalistic sting operations go around in circles without any real utility except to provide inexcusable grounds for the benefit of persons who have a propensity to commit crimes when offered the opportunity. And the summation of the arguments of the opponents of sting operations is merely that the criminal got caught on camera in the act of committing a crime.

Hundreds of patients unable to evacuate from Gaza hospitals – UN

The leader of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees in Gaza reports that many patients are currently unable to move from hospitals in the north to the south of Gaza.

Tom White from UNRWA said the same thing as doctors and other charities – it is very difficult to transfer patients from hospitals like Al-Quds in northern Gaza. The Palestinian Red Crescent says that Israel asked them to leave the hospital on Sunday because there were ongoing attacks happening nearby.

White said that a lot of people in the northern areas are looking for a place to stay in UNRWA schools and hospitals. This week, I went to a hospital and saw that there were many patients who couldn’t be relocated.

He mentioned that a lot of people in the northern region, including those who are not patients, are unable to move due to not having transportation or the resources to do so.

The people are extremely hungry, extremely thirsty, and extremely scared. Many of them are surviving on small portions of bread, and when possible, they are receiving canned food.

Deadly explosions kills three Jehovah Witnesses in southern state of Kerala

The police in India are looking into a set of explosions that happened at a meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the southern state of Kerala. Sadly, three people lost their lives in this incident.

Over 50 people got hurt during the explosions on Sunday at a gathering organized by a Christian religious group near the city of Kochi (Cochin).

A man was taken into custody after he shared a video saying he was responsible for the attacks and gave himself up to the police.

The police are still trying to confirm his admission of guilt.

We have him with us. He showed us some things that we’re checking to see if they’re true. The investigation is just starting, said MR Ajith Kumar, the additional director general of police, to reporters.

The event happened during a prayer meeting held by Jehovah’s Witnesses in the town of Kalamassery, which is about 10km (6 miles) north-east of Kochi. Over 2,000 individuals were present at the three-day occasion.

Two women who were at the meeting passed away on Sunday. Additionally, a 12-year-old girl who was severely burned also passed away from her injuries on Monday morning.

A high-ranking police officer named Shaik Darvesh Saheb said that a first investigation suggested that a homemade bomb put inside a lunchbox could have caused the explosions.
Shortly after the incident, a man named Dominic Martin admitted to doing the attack.

The 48-year-old person admitted to doing something wrong in a video he shared on Facebook. But the video has been removed now. He also went to a police station close by and turned himself in.

Mr Martin said that he was a member of the religious group and was not happy with their teachings that went against the country.

But TA Sreekumar, a spokesperson for the Jehovah’s Witnesses in the area, said that he didn’t know if Mr Martin was even there at the event.

The explosions happened right after people finished praying as part of the day’s activities. The explosion happened in the center of the hall.

Kerala’s Health Minister, Veena George, said that 17 people were taken to various hospitals because of the blasts. Out of those, 12 were in critical condition and needed intensive care.

Four people are very sick, and three of them need help breathing with the help of machines called ventilators. She said that people who are very sick have burns on more than half of their body.
The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, said that a group of 20 people, led by a police officer, is looking into the incident.

Security has been increased in Delhi, Mumbai, and other cities after the explosions.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses is a religion that thinks regular Christian churches have strayed from what the Bible actually says. They also believe that the world is going to end soon.

This group has around 8. 7 million followers globally and about 60,000 in India. They are particularly active in Kerala and known for going from house to house spreading their religious beliefs.

In 1986, India’s Supreme Court supported the followers of a group and decided that their kids should not be made to sing the national anthem in schools.

People who believed in the movement said they couldn’t sing the anthem because it went against their beliefs and would be a betrayal to their God, Jehovah.

Shani Louk’s mother, who is Israeli-German, believes that her daughter was taken by Hamas fighters at a music festival in Israel. Sadly, she has announced that her daughter has passed away.

Ricarda Louk, speaking to German media, said that the Israeli military informed her that a DNA sample from a part of a skull bone confirmed it belonged to Shani.

They have not found her body yet.

Shani’s sister also said on social media that Shani died.

Adi Louk posted on Instagram that Shani, who was 22 years old, was killed in the attack known as the “massacre at Re’im. ” This attack was carried out by Hamas in southern Israel, close to the Gaza Strip, on October 7th.

However, the reports did not say exactly where or when they found the piece of her skull.

MsLouk was at a festival near Kibbutz Re’im when some people started shooting. This caused everyone at the party to be very scared and run away into the desert.

Over 260 people died, according to the Israeli authorities, and some people were held captive.

Shortly after the attack, a video started spreading on social media. In the video, a young woman’s body was being shown being carried through the streets on a truck. Around the truck, there were armed fighters and others shouting “Allahu Akbar” (which means God is Greatest).

The woman was lying on her stomach, but Ms. Louk’s family claimed they recognized her based on her twisted hair and unique tattoos.

  • Actor Matthew Perry of Friends passes away at 54

Actor Matthew Perry of Friends passes away at 54

Matthew Perry, the American actor who was famous for playing the funny character Chandler Bing on the popular TV show Friends in the 1990s, has sadly passed away at 54 years old.

The sources from law enforcement in the US told the media that the actor was discovered dead in his house in Los Angeles.

Friends was a TV show about six friends who lived in New York City. It was on from 1994 to 2004.

The last episode of the show was seen by 52. 5 million people in the US, which made it the most-watched TV episode of the 2000s.

The LA Times and TMZ were the first to say that Perry had died. They reported that Perry was found in a hot tub at his house, not responsive.

A spokesperson from the Los Angeles Fire Department told the BBC that emergency workers went to a place in the Pacific Palisades area because of a problem with water, but they didn’t mention Perry.

Warner Bros, the company that made the popular show liked by many people around the world even today, said that Perry was a really special and wonderful person for all of us.
Perry was born in Massachusetts in 1969. He grew up in Ottawa, Canada, and went to elementary school with Justin Trudeau, who is now the prime minister of Canada.

The leader of Canada expressed that they were surprised and saddened by the death of Matthew Perry. I will always remember the games we played at school, and I believe people all over the world will never forget the happiness he brought them. Thank you, Matthew, for making us laugh so much. You were cared about and we will feel sad because you’re gone.

Perry went to live in Los Angeles when he was a teenager. He played the character Chazz Russell in Boys Will Be Boys and also appeared in other TV shows like Growing Pains.

However, he became famous all around the world because of his role on a TV show called Friends. The show was about six people from New York and their experiences with dating, work, and being friends with each other.
The comedy show, which had Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow in it, became very popular and successful.

Perry got chosen to play the character Chandler Bing, who is known for making funny and sarcastic comments and acting immaturely with his roommate Joey Tribbiani. He was nominated for an Emmy award in 2002 because of his role.
However, even though Perry was very popular, he struggled with addiction to painkillers and alcohol. He had to go to rehab centers multiple times for help.

In 2016, he said on BBC Radio 2 that he couldn’t recall three years of filming Friends due to alcohol and drugs.

Last year, during an interview, he talked about not watching the show.

“I didn’t see the show and haven’t seen it because I was tempted to engage in risky behavior involving drugs and alcohol,” he explained. I could tell the time of year based on how I appeared. That’s why I don’t want to watch it, because it shows what I see.

But I think I’m going to start watching it because it’s been amazing to see how it has affected people from different age groups.

In 2018, Perry had health issues because he used drugs. One of his organs, called the colon, burst and he needed to have multiple surgeries to fix it.

The entertainment reporter, Sean Mandell, said that people in Los Angeles were very surprised and had a hard time believing that Perry had passed away.

He told BBC News that Perry played a very important role in the success of Friends and was someone who was central to everything happening.

“He said that he had a great mix of cleverness and kindness, and he had a strong sense of reality. ”

Perry also acted in some movies like Fools Rush In, Almost Heroes and the Whole Nine Yards. However, he never found a movie that was as successful and famous as Friends.

His later TV work was well liked by many people.

He got nominated for an Emmy Award twice for his role as Joe Quincy in The West Wing, a show about the White House. He was the main actor in Sorkin’s later TV series, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. After that, he made his own TV show called Mr Sunshine where he was the main character and also worked as a writer and producer.

His last important television show, besides the Friends reunion, was a TV version of The Odd Couple. It was on American TV for three seasons. In 2017, Perry sent a message on Twitter saying he found out the show was being stopped when he went to the place where they film and saw that his picture on the door had been covered in green paint.

Maggie Wheeler, the actress who portrayed Chandler’s difficult ex-girlfriend Janice in Friends, was the first among Perry’s fellow actors to openly honor the actor.

Wheeler said that Perry made many people happy during his short time alive, and that happiness will continue even after his death.
“I feel extremely fortunate for all the creative moments we have shared,” she wrote on Instagram.

Morgan Fairchild, the actress who played Perry’s mom in the show and portrayed an author of sexy books named Nora Bing, expressed her deep sadness about Matthew Perry’s unexpected passing by saying, “I am devastated about the sudden death of my ‘son,’ Matthew Perry. ”

“She said it was surprising and sad that such a talented and young actor passed away. ”

Actress Selma Blair, from the movie Cruel Intentions, referred to Perry as her “longtime friend,” and said that she loved him, along with everyone else. Each day I loved him with no conditions or limitations. He told me.

And I feel damaged or imperfect. Feeling very sad because of a broken heart. Have peaceful and happy dreams, Matty. Have good dreams.

Lucy Davis, who acted in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, said it was a great privilege to work with Perry on the show.

You should have kept mute – Atik tells Frontiers over KIA COVID-19 testing rejoinder

Former General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed has strongly criticized Frontiers Healthcare Services (FHS), the organization in charge of the Airport COVID-19 testing project, for their response to allegations of misconduct made against them during their operation of the COVID-19 testing project at Kotoka International Airport.

Member of Parliament (MP) for the North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa accused the FHS of being involved in some alleged corrupt activities while it undertook the COVID-19 testing project.

In response to these allegations, FHS, in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 24, highlighted the significance of setting the record straight in light of the various accusations made by the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Labeling these allegations as “false, baseless, and a complete fabrication”, Frontier Healthcare Services stressed that “the reopening of the country’s air borders in the midst of the pandemic was made possible by the introduction of this innovative system focused on arresting the potential inflow and onward transmission of the virus to the resident population of Ghana”.

“It is rather unfortunate that what ought to be hailed as one of the greatest achievements of our nation during the pandemic has rather been wrought with so much controversy and negative press owing to the politically polarized nature of our dear nation,” the institution added.

Frontiers Healthcare Services further explained that “the arrangement between FHS and the Government of Ghana was regulated by a duly negotiated, executed contract robustly negotiated by world-class professionals on either side. There was a global pandemic that was killing people at an alarming rate and destroying the nation’s economy.

“It would be wrong for the government to, at the moment, be aiming at making money off screening travelers coming into the country. The government’s responsibility and goal at that time was to facilitate easy and affordable international travel to get the economy back on track.”

But in an interview with Peace FM, Atik said that the rejoinder has done more damage than good.

He stated that the company did not adequately address the pertinent issues, especially those related to the contractual agreement between them and the government to provide their services. Instead, they engaged in ad hominem attacks.

“They’ve not been able to indicate to us that indeed there was a contract signed between Frontiers Healthcare Services and the government and who the signatories were. All they have said is that, in the face of this COVID-19 and the government’s desire to do the testing, they submitted a proposal to Ghana Airport Company Ltd., and Airport Company Ltd. approved that proposal, and then they deployed machines to the borders,” he said.

Inconclusive cause of death for Matthew Perry pending toxicology tests

Matthew Perry‘s cause of death is still a mystery and is being put on hold until more investigation is done.

The LA Times and TMZ were the first to say that the actor from Friends had passed away. They said that he was found not responsive in a hot tub at his house on Saturday.

They couldn’t figure out what caused Perry’s death from examining his body, so they need to wait for the toxicology tests to get more information.

The LA Police spokesperson told CBS News that there were no clear signs of harm or injury. This information was also confirmed by the BBC’s US partner.

The LA County Medical Examiner’s office made a change to their file on Sunday to say that the case had been postponed.

This usually means that they have finished examining the body after death, but they still need more information.

A spokesperson from the Los Angeles Fire Department said on Sunday that emergency workers were called to an address in the Pacific Palisades area for a water problem, but they did not mention Perry’s name.

The actor from Friends, who died when he was 54 years old, was most famous for his role as the funny Chandler Bing in the very successful television show from the 90s.

The show was about six young friends who lived in New York City. It was on TV from 1994 to 2004.

The last episode of the show was seen by 52. 5 million people in America, which means it was the most popular TV episode of the 2000s.

However, even though Perry was very famous, he struggled with using too many painkillers and drinking too much alcohol. He had to go to rehab centers more than once to try and get better.

In 2016, he said on BBC Radio 2 that he couldn’t recall three years of filming for Friends. This was because he was using alcohol and drugs.

Kenyan student beaten into coma for taking extra food at school – Father

Caleb Mwangi was given a severe beating at his school in Kenya because he took more food during breakfast. As a result, he was put into a coma and had to spend 11 days in a special hospital unit for critical care.

When I arrived, he was unable to get out of bed. “He was unable to talk,” said Fred Mwangi, his father, in an interview with the BBC.

This happened almost two years ago when Caleb was 13 years old. Right now, he is sitting on the sofa in his home in Mombasa, a city on Kenya’s coast, with his mom and dad. He mentions that he sometimes spaces out or loses focus.

The young person feels really angry and sometimes hits the wall. He says that the trauma of almost dying has an impact on a person.

Mr Mwangi asked his son to lift his shirt and show a big, angry scar that covers almost his whole back.

He says his wounds were very bad, so the surgeon had to take big pieces of skin from his thighs to cover them up.
“This is him at the hospital,” says his mom Agnes Mutiri, showing pictures of Caleb on her phone. The pictures are too explicit to share. ” He is lying on the bed with wounds on his legs, back, arms, and face. There were almost 100 in all.

In Kenya, corporal punishment has been used in schools for a long time. It started when missionaries and colonizers used it to show that they were in charge.

In 2001, the government of Kenya made a rule that says schools cannot do it, but it has been more difficult to change how people think.

The latest Violence Against Children report, which surveyed households in Kenya in 2019, found that over half of young adults aged 18 to 24 agreed that teachers should be allowed to physically punish students.

BBC Africa Eye has found out that there is a concerning rise in the amount of serious cases being reported.

Caleb said that Nancy Gachewa, who is the director of a school in Bamburi near Mombasa, was the person who hurt him first and told other students to do the same. Gachewa says that she wasn’t at the school when it happened and she denies it.

“I was very hungry, so I ate five chapatis with tea,” Caleb explains.

Ms Gachewa and another student, Idd Salim, were taken by the police and accused of hurting someone and causing serious physical harm. Last year, Salim was given a punishment of four years in jail. As part of a deal, he has given evidence against Ms Gachewa in court.

Caleb’s situation is really terrible, but it is not something that only happens to him. A person working at the Teachers Service Commission in Kenya talked to BBC Africa Eye without revealing their identity.

They said that in the past three years, the number of severe school beatings that have been reported has increased more than fourfold, going from seven to 29. Many incidents are not told to anyone.

This situation is getting worse and we think it is getting harder to control now. Children getting hurt and losing body parts. They said that some of these situations have caused very serious outcomes, including death.

According to the source, when cases of school beatings are reported to the TSC at the county level, they often do not progress. The source also mentioned that these incidents are “covered up” and never become known to the public.

Many times, when the case comes to us, a lot of evidence has been damaged or destroyed. Sometimes, we are unable to contact the witnesses.

Most people can’t imagine that a student could die because of teachers or other school staff who should keep them safe. But in the last five years, the media has reported over 20 deaths that were connected to beatings at schools.
They said that in the last three years, the number of reports of the most severe school beatings has increased by more than four times – from seven reports to 29 reports. Many times, people do not tell anyone about things that happen to them.

The situation is getting very serious and we think it is getting harder to control now. Children getting hurt and disabled. “Some of these situations have led to very serious outcomes, including death,” they explained.

The person who shared this information said that when incidents of school beatings are reported to the TSC at the county level, they usually don’t get addressed further. They mentioned that these incidents are often hidden or ignored.

Many times, when we receive a case, a lot of the evidence has been spoiled or damaged. Sometimes we can’t even contact the witnesses.

BBC Africa Eye reached out to the TSC to answer these claims, but the TSC did not respond.

The idea of a student dying because of teachers who are supposed to keep them safe is hard to believe for many people. However, in the past five years, the media has reported over 20 deaths caused by beatings in schools.
In January of last year, Elizabeth Wairimu Gatimu, who used to be the assistant head of Ebbie’s school, was taken into custody by the police for committing a murder. She says she didn’t do what they’re accusing her of.

“I will do whatever it takes for as long as I’m alive to make sure my child gets the justice they deserve,” Mrs. Samuels She is still waiting to find out what will happen in the case.

I said to myself: ‘I won’t let anyone quiet me down. I will not stay silent. I won’t stop fighting. It might be the day I give up when I sleep peacefully like my daughter. But as long as I am alive, I will not quit.

BBC Africa Eye asked to talk to the Kenyan Ministry of Education, but no one was willing to say anything.

One group working for change is Beacon Teachers Africa. Started in Kenya four years ago by the Plan International, a non-governmental organization, along with the TSC, its purpose is to allow teachers to keep children safe in schools and their communities.

It currently has a group of 50,000 teachers in 47 countries in Africa.
Robert Omwa is a teacher in Kenya. There are 3,000 teachers like him working for Beacon. In addition to teaching children about their rights, he also runs workshops to teach teachers how to discipline students without physical punishment.

“At first, I didn’t believe it. ” I used to believe that it was a common belief in the Western world that African children should be punished by beating them. However, when I gave it a go, I felt a sense of comfort and relief, like a teacher. I felt less heavy or burdened. He said that the children were starting to like him more.

In Mombasa, Caleb and his family are waiting to find out what will happen to his school director. Ms Gachewa says she did not do the crime.

The 15-year-old still struggles to understand and deal with what happened to him.

“I want this woman to go to prison so that I can get the fairness I deserve. “

  • Evergrande granted last opportunity to approve debt arrangement

Evergrande granted last opportunity to approve debt arrangement

A judge in Hong Kong’s High Court has granted struggling Chinese property company Evergrande a final opportunity to propose a new agreement to handle its massive debts. If Evergrande fails to do so, it may be required to cease operations and sell off its assets.

A scheduled hearing, originally planned for Monday, was postponed to 4 December.

Justice Linda Chan said that this hearing would be the final one before a decision is made.

Evergrande is a company that owes a lot of money. They have over $325 billion of debt. They are a property developer.
It stopped paying back the money it owed two years ago and has been trying to come up with a new way to pay it back since then.

Justice Chan stated that Evergrande needed to present a specific plan, or else there was a high possibility that the company would be forced to close down. A liquidator can still talk with the people or businesses that are owed money, she said.

Evergrande did not respond right away when the BBC asked for their thoughts.

The situation started when Top Shine Global, a company that invested in Evergrande’s subsidiary called Fangchebao, filed a lawsuit in June 2022.

Evergrande did not keep their promise to buy back the shares that the investor had purchased.

Evergrande recently faced a big problem when it was announced that its founder and one of its main subsidiaries are being investigated for possible criminal activities. This puts a halt to their plans to revise agreements with their creditors.

The company also mentioned that Chinese regulators did not allow it to issue new dollar bonds. This was important for the company’s plan to fix its debts.

The votes by creditors on its plan to change how it does things were also cancelled. The votes were supposed to happen at the end of last month.

Evergrande has borrowed a lot of money from people in China, including regular citizens whose houses are not yet built.

When the company couldn’t pay its big debts in 2021, it caused a lot of worry in the worldwide financial markets because the real estate industry makes up about a quarter of China’s economy.

Many big real estate companies in the country have not been able to pay back their debts in the past year, and many are having difficulty finding enough money to finish their construction projects.

Evergrande needs to create a payment plan that its creditors will approve of within the next five weeks. However, it has been unable to do so in the past two years.

So far, the company has been able to stay in business because most of the money it owes is to lenders in China, who have a hard time getting their money back legally.

In contrast, people who loaned money to the company from other places can sue the company. Top Shine has completed certain actions, and these actions could lead to a court order for the company to be liquidated.

However, closing down the business and selling its assets would not completely solve the problem in a straightforward manner. Experts believe that it would make the situation much more difficult.

Eveline Danubrata, Asia Managing Editor at REDD Intelligence, said that even if offshore creditors successfully force Evergrande to close down and sell its assets to pay off debts, it is still uncertain if they will be able to get their money back.

The majority of Evergrande’s possessions are located in China. So the company will have to handle many different people in the area, like people buying homes, banks, and government officials,” she said.

Besides determining which lenders have the highest priority in a liquidation process, there is also a concern about who will complete the homes that over a million Chinese individuals are patiently awaiting Evergrande to deliver.

Ms Danubrata said it is difficult to imagine a situation where foreigners who have lent money get paid before Chinese people who own homes. In the end, any solution will probably need a lot of collaboration with the Chinese government.

“It would be difficult to take legal action against Evergrande’s assets onshore without approval from the authorities,” she explained.

Hospital in South Africa has detained suspected phoney doctor

A well-known TikToker from South Africa who pretended to be a doctor has been taken into custody after being accused of being a fake by authorities for almost three weeks.

Matthew Lani was taken into custody by the security team at Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg. He was trying to get into the hospital on Sunday night.

The people in charge in the Gauteng province said that he was given to the police.

The police department said in a statement that just before 8pm, Lani was caught. Lani was pretending to be someone else by wearing a hoodie, a surgical mask, and having a stethoscope around his neck.

It also said that Lani had gone to the same place before and shared wrong information, pretending to be a real doctor.

Lani became popular on TikTok because he shared medical videos and sold his own pills.

He claimed he became a doctor from the University of the Witwatersrand, but the university has confirmed that this is false.

He also said that his name was Dr. Sanele Zingelwa, but it was discovered that he pretended to be a medical intern at another place.

The Health Professions Council of South Africa stated that Lani is not officially certified as a health practitioner.

  • Missing Madeleine’s parents receive an apology from Portuguese police

Missing Madeleine’s parents receive an apology from Portuguese police

The police in Portugal said sorry to Madeleine McCann’s parents for how they dealt with her going missing when she was three years old.

Madeleine disappeared from a vacation place in the Algarve in May 2007.

A group of important officers from Lisbon went to London earlier this year, according to BBC Panorama.

They said sorry to Gerry McCann, who is Madeleine’s dad, for how the investigators looked into the case and treated his family.

The McCann family has chosen not to say anything about the apology, and they still haven’t found out what happened to their daughter.

In September 2007, four months after Madeleine disappeared, Kate and Gerry McCann were considered suspects in the Portuguese investigation. Both were asked by detectives, who thought they had planned and hidden Madeleine’s body .

Mrs McCann said someone offered her a deal. The deal was that if she admitted to hiding her daughter’s death, she would get a shorter time in prison.

The couple’s status as suspects were removed in 2008, but they continued to be suspected of wrongdoing in Portugal for many years.

Goncalo Amaral, the main detective in charge, was taken off the investigation. He later wrote a book accusing the McCanns of playing a part in their daughter’s disappearance. He said he was protecting his image as a professional.

The Portuguese supreme court dismissed the McCann’s lawsuit against the former detective because of the things he said about them in his book. The couple asked the European Court of Human Rights for help, but they did not win their case in September 2022.

The couple has also faced a harsh and hateful online campaign accusing them of causing Madeleine’s death and trying to hide it.

They also told the BBC that they had given the McCanns information about their ongoing investigation.

The officers helped the German authorities who think that a German man named Christian Brueckner, who is 46 years old, murdered Madeleine McCann.

Hans Christian Wolters, a German prosecutor involved in the case, was glad about the apology from Portugal.

“It’s a positive signal,” he said, also mentioning, “It indicates progress in the investigation of the McCann case in Portugal. ”

Mr Wolters plans to finish investigating Brueckner within the next year. He has not been accused or charged with anything related to Madeleine McCann’s disappearance so far, and he has openly said that he was not involved in her disappearance.

Brueckner lived close to the Praia da Luz resort while the McCann family was on vacation there. He spent time in the area from 2000 to 2017.

The Portuguese investigators declared him as a suspect, and now he is in prison in Germany for seven years. He committed drug trafficking and raped a 72-year-old woman in the same place where Madeleine disappeared in 2005.

Earlier this year, German authorities searched a reservoir in Portugal for three days to find evidence connecting a missing British toddler’s disappearance to Brueckner.

“We believe that he played a role in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, and we believe that he killed Madeleine McCann,” said Mr.

Brueckner has been accused of committing three more rapes, sexual assault, and assaulting a child. The five crimes are said to have happened in the Portuguese Algarve. Wolters said they will have a trial in February 2024.

Brueckner’s lawyer, Friedrich Fulscher, stated that his client chose not to say anything, as he had the right to remain silent.

“We understand what is in the files and I believe the charges are built on weak grounds,” stated Mr.

Kate and Gerry McCann have not shared their thoughts on the apology from the Portuguese police. They also remembered their daughter’s disappearance on 3 May, which marked 16 years. They mentioned that they still miss Madeleine a lot and are hoping for a big development in the case.

Israel names two Tanzanians detained by Hamas

The Israeli government has verified the names of two people from Tanzania who are believed to be kidnapped by the Hamas group. They have been held captive since the attack on 7 October near the Gaza border.

Joshua Loitu Mollel and Clemence Felix Mtenga went to Israel for an agricultural internship program, according to a statement from Israel’s ministry of foreign affairs on Sunday.

“They were taken by bad people called Hamas and are being kept as prisoners in Gaza. ” “Please pray with us for their safe and quick return,” the message posted on X (formerly Twitter) said.

It sent pictures of both of them.

Joshua’s dad spoke to the BBC and said that the Israeli ambassador to Tanzania had contacted them. The ambassador assured them that the government was taking action with regard to the issue. The dad had previously talked about how the family is desperately looking for Joshua.

Clemence’s family has not talked to the public yet.

The embassy of Tanzania in Tel Aviv has not given a response to the statement yet.

According to the embassy, there are more than 350 people from Tanzania living in Israel. Out of these, around 260 are students.

An unidentified person from South Africa is one of 224 people being kept by Hamas, as said by the Israeli government.

The first biological son of renowned hiplife artist Mzbel, Adepa, is following a path of humanism, reason, and a focus on the tangible aspects of life, finding meaning, morality, and purpose without religious beliefs. This 10-year-old boy, during a conversation with Obi TV, pointed out what he sees as contradictions in the supernatural realm, attributing them to science.

Adepa believes that human beings were created through scientific processes rather than divine intervention and made it clear that he doesn’t see God as his parent but rather as his mother, who takes care of him. He also mentioned that he pours libations to his ancestors, a practice that puzzled the host, and expressed his controversial views on Jesus Christ’s role in dying for sins.

“I believe through science that human beings were created and not born, and as such, I never got to see God as my father or my mother,” he said.

Adepa’s perspective challenges traditional religious beliefs, and he views the concept of hell as illogical, suggesting that an all-powerful deity could simply erase sin without the need for a hellish punishment.

The Kenya Human Rights Commission, a group that is not part of the government, is asking King Charles III to say sorry for the wrong things done by Britain when they ruled Kenya.

The king is going to Kenya for four days, starting on Tuesday, to try and understand the hardships people faced there.

Over 10,000 people were killed by British authorities during the 1950s when they stopped a group that wanted independence. About 1,000 individuals were hung after quick trials.

The rights group said they want the king to apologize in a clear and definite way.

Ten years ago, the British government officially accepted that torture had happened when the colonial administrators were in charge.

The organization said sorry and promised to give money to many veterans of the rebellion.

Some tribes in Kenya, such as the Nandi, Kipsigis, and Pokot, are asking the UK government to say sorry and give them money for the wrong things done to them during colonial times.

Some communities want the UK to give back their old objects and lands that were taken by the colonial government and are still owned by British groups.

Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba advises women to never marry jobless men

Nigerian actor Williams Uchemba has issued a caution to women regarding marrying unemployed men who put them in the position of being the primary breadwinners.

In a video he shared online, Williams recounted his own experience when he was dating his wife. He noticed that she would often go out to purchase items whenever she visited him.

Williams emphasized that he intervened and told her to always request money from him for anything she needed.

“There is something in a man, some call it ego. There is something that God has put in a man to provide. A man is built to not just protect but provide. Ladies, if you are dating someone that is comfortable with being jobless because you have a good job, Run. It is a red flag because when God created Adam, the first thing God gave him was a job and when the job was too much, God said it is not good for this man to be alone. Let us give him a helper.

“One of the primary purposes of a wife is to help, to support what the man is doing, not to be breadwinner or a provider,” he said.

He also mentioned that it is understandable when bad situations happen and a woman becomes the breadwinner but when a man is comfortable for his wife to be the provider because she has a good job, such a woman should ‘run’.

In one video, a pilot takes to the speaker of his airplane to say: “It isn’t secure to open the doors” since “protesters are below our plane.”

The occurrence is the most recent to demonstrate gigantic worldwide pressures and separates over the progressing Israel-Hamas war, which was started by a facilitated October 7 assault by the activist bunch that murdered a few 1,400 individuals, for the most part civilians, and the seizing of more than 200 individuals.

Israel’s striking back has been persistent, with Gaza beneath attack and intensely assaulted, kindling pressures distant past the Center East.

Israeli strikes on Gaza have brought about in a few 8,000 fatalities, the Palestinian Service of Wellbeing in Ramallah said on Sunday, drawing the information from sources within the Hamas-controlled enclave. Around 3,000 of those slaughtered are children, concurring to the same specialists.

  • Gaza’s ‘civil order’ deteriorating as thousands loot necessities from warehouses – UN warns

Gaza’s ‘civil order’ deteriorating as thousands loot necessities from warehouses – UN warns

The United Nations said on Sunday that there are signs of chaos in Gaza as many Palestinians are taking essential items like flour and hygiene supplies from warehouses. This is happening as Israel is intensifying its actions in the area.

During a press conference, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the situation in Gaza is getting worse and more urgent with every passing moment.

Conditions in Gaza became much worse after the telecommunications lines stopped working on Friday evening. This has made it even more difficult for medical services to help people and has made it hard for aid agencies to communicate with their staff in the area. Gaza is a very crowded place where over 2 million people live.

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) also admitted that some of the food it gave out was taken by others, and they are warning that more people are becoming hungry.

This means that people are losing hope and feeling more desperate very quickly. Samer AbdelJaber, who represents the World Food Programme in Palestine, said that they have been hungry, alone, and experiencing violence and great hardship for three weeks.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, about 94 trucks with aid have entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing with Egypt. On Sunday, 10 of these trucks brought in food and medical supplies.

Rear Admiral is a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Daniel Hagari, in a video shared on Sunday on the group’s official social media, mentioned that humanitarian aid to Gaza will increase on Monday. He did not give more information about it.

The Israeli military says there are enough food, water, and medicine in Gaza, even though many aid agencies are warning about shortages. The United Nations says that if there is a temporary cease in fighting, it would help in delivering a lot more aid to the people in need.

The act of taking supplies is a concerning indication that the situation in Gaza is becoming chaotic and unstable as a result of three weeks of war and a strict blockade. “People in Gaza are very scared, frustrated, and desperate,” said Thomas White, who is in charge of helping the Palestinian refugees there for the UN Relief and Works Agency.

White said that many people from northern Gaza were being forced to move to the south, which was causing a lot of stress on communities and making public services even worse. “He said that the communities have a lot of needs, especially for basic survival, but the help we get is small and inconsistent. ”

This means that the Israeli military wants people in northern Gaza to move south quickly because they are under a lot of pressure. The Prime Minister of Israel also said they are now in the second phase of their war against Hamas.

The United Nations and organizations that help people in need have expressed disapproval for the suggestion to relocate towards the southern part of Gaza. They point out that it is difficult and risky to move around in Gaza when it is being attacked.

We’re not sure if many people in Gaza got the message to go to the south, because communication networks have been cut off in most areas since Friday night. Some service providers and a monitoring group say that communication has only been partially restored by Sunday morning.

Israel is increasing its presence on the ground in a military operation.

After the attack, Israel closed off Gaza completely and started a war.

More than 7,950 Palestinians have died and over 20,000 have been hurt in Israeli airstrikes, as stated by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. They get this information from sources in the Hamas-controlled area.

Israel wants to get rid of Hamas and save the 200 or more hostages they took during the attack on October 7. But over 2 million Palestinians are trapped in the middle of the violence.

Israeli officials have confirmed that they have increased their “targeted raids” in Gaza. They sent ground forces into the territory on Friday night. On Sunday, Hagari said they will keep making the operation stronger.

Israeli soldiers have moved forward about two miles into Gaza, as reported by CNN after analyzing a video published by an Israeli media source.

In the video from Saturday, soldiers are shown placing an Israeli flag on the roof of a hotel in Gaza.

The video is one of the first ways to see where Israeli soldiers have been and what they have been doing in the expanded ground operation.

On Sunday, the IDF announced that they had attacked over 450 places in the past day. These included places where commands are given, spots for keeping an eye on others, and areas where missiles are launched.

The Israeli military told Al Quds Hospital in Gaza to leave quickly because they might attack it. This information came from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said he is very worried about the threats to evacuate Al Quds Hospital.

He said on social media that it is not possible to move sick people out of hospitals without risking their lives. He also mentioned that according to the rules of International Humanitarian Law, healthcare should always be kept safe from harm.

The head person in charge at the hospital is called the hospital director. This person is a doctor. Bashar Mourad, speaking to CNN on Sunday, said that it is not safe for people to escape and attacking the hospital is a crime in war. He also mentioned that when our ambulances tried to go to the south through Salah Al Din Street, they were hit by artillery. There are bombs being set off everywhere near us.

On Sunday, the PRCS reported that the airstrikes from Israel have already caused a lot of harm to the hospital. It has also put patients and residents in danger of not being able to breathe properly.

The organization said that the hospital is taking care of a lot of patients, including those who are injured, those who need a lot of attention, and babies that need help staying warm. Additionally, the hospital is providing shelter for around 12,000 civilians who have been forced to leave their homes. This information was shared by PRCS.

Karim Khan, the person in charge of making sure people follow the rules at the International Criminal Court (ICC), said on CNN that if anyone purposely damages buildings and important things that regular people need in the Israel-Gaza conflict, they will have to explain why they did it.

Khan stated that everyone who makes important decisions, such as the leader of a government, military advisors, and lawyers who decide on targeting, should be included. He also warned that it is illegal to refuse help to innocent people in need.

The ICC is a group that has power over very serious crimes like genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. Although Israel is not part of the ICC’s authority, the UN Security Council can still send Israel’s actions to the ICC because Israel is a member of the United Nations.

The UN said on Saturday that stopping the fighting could help free Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Israel is trying to find out the exact number of people who are being kept as prisoners in Gaza. The IDF announced on Saturday that they have informed 230 families that their loved ones are likely being held captive there.

The Israeli government is being asked by the public to make sure the hostages are safe. They are doing this while they are trying harder to fight against Hamas. The government says this will help in getting the hostages released.

Yahya Al-Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, said on Saturday that his group is willing to negotiate a deal to release all prisoners held by them in exchange for the approximately 6,630 Palestinians currently imprisoned in Israel. This idea may cause a lot of disagreement in Israel.

During a news conference on Saturday, the families of the hostages said they informed Netanyahu that they would agree to a deal where all the hostages would be immediately set free.

“We told the Prime Minister that the families are willing to consider a deal where everyone is exchanged for everyone right away. This deal has a lot of support from all of Israel,” said the representatives of the families in a statement. “Please bring everyone back to their homes immediately. ”

After Israel increased its operations in Gaza, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Iran all have warned that there may be security problems in the region if Israel continues its ground operations.

Saudi Arabia strongly disapproves of and expresses its strong disapproval of any Israeli forces entering Gaza, as it has negative effects on the local people. This was mentioned by the country’s foreign ministry in a statement on Saturday.

The Israeli military attacking the Palestinians would cause big problems for the region’s stability and global peace and security, according to the statement.

The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, said on Saturday that the Middle East is heading towards a dangerous situation, and it is not good for the region if the conflict continues to grow.

The President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, said on Sunday that Israel did something very bad in Gaza, which might make everyone do something about it.

Raisi wrote on X that Washington tells us not to take action, but they continue to strongly support Israel.

On Sunday, Qatar’s leader, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, talked with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Al Thani said he emphasized the importance of a “stop fighting now” and mentioned the possibility of violence spreading to other areas and causing serious consequences. He said this on X.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas asked the leaders of Arab nations to have an urgent meeting of the Arab League because of Israel’s actions in Gaza. He made this request during a speech he gave in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Saturday.

Abbas said that even though the UN wanted a pause to help people in need, Israel ignored it and continued to bomb and destroy things.

The United Arab Emirates wants to ask other members of the UN Security Council to agree to a decision that would require an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for humanitarian reasons. They also want to have more breaks in fighting for humanitarian reasons. The UAE is the only Arab country that is currently a part of the Security Council.

Earlier this month, the United States said no to a draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) that asked for a temporary halt to conflicts to help people in need.

Greta Thunberg detained during London oil conference

Greta Thunberg got arrested for protesting outside a fancy hotel in London where an oil and gas conference was happening. The conference used to be called the “Oil and Money” conference. People who saw it happen told CNN about it.

London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement on X (previously known as Twitter) that they arrested several people outside a hotel on Park Lane in London. But CNN did not say for sure that Thunberg was one of the people who got arrested.

The young person, who is 20 years old, was participating in a protest organized by a climate group called Fossil Free London. The protest was taking place outside the Intercontinental Hotel, where the Energy Intelligence Forum was happening. This forum is a yearly meeting where top executives from oil and gas companies like TotalEnergies, Shell, and Aramco come together.

Thunberg and other protestors stopped people from going into the hotel to try and stop delegates from going inside.

The Energy Intelligence Forum did not reply to CNN’s request for comment when the article was published.

Thunberg said in a statement by Fossil Free London before being arrested that we have to interrupt because our world is being destroyed by false claims and deception.

She said: “The industry that extracts and uses fossil fuels has purposely diverted attention and postponed actions. ” They have made ways to keep their business going even if it harms the planet. We can’t breathe because of the gases they produce.

Greenpeace also went to the protest. They said that many people, including Thunberg, gathered in front of a fancy hotel to protest against the fossil fuel industry’s influence on climate politics in the UK and worldwide. The protesters had to deal with a lot of police being there too.

The group said that demonstrators stopped people from entering the hotel since 8 in the morning. The climbers descended from the roof of the building and displayed a large banner that said “Make Big Oil Pay. ”

During a press conference earlier today, Thunberg criticized politicians as being weak and lacking courage for having meetings with lobbyists from the oil industry, as stated by Greenpeace.

Thunberg has had encounters with the police before because of her climate protests. In January, the police stopped her at a protest in a coal mine. In July, a Swedish court made her pay a fine for not following the police’s instructions during a protest in June. This protest had caused oil tankers in part of Malmö harbor to be blocked.

Greenpeace said that the protest on Tuesday is the start of three days of action to stop the conference.

  • Israel-Hamas war latest: Hospital evacuation deemed ‘impossible’ as Gaza military advances

Israel-Hamas war latest: Hospital evacuation deemed ‘impossible’ as Gaza military advances

Israeli soldiers have moved further into Gaza by more than two miles in their growing ground operation, according to a CNN analysis. Aid groups are expressing concern that the civil order is deteriorating, and hospitals are struggling with difficult orders to remove patients.

Israel recently said that it is starting a new phase of its fight against the militant group Hamas. It also mentioned that its troops on the ground in Gaza will get stronger, after weeks of aerial attacks on the area controlled by Hamas.

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Saturday that the country is ready for a challenging and extended war. They are aiming to eliminate and completely defeat Hamas, the group responsible for the October 7 attack on Israel that resulted in the death of over 1,400 individuals, mostly innocent civilians.

The increased operations caused leaders to worry about a bigger conflict in the region. The United Nations also called for a ceasefire to provide much-needed help to Gaza.

    Latest update so fare

Israeli bombings at Al-Quds Hospital caused a lot of damage to different hospital areas and put the people living there and the patients at risk of suffocating, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

The medical organization said that Israel purposely did airstrikes very close to the hospital to make everyone leave, even though it is the second-largest hospital in Gaza City.

The facility is helping many sick people, while around 12,000 people who had to leave their homes are also staying there, the organization explained.

The organization was told by Israel to leave the hospital right away because it might get attacked. But the World Health Organization said it would be dangerous to move the patients.

The hospital is in the northern part of Wadi Gaza. Israel wants people in Gaza to go to the southern part of Wadi Gaza because they are targeting Hamas in the northern area.

Charity organizations have expressed their disapproval of the decision to evacuate, emphasizing the difficulties faced by ordinary people in Gaza when trying to move around while there are ongoing attacks happening. According to CNN, even those who have followed the order to evacuate have not been able to find safety.

The ICC prosecutor is saying that leaders will have to explain and give good reasons for every attack they make on any civilian object.

There are not enough water, food, and fuel and people are becoming desperate in the area. The area lost all communication from Friday night until Sunday morning.

On Sunday, services slowly started getting back to normal after the United States exerted pressure on Israel to take action.

On Sunday, the United Nations expressed concern that the situation in Gaza is getting worse, with indications that there is social chaos happening. They reported that many Palestinians, who are desperate for necessities like flour and hygiene products, are taking them from warehouses.

During a news conference, the boss of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, said the situation in Gaza is getting worse very quickly. He asked for a ceasefire right away and for consistent help with basic needs for the people there.

Earlier, the United Nations officials said that the amount of help reaching Gaza was not sufficient to meet the requirements of the people there.

US President Joe Biden talked to Netanyahu and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Sunday about sending help to Gaza and making sure innocent people are safe.

On Sunday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah reported that the number of deaths in Gaza has increased to 7,960 since October 7. The data for this report comes from sources in the Hamas-controlled area.

Save the Children, a group that helps people in need, said that in the past three weeks, 3,000 children have been killed in Gaza. This number is more than the number of children who have been killed in wars around the world in each of the past four years.

The widespread destruction and a lot of people dying has made many people very angry and caused protests in the Middle East and other places.

Recently, a group of upset people in the Muslim majority area of Dagestan in Russia, got very angry and went into an airport. This happened after a plane came from Israel on Sunday. The airport had to be closed because of this and other flights had to be sent somewhere else.
Expanded ground operations means increasing the number and scope of activities performed on land.

The video, recorded on Saturday and shown by an Israeli news source, is one of the first views of where Israeli soldiers have been since starting ground operations in Gaza on Friday night.

On Sunday, the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) announced that they had a shootout with Hamas and targeted buildings that had Hamas members inside.

In the Israeli city of Sderot, near the Gaza Strip boundary, a CNN team heard consistent machine gun shots on Sunday from the northern part of the area. At the same time, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) were firing artillery and mortars from the southern border.

Israeli tanks and vehicles that protect soldiers were seen heading towards the border. At the same time, helicopters, drones, and fighter jets flew above.

The Israeli government is feeling pressure from the public to keep the 239 people held captive in Gaza safe. They are saying that their efforts to free these hostages are part of their plan.

Iran, a country that has supported Hamas for a long time, made new warnings over the weekend that the ongoing conflict could spread further.

Israel has done things in Gaza that are not acceptable, and this might make everyone feel like they have to do something about it, according to Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi. Jake Sullivan, who advises on US security, also mentioned that there is a higher chance of a conflict spreading to other areas in the Middle East.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia recently cautioned that there could be a risk of regional security being disrupted due to Israel’s increased activities.

Meanwhile, people are still asking for a break in fighting to help those who are suffering.

The United Nations Security Council will have a sudden meeting on Monday. The United Arab Emirates will request a decision on stopping the fighting temporarily for humanitarian reasons.

This means that a large majority of UN member states passed a resolution on Friday, asking for a continuous pause to help people in need.

Earlier this month, the United States said no to a proposed plan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The plan wanted a temporary break to help people in trouble, but it didn’t criticize Hamas for their violent act.

Poll predicts Bawumia will win the NPP flagbearership with over 80%

A recent poll conducted by the Centre for Sustainable African Development Initiatives (C-SADI) in the UK and The Outcomes International in Ghana has indicated that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the leading contender in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership race.

The poll found that Dr. Bawumia commands significant support from delegates, with 80.8% backing him.

Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, is projected to secure the second position with 10.4% of the vote, followed by Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (1.1%) and Francis Addai-Nimoh (0.4%). However, 7.3% of delegates remain undecided.

H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has the highest level of support among the delegates, with about 80.8% followed by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong (10.4%), Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (1.1%), and Hon. Francis Addai-Nimoh (0.4%). 7.3% of the delegates are still undecided,” the report said.

The poll’s results align with other recent surveys, all of which have consistently shown Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with a substantial lead. During the NPP’s Super Delegates Conference, Kennedy Agyapong caused a notable upset when he secured the second position behind Dr. Bawumia with 132 votes, representing 14.30% of the votes. Alan Kyeremanten had been expected to come second. According to the poll, Dr. Bawumia is considered the favorite due to his vision for the party and the country, his competence, and his perceived ability to win the presidential election in 2024.

“The main bases for assessing candidates by delegates are the vision of the candidate for the party, the vision of the candidate for the country, and the candidate’s competence.

The NPP delegates believe that the party has a strong chance of breaking the two-term limit (commonly referred to as “the 8”) if the government’s performance improves and the party remains united after the primaries.

The NPP is set to hold its presidential candidate (flagbearer) election on November 4, 2023, with more than 200,000 delegates participating. All recent polls have consistently indicated that Dr. Bawumia is the frontrunner in this race.

  • Oppong -Nkrumah announces National Action Plan to combat disinformation in the country

Oppong -Nkrumah announces National Action Plan to combat disinformation in the country

Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has announced that stakeholders within the communication sector are working together to develop a comprehensive National Action Plan to combat the increasing problem of disinformation in the country.

The plan, currently in development, is expected to be finalized by December of this year. This initiative follows a recent National Conference on Disinformation and Misinformation, where a 7-point communique was collectively agreed upon by political parties, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), media representatives, and development partners.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah emphasized the importance of addressing misinformation and disinformation to protect the journalism profession and foster meaningful democratic discourse.

“Disinformation, if not checked, at the minimum, trust in our cherished profession will soon be eroded. At the most, we will not even have a democracy anymore where people can exchange ideas and make decisions based on truth and fact. We run the risk of shifting to a space where our public discourse is started by misinformation and disinformation, twisted narratives, and sometimes total fabrications.

“If we get into that space, we cannot have any meaningful forward-looking conversation that builds our society. Because any conversation that starts with disinformation evokes misdirected passions and denies us the ability to discuss and build consensus on solutions cogently,” the Minister said.

The National Action Plan, as outlined by Minister Oppong Nkrumah, will encompass a range of strategies, including upholding ethical standards in the media, promoting fact-checking in public discourse, supporting high-quality journalism, and advancing civic education. The Minister urged all stakeholders to collaborate and commit to addressing this growing threat, emphasizing that while the government has taken several measures to tackle the issue, eliminating this menace will necessitate a collective effort.

Alternatively, he claimed that he received an offer of $800 million to drop out of the party’s presidential contest in favour of Dr. Bawumia.

This demonstrates how differently they have described the events and raises the possibility that different accounts exist about the purported financial negotiations.

In an interview with Time FM, he said “Does he know the number of people who have approached me but for the love of Ghana and the delegates I have said I will never do it?

“The money they offered is $800 million, if he doesn’t know. He should ask Mr Oppong Bio, if that is what they are saying but I said no I will not step down, Ghana first.

“In 2016, you people were not able to buy pickups. How come today you are able to offer me $800 million? So I said I won’t step down…” he stated.

In a media outburst against Kennedy Agyapong, Opare-Ansah accused him of harboring resentment, alleging that Agyapong’s decision to enter the presidential race was motivated by a desire to spite Dr. Bawumia. Opare-Ansah claimed that Agyapong had set conditions for his support, which were turned down by the vice president. However, Agyapong refuted these claims, asserting that his presidential bid is driven by a commitment to the public interest, and he remains resolute in his pursuit of the presidency.

“Why would I take all this money for Ghana to go through hardship, I won’t do it and I have not done it. Beside that, a number of elders have called on me begging me to step down and become vice president.

“But if you make me vice president, I have been told to my face that the only way they (grassroots) will be voting for me is if I am leading Ghana but I have been told that if I bring those who have served under this government, they won’t vote for me. So why should I even step down for us to go to opposition? I won’t do it,” he said.

On November 4, 2023, the NPP will select a flagbearer in advance of the presidential election that year.

Dr Lawrence Tetteh close tears on live TV over hardship of Dam spillage victims

Renowned Evangelist Dr Lawrence Tetteh was visibly close to tears recounting the hardship displaced victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage has to endure.

Despite the numerous humanitarian effort extended, the flood victims have lost a great deal of properties and livelihood including their homes, Dr Lawrence Tetteh said choking with emotions.

We are politicizing everything, people’s lives are stake, I am coming from Volta, infact we are taking food and things there but people dont have places to sleep . Children who were born that day are losing their lives and as a man God, I look at this as inhuman. This nonsense of GHC40m doesnt solve the problem. Poeple have lost everything.”

    Spillage

The Volta River Authority (VRA) commenced water spillage from the Akosombo and Kpong dams on September 15, 2023, due to a consistent rise in the inflow pattern and water level of the Akosombo reservoir.

Described as a disaster mitigation plan, the spillage exercise started at a very low rate without any significant impact on the downstream communities until October 10, 2023 when six spillage gates were opened to increase the flow as water-inflow to the reservoir kept increasing and levels got close to the maximum capacity that the dam can take.

The exercise, the VRA indicated, was a crucial one aimed at protecting the dam’s integrity and technological installations.

The heightened spillage has led to an overflow of the Volta River’s banks and displacing settlements in about nine different district assemblies in the Volta and Eastern regions including North, Central and South Tongu District Assemblies, Asuogyaman, Shai Osudoku and Ada.

Almost all communities along the lower Volta Basin have been affected resulting in widespread power cuts in affected communities, submerged houses, with displaced people going hungry.

The volume of water spilled from the dams has also caused some lagoons in the Keta basin to overflow their banks, leading to flooding in some communities in the Anlo and Keta districts.

A number of notable hospitality facilities affected by the floods include Villa Cisneros, Sogakope Beach Resort and Spa, and Holy Trinity Spa and Health Farm.

At least, 25 nurses were evacuated from the nurses’ quarters at the Comboni District Hospital in Sogakope.

    Background

This year’s spillage exercise is not the first time VRA is spilling water from the Akosombo Dam.

     A similar exercise was carried out in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1991 with the recent one done in 2010.

They were all done to prevent water from overtopping the dam.

To mitigate the impact of such exercises, the VRA developed the Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP).

The EPP is in three phases with phase one having water spilled very low and not exceeding 5,000 metric cubes (m3), phase two keeps spillage between 5,000 and 10,000 m3 while phase three is volume above that of the second phase.

Questions raised about Maine’s ‘weak gun laws’

At the press conference, a reporter wanted to know about Maine’s yellow flag law and what the officials knew about the suspect before the mass shooting.

Many people are worried that the law, which is supposed to prevent people with mental health problems from having guns, was not followed in this case.

On Thursday night, a Republican senator from Maine named Susan Collins said that based on the facts we have, it seems clear that the yellow flag should have been triggered.

Sauschuck answers the comment about the yellow flag by saying: “I won’t talk about who knew what at this moment because we are still actively dealing with a changing situation. ”

“We are actively searching for one person who has eight arrest warrants for the crime of murder. ”

It is not clear if anyone used the yellow flag law in the suspect’s case, but since Thursday, gun-control advocates have been blaming the killings on what they call Maine’s “weak gun laws. ”

According to the yellow flag law, authorities can keep someone they think is mentally ill and dangerous to themselves or others.

The law is not as strict as red flag laws. It states that the police must first get a medical evaluation and prove that the person is a threat before they can ask a judge to take away their guns.

The person named Robert Card was known for behaving in strange and unpredictable ways. He had a record of threatening to kill someone, and he stayed in a mental health center for two weeks before being let go.

Important lessons from press briefing as manhunt heats up

That was a long and detailed talk from the authorities in Maine. Let us quickly go through the important points again.

Robert Card, who is 40 years old, is still on the loose.
A message was discovered at a place connected to Card, but Mike Sauschuck, the Commissioner of Maine’s Department of Public.

Safety, did not provide more details about what it said.
Authorities are currently working on 530 tips and leads that they received overnight from the public.

A car associated with Card was discovered deserted at the Pejepscot boat ramp in the neighboring town of Lisbon.
The Androscoggin River is an important part of the investigation. The police have confirmed that divers will search the river.

There are still stay-at-home orders in effect in Lisbon, Lewiston, Auburn, and Bowdoin. It is uncertain when these orders will be lifted.
Sauschuck said that out of the 18 victims, only eight have been identified and their families have been told about it.

Blac Chyna explains the startling reason Tyga ended their relationship

American model and TV personality Angel White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, discussed the end of her relationship with rapper Tyga.

During her appearance on The Viall Files podcast, she revealed that their breakup was triggered by rumors about Tyga’s involvement with Kylie Jenner, and she found out about these rumors “the same way everybody else did: the Internet.”

According to her, these rumors eventually led to her being asked to leave Tyga’s home.

Blac Chyna and Tyga have a 10-year-old son together and are currently embroiled in a contentious custody battle. In July, Blac Chyna filed for joint custody, while Tyga has since requested full custody. Although she didn’t explicitly state that their legal issues prompted her to share details of their relationship publicly, she did express a desire to tell her side of the story.

“I never used to talk about these things, but I’m like, you know what? I think I’m kinda done with that and people need to hear my side,” she said. “It’s been years. I didn’t come out and be a bitter baby mama, you know what I mean? I feel like time has passed.”

White, who appeared on the most recent season of FOX’s reality competition series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, also discussed how she felt betrayed by Kylie’s interest in Tyga, because she and Jenner’s sister, Kim Kardashian, were “good friends” Angela eventually began a relationship with Kim’s brother Rob Kardashian, who she shares a young daughter with.

“It’s like, nobody’s seen the betrayal that was going on behind my back of me talking to somebody—Kim—and then her little sister, who she has no control over, started talking to my fiancé and then I get attacked,” she said. “And it’s like, how does that work? But it was kind of crazy.”

In recent years, White has changed her life by deciding to leave OnlyFans, reversing her plastic surgery and getting sober. She explained how she approached her sobriety journey and was motivated by her kids to live healthier.

“It’s a very hard thing. I had to teach myself discipline,” she said. “Even with [my] sobriety, working out, and becoming closer to God with my spirituality, that stuff takes discipline. It’s not just a one-day thing. These are things that you have to continue to do on a daily basis. All these things are gonna come at you through your mind, body and your soul and spirit.”

Mike Sauschuck is showing us some pictures, and points to the bowling alley and bar and grille scenes to tell us that there will be more police officers in that area.

“He said that many shots were fired. ” “The person we think may have done something wrong is not currently under arrest, and finding them remains our main goal. ”

He realizes that there was a lot of stuff happening last night at a place owned by Robert Card. However, he mentions that there are many places that the authorities are investigating.

He says that some of it is normal ways of doing things.

Sauschuck says that using a loudspeaker to make announcements doesn’t guarantee that the suspect is present.

He says that police search like the person might be inside, so reporters will see specialized teams at the place.

  • Two rescued as others still remain in Hamas’s custody

Two rescued as others still remain in Hamas’s custody

In the past week, Sharone Lifschitz has been with her mother almost all the time.

Yocheved, who is 85 years old, was one of two women who were set free from being held by Hamas in Gaza on Monday. She was taken away from her house in Nir Oz.

Sharone said that her mom is very strong and brave, but she still cares a lot about the people who are still trapped in those underground tunnels where the hostages from the 7 October Hamas attack are believed to be kept.

Sharone, a person who is a citizen of both the UK and Israel, traveled to Israel when she received the news that her mother had been set free.

However, it was a mixture of both positive and negative emotions. Yocheved’s husband, Oded, who is 83 years old and they have been married for 63 years, is still missing. It is believed that he is being kept against his will in the Gaza Strip.

Sharone shared with the BBC that her father dedicated his life to promoting peace and believed in the chance for Israelis and Palestinians to live peacefully alongside each other. She said this after her mother was freed.

He thought that you can make peace with the people who are against you. I hope he is well. I hope he can speak Arabic and that he is getting medical treatment.

The Lifschitz family had been living in Nir Oz for a long time and knew almost all of the approximately 400 other residents. Nir Oz is a community that is open to new ideas and combines farming and industry.

Over 100 people were believed to have been killed or taken by Hamas gunmen when they went on a violent rampage at the kibbutz on October 7th.
Right now, Sharone is spending her time assisting her mother in her slow recovery. She is also trying to persuade the Israeli government and its allies from different countries to take more action in order to release the 229 Israeli and foreign hostages who are still being held by Hamas in Gaza.

She thinks that it’s better to delay Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to attack Gaza with tanks and a large number of soldiers in order to “defeat Hamas. ” This will provide more time for negotiations to free the hostages.

The people living in the kibbutz were not successful. Sharone is still shocked and confused at how long it took for the Israeli government and army to help these people who had to take care of themselves for nine hours.

We were killed and no one showed up for a long time. The main goal should be to help these people return to their communities and families.

Sharone explains that her mother is generally a positive person, which is why she extended a peaceful gesture to one of the people who held her captive. She shook his hand and said “shalom”, which means peace, when she was being handed over to the International Committee for the Red Cross.

Some people in Israel have raised doubts about the handshake, but her daughter explains that she did what she believed was the right thing to do at that time.

Sharone said that the man was a medical worker who had taken care of Yocheved while she was held captive. They also talked about bringing peace to the area. But Sharone wanted to emphasize that although Yocheved had received care after the violent abduction, it should not take away from the difficult experience the hostages went through.

Before Yocheved was released this week, there was no information about the Nir Oz residents who were taken to Gaza on motorbikes and cars.

Eight-year-old Ohad Munder-Zichri, along with his mother and two grandparents, have been taken by kidnappers.

Ohad’s cousin Osnat, who is 54 years old, said that the boy is really intelligent and talented.

“He is excellent at everything he does from the time he was born,” she explains.

Osnat and her children moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to live with their family and avoid the rockets coming from Gaza.
The surprise attack on Nir Oz, a place created by her parents in the 1950s, was very shocking.

Osnat said, “Picture yourself sitting in your house. ” “You haven’t harmed anyone, but bad people enter your home, remove you forcefully, and abduct you. ”

She said that one of her cousins died in the attack.

This week was Ohad’s ninth birthday, but his family said they can’t have a celebration until he and the rest of his family are no longer restricted or confined.

After she was set free, Yocheved was able to tell what it was like when she was kept captive. She also said that there were other people from Nir Oz with her, but Ohad and Oden, who is Sharone’s father, were not there.

Sharone says it’s too soon to think about what will happen next, even though her mother was let go. Her parents’ house in Nir Oz burned down and they lost everything, including her mom’s photography career and her dad’s time as a journalist.

She says she will not go back to her family in the UK, and her mother Yocheved will not stop worrying until Oded and the other people from Kibbutz Nir Oz, including Ohad, are released.
Sharone said that the man was someone who helped take care of Yocheved when she was kept against her will, and he talked to her about finding peace in the area. But Sharone wanted to make it clear that the care Yocheved received after the violent kidnapping should not make people forget about the difficult experience the hostages faced.

Yocheved was let go or set free this week. Previously, there was no information or updates regarding the Nir Oz residents who were transported to Gaza using motorcycles and cars.

Ohad Munder-Zichri, who is just eight years old, was taken by bad people with his mother and two grandparents.

Ohad’s older cousin, Osnat, who is 54 years old, said that the boy is really smart and skilled.

She says he is really good at everything he does, starting from when he was born. Please rephrase this text in simpler language: ”

Osnat and her children left Tel Aviv and went to Jerusalem to live with their family because they didn’t want to be near the rockets that were being launched from Gaza.
The unexpected attack on Nir Oz, a place that her parents created in the 1950s, was very surprising.

Osnat told me to imagine myself sitting at home. You did nothing bad to anyone, but some very mean people come into your home, take you out forcefully, and make you go with them even if you don’t want to. Please rephrase this text using simpler language: ”

She says that her cousin died in the attack.

Ohad turned nine years old this week, but his family is waiting to have a celebration until everyone in the family is available.

After Yocheved was released, she could finally describe her experience of being held captive. She said that some other people from Nir Oz were there, but Ohad and Sharone’s dad, Oden, were not with them.

Sharone’s mom got fired, but Sharone believes it’s too early to start planning for the future. A fire destroyed her parents’ house in Nir Oz. Everything, including her mom’s job as a photographer and her dad’s past as a journalist, has been gone.

She says she will not return to her family in the UK, and her mother Yocheved will not stop until Oded and the other people in Kibbutz Nir Oz, like Ohad, are set free.

  • Maine shootings: Maine Democrat changes stance on weapon control

Maine shootings: Maine Democrat changes stance on weapon control

One of the few remaining congressmen from the Democratic party who did not support strict gun control laws has suddenly changed his mind after a mass shooting happened in his area in Maine.

Jared Golden, 41, didn’t support a ban on semi-automatic weapons until a gunman killed 18 people in his hometown of Lewiston on Wednesday.

The Marine Corps veteran admits that his earlier position was not successful.

He is a politician who represents a mostly rural area that supported Donald Trump in two elections.

The congressman, who was in his third term, won the election in 2018 and helped the Democrats gain control of the district.

Since he arrived in Congress, he has gone against his own political party by voting against a few measures related to controlling guns.

He was one of just five Democratic representatives who disagreed with a suggestion to forbid assault-style guns, which the House approved in 2022. It did not pass as a law.

“I do not agree or back any version of that,” Mr. Golden stated at that moment.

But on Thursday, Mr. Golden said that the shooting in Lewiston made him think again.

“He said at a news conference on Thursday that it is now time for me to accept blame for this mistake. ”

That’s why I’m asking the United States Congress to make a law to stop people from having assault rifles like the one the person used to do the mass killings in my hometown.
He said sorry for disagreeing with gun control before.

Mr Golden expressed his intention to collaborate with any coworker in order to complete this task before his time in Congress comes to an end.

Susan Collins, a Republican Senator from Maine who is not extreme in her views, wants to put limitations on high-capacity magazines.

US President Joe Biden asked Republican lawmakers, who are in charge of the House of Representatives, to do their job and keep the American people safe.

But even when Democrats controlled both the House of Representatives and the Senate during the first two years of President Biden’s term, they were unable to pass this particular law.

When Biden was the leader of a Senate committee, he was in charge of trying to limit the use of semi-automatic rifles in 1994. However, this restriction was only in place for ten years and people still argue about whether it actually worked.

In 2019, Maine made a rule called the “yellow flag” law. This law lets police officers ask to take away someone’s guns if they think that person might hurt themselves or others.

According to the rule, the person needs to get a medical check-up and be put under protection.

It is not as broad as “red flag” laws. The “red flag” laws let family members, teachers, and others do the same thing.

It is not known if anyone asked for something official about the person who did the shooting on Wednesday. The police and family members say that this person had serious mental health problems.

The Portland Press Herald, which is a newspaper in our area, shared that the yellow flag law has been used only 58 times over the course of three years.

The Second Amendment of the US Constitution protects the right of Americans to own guns.

  • Russia increases rates to 15% due to soaring inflation

Russia increases rates to 15% due to soaring inflation

Russia‘s main bank has raised its main interest rate to 15% in an attempt to reduce inflation and strengthen the value of the currency.

The interest rate has increased by more than expected, going up by two percent. This means that it is now more expensive to borrow money, and it is the fourth time in a row that this has happened.

The prices of things have been going up very quickly all around the world, partly because of Russia invading Ukraine. In September, the inflation rate in Russia reached 6%.

The Russian government has been spending more money on its military.

The Bank of Russia, which is the central bank of the country, has increased interest rates by 7. 5 percentage points since July. Their goal is to bring down inflation to their target of 4%.

This means that there was a sudden and unexpected increase in prices in August when the value of the rouble fell below 100 to the dollar, and the government asked for stronger control over the country’s money.

On Friday, it was mentioned that the current increase in inflation is higher than what the Bank of Russia had predicted.

People wanted to buy more things and use more services than there were available. This caused the amount of money borrowed by banks to increase.

The coronavirus pandemic caused problems in getting goods to people, which made prices go up. Then, in February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, it also caused problems in getting enough food around the world and made energy costs increase.

Rising food and energy prices are big reasons why prices in general are going up all over the world.

The Russian economy is also facing more pressure because the country is buying more things from other countries than it is selling, and also because it is spending more money on its military for the war in Ukraine.

Russia was punished by countries in the West because it attacked Ukraine.

The rouble dropped in value when the war started, but it increased again because the government put restrictions on transferring money out of the country and because they earned a lot of money by selling oil and gas.

But, the currency has become worth about 25% less compared to the US dollar since the conflict started.

The Bank of Russia has increased interest rates by a large amount before. When Russia initially attacked Ukraine, the bank increased interest rates from 9. 5% to 20% However, they started decreasing the rates shortly afterward.

However, increasing interest rates can only do so much to stabilize an economy, and experts believe that Russia may face difficulties in attracting investment because of the sanctions imposed by Western countries.

Economists have said that one of the main reasons for the decline in the rouble is because Russia’s trade has been negatively affected by the sanctions.

Since the war started, several European Union countries that depended on oil and gas from Russia have promised to reduce their reliance on imports from Russia. Many of these countries have now found other sources to get their oil and gas from.

EU leaders have made a plan to control the amount of money Russia makes from selling oil, and they have also stopped Russia from using a payment system called Swift, which is used by many banks.

The European Commission said that the sanctions against Russia are effective.

The blog post in August mentioned that the amount of coal being sent out of the country has decreased, and the production of oil in the country has dropped by over 25%.
