Starting with his mother, he knelt down to seek her forgiveness, expressing deep regret for his past actions.

A remorseful Funny Face told his mother: “I know I have caused you a lot of pain. I know you have been devastated by the news and the incident that happened lately. Please forgive me. You said a certain prayer for me before I became Funny Face. I want you to say that same prayer for me again.”

His mother, who became teary, hugged and comforted him.

The comic actor, his mother, and some family members then moved on to the accident victims.

He visited the older woman who was knocked down together with two kids on the day of the incident.

The woman, still on admission at the hospital, received Funny Face and his entourage.

He knelt before her and pleaded for forgiveness while explaining his side of the story.

Prior to Funny Face’s visit, it’s worth noting that he had covered all her hospital expenses, along with those of other victims, during his time in prison.

Court orders Mohbad’s wife to produce DNA test on son

The Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has granted approval to serve a DNA test notice regarding the late singer Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad‘s son, to his wife, Wumi, at her last known address.

The decision came after Emmanuel Oroko, leading the legal team for the Aloba family, informed the court that attempts to deliver the court documents for the DNA test on her son by the Sheriff had failed twice.

Consequently, the Chief Magistrate directed that Wunmi be served by posting the court documents at her last known address.

This information was disclosed in a statement signed by Monoplane Odumosu, a member of the legal team representing the Aloba family, and obtained by PUNCH, a news outlet in Nigeria.

Odumosu mentioned, “If the process were served on the last-known address of the respondent by Order of the Court, it would constitute good service, and she would be aware of the pending suit. The Chief Magistrate granted the order and ordered that the respondent be served by posting the court process on her last known address.”

“It will be recalled that the Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and filed an application before the Family Court, seeking an order of the court against Wunmi to present herself and baby Liam for a DNA test at any recognized laboratory in Lagos,” the statement added.

MohBad, whose birth name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, gained recognition as a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos. He initially rose to prominence under Naira Marley’s Marlian Records but parted ways with the label in 2022.
MohBad and his spouse, Omawunmi, welcomed their son in April 2023. Tragically, MohBad passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, following treatment for an infection administered by an unlicensed nurse, who was subsequently apprehended.

Illegal miners risk lives by digging under new gas pipelines – Genser Board Chair warns

Chairman of Genser Energy, Nana Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI has raised alarm over illegal mining activities threatening newly laid gas pipelines in the Ashanti region, as reported by Citi News.

Nyampong emphasised the immediate necessity for intervention, calling on local Chiefs to educate their communities about the hazards posed by these activities.

He highlighted the dangerous risk to both miners’ lives and the integrity of the gas pipeline project.

According to Nyampong, the miners’ excavation activities near the gas pipelines, combined with the presence of flammable gas, create an explosive potential.

“Those on the right of way have begun prospecting for minerals along our gas pipelines, simply put galamseyers have begun digging under our pipeline to see if they can strike its reach overnight, it is a very dangerous enterprise because when you are digging, you are using some force and a little sparkle of fire may touch the gas and you will lose your life with the explosion that will happen.

“We will appeal to the Chiefs who own these lands on the right of way to educate their citizenry that there is no gain saying that you are going to look for gold and you may not come back home. You shouldn’t exchange your life for wealth which you may not even get,” Nana Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI stated.

He urged residents to prioritise safety over potential gains and refrain from risking their lives in pursuit of uncertain wealth.

In related news, Genser Energy expressed gratitude to stakeholders involved in the successful construction of a 110-kilometre natural gas pipeline.

This infrastructure will power the 250-megawatt Kumasi 1 Thermal Power Plant (K1TPP) and future plants, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s power sector.

“The pastor gave me a bribe to silence me. I accepted because it was none of my business,” he stated.

This revelation has sparked discussions about the trustworthiness of pastors and the hidden aspects of their lives.

According to Erico, individuals should exercise caution and not blindly trust pastors, as they may lead double lives.

Ghana music industry is fast food paced; you need to be working 24/7 – Kofi Jamar

Renowned rapper behind hits like “Ekorso” and “Mi Dey Up,” Kofi Jamar has recently disclosed the reasons behind his hiatus from music, describing it as an unplanned phase prompted by life’s challenges.

In an exclusive interview with Mr Lion on Class 91.3 FM’s drive-time show, Jamar candidly shared his struggles, stating, “It wasn’t intentional but life happens, you know.”

The artist expressed feelings of depression and sadness during this period, revealing that his forthcoming single “Bold” delves into some of the touching moments he faced.

“As an artist, my greatest fear is feeling stagnant,” Jamar expressed, emphasizing his strong connection to music as a medium of communication and self-expression.

Reflecting on Ghana’s music industry, he lamented its fast-paced nature, where constant visibility and engagement on platforms like social media are deemed essential for relevance.

“Ghana’s music industry is “fast-food paced” and demands one to be “up in people’s face” all the time by, for instance, being hyperactive on social media, else “it’s hard [getting] back into the game.”

The rapper hinted at personal setbacks that hindered his music releases, citing a period of introspection while in America as crucial for reconnecting with his artistic essence.

“I had to connect with myself and see why I started this music thing in the first place,” he revealed, highlighting the importance of clarity and purpose in his journey.

Amidst challenges of perceived lack of support and fluctuating industry dynamics, Jamar expressed newfound wisdom and resilience.

“I’ve come out of that fire renewed and refreshed,” he declared, shedding light on his evolved perspective that embraces vulnerability and authenticity over perfectionism.

Addressing the global appeal of his music, Jamar confidently stated, “My music is not just meant for Ghana, it’s meant for the world.”

This sentiment echoes his artistic vision and determination to transcend boundaries with his craft.

The hiatus, though challenging, seems to have provided Jamar with invaluable insights and a renewed sense of purpose as he prepares to re-enter the music scene with his upcoming single and future projects.

In an exclusive interview on Emelia Brobbey’s Okukuseku show, Erico disclosed the breakdown of trust that led to the dissolution of his marriage.

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) is pushing for a 30% increase in transport fares.

Deputy Public Relations Officer, Samuel Amoah highlighted ongoing discussions with the Transport Ministry, emphasizing the need to alleviate the financial strain on drivers while ensuring sustainable service delivery.

This proposal marks a shift from GPRTU’s previous attempt at a 20% fare hike, which was rejected earlier due to procedural issues.

Amoah expressed optimism that the Ministry would recognize the urgency of fare adjustments to support transport operators and maintain essential services.

“The Ministry therefore invited us for a conversation, an invitation we accepted and presented all our reasons for the 20 percent increment. Even at that time, the fuel price wasn’t as it is now.

“The 20 percent we came up with earlier, we considered the cost of spare parts, lubricants, and DVLA and Insurance taxes.

“Those were the major components that we focused on to come up with the 20 percent increment.

“Our expectation on Wednesday is that, surely the Transport Ministry will agree with us so that we can increase the fares for our drivers to have peace of mind to continue serving the nation.”

Woman fails to get job for not wearing makeup

Job hunting is often a daunting task for many, and the disappointment of being turned down after what seemed like a promising opportunity can sting even more.

Such was the experience of one woman who was rejected for a job, not for her qualifications or skills, but allegedly because she didn’t wear makeup to the interview.

Melissa Weaver, a TikTok user, shared her story in a viral video where she expressed her shock and confusion.

“I interviewed for a job earlier this week,” she explained to her viewers. “The interview went so well. Every question she had, I had a great answer for. I used to work in recruitment. I know how to interview.”

Despite a successful interview where she felt she was a perfect fit for the position of vice president, she received an email stating she wouldn’t be moving forward in the process.

“I get an email from the recruiter saying that I’m not going to be moving on to the next round,” Weaver said. “I was really bummed because I wanted the job, but I was also very confused.”

Weaver reached out to the recruiter for feedback and was informed that while her background, experience, and alignment with the company’s values were all commendable, the lack of effort in her appearance, specifically not wearing makeup, was a concern for the level of the role she applied for.

“She said that while my background was exactly what they were looking for, my experience lined up with what they need for the position, and my own personal goals and values aligned with the company’s, she was concerned that for my interview, I hadn’t put enough effort in my appearance given the level of role I was interviewing for.

“I don’t really wear a lot of makeup. Not to be quirky, I just don’t,” she explained, stating that she had interviewed for a vice president position.

The incident sparked discussions about societal expectations and biases, with many pointing out the unfairness of such judgments, especially in professional settings.

While some suggested legal action, Weaver opted not to pursue that route, focusing instead on continuing her job search.

The story serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by women in the workforce and the importance of addressing biases and discriminatory practices.

Gospel music sensation Gifty Adorye, widely known as Empress Gifty in gospel music circles, has firmly denied assertions that her husband’s political influence played a pivotal role in revitalizing her music career.

Contrary to rumors, she stated that she had already solidified her reputation as one of the top gospel artists in the country prior to her marriage.

She emphasized that her artistic evolution was independent of her union with a political figure.

While acknowledging her husband’s supportive role since their marriage, particularly in navigating certain aspects of her career, she stressed that her success was built on her own merits.

During an interview with MX24TV as reported by GhanaWeb, Empress Gifty addressed the claims head-on.

When asked about the perception that her visibility surged due to her marriage to a politician, she calmly responded, “I was Empress Gifty before I met my husband [Hopeson Adorye]. I always say that he was the icing on the cake. My brand was already at its peak before I got married.”

She further elucidated, “So, when I hear people talk about my marriage to a politician impacting my life, it does not bother me. I see my husband as the head, and I give him the respect due because I need love and attention. I don’t add what my husband does to my career; it’s not part of my ministry.”

Qualities individuals should prioritize when choosing a life partner – Gabby Otchere-Darko shares

A prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized the significance of thoughtful partner selection.

Otchere-Darko highlighted the essence of mutual appreciation and value addition in relationships, urging individuals to assess the qualities they admire in their prospective life partners.

His insights, shared via a Facebook post on April 16, 2024, underscored the importance of recognizing and cherishing the unique attributes that enhance the partnership, promoting a deeper understanding of love and companionship.

He submitted his views in light of recent remarks by Pastor Elvis Agyemang cautioning against marrying women with superiority complexes.

“A man and a woman become a couple because there are things about each other that the other values/cherishes/appreciates and by teaming up, it makes the partner/spouse better.

“Take your time, reflect and evaluate, look at all that you like about your other half, the things that they do that you may even take for granted, at home, at work, and begin listing the many things that they are better in than you. It may not have a price tag, but likely to be priceless. Don’t be blind to them.

“It is what partnership is all about; value addition in more ways than we may care to admit. Some call it love. Others simply see it as a way of life if not the way of life,” he said in a Facebook post on April 16, 2024.

Most Ghanaian musicians are very timid; they aren’t proactive – Nana Ashis on TGMA errors

Artiste manager, Nana Poku Ashis, has weighed in on the recent inclusion of rapper Amerado’s song “Kwaku Ananse” in the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominee list.

His reaction comes after Amerado’s successful petition to have his song recognized in multiple categories.

During a live discussion on Hitz FM, Ashis emphasised the importance of Ghanaian creatives standing up for themselves when faced with injustices.

He lamented the tendency of many musicians to remain silent even when they know they are right, labelling them as ‘timid’ in addressing issues affecting them.

Ashis urged musicians to be proactive in addressing matters that concern them, citing Amerado’s case as a prime example of how advocating for oneself can lead to positive outcomes.

He highlighted the need for artists to make their voices heard and not allow errors to go uncorrected due to silence.

“A lot of musicians are very timid. They know what’s right, or they have the facts to back their case. But most of them just stay behind. You need to make a case for yourself at all times.

“This has shed light on a typical example of how some of these musicians (if they feel things are going wrong) should act.

“It’s not about fighting, it’s not about insults. Make a case for yourself, and the right quarters will hear it.

“Amerado has shown the way. If others also feel something unjust has been done to them, I think they should also come up and make a case for themselves.

“You know, there are times when you see the blatant mistakes, but because it’s just pundits talking and the artists themselves are not making a case to start, it gets to slide like that,” Nana Ashis stated.

The TGMA board recently made updates to the nomination list following petitions from several artists, including Amerado.

As a result, Amerado’s song “Kwaku Ananse” will now compete in both the Best Highlife Song and Most Popular Song of the Year categories, with the original version replacing the remix.

Additionally, the joint project “Lonely Road” by O’Kenneth & Xlim Kid received proper recognition after the review.
Ashis’s comments underscore a broader call for Ghanaian musicians to speak up against injustices and actively advocate for their rights within the music industry.

Nigerian socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest, known offstage as Pascal Okechukwu, found himself in legal turmoil as he faced charges of banknote abuse.

During his recent court appearance, Chief Priest pleaded not guilty to three counts of the alleged offence, which authorities claim occurred during various social events where he threw money into the air.

The act, commonly referred to as “spraying,” is a customary practice at Nigerian celebrations like weddings.

However, it has garnered legal attention due to concerns about the mishandling of banknotes, which can be trampled upon when they fall to the ground.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s premier anti-crime agency, has intensified efforts to curb what they term “all forms of naira abuse.”

This crackdown has already seen repercussions for other public figures like internet personality Bobrisky, who recently received a prison sentence for a similar offence.

Chief Priest’s case adds to a growing list of high-profile individuals facing legal consequences for banknote-related misconduct.

Despite the charges, Chief Priest maintains his innocence, setting the stage for a legal battle over the controversial tradition of “spraying” money at festive gatherings.
