  • Akufo-Addo’s gov’t plagued with high corruption – Inusah Fuseini

Akufo-Addo’s gov’t plagued with high corruption – Inusah Fuseini

Former Tamale Central MP, Inusah Fuseini, has expressed concern over the high perception of corruption within President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration.

This sentiment arises from Ghana maintaining a score of 43 on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for the fourth consecutive year, as reported by Transparency International on January 30, 2024. The country is ranked 70th out of 180 countries in the CPI.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, Fuseini stated that the perception of corruption in the government has been growing since 2017.

He emphasized that President Akufo-Addo seems indifferent to this issue, demanding concrete evidence before acknowledging the public’s concerns.

Fuseini referenced the Afrobarometer Report to highlight the widespread belief that there are significant corruption issues within the government.

He pointed out that despite the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which was intended to tackle corruption, there has been little progress.

Initially, many Ghanaians, including Fuseini, were hopeful when Martin Amidu was appointed as the Special Prosecutor, seeing it as a serious move against corruption.

However, Fuseini now believes this hope was misplaced, accusing President Akufo-Addo of acting more as a “clearing agent” than a reformer in the fight against corruption.

Akufo-Addo’s purported galamsey fight a tactic for public favor – Sulemana Braimah

Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah has critiqued President Akufo-Addo‘s pledge to put his presidency at risk to combat ‘galamsey’ (illegal mining) as a tactic to garner public support.

Braimah, speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, explained that at the time of the president’s statement, the nation was heavily affected by illegal mining, presenting a prime opportunity for the president to start his term on a positive note. He substantiated his claim with a report by Professor Frimpong Boateng, the former chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).

On April 20, 2023, Professor Boateng, who also served as the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, revealed that several high-ranking government officials were involved in illegal mining, implicating individuals up to the Jubilee House, the presidential seat.

Braimah argued, “In my view, we lost the battle against ‘galamsey’ long ago.” He suggested that the president’s declaration was more about public posturing than genuine commitment. “You only need to read Professor Boateng’s report to conclude that it was either public deception or politics as usual,” he added during the June 15 interview with host Samson Lardy Anyenini.

Braimah also highlighted the resistance the IMCIM encountered from some legislators and government officials, noting that military protection was provided to some illegal miners during committee visits.

Moreover, Braimah pointed out that visits to forest reserves revealed extensive environmental damage, casting doubt on the president’s commitment. He emphasized that most mining in forest reserves requires presidential approval, questioning how the president could genuinely be committed to combating illegal mining while such activities continue under his administration.

He concluded by questioning the president’s sincerity in addressing the complex issue of illegal mining.

Ignorance, lack of education to blame for poor state of Kumawood movie industry – Socrate Safo

Ghanaian filmmaker and chairman of the Ghana Classification Board, Socrate Safo recently discussed the challenges facing the film industry in Ghana. He pointed out that one of the main reasons for the industry’s stagnation is the lack of proper orientation for newcomers.

During an interview on 3FM, Safo expressed his concern that many individuals, including himself, entered the industry driven solely by passion, without a comprehensive understanding of its workings. This lack of knowledge led to numerous difficulties and hindered the industry’s progress.

Safo also highlighted the absence of structured guidance and educational resources as significant issues. He emphasized that many talented individuals are ill-prepared for the industry’s realities due to the lack of necessary orientation.

He emphasized, “The industry isn’t growing as it should; it’s still facing challenges. It all started with ignorance. We made many decisions based on ignorance, which created challenges and setbacks.”

Safo stressed the importance of receiving proper orientation about the industry, stating, “We lacked understanding about the industry; most of us entered without the necessary orientation. We didn’t receive guidance about the industry; we pursued it solely out of passion.”

He added, “You might have the talent, but no one took the time to provide that orientation. No one sat us down and explained, ‘We do this because of ABCD, and we don’t do this because of ABCD’ – that guidance was missing.”

Sammy Flexx should be blamed for inciting Shatta Wale against Stonebwoy – Ola Michael

Media personality Ola Michael recently shared his insights on the controversy surrounding the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s concert at the University of Ghana. The event was called off by the university authorities due to a lack of proper information from the organizers.

Following the cancellation, Shatta Wale’s team accused Stonebwoy of influencing the decision to avoid a clash with his own concert at the same venue. However, Stonebwoy denied any involvement in the cancellation, emphasizing that he had no authority to influence such decisions.

During a discussion on Neat FM in Accra on June 13, 2024, Ola Michael criticized Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, for mishandling the situation. Michael pointed out that Sammy Flex’s remarks were suggestive and seemed to blame Stonebwoy for the cancellation, which he found misleading and inflammatory, provoking Shatta Wale’s subsequent outburst against Stonebwoy.

Michael clarified that the confusion originated from the TF Hostel representatives who misrepresented the nature of the event to the university authorities, claiming it was a karaoke night instead of a concert. This misinformation led Sammy Flex to believe that Stonebwoy was involved in the cancellation.

He also criticized Sammy Flex for not verifying the information with the dean of students before reporting it to Shatta Wale, which escalated the situation unnecessarily.

In light of these facts, Ola Michael questioned whether Sammy Flex would issue apologies to Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and others affected by the misinformation. He emphasized the need for accountability and suggested that Sammy Flex should apologize on behalf of Shatta Wale for spreading false information.

Overall, Ola Michael’s analysis highlighted the importance of accurate communication and responsible management in handling such controversies within the entertainment industry.

I’m ready to go boot-for-boot with Stonebwoy in court – Baba Sadiq

Ghanaian politician and entrepreneur Baba Sadiq recently discussed the ongoing legal clash between him and Reggae/Dancehall artist Stonebwoy, offering insight into the root cause of the feud.

Speaking on 3FM, Baba Sadiq revealed that the conflict emerged from his public endorsement of Afrobeat star King Promise over Stonebwoy for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year accolade.

According to Baba Sadiq, a tweet expressing his support for King Promise sparked backlash from Stonebwoy’s fans. He explained, “It all began with a tweet saying, ‘Keep excelling, my King, my AOTY,’ accompanied by a repost of King Promise’s performance in Canada. This elicited negative reactions from fans.”

The situation escalated when a fan accused Baba Sadiq of being indebted to Stonebwoy, prompting a response from Baba Sadiq himself.

Matters took a serious turn when Stonebwoy allegedly made an unwelcome call to Baba Sadiq’s wife, followed by social media attacks on her by some of Stonebwoy’s fans.

Baba Sadiq interpreted these actions as a deliberate effort to involve his wife in the dispute, leading him to take legal action against Stonebwoy.

He remarked, “After addressing the debt accusation involving Stonebwoy, he phoned my wife, and I was displeased with the conversation. Later, seeing a tweet from one of his fans targeting my wife made me suspect it was orchestrated to draw her into the conflict.”

Baba Sadiq shares his side of the story amid fracas with Stonebwoy

Ghanaian politician and entrepreneur Baba Sadiq recently addressed the ongoing legal dispute between him and Reggae/Dancehall artist Stonebwoy, shedding light on what sparked the controversy.

In an interview on 3FM, Baba Sadiq recounted that the conflict originated from his public support for Afrobeat sensation King Promise over Stonebwoy in the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year category.

According to Baba Sadiq, a simple tweet expressing his backing for King Promise triggered backlash from some of Stonebwoy’s fans. He mentioned, “It all started with a tweet saying, ‘Keep winning my King, my AOTY,’ alongside a repost of King Promise’s performance in Canada. This sparked negative reactions from fans.”

Things escalated when a fan accused Baba Sadiq of owing money to Stonebwoy, leading to a response from Baba Sadiq. The situation took a more serious turn when Stonebwoy allegedly made an unwanted phone call to Baba Sadiq’s wife, followed by some of Stonebwoy’s fans attacking her on social media.

Baba Sadiq perceived these actions as a deliberate attempt to involve his wife in the dispute, prompting him to take legal action against Stonebwoy. He mentioned, “After responding to the accusation of owing money to Stonebwoy, he called my wife, and I was displeased with the content of the call. Later, seeing a tweet from his fan targeting my wife made me believe it was not coincidental but part of a planned effort to drag my wife into the conflict.”

The situation has now reached a point where legal measures are being pursued. Baba Sadiq expressed his decision to refrain from further public statements, stating, “He claims to have an audio recording of that call, but I was not happy with what was said to my wife. Since he’s also unhappy and taking legal action, I’ll let the lawyers handle it.”

This retelling provides a condensed version of Baba Sadiq’s perspective on the situation without repeating the original text.

This is the reason Sarkodie’s wife X post amassed 1.4 million views

Wife of musician Sarkodie, Tracy Owusu Addo, recently joined the discourse on the issue of locked-up Global Fund donations of critical health supplies at Tema Port.

Her input, initially an informal explanation for the incident that has been making headlines, took a political turn when activists added further insights.

In her post, Tracy highlighted the government’s purported 15% stake in Tema Port and mentioned its current ownership by a French billionaire.

She shared a link to a 2021 Africa Confidential report titled: “SPECIAL REPORT: How Vincent Bolloré won control of Ghana’s biggest port.”

The post gained significant traction, amassing over 1.4 million views on X (formerly Twitter) with 679 comments, over 1,500 reposts, and more than 3,800 likes.

Comments on her post were split into two main camps – those who supported her stance and those who criticized it. Supporters emphasized that the transfer of control occurred during John Mahama’s administration.

On the other hand, critics argued that the contract with Bollore was a Build-Operate-Transfer arrangement, so it wouldn’t be accurate to say he “owns” the port.

Some of Tracy’s detractors accused her of unnecessary politicization due to her husband’s ties to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Sarkodie had campaigned for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in both 2016 and 2020.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Bernard Okoe Boye has issued urgent instructions for clearing the locked-up containers at the Port.

According to Sikanku, Bawumia’s tenure has elevated the Vice Presidency from a peripheral position to a pivotal one, actively seeking solutions to pressing national issues. By infusing the role with visibility and prominence, Bawumia has aligned it with principles of social justice, progress, and cohesion—essential components of a modern Afrocentric Vice President, as delineated by Vice Presidential scholars.

The book, beyond its political scope, delves into Bawumia’s leadership attributes, which Sikanku believes extend to broader contexts such as corporate leadership. Notable qualities highlighted include empathy, humility, hard work, excellence, loyalty, dependability, progressiveness, and a forward-thinking approach, particularly in the realm of digitization. I wouldn’t advise anybody to choose a Dutch passport over PhD – Randy Abbey

Host of “Good Morning Ghana,” Dr. Randy Abbey, recently addressed the ongoing debate concerning the perceived value of holding a Ghanaian PhD versus possessing a Dutch passport. This discussion was sparked by a controversial assertion from Kofi Gabs, a Ghanaian residing in the Netherlands, who argued that a Dutch passport holds more significance than a Ghanaian PhD.

During his show, Dr. Abbey offered a nuanced perspective, acknowledging that Kofi Gabs’ viewpoint is shaped by his personal experiences and should be understood within that context. However, he firmly expressed his disagreement with the notion that a Dutch passport is inherently more valuable than a Ghanaian PhD. He cautioned against accepting such beliefs, especially when it comes to influencing younger generations, emphasizing that his own reality and beliefs differ significantly.

The controversy arose when Mr. Happiness, another Ghanaian in the Netherlands, claimed that the opportunities afforded by his Dutch citizenship far surpass what a Ghanaian PhD holder could access. He specifically mentioned ease of obtaining visas, such as for the United States, as a key advantage of his Dutch passport.

This assertion led to a strong backlash from the academic community in Ghana. Many academics argued that the value of a PhD should not be reduced to financial benefits but rather focused on its potential to contribute to knowledge and societal impact. Chris Atadika, a PhD student at the University of Ghana, emphasized the importance of a PhD in advancing knowledge and influencing policy, highlighting that the monetary aspect should not overshadow these core principles.

Senior government official Sandra Ewool also chimed in, noting that while a Dutch passport might have certain conveniences, it’s not a guarantee of superior opportunities compared to a Ghanaian PhD.

Overall, the debate underscores differing perspectives on the significance of academic achievements versus citizenship privileges, highlighting the complexities surrounding notions of value and success in today’s global landscape.

‘I used to pay GHC20,000 electricity bills, now I pay over GHC200,000’ – Businessman ‘confronts’ Bawumia in Kumasi

As Ghana approaches a pivotal general election in less than five months, the electorate, particularly the business sector, is voicing significant concerns.

Key issues include the depreciation of the cedi, high taxes, and rising utility costs.

These economic challenges are central to the discourse between the two leading political parties: the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, recently toured the Ashanti Region to connect with local business owners. During this tour, a businessman running a mineral water production company shared his struggles with Dr. Bawumia, particularly focusing on the skyrocketing cost of utilities.

The businessman disclosed that his factory’s electricity bill had soared from GH¢20,000 to over GH¢200,000, severely affecting his profit margins. Speaking in Twi, he highlighted the unsustainable nature of these costs, stressing the need for government support for businesses.

“I am in the mineral water production business, and since 2016, the equipment I bought has been problematic. Dr. Bawumia, my electricity bills have become unbearable, jumping from GH¢20,000 to about GH¢200,000,” he stated. “By the end of production, my earnings are wiped out by electricity costs. We need a government that will support businesses in the Ashanti region if you become president,” he urged.

On Tuesday, fourteen-year-old Master Kwame Junior bravely confronted and defeated a massive 14-foot python on a sugarcane plantation in Benyadze, near Elmina in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality of the Central Region.

This young hero’s courageous deed has earned him widespread admiration, as the snake had been a persistent menace to the residents of the farming community.

Sharing his daunting experience, Junior revealed that he encountered the gigantic python caught in his brother’s trap while on his way to harvest sugarcane for his pigs. The snake, in its desperate bid for freedom, had uprooted vegetation and thrashed violently in the trap.

With careful observation, Junior, aware of the unique breathing pattern of snakes, mustered his courage and decided to slay the struggling serpent. He was guided by the Akan proverb, “se wokum owo a, twa ne tiri preko,” which means, “when you kill a snake, cut off its head to ensure it is dead.”

Demonstrating remarkable skill, Junior first severed the python’s tail before decapitating it after a prolonged and brave struggle. He then fearlessly carried the enormous snake back home, a 15-minute walk, where he was met with jubilant celebration from the community.

Junior urged his fellow residents to remain vigilant while in the forest, noting that this was not his first encounter with a large python in the area and suspecting that more might be nearby.

  • Prices of petroleum products to rise marginally from June 16, 2024 – IES

Prices of petroleum products to rise marginally from June 16, 2024 – IES

The Institute for Energy Security (IES) has predicted a marginal increase in the prices of petroleum products for the second half of June 2024.

This is primarily due to the declining performance of the Ghanaian cedi, despite falling prices for petrol, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) on the international market for the second consecutive period.

In detail, the prices of Gasoline (petrol), Gasoil (diesel), and LPG have decreased by 5.49%, 2.82%, and 1.48% respectively over the past two weeks.

The decline in international prices typically suggests that local pump prices should also decrease, providing some relief to consumers.

However, the Ghana cedi’s persistent depreciation by 3.44% against the U.S. dollar is likely to negate these benefits, preventing a reduction in local fuel prices.

The IES has noted that, based on these international and domestic market conditions, a slight increase in fuel prices is expected in Ghana for the latter half of June 2024, driven by the cedi’s continued poor performance.

Global market data for the first pricing-window of June 2024 revealed that petrol closed at $804.93 per metric tonne, diesel at $728.52 per metric tonne, and LPG at $438.20 per metric tonne, reflecting the recent price drops of 5.49%, 2.82%, and 1.48%, respectively.

Domestically, the IES observed mixed responses from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) during the first pricing-window of June 2024. LPG saw a slight price increase, selling at GH₡15.96 per kilogramme, which is about GH₡0.30 more than the previous period. Petrol and diesel prices were GH₡14.26 and GH₡14.08 per litre, respectively.

No ‘dumsor’ timetable is needed – ECG

Deputy Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ing. Kwadwo Obeng has dismissed calls for a load shedding timetable despite the announcement of a three-week power outage due to a gas supply shortage from Nigeria.

Business owners, including barbers and tailors, have urged ECG to release a timetable to help them plan their operations during the outages.

One barber expressed his concerns to Citi News, highlighting the impact on his livelihood as he lacks a generator to continue working during power cuts.

“I think that the situation will have some effects on our businesses. There is nothing we can do. It’s only God that we are praying to save us from this. Because we don’t have any solution, I don’t have a generator to work. So, if there is no light, what can I do?

“I just have to sit down and wait till the lights are turned on. If there’s no light, how can I work? I can’t work. And if there is no work, how do you expect me to eat? Or solve my problems?”

In response, Ing. Obeng explained at a public forum that creating a timetable would be challenging and potentially inaccurate due to other potential faults and maintenance work.

He emphasized the complexity of the situation, noting that without knowing the exact amount of power that needs to be shed or the duration of peak and off-peak periods, it’s difficult to establish a reliable schedule.

Obeng assured that ECG is collaborating with local manufacturers and companies with plants in the country to address the power sector challenges.

“We’re collaborating with local manufacturers, we’re collaborating with companies that have plants here…there’s more certainty in the amount that needs to be shed, then the utilities can also plan, then we’re definite.

“We know there will be a three-week [challenge], do we even know the quantum, we don’t know the quantum. Without the quantum, how do you even prepare the schedule? There are several factors, having known the quantum, you need to know the duration, there’s an off-peak period, peak period.”

“Unintelligent lies” – NDC’s Felix Kwakye exposes Sarkodie’s wife

Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Felix Kwakye has sharply criticized Tracy A-Owusu Addo, the wife of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie.

This controversy arose after Tracy commented on a trending national issue involving Global Fund tuberculosis (TB) and malaria medications being held up at Ghana’s port.

The Global Fund had previously issued a final notice for the immediate clearance of these medications, which arrived last October.

In April, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) announced that it had secured the necessary tax waivers to clear the drugs after months of delay.

However, demurrage and third-party charges have accrued to seven million cedis, leaving over 118 containers stuck at the port.

Samuel Hackman from the Global Fund Coordinating Mechanism Secretariat indicated that this delay not only jeopardizes $45 million worth of commodities but also strains Ghana’s relationship with the Global Fund.

Reacting to this situation on Twitter, Tracy A-Owusu Addo explained the reasons behind the government’s delay in clearing the items from the port.

She asserts that Ghana “Gov.’s stake in the Tema Port is currently only 15%. We do not have a say in what happens at our Port since 2014. It is owned by French billionaire Bolloré who owns 17 other ports in West Africa.”

In response, Felix Kwakye from the NDC used harsh words against her, sparking mixed reactions on social media.

The power of Ken Agyapong on Bawumia’s campaign is undeniable – Vim Lady

Ghanaian media personality Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, has commented on the potential impact of Kennedy Agyapong‘s involvement in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign for the NPP flagbearer position, as well as the broader implications for the party in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Vim Lady observed that the NPP’s pre-election campaign has lost momentum since Dr. Bawumia’s nomination in the NPP Primaries, especially when compared to the vigorous campaign led by John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She noted that Dr. Bawumia is currently facing challenges due to his past economic statements, and suggested that Kennedy Agyapong’s support could be instrumental.

During her interview on Okay FM, she mentioned that Kennedy Agyapong’s involvement might invigorate the vice president’s campaign, which has been struggling.

She remarked, “The NPP’s campaign has been uncertain, but Kennedy Agyapong’s entry could change that. Mahama is leading in campaign efforts right now. If the NPP campaign were strong, Agyapong’s participation wouldn’t be necessary.”

Vim Lady emphasized Agyapong’s significant influence and pointed out that some actions by President Akufo-Addo have placed the party in a challenging position, exacerbating Bawumia’s difficulties.

With the economy facing issues like high inflation and unemployment, Bawumia seems to view Agyapong as a crucial ally and problem-solver.

These comments came after Kennedy Agyapong was seen campaigning for Dr. Bawumia during the NPP Ashanti Regional campaign tour, which surprised many given their previous disagreements.

Ghanaian media personality Afia Pokua, also known as Vim Lady, has shared her perspective on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia‘s campaign and its impact on the party’s 2024 election prospects.

According to Vim Lady, since Dr. Bawumia’s nomination in the NPP Primaries, the party’s pre-election campaign has lagged behind the efforts of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under John Dramani Mahama.

She pointed out that Dr. Bawumia is facing difficulties in addressing his previous statements about the economy, and believes that Kennedy Agyapong’s participation could be a significant advantage.

Speaking on Okay FM, she suggested that Agyapong might be essential in revitalizing the vice president’s campaign, which she feels has been underwhelming.

Vim Lady stated, “The NPP’s campaign has been shaky, but with Kennedy Agyapong’s involvement, it gains a fresh competitive edge. Mahama currently leads in campaign activities. If the NPP’s campaign were stronger, Agyapong’s help wouldn’t be needed.”

She highlighted Agyapong’s considerable influence and noted that some decisions by President Akufo-Addo have put the party at a disadvantage, adding to Bawumia’s challenges. With economic issues such as inflation and unemployment, Bawumia seems to be turning to Agyapong for support and solutions.

She highlighted that Dr. Bawumia is currently struggling to navigate previous comments he made about the economy, suggesting that Kennedy Agyapong’s involvement could provide a much-needed boost.

During her appearance on Okay FM, she remarked that Kennedy Agyapong could be crucial in energizing the vice president’s campaign, which has appeared to falter. She stated, “The NPP’s campaign has seemed uncertain, but with Kennedy Agyapong stepping in, it gains new momentum. Mahama is currently at the forefront of campaign efforts. If the NPP campaign were robust, Agyapong’s involvement wouldn’t be necessary.”

He also financed their album launch at the Golden Tulip, an event attended by several prominent figures, including Stephen Appiah and Randy Abbey.

He explained that investing in the album involved significant promotional efforts to ensure its success. The trio’s decision to dress like Saudi Arabians during an award acceptance was inspired by Tagoe, who sent them the outfits from Saudi Arabia. Despite his extensive support, Praye eventually announced a new manager, Kiki Banson, at their album launch. Although Tagoe felt sidelined, he maintained a cordial relationship with the group before gradually stepping back.

    Stonebwoy
While playing for Hoffenheim FC, Tagoe discovered Stonebwoy through a YouTube freestyle video featuring rappers Opanka and Yaa Pono. Impressed by Stonebwoy’s talent, he reached out and later met him in Ghana. At that time, Stonebwoy had parted ways with Samini’s High Grade and was facing challenges. Tagoe believed in Stonebwoy’s potential and provided extensive support, including lending him his cars for shows, which helped Stonebwoy maintain a high-profile presence.

Tagoe was instrumental during Stonebwoy’s rise, including his first Artiste of the Year win at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Tagoe ensured Stonebwoy had a comfortable experience and celebrated the victory with him. He praised Stonebwoy’s ambition and work ethic, noting that Stonebwoy had confidently predicted the impact of winning the award on his career.

Despite their past collaboration, Tagoe mentioned that his current relationship with Stonebwoy is “cool but not really cool.” He noticed that Stonebwoy had unfollowed him on Instagram, although he continues to follow Stonebwoy. Tagoe respects Stonebwoy’s decision and remains proud of the artist’s achievements.

    Go Higher
Tagoe also facilitated the connection between Stonebwoy and Ivorian footballer Emmanuel Adebayor, helping to reshoot the “Go Higher” music video at Adebayor’s house after issues with the original. Tagoe contributed his Porsche Panamera for the video, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting Stonebwoy’s career.

    Reflections
Tagoe expressed no regrets or disappointment about his experiences, emphasizing that he helps others without expecting anything in return. He views life’s journey as one where everyone passes through various people who contribute to their success. Tagoe’s passion for music was nurtured during his high school years, influenced by talented seniors like Kofi Nti and performances by artists such as Afriyie Wutah.

Stonebwoy’s 2024 Artiste of the Year Win
Stonebwoy was recently declared the Artiste of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards, sponsored by Telecel Ghana. During his acceptance, Stonebwoy asserted that this win marked his third Artiste of the Year victory, referring to the unannounced 2019 award, which was left unconfirmed due to a stage incident with Shatta Wale.
