Gaza war: International Court of Justice to rule on Israel’s request to halt military action

The UN’s highest court will decide if they should tell Israel to stop their actions in Gaza right away.

On Friday, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will have a meeting about a case. South Africa is saying that Israel is doing very bad things, like killing many people from a particular group.

Both countries spoke when the case started two weeks ago. Israel strongly said no to the accusation.

The court’s decision against Israel is not able to be enforced, but it would still be very important in politics.

Over 25,000 Palestinians, mainly women and children, have been killed and many more hurt, according to the health ministry in Gaza. The violence started when the group Hamas attacked Israel.

The Hamas attack on October 7th killed around 1,300 people, mostly innocent people. The attackers also kidnapped about 250 people and took them back to Gaza.

South Africa is asking the court to stop Israel’s military actions towards Palestinians while they investigate claims of genocide. The decision on this is not going to happen for a long time, maybe even for years.

Israel was very upset when South Africa said they were committing genocide. They said South Africa was not telling the truth. It said it could protect itself and was only aiming at Hamas fighters, not people in Palestine.

It wanted the judges to reject South Africa’s request because it claimed the accusations of genocide were not true.

On Friday, 17 judges need to answer two questions before making a decision.

First, we need to see if South Africa’s claim against Israel fits the UN‘s rules for the 1948 Genocide Convention. The agreement, which Israel and South Africa have agreed to, explains what actions can be considered as genocide. At the beginning of the case, it is not very difficult to prove.

Furthermore, the judges can consider requests from other places besides South Africa. The panel should tell Israel to follow international law and make sure that it doesn’t stop food, water, or medicine from being delivered to people.

The ICJ can only give advice and opinions, but it doesn’t have the power to make decisions. Although its decisions are considered to have legal force, they cannot be enforced by the court. If Israel loses in court on Friday, they will probably just ignore the decision.

It would make Israel feel more pressure to stop fighting and make its allies work harder to help find a peaceful solution and get aid to the people who need it.

  • Khan Younis: Second city of Gaza reportedly surrounded by Israeli forces

Khan Younis: Second city of Gaza reportedly surrounded by Israeli forces

The Israeli army says its troops have surrounded Khan Younis, which is the biggest city in the southern part of Gaza.

Soldiers have moved further into the city where they think Hamas leaders are hiding with hostages.

People who live there said that big military vehicles closed the only road that goes out of the city towards the coast. This means they can’t escape to the south.

There was heavy fighting near the two big hospitals in the city.

Funerals were happening for some of the 24 Israeli soldiers who were killed on Monday. It was the deadliest day for the Israel Defense Forces since they started their ground offensive in Gaza 12 weeks ago.

In the last day, 195 Palestinians died in Gaza, according to the health ministry run by Hamas.

The government says that over 25,400 people, mostly children and women, have died in the war between Hamas and Israel.

The attack happened when Hamas gunmen from Gaza crossed into southern Israel. Around 1,300 people were killed, mostly civilians, and about 250 others were taken hostage.

Israeli soldiers moved into southern Gaza in early December after mostly gaining control of Hamas areas in the north.

In a few days, they were said to have arrived in the middle of Khan Younis, where hundreds of thousands of people who had left northern areas were staying.

However, the soldiers have met strong opposition from Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade. It is one of the two most powerful groups in the group, which is labeled as a terrorist organization by Israel, the UK, and other countries.

The Israeli military has increased its efforts in recent days, using airstrikes and artillery to attack different parts of the city. Many people have been killed, and tanks have moved into the western and central areas of the city.

On Tuesday, the IDF said that its soldiers surrounded Khan Yunis and did a big operation in the area.

The soldiers fought in close combat, used air strikes, and worked together to defeat lots of terrorists.

The IDF told people in western Khan Younis to go to the al-Mawasi area by the sea to stay safe.

However, some people said that tanks were blocking the road, so they couldn’t go to Rafah where about a million people are staying for safety. Rafah is near the border with Egypt.

“I want to go to Rafah, but the tanks are close to the coast and shooting towards the west,” said Shaban, who has four kids and works as an electrical engineer, to Reuters news agency.

The World Health Organization is very worried about reports of hospitals being attacked in Khan Younis.

On Tuesday, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that a person who was not in the military was killed by an Israeli drone at the entrance of Al-Amal Hospital, which is managed by PRCS, and that other people were hurt when shells hit its nearby headquarters.

“The situation is still very risky. ” This morning, the Palestine Red Crescent’s headquarters on the fourth floor was bombed with artillery. “Israeli drones kept shooting at people at al-Amal Hospital,” said Nebal Farsakh, a spokeswoman from Ramallah, in an interview with the BBC.

“Many scared and worried people who have been forced to leave their homes are staying in our buildings. ”

The IDF did not comment right away, but they have said before that Hamas fighters hide among civilians and use medical buildings for their operations.

Ms Farsakh also mentioned that ambulances are having a hard time getting to injured people and taking them to hospitals. They are being instructed to take serious cases to Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

She said that the Al-Amal and Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza are very crowded and have too many patients.

Dr Haytham Ahmad, who works in Nasser’s emergency department, told the BBC that they had to perform many amputations and some patients couldn’t get anesthesia because there wasn’t enough supplies.

“These injuries are very serious and have caused severe crushing. Only a little bit of skin and muscle are still attached. ” He said we are trying to use only a little anesthesia in this situation.

A spokesperson from the World Health Organization said that Nasser is surrounded and the 400 patients, medical staff, and displaced civilians there can’t leave.

Gaza’s health ministry said that Israeli forces shot at the top floors of the hospital’s surgery and emergency buildings.

A video made by a Palestinian journalist shows gunfire hitting the hospital’s western corner and another video shows smoke rising from an area to the south.

The IDF said they didn’t know about the event when asked by AFP news agency.
Palestinian people were told to leave their homes by the Israeli military and were seen walking along the coastal road in western Khan Younis on 23 January 2024.

Later, the leader of the United Nations, António Guterres, said that the people in Gaza are suffering a really bad situation. He said that everyone there is experiencing a lot of destruction, and it’s happening very fast and at a level that hasn’t been seen before.

He asked again for a quick break in fighting to help people in need.

Qatar’s spokesperson for foreign affairs said they are talking seriously with both groups about a possible agreement. A Palestinian official told the BBC that a group from Hamas went to Cairo to talk about new ideas with Egypt’s intelligence minister.

Israel has not said no to the idea of a two-month break from fighting, which would include letting go of hostages and Palestinian prisoners. However, there are reports that have already been turned down by Hamas. They want a ceasefire that will last indefinitely.

  • Explosives kill nine people at Gaza as combat rages – UN reports

Explosives kill nine people at Gaza as combat rages – UN reports

Nine people died and many others were hurt in explosions at a UN building where refugees live in Khan Younis. This was reported by the UN agency that helps people in Gaza.

UNRWA reported that a college in the western part of the city was hit by two tank shells. Around 800 people were staying there for shelter.

Israel has not said anything about the explosions, but they mentioned that their soldiers were in the nearby area.

The soldiers have surrounded the city and told over 500,000 people to leave.

UNRWA director Thomas White said on Twitter that the center was hit during fighting and many people were seriously hurt.

He said to CNN that there were explosions at a building where carpentry work is done. This happened after two days of fighting near the center, when UN workers couldn’t reach the building.

We are always talking to the Israeli army, who have promised to keep people in safe places protected. “They are secure,” he said.

“People have died at or near these places in the past few days. ”

There is intense fighting in southern Gaza, including in a crowded refugee camp near the UNWRA training college in Khan Younis.

The Israeli military said its forces are in the western part of the camp and have started operating inside it.

It was said that they were moving around western Khan Younis as part of a plan to take apart Hamas’ military system.

“The operation will keep targeting the military sites, bases, buildings, and leadership centers in the area,” it stated, also mentioning that Hamas took advantage of the crowded area, including its shelters and hospitals.

The Gaza health ministry, run by Hamas, reported that over 200 Palestinians were killed in the last day in some of the most intense fighting during the Israeli campaign to get rid of Hamas.

Israel went into Gaza after Hamas attacked and killed many people in Israel.

There was strong fighting near hospitals in Khan Younis, including Al-Aqsa, Nasser and Al-Amal. Palestinians were trying to escape, according to OCHA, a UN agency in Gaza.

OCHA said that because of the ongoing bombings, nobody can go in or out of Nasser Hospital. The medics also said that staff at the hospital are digging graves there because they expect a lot of people to die.

On Tuesday, Israel’s army ordered people to leave part of Khan Younis, where 500,000 people live. Most of them are refugees from other parts of Gaza.

Many countries have asked Israel to stop bombing the area for several months.

The leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said again that Israel will keep fighting in Gaza until Hamas is removed from power and the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas on 7 October are returned.
A person who was not in the military and was carrying a white flag was killed by being shot.

A person with a camera from the UK’s ITV News recorded a video of a Palestinian civilian getting killed on a street about 1. 7km (1 mile) south of the UNRWA shelter on Monday.

Five men were walking towards a dangerous area with a white flag. Then, there was a sudden gunfire and one of them got shot and fell to the ground. It was not clear who started shooting.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was asked in the British parliament if seeing those pictures would make him want to work towards stopping the fighting in Gaza.

He said: “Nobody wants this fight to continue any longer than it has to, and we want to see a quick and lasting break for helping people. ”

On Tuesday morning, a leader from Palestine who knows about the current discussions in Cairo told the BBC that Egyptian negotiators have suggested a new plan to Hamas to end the war.

The official wants to start a new plan with a temporary peace to help people in need, in return for letting Israeli civilians go free from Hamas.

One big issue is when Israeli soldiers will leave Gaza.

Egypt’s president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, says that Israel is purposely delaying aid at the Rafah border crossing into Gaza to make things harder for Hamas.

He said to a group of military and government officials that because Israeli inspections take a long time, only a third of the usual number of trucks carrying aid were able to go into the area.

Israel says inspections are needed to make sure no weapons get to Hamas.

  • Numerous deaths reported as fighting rages in Khan Younis, Gaza

Numerous deaths reported as fighting rages in Khan Younis, Gaza

Many people were killed in strong Israeli attacks in Khan Younis in Gaza. There are fights between soldiers and Hamas fighters on the ground.

The people who live here said big military machines are all around a hospital and school where lots of homeless people are staying.

Ambulances couldn’t get to the injured people because they were stuck.

Israeli soldiers have been paying special attention to Khan Younis because they believe that important Hamas leaders are hiding there.

On Sunday, the Israeli military found a hidden place underground in the city. They think about 20 Israeli hostages were kept there.

In Israel, families of hostages interrupted a meeting to ask the government to help get their loved ones back.

A family member yelled, “We won’t stop until our kids are home. ”

The US, Qatar, and Egypt are trying to help, but Hamas wants Israel to stop fighting and leave before they release the hostages.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said no to the deal because he thinks it would be giving in to bad people and would mean that soldiers who died in war did so for no reason.

On Monday evening, the US news website Axios reported that two US officials said Israel offered a deal to Hamas. The deal included a two-month break from fighting in exchange for releasing all remaining hostages in Gaza.

Hamas fighters held about 250 people captive and killed 1,300 others in a surprise attack on southern Israel, according to Israeli officials.

The Israeli military attacked Gaza and more than 25,295 people have died, according to the health ministry in Gaza. More people are thought to have died under the collapsed buildings.

On Monday, Israeli tanks moved into the western part of Khan Younis and surrounded the city’s two main hospitals after a night of heavy bombing.

The Red Crescent in Palestine says that Israeli forces have surrounded the area where they run a hospital and their headquarters. They are worried about the safety of their staff, patients, and civilians in the area.

The place is very unsafe now. “They can hear loud bombs in the area,” said Nebal Farsakh on Al Jazeera TV. “Anyone who tries to leave or go outside is at risk of being targeted. ”

She said that PRCS ambulances were stuck and couldn’t help injured people in the area. Also, a communication problem meant that staff could only talk to each other using VHF radios.

There was smoke and gun sounds near Nasser Hospital, which is the biggest hospital still in use in Gaza.

The hospital’s surgical director in Palestinian media said they got 50 dead and over 100 injured since last night.

Gaza’s health department said many people were killed or hurt near Khan Younis on Monday. They had to bury 40 bodies at Nasser Hospital because it wasn’t safe outside.

A doctor at the hospital’s emergency department told Reuters that the hospital was facing too many patients and was in danger of collapsing.

Ahmed Abu Mustafa said it’s really hard to bring medical supplies to the hospital, and it’s hard to keep treating the patients because of the attacks on the nearby neighborhoods. He also said there are no painkillers, anaesthesia, or other medical supplies available.

A spokesperson from the health ministry said that Israeli soldiers went into the al-Khair Hospital in the al-Mawasi area, which is west of Khan Younis.

On Monday, a spokesperson from the White House National Security Council said that Israel must do everything it can to keep innocent people in Gaza hospitals safe, according to international law.

The Israeli military has not said anything yet about the reports from the three hospitals. But, it has said before that Hamas is working near medical buildings, but Hamas says it’s not true.

  • Baby born via caesarean section after mother killed by Israeli artillery

Baby born via caesarean section after mother killed by Israeli artillery

A baby was born by C-section after its mother died in an Israeli bombing in Gaza.

The doctors quickly tried to help the child after its mom, Hanadi Abu Amsha, died from her injuries.

The baby is getting special care in the intensive care unit at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah city.

Officials said the child was orphaned before it was even born because its whole family is thought to have been killed.

UNICEF said that Gaza is the most dangerous place for children because of the fighting between Israel and Palestinians.

After coming back from the Strip, Ted Chaiban, who is the deputy executive director, said that the situation there has become very bad.

UNICEF said that the Gaza Strip is the most dangerous place for children in the world. “We have said that this is a fight against children,” he said.

However, it seems like people are not understanding these truths. Almost 25,000 people have been killed in Gaza. About 70% of them are women and children.

  • 24 troops said to have died in Gaza in a single day – Israeli Defense Forces

24 troops said to have died in Gaza in a single day – Israeli Defense Forces

The Israeli army says 24 of its soldiers died in Gaza on Monday – it was the worst day for Israeli forces since they started their ground operation.

Twenty-one part-time soldiers died in a big blast.

The main speaker for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Daniel Hagari, said that they believe a rocket-propelled grenade fired by Palestinian fighters hit a tank near two buildings where they were.

He said the buildings were likely blown up by mines that Israeli forces had put there to destroy them.

The IDF is still looking into what happened to find out more information.

The soldiers were killed in central Gaza near Kissufim kibbutz on the Israeli border at about 4:00 pm on Monday, Rear Admiral Hagari said.

He said they were working to help people from southern Israel go back to their homes safely after lots of people had to leave because of the Hamas attack on 7 October.

On Monday, Israel’s military said three officers were killed in a different attack in southern Gaza.

Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu said that Monday was a really hard day because a lot of people died since the war started.

“We will keep fighting until we win, for the sake of our lives and our heroes,” he wrote on X, a social media platform.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that he had a very hard time this morning when he found out how many people had died.

“I want to comfort the families and pray for the injured to get better,” he said, speaking for the whole country.

Israel started the war to get rid of Hamas because a lot of their fighters killed 1,300 people, mostly innocent people, and also took around 250 others as hostages in a very surprising and strong attack.

The IDF website says that 217 soldiers have died since Israel started its ground invasion on 27 October. This is part of a total of 545 people who have died since 7th October.

At least 25,295 people, mostly women and children, have been killed by the Israeli military in Gaza, according to the health ministry run by Hamas.

  • Israeli parent worries his hostage daughter was molested

Israeli parent worries his hostage daughter was molested

The father of an Israeli captive in Gaza is worried that his 18-year-old daughter may have been hurt by her captors.

Eli Albag told the media that he believed the people who were freed from being hostages with his daughter Liri knew something about what happened, but they didn’t tell him to protect his feelings.

He said the pain was making him feel really bad and he felt like he was barely alive. He could only keep going by taking medicine.

Israel says they cannot find over 130 people who were taken away during the attacks by Hamas on October 7th. Over 100 prisoners were set free when fighting stopped for six days in late November.

Some former captives say they were informed by other female captives that they were sexually attacked. Doctors told the Associated Press that 10 people who were let go were attacked or mistreated.

Mr Albag and three other family members of hostages have come to London to ask the UK Government to push Qatar to release the hostages. Qatar is involved in negotiations to release the hostages but also supports Hamas leaders.

They want the Gulf state to decide if it still wants to have Hamas there or if it wants to be part of Western culture.

Mr Albag says Liri is his youngest daughter. She is very happy, loves music, likes to dance, and has friends all over the world.

He says he’s tough, but he can’t sleep and has trouble talking because he’s worried about what might be happening to her.

“The family is falling apart. She has two sisters and a little brother. We haven’t been living together since October 7th,” he explains. In the morning, I am awake and alive. At night, I go to sleep and I am not awake or alive. Every This is what’s happened to us all the time, day and night.

He was told by the hostages that his daughter was alive and okay after 50 days of being held captive. They were living in a tunnel with no food, water, fresh air, or electricity. He says she couldn’t take a shower the whole time.

We hope she comes back to us in good shape.

“We are worried because some girls were attacked sexually by others and they have not been released. ”

Liri’s dad said there are young women between 18 and 30 who have not been let go.

He said the ex-hostages didn’t answer his tough questions about sexual abuse and looked away.

I know they don’t want to discuss this because they don’t want to upset us. But we get it. “We understand very well,” he says.

“It’s hard to say and hard to think, but I’m worried that they have done something bad to these girls. ” I don’t know what they are saying, and I don’t know what these animals are doing.

It’s been more than three months since the hostages were taken, and now there is another important problem.

Due to worries that some people may have been sexually assaulted, it might be too late to end any pregnancies that they don’t want.

Mr Albag is scared and knows that time is running out to fix the problem.

On Monday, later in the day, four Israelis went to a meeting hosted by Conservative Friends of Israel. Eli Albag gave UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak a dog tag that said “Bring them home”.

Another one of the four, Liran Berman, whose brothers Gali and Ziv are still being kept against their will, explained what they wanted to say to the people from Qatar.

He said Qatar is very important. “They are welcoming the leaders of Hamas and also spending money on Western culture, purchasing football teams and properties in London, Europe, and the US. ”

“They have to pick a team. ” If they want to join Western culture, that’s fine, but they can’t let Hamas leaders stay there.

A Qatari leader said sorry to the families of the hostages. They are still talking to everyone involved and trying hard to bring the hostages back home and stop the war.

“Qatar has been trying very hard to free the hostages and stop more violence since the crisis started,” the official said.

“This involves using its way of talking with Hamas, which was set up over ten years ago with the help of the United States. ”

“Right now, 109 people who were held captive in Gaza have been set free because of these actions. Also, last week, Qatar helped make a deal to bring medicine to the hostages and send help to the people living in Gaza. “

  • Israel-Gaza: Netanyahu challenges Biden regarding state of Palestine

Israel-Gaza: Netanyahu challenges Biden regarding state of Palestine

Israel’s leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, said no to the idea of making a Palestinian country once more.

He made these comments a few hours after talking on the phone with US President Joe Biden. The US leader said that Mr. Netanyahu might agree with the idea.

Mr Netanyahu’s comments seemed to make the differences between the US and Israel even bigger.

The US thinks it’s important for there to be a Palestinian country next to Israel for things to be stable in the long run. It’s called a “two-state solution. ”

However, the White House admitted that the US and Israeli governments have different views.

Talking to reporters after the two leaders talked for the first time in almost a month, Mr. Biden said that he still thinks it’s possible for there to be two separate countries in that area even with Mr. Netanyahu as the leader.

“There are several ways to solve a problem with two options. ” Several countries are part of the UN and. “He said some countries don’t have their own armies. ”

On Saturday, Mr. Netanyahu stuck to his position, which he has had for a long time and repeated earlier this week.

A message from his office said that Prime Minister Netanyahu told President Biden that Israel wants to keep control of Gaza after Hamas is defeated, to make sure it won’t be a danger to Israel anymore. But this goes against the Palestinians’ request to have their own country.

On Saturday, he said that Israel should have control over the area west of the Jordan River for security reasons. This area includes the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps was not happy with what Mr. Netanyahu said on Sunday. He said it was not a surprise, but still disappointing.

Some people may feel less hopeful that the Gaza crisis will lead to Israeli and Palestinian leaders talking and starting the peace process again.

Mr Netanyahu is getting more and more alone in other countries. At home, people still support the war, but there are also protests about the 130 hostages in Gaza held by Hamas.

Hamas attacked southern Israel on 7 October and killed about 1,300 people, mostly civilians. They also took 240 hostages.

Many people protested in Tel Aviv, asking Mr. Netanyahu to make a peace agreement to bring back the missing people.

Dear Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, My cousin was captured on 7 October. We believe that you can bring them back. From, Gil Dickmann We trust in you.

We believe you can agree to this agreement and help win for all the people in Israel. Just go ahead and do it, Bibi. Just go ahead and do whatever it is. “Bring the people who were taken captive, back to their homes. ”

Israeli soldiers are still moving into the southern part of Gaza. They are looking for important members of Hamas who they think are hiding in Khan Younis, which is the second largest city in the area.

The Israel army went into a tunnel in Khan Younis and found out that it was used to keep hostages, but the hostages were not there when they looked.

The fighting is mainly in southern Gaza, but there have also been new fights in the northern town of Jabalia. Palestinian fighters moved forward while Israel tried to move its soldiers and tanks south.

It’s been almost three months since Israel started sending troops into Gaza. Even though Israel’s army is much stronger than Hamas, they are still meeting strong resistance in Gaza.

The health ministry in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, said on Sunday that 25,105 people had died in the area since 7 October. More than 60,000 people were also hurt, according to the report.

  • 25,000 people have died in Gaza since the start of Israeli-Hamas offensive – Hamas-run health ministry

25,000 people have died in Gaza since the start of Israeli-Hamas offensive – Hamas-run health ministry

Over 25,000 people have died in Gaza because of Israel’s attack, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
It was reported that 178 people died in the last day, which makes it one of the deadliest days in the war.

As the fighting kept happening, Israel’s leader Benjamin Netanyahu said no to making a country for the Palestinians.

The White House said that the US and Israel have different views on a two-state solution.

Israel started attacking after an incident on October 7th, when Hamas fighters killed 1,300 people in southern Israel and took over 240 people as hostages.

Hamas said the attack in October was necessary to fight against Israel and to free Palestinian prisoners.

Israel is concentrating its air and ground operation in southern Gaza, where they believe top leaders of Hamas are hiding in or under the city of Khan Younis.

The Israel Defense Forces found a long tunnel with traps and doors in it. It was about 830m (2,700ft) long.

The IDF video showed a tunnel with beds and rooms inside. Israel thinks about 20 people, including kids, were kept there at different times. No one was found when the tunnel was discovered.

Israeli soldiers are being attacked again in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Hamas has taken control of an area near the town of Jabalia while Israel has sent troops and tanks south.

For over three months, Israel has been facing strong opposition from Gaza, even though their army is much stronger than Hamas’s.

According to US intelligence agencies, the Israeli military has killed about one-fifth to one-third of Hamas fighters. However, this is much less than what Mr. Netanyahu wanted, which was to completely destroy the armed group.

The secret report also says that Hamas still has enough weapons to keep attacking Israel and Israeli forces for several months. This could lead to a long war where Israel could get stuck.

The slow progress in capturing or killing top Hamas leaders, and the 130 Israeli hostages still missing, is making people in Israel more and more angry at the government.

Families of people held by Hamas are protesting and asking Mr Netanyahu to focus on getting their loved ones released instead of trying to destroy Hamas, which may be very difficult. A small group of people who are against war are showing how upset they are about the large amount of destruction caused in Gaza by a very intense and damaging military attack.

Many Israelis support their flag, but most don’t support their prime minister. A recent poll shows that only 15% of the public think the prime minister should remain in office after the war.

Mr Netanyahu and Israel’s allies disagree on how it will end. The Israeli leader said no to a future country for the Palestinians again after talking to the US president for the first time in almost a month.

In a message on X (formerly Twitter), he said that Israel should keep “security control over the whole area to the west of the Jordan River”, including the occupied West Bank territory.

Mr Netanyahu has always strongly disagreed with the idea of a Palestinian state during his time in politics. The prime minister keeps saying the same thing over and over again, even though most people don’t agree with him. He thinks most people in the country don’t want a separate country for Palestinians because they are too upset about the attacks.

He seems to be trying to stay in power, but his efforts are making Israel’s friends very frustrated. They want the violence to make both sides talk and find a way to have two separate countries that can survive.

UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said on the BBC that he was not happy with Mr. Netanyahu’s position The White House and Israel have different views.

Antonio Guterres, the leader of the United Nations, said it is not okay to reject a Palestinian state. He said it would make the fight last longer and be a big problem for the world’s peace and safety.

  • Leading Israeli military officer confronts Netanyahu on Gaza policy

Leading Israeli military officer confronts Netanyahu on Gaza policy

A key figure in Israel’s military leadership is alleging that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not accurately portraying the country’s objectives in Gaza.

Gadi Eisenkot, whose son died in Gaza, said people who want to completely defeat Hamas are not telling the truth. This comes after Mr Netanyahu said the US proposal for a future Palestinian state is not good and the fighting will continue until they win completely.

The former general said that Mr Netanyahu is partly to blame for not keeping the country safe on 7 October. He thinks there should be new elections because people don’t trust the current leaders.

Hamas attacked southern Israel and killed about 1,300 people. They also took 240 hostages.

There is disagreement among the government leaders, as the prime minister and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant are not talking to each other. This is happening while Israel is having more and more problems with its Western allies.

After Netanyahu talked about the Palestinian state, John Kirby, who works for the White House, said that the United States and Israel have different views on the issue.

Mr Kirby said that we can’t solve Israel’s security problems without a Palestinian state.

But it’s not surprising that Mr. Netanyahu said what he did.

Throughout his career, he has opposed the idea of a Palestinian state and recently said that he was proud to have stopped it from happening.

The Biden Administration is facing criticism again, which will make people feel like he is becoming more and more isolated from other countries. The number of deaths in Gaza is getting close to 25,000, according to the health ministry run by Hamas.

The US has tried many times to change the way Israel fights in this war. They want Israel to use more precise attacks in Gaza instead of just bombing everything. They also want Israel to hold off on sending troops into Gaza or to not do it at all. The US also wants to talk about having two separate countries – Israel and a future Palestine. The Palestinian Authority would also have a say in this.

Mr Netanyahu often says no to requests from US officials in meetings, which makes some Americans more frustrated with President Biden’s strong support for Israel.

Israel’s friends want to bring back the two-state plan in the hope of making peace, despite all the death in the conflict.

Mr Netanyahu wants something different than what he seems to be saying. He probably wants a position that would be more in line with Donald Trump’s future administration. He may have said this to give his supporters in the US something to be excited about during an election year.

In Israel, the prime minister, who is not liked by many people, is relying more on the far-right to support his government.

A new survey showed that only 15% of Israelis want him to stay in his job after the war.

Most Israelis still want to use the army against Hamas, but now more people want to focus on getting the remaining hostages back instead of trying to completely destroy Hamas.

His recent remarks about a future Palestinian state also show that he does not support Arab efforts to help solve the conflict.

Saudi Arabia offered him the chance to make peace with Israel and reach a deal that would create two separate states.

Israel’s leader has put all his effort into staying in power by taking a tough stance against the Palestinian people.

He can no longer pretend to be very good at keeping people safe after the worst attacks in Israel’s history happened while he was in charge.

Now it’s “Mr No Independent Palestine”: he thinks this matches how the public feels. They are not happy with their prime minister and are too upset to think about having a Palestinian state nearby.

  • Gaza War was catalyst for radicalization – UK police

Gaza War was catalyst for radicalization – UK police

The war between Israel and Gaza has made more people in the UK support terrorism, according to the head of counter-terrorism police.

Matt Jukes said that there is a lot of online comments that are not true and are being spread by fake images, which is causing a big problem.

He said the conflict had a similar effect as the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

33 people have been arrested for terrorism related to Israel-Gaza.

These are people who are taken by the police because of things they said or wrote during protests. Police didn’t say if they found any plans for a terror attack.

The government thinks a terrorism attack is likely, but not certain.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Matt Jukes told reporters that a counter-terrorism unit has received 3,000 reports of suspicious activity online.

700 people had been found to have a connection to the UK, and they might have been breaking the law. A few kids, some as young as 11 and 12, were having worrisome talks.

“Matt Jukes said that all the stuff online is creating a dangerous atmosphere. ” It had caused a big change in people’s thinking, possibly leading them towards terrorism.

“He said this is not just empty talk, we are seeing clear signs of a big danger. ”

In 2023, more people were referred to the government’s Prevent program, which tries to stop radicalization and help those at risk. The number of referrals went up by 13%.

Mr Jukes said that terrorist attacks might not happen right away and that becoming radicalized can take a long time.

He said, “When I sit in my seat, I see that some things are not going well. ”

Detectives are most worried about the possibility of an attack from one person who might be unstable and have mental health issues.

Unit that deals with crimes committed during wars.

A group of over 20 officers is focused on looking into possible war crimes, including claims about Israel-Gaza.

This has gotten 92 people talking about the conflict, with 73 of them being against Israel and 19 against Hamas. Research is still in the early stages of review.

The police are being criticized for using their time and money to investigate serious crimes like torture, genocide, and other human rights violations.

However, high-ranking officers say that out of every £100 spent on counter-terrorism policing, only 30p is used to investigate war crimes.

Mr Jukes said that we should not let the UK be a safe place for people who have committed crimes during a war.

High-ranking officials also state that the UK must help the International Criminal Court and investigate the deaths of British people.

Detectives have a problem because they might get some evidence that war crimes happened, but no one saw it happen.

Information usually comes from law firms, charities, and people involved in a conflict.

    Unfriendly countries

The counter-terrorism team is also facing a greater danger from unfriendly countries, mostly Russia, Iran, and China.

An Austrian man named Magomed-Husejn Dovtaev was sent to prison for three years. He was caught by security guards doing suspicious activities at an Iranian media company in Chiswick, London. The media company had received threats because of its reporting on Iran.

The police are worried that other countries are hiring criminals in the UK to do illegal things. This is because criminal groups can easily work in different countries and transport weapons.

A new team has been created to stop unfriendly countries from causing harm. They work closely with the security and secret intelligence services, MI5 and MI6.

  • Israel Gaza war: Deal to deliver aid to Gaza, including hostages

Israel Gaza war: Deal to deliver aid to Gaza, including hostages

Israel and Hamas have agreed to let more help go into the damaged Gaza. Qatar helped in the making of the agreement.

They say that Hamas will give medicine to hostages with the help of Qatar and France.

In return, Israel will let more necessary things go into Gaza. The situation in the area is very bad because of three months of Israeli bombing.

The US is hopeful that more discussions could help release more hostages.

The person from the US who deals with the Middle East went to Qatar to talk about making a deal. This was mentioned by John Kirby, who works for the White House and deals with national security.

He said the conversations were “very serious and focused”. “We hope it will be successful and happen soon. ”

Hamas took people from Israel as hostages.

Before, a person from Qatar’s government named Majed Al Ansari said that an agreement about help was made.

According to the agreement, the aid items will be sent from the city of Doha in Qatar to Egypt on Wednesday. The help will be sent to Gaza to help the people who live there, and medicines will be given to Israeli prisoners.

Over 132 people are believed to still be held captive in Gaza.

Hamas caught about 240 people in a series of attacks in southern Israel on 7 October. Around 1,300 people, most of them regular people, died.

The Hostages Families HQ group wrote a letter to Israel’s war cabinet. They said that many people who had been kidnapped needed to see a doctor regularly and some were in danger right now. This was after a ceasefire ended last year.

Last week, the leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that the head of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, David Barnea, asked Qatar to make a deal to provide the medicines Israel needs.

On Tuesday, Mr. Netanyahu said thank you to everyone who helped.

The fighting between Hamas and Israel in October led to a lot of bombings in Gaza. More than 24,000 people have died, most of them are women and children, according to the health ministry in Gaza.

Officials from Palestine say that 85% of the people in Gaza have been forced to leave their homes. More help is reaching Gaza now, but the UN’s humanitarian boss says the situation there is very bad.

Many countries want Israel to stop fighting in Gaza because many innocent people are getting hurt.

Even the US, which is a strong supporter of Israel, has told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that too many innocent civilians are being killed.

US State Secretary Anthony Blinken said that 90% of the people are still struggling to get enough food. This is especially harmful for children and can affect them for their whole life.

“Gaza needs more food, water, medicine, and other important things. “

Israelis in far south Hostages receive medicine as Gaza strikes

People who live in Khan Younis in southern Gaza say they experienced a very heavy night of air strikes, which was one of the worst since Israel’s offensive began.

Videos showed fire in the sky and loud sounds of bombs and gunfire in the city.

Families who were forced to leave their homes because of the fighting are now running away from a nearby hospital.

At the same time, Hamas is sending medicines for Israeli hostages. In return, they are getting more aid for Palestinian civilians in a deal mediated by Qatar.

The White House says Qatar has been having important talks about a possible new release of hostages. A US representative was also involved in the discussions.

Yasser Zaqzouq, who is staying at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis with his family, said this is the biggest noise from fighting [between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters] he has ever heard.

“We never saw air strikes like this before. ” We were very afraid. All the children were yelling and crying.

Tariq Dahlan, a reporter from the area, said: “People who have been forced to leave their homes are very scared and worried at the hospital. “

“People are fleeing to the West, but they don’t know where they’re going or what will happen to them. “

It was said that Israeli tanks were very close to the hospital.

The Jordanian army’s hospital in Khan Younis was really damaged by Israeli shelling on Wednesday. The Jordanian army said that Israel broke the rules of international law.

The UN says that the war has forced most of the people in Gaza to leave their homes and live in crowded shelters where it’s hard to get things they need.

A group of UN experts said in a statement that everyone in Gaza is hungry, a quarter of the people are starving and having trouble finding food and clean water, and there may be a famine soon.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, said that Israel’s military operations against Hamas in the southern area of Gaza, including Khan Younis, will be ending soon. It is believed that leaders of the armed group may be hiding there.

He said the military started using more focused attacks in the northern area where they began their ground attack.

But now, some people from Gaza are thinking again about going back home because they saw that Israeli tanks have comeback to some areas in the north.

Israeli army leaders have said many times that the fighting will keep going for months.

Qatar is sending medicine from Doha, Qatar to El-Arish in northern Egypt. It will then be taken to Gaza. This is part of a deal Qatar made between Israel and Hamas.

The plan had been announced before, but it got stuck because of problems with organizing everything.

It’s not known how the medications will be given to about 45 of over 100 Israeli hostages who are sick and need life-saving drugs.

The Israeli prime minister’s office said that people from Qatar in Gaza will be involved, and the Red Cross may also have a role.

The deal also includes a big increase in medicine for Palestinians.

On Tuesday, the White House spokesman, John Kirby said that they are hopeful that a new deal to free the hostages could be made soon.

Qatar and Egypt, who are important negotiators, have made plans to have them released if the fighting stops.

Leading Palestinian ambassador accuses UK of being hypocritical

The Palestinians’ representative in the UK said the government is being unfair and hypocritical in the way it treats them.

Husam Zomlot said bad things about PM Rishi Sunak for not supporting a request to take Israel to court for war crimes in Gaza.

He said that the UK’s reputation was hurt in the Middle East.

But he was glad that the government decided to stop violent Israeli settlers from coming to the UK.

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that people who live in Israel and have been attacking Palestinians will not be allowed to enter the country. The decision came after the US said they were planning to do the same thing.

“MrZomlot said he is happy about it. ” “In my opinion, that was a very important moment. It’s not about the policy itself, but it’s the first time in 75 years that the UK has taken any action related to sanctions on Israel. ”

Recently, there has been more violence from settlers, especially after the big attacks by Hamas on Israel on 7 October and the Israeli military campaign in Gaza.

Around 700,000 Jewish people live in about 140 communities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. These areas have been taken over by Israel since the 1967 Middle East war, but Palestinians want them to be part of their own country in the future.

Most countries think the settlements are illegal, but Israel disagrees.

Mr Zomlot disagreed with a law that stops public organizations from refusing to do business with Israel or Israeli settlements. The bill got approved in the House of Commons last week and now it will be sent to the House of Lords.

“This is the contradiction,” Mr Zomlot said at a meeting with reporters in London. Where are you in the UK. Do you think Israel taking over the 1967 borders is a military occupation and colonization.

“The UK policy is so inconsistent that I. ” I don’t know the UK’s policy on Palestine anymore. If you ask me, I don’t understand it. Unreliable, conflicting

Mr Zomlot, the leader of the Palestinian group in the UK, criticized Prime Minister Sunak for not supporting South Africa’s case against Israel for genocide at the International Court of Justice.

The ICJ started listening to the case last week.

A spokesperson for the prime minister said Mr Sunak thought the accusation was completely unfair and incorrect.

“The UK government supports Israel’s right to protect itself under international law,” the spokesperson stated.

MrZomlot said that the UK’s disagreement with South Africa’s claim of genocide is like the UK acting as judge of the world and getting involved where it shouldn’t.

He said that the UK was being unfair and hypocritical in its treatment of Israel and international law.

The envoy said that Israel is causing a big humanitarian problem in Gaza and asked the world to make them stop fighting.

He said that stopping the fighting right away is the most important thing. “This is still our most important priority. ”

Israel has bombed Gaza and killed about 24,000 people, mostly women and children. This information comes from the health ministry in Gaza, which is run by Hamas. Israel started a war to destroy Hamas because the group had killed 1,300 people, mainly civilians, and took 240 others as hostages in their attack on Israel.

“Rafah is getting very crowded because a lot of Palestinian families who have been forced to leave their homes have been arriving in the area,” he said.

Medicine to be provided to hostages in Gaza – Israeli

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a new deal will help get medicine to Israeli captives held by Hamas in Gaza.

CBS News says that after some families of hostage visited Qatar, they told the mediators that their loved ones needed important medicine.

The medicine has not been sent yet, and we don’t know how it will be moved.

Israel thinks there are about 105 people being kept against their will in Gaza.

About 240 people were captured by Hamas in October, but later on 105 people were let go during a six-day ceasefire in November. It’s thought that at least 25 of the captives have died.

Both Hamas and Israel have agreed to let the medicine reach the captives, according to a diplomatic source quoted by CBS News, a partner of the BBC.

Mediators are helping both sides and international organizations figure out what medicines are needed, how many are needed, and how they can be delivered.

The Israeli prime minister’s office said on Friday that the medicine will arrive in a few days.

The statement also said that the agreement was made after David Barnea, who is the leader of Israel’s national intelligence agency Mossad, talked to Qatar.

A Palestinian leader told the BBC that they are talking about sending medical help to Gaza, including for the Israeli captives there.

In a letter to the Israeli war leaders, the Hostages Families HQ group said they have good information that some abducted people are in worse condition and in danger.

They said that at least 33% of the hostages were sick and needed to see a doctor regularly. Not seeing a doctor could be very harmful.

Since the attacks on October 7th, over 23,350 people, mostly children and women, have been killed in Gaza. This happened during Israel’s military response to the attacks, according to the health ministry run by Hamas.

  • Israel claims charge of genocide is untrue

Israel claims charge of genocide is untrue

Israel has said that South Africa is not telling the truth in its case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. South Africa is accusing Israel of committing genocide.

South Africa gave a big description of what could have happened differently in the Israel-Palestinian conflict, according to Israeli lawyer Tal Becker.

South Africa accuses Israel of killing many Palestinians in the fighting in Gaza.

It also wants the court to make Israel stop its military action.

The ICJ is the top court of the United Nations. The decisions of the ICJ are supposed to be followed by countries like Israel and South Africa, but they cannot be forced to follow them.

Israel is presenting its argument to the court one day after South Africa did.

On Thursday, there was fighting outside the court in The Hague, Netherlands between Palestinian and Israeli supporters. Police tried to keep them apart.

Many people with flags from Palestine gathered outside the Peace Palace, shouting for the fighting to stop. Israeli supporters put up a screen to show pictures of more than 130 hostages still in Gaza.

South Africa says Israel is breaking a promise to stop genocide. Both countries agreed to this promise in 1949.

Israel has been fighting against Hamas, the group that runs Gaza, since October 7th. This was because hundreds of Hamas fighters attacked Israel, killing around 1,300 people and taking about 240 others as hostages back to Gaza.

The health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, says that over 23,350 people, mostly women and children, have been killed by Israel in the war.

In the beginning of the trial, Tal Becker said that even though it’s sad that civilians are suffering, Hamas is trying to hurt both Israelis and Palestinians, while Israel is trying to protect them.

He said that South Africa has given the court a very wrong and misleading picture of the facts and the law. Their whole case relies on a purposely selected, taken out of context, and manipulative description of the current fighting.

On Thursday, 17 judges in the court listened to lawyer Tembeka Ngcukaitobi from South Africa. He said Israel’s intentions to commit genocide were clear from the way they were conducting their military attacks.

Israel had a plan to “destroy” Gaza, he said, which “has been nurtured at the highest level of state”. Israel planned to “destroy” Gaza, and he said it was a plan made by the state’s highest leaders.

Adila Hassim, who is from South Africa, told the court that the Palestinian people are suffering every day. They are losing their lives, homes, dignity, and humanity.

“Only a court order can make the suffering stop. ”

South Africa said that Israel’s actions are meant to destroy a large part of the Palestinian people.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, criticized South Africa for not speaking out against the terrible things happening in Syria and Yemen that are being done by people who work with Hamas. He said South Africa is being hypocritical.

“Today everything was upside-down. ” Israel is being accused of killing lots of people, but they say they are fighting against killing lots of people.

A representative for UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that Mr. Sunak thinks that South Africa’s case is completely unfair and incorrect.

“The UK government supports Israel’s right to defend itself according to international law,” he said.

The ICJ’s decision on the genocide accusation will just be a point of view, but a lot of people are paying close attention to it.

It may take a long time for a decision to be made, but the court may decide quickly on whether Israel should stop its military actions in response to South Africa’s request.

Israel’s top leaders want to “destroy” Gaza, according to the highest level of government, as the UN’s top court has been told.

South African lawyers said that Israel is killing many people and they are taking their case to the International Court of Justice.

South Africa wants the court to tell Israel to stop its fighting in Gaza.

Israel will present its defence on Friday and has strongly denied the accusations as being without evidence.

The court will only give its opinion on the genocide allegation and many people are paying attention to it.

Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, a lawyer in South Africa, said that Israel’s intention to commit genocide is clear from the way they are conducting their military attack.

“He said that the plan to destroy Gaza has been supported by the top leaders of the country. ”

Adila Hassim from South Africa said that every day the Palestinian people are facing a lot of loss, including lives, homes, respect, and their basic rights.

“Only a decision from this court can make the suffering stop. ”

South Africa said that Israel’s actions were meant to destroy many Palestinian people.

Israel will show how it defends itself on Friday. It has said before that it is justified in attacking the Gaza Strip because it is responding to Hamas’s deadly attacks on 7 October.

On Thursday, South Africa’s Justice Minister Ronald Lamola said that no attack can justify breaking the Genocide Convention.

Israel has agreed to the Genocide Convention of 1948. This agreement means they promise to stop genocide and take action to prevent it from happening.

On Thursday, a spokesperson for Israel’s foreign ministry, Lior Haiat, said that South Africa’s case has completely twisted the truth about what’s happening in Gaza. He said that Hamas attackers have entered Israel and killed, executed, massacred, raped, and kidnapped Israeli citizens.

He said Israel will keep its people safe under the rules of the world, while telling the difference between Hamas fighters and regular people.

The ICJ is the top court of the United Nations, located in The Hague in the Netherlands. The decisions of the ICJ are supposed to be followed by countries like Israel and South Africa, but they cannot be forced to follow them.

In 2022, the court told Russia to stop fighting in Ukraine right away, but they didn’t listen.

According to the law, genocide means doing something on purpose to destroy a group of people because of their nationality, race, or religion.

There were fights outside the Peace Palace, where the ICJ is, as police tried to separate Palestinian and Israeli supporters.

Many people holding Palestinian flags came to the ICJ and asked for a stop to the fighting. Israeli supporters put up a big TV to show pictures of the people still being kept captive in Gaza.

The police put red and white tape outside the ICJ to try to make the chaotic scenes outside more organized.

Inside the court, the Israeli delegation is listening to South Africa’s lawyers accuse the country’s forces of committing genocide in Gaza, which is very different from the formal atmosphere in the court.

Israel’s group will talk about their right to protect themselves under the law. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel does not plan to kick out the people of Gaza or take over the land forever.

The ICJ can’t punish people for genocide, like the ICC can, but its decisions are important to the UN and other global groups.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Wednesday that South Africa is taking action against the killing of people in Gaza by going to the ICJ.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said the accusations were terrible and ridiculous.

“We will go to the International Court of Justice and proudly present our case for using self-defense under humanitarian law,” he said.

He said that the Israeli army is doing their best in difficult situations to avoid any unintended harm to civilians.

The ICJ may make a quick decision on whether Israel should stop its military campaign in South Africa’s request. But it could take a long time for a final decision on whether Israel is committing genocide.

South Africa strongly disagrees with Israel’s military operation in Gaza, and its ruling African National Congress has always supported the Palestinian cause.

It relates its fight against apartheid to the struggle of racial segregation and discrimination in South Africa, which ended with the first democratic elections in 1994.

In Gaza, over 23,350 people, mostly women and children, have been killed since the war started after Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7th. In those attacks, about 1,300 people were killed, mostly innocent people, and about 240 others were taken as hostages.

  • Staff departures at Gaza hospital raised “deep concern”

Staff departures at Gaza hospital raised “deep concern”

UK doctors at the only working hospital in central Gaza are worried about patients and staff because there is more fighting between Israel and Hamas nearby.

Deborah Harrington, a doctor who helps pregnant women at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah with the British charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), said that because of the fighting, fewer staff have been able to work at the hospital for the past two weeks.

She said that around 600 to 700 patients are still being treated at the hospital every day, and many displaced people are staying there or nearby.

“Without enough healthcare staff, it will be a big disaster for people living in Middle Gaza,” said surgeon Nick Maynard to the BBC.

When the BBC asked the Israel Defense Forces about the reports, they said that their forces are 1. 5km (09 miles) away and there is no activity in that area.

Hospitals are specially safeguarded by international laws about humanitarian issues. Every military operation near hospitals needs to make sure that patients, doctors, and other people inside them are kept safe.

On Sunday, MAP and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) said their staff had to leave and stop working because of the Israeli military activity near the al-Aqsa Hospital.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the leader of the World Health Organization (WHO), said that they have heard worrying news about more fighting and people being told to leave near the important al-Aqsa hospital. The facility’s director made more than 600 patients and many health workers leave.

He said that al-Aqsa is the most important hospital in Gaza’s Middle Area and it needs to stay open and safe to help save lives.

“He said we can’t let it get worse. It would be wrong to do that when so many people are hurt and suffering. ”

Mr Maynard, a senior surgeon who worked at al-Aqsa’s surgical unit in Gaza for two weeks, said he and his team were instructed to leave last Friday. He spoke to the BBC from Cairo airport.

I was working on a bad injury from an explosion all day. At 3:00, I finished working and found out there was an attack on the special hospital unit. We were told to leave.

Two more doctors said they were told about something that happened in the ICU. Later, they saw pictures of a bullet in the wall of the ICU building on social media, but they didn’t see the incident happen.

The BBC couldn’t confirm the reports. When they were asked about the incident, the IDF said they did not know about an air strike related to that incident.

Another doctor, James Smith, who works with MAP, is now at al-Aqsa. He told the BBC that he heard gunshots on several days.

“He said that the sound could be heard from about 1km to 2km away and sometimes even in the hospital courtyard. ”

The UN said that there was fighting near the hospital on Tuesday.

The health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, said that 57 people had died and 65 had been injured and taken to al-Aqsa hospital in the last day. They didn’t give any more information.

On Wednesday, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that six people were killed in an Israeli attack on an ambulance near Deir al-Balah. Four people from the PRCS team and two others in the ambulance were killed.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa said that the attack happened near al-Aqsa hospital and a journalist was killed.

The IDF said on Thursday that they checked the information given to them and found that they did not attack the area mentioned. The IDF follows the rules of international law and does everything it can to reduce harm to civilians.

The BBC checked videos from social media that show smoke and gun noises. We couldn’t figure out who was shooting or where it was happening.

Images on social media also showed papers dropped by the IDF, which told people in some neighborhoods that they were in a “dangerous combat zone” and asked them to leave quickly to stay safe. They did not cover the area right next to al-Aqsa hospital.

The BBC asked some doctors about the leaflets, and they said they were told about them but hadn’t seen them.

Sean Casey, a person from the WHO who helps in medical emergencies, went to al-Aqsa hospital last weekend. He said the hospital is very close to needing to be evacuated.

The IDF said that they did not give a specific order to evacuate al-Aqsa.

Harrington said that two nurses who worked at al-Aqsa’s emergency room were killed in the last two weeks because of the fighting. Another staff member, who had already been forced to leave her home, had her house bombed.

Dr Smith stated that a lot of Palestinian healthcare workers feel that it’s not safe for them to return to the hospital.

“Some people I’ve talked to haven’t returned since Friday for sure. ”

He said that he and his colleagues are worried about the people still in the hospital.

“Many patients at the hospital cannot move, including the elderly, people with disabilities, babies in the neonatal unit, and those recovering from surgery. Also, there are many people who have been displaced from their homes living near the hospital. ”

A lot of really bad injuries

Three UK doctors saw very bad injuries and difficult conditions in al-Aqsa hospital.

Mr Maynard said in the surgical unit, we didn’t have water to wash our hands. “We had to use alcohol gel before doing the surgery. ”

“We didn’t have any curtains to cover the patients in the operating rooms, so we had to use makeshift gowns to keep the patients clean and free from germs. ”

“There were only a few medical tools and not many stitches for sewing,” he said.

Dr Harrington remembered working in the emergency room. There were no beds, so we had to take care of patients on the dirty and cold floor.

“At times, the patients were so far away that the oxygen tubing couldn’t reach them. ” We were inserting chest tubes in very unclean conditions, not giving patients any respect.

She said that they often don’t have morphine or other medicine to relieve pain.

“I can’t stop thinking about a child who came in really burned, their hands were clenching. ” Their head was dark like charcoal, but they were still alive and talking. “We didn’t have any morphine,” she said.

“I can’t forget the memory and the smell of being treated on the floor. ”

Dr Smith, a doctor who helps in emergencies, said that a lot of patients came in with very bad injuries like burns, losing body parts, and deep cuts from shrapnel.

We saw people who had lost their limbs in accidents. I saw a one-year-old child who had two arms cut off and the other two were really hurt.

The UN’s OCHA said that there were heavy Israeli attacks from the air, land, and sea in many parts of Gaza on Tuesday, especially in the Deir al-Balah southern Khan Younis areas.

“The attacks in these areas are causing many people to die and get hurt, and it’s having very bad effects on tens of thousands of civilians. Many of them had already moved to southern Gaza for safety,” it cautioned.

Israel is fighting in Gaza to get rid of Hamas and rescue people that they have taken.

It says it tries to keep civilians safe and blames Hamas for hiding fighters among them.

The war started when Hamas fighters from Gaza attacked southern Israel on 7 October. At least 1,300 people, mostly civilians, were killed and 240 were taken hostage.

More than 23,350 people, mostly children and women, have been killed in Gaza in the past 13 weeks of fighting, as reported by the health ministry run by Hamas.

  • Antony Blinken on US mission to stop Gaza igniting wider war

Antony Blinken on US mission to stop Gaza igniting wider war

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken wants to talk about the most important message during his fourth visit to the Middle East in three months.

His main goal on this trip is to make sure that the fighting between Israel and Gaza does not spread to other countries nearby.

He is traveling to many places in southwest Asia like Turkey, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. There is a lot of evidence that the tension in the region is getting worse.

The Houthi rebels in Yemen keep firing missiles and drones at civilian ships in the Red Sea. This has caused a lot of ships to stop using the Red Sea.

The US said it will protect the things that are important to them. If the rebels keep causing problems for global trade, the US might have to use its military to stop them. This would worry some important Arab allies of the US.

“We don’t see using the military as a solution,” said the leader of Qatar during a press conference with Mr. Blinken in Doha on Sunday. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said he is very worried that taking such action will make the situation never-ending and create a lot of tension in the whole region.

On Saturday, the group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon shot a lot of rockets at northern Israel as revenge for what seemed to be a bomb attack planned by Israel that killed an important leader of Hamas in Beirut. Israel bombed Hezbollah forces in Lebanon with their airplanes.

Later in the day, Mr. Blinken said that the situation was getting worse and it was a serious problem. He asked Iran and Turkey to use their influence to control Hezbollah.

That might be hard. The Washington Post said American officials are worried that Israel might be planning a big attack on Hezbollah.

“We want to solve things through talking, but if we can’t, we might have to take action,” said Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Friday.

At the same time, US military bases in Iraq and Syria were attacked by rockets and drones from militants. There are over 3,000 American soldiers in these areas. In the end of October, a drone entered US defenses and hit a building but did not explode, according to a report from Reuters. This avoided potentially causing serious harm to American soldiers.

The US took military action by bombing Baghdad last week and killing Mushtaq Taleb al-Saidi, who led a militia supported by Iran.

Each of these events could cause problems for the surrounding area. When you look at everything together, it seems like the Middle East is on the edge of a big war.

In Qatar, Mr. Blinken said the US has a plan to make things more stable. This plan depends on ending the fighting between the Israeli military and Gaza. The US wants to work with Arab countries and Israel to create a lasting peace for the Palestinians.

“He said the United States has a plan to make Israel safe and create a country for the Palestinian people. ” “And what I’ve learned from our talks up til now is. ” “Do our partners want to talk about tough things and make difficult choices. ”

That’s the problem. After talking to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, Mr. Blinken said that all the leaders he has talked to seem ready to help make Gaza stable and strong again after the war. However, the US needs to convince Israel to agree.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Friday that they would like to settle things peacefully through discussion, but they are getting close to a point where they might have to take action.

At the same time, militants in Iraq and Syria have attacked US military bases with rockets and drones. There are more than 3,000 American soldiers in these places. In October, a drone got past US defenses and hit a building but didn’t explode, said a Reuters report. This narrowly avoided causing a lot of American injuries.

The US used the military to attack and killed Mushtaq Taleb al-Saidi, a leader of an Iran-backed militia, in Baghdad last week.

Each of these episodes is a danger to the peace of the area. When you look at everything together, it seems like the Middle East is close to starting a big war.

In Qatar, Mr. Blinken said the US has a plan to deal with the growing problems in the region. The plan relies on ending the Israeli military operation in Gaza and collaborating with Arab nations and Israelis to create a lasting peace for the Palestinians.

“The United States has a plan to make Israel secure and give the Palestinian people their own state,” he said. “And what I got from the talks until now . Can our partners talk about hard things and make tough choices.

That’s the problem. After talking with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, Mr. Blinken said that he sees a desire to help make post-war Gaza stable and strong from all the leaders he has talked to. The US needs to convince Israel to agree.

Mr Blinken’s trip to the Middle East might tell us about the plan the US has for its recent diplomacy efforts. He visited Turkey and Arab countries, and then he went to Israel two days later. This helped him to understand the feelings and opinions of the people in the region before meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli War Cabinet.

Now it’s up to Israel to make a decision.

“On Monday, he said he will get to tell Israeli leaders everything he’s learned on this trip. ” “I believe there is a way to bring long-lasting peace and security to Israel in the future. ”

The American hope is that ending the Gaza War will reduce tensions in the region. It is a guess that the small problems in the Red Sea, Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria have not gotten worse on their own.

The Qatari prime minister said on Sunday that there can’t be peace in the area without a real and peaceful solution to the Palestinian conflict. Will there be peace if this is decided.

During his trip to the Middle East in November, Mr. Blinken said that countries in the area don’t want war and are trying to stop it from spreading. He said this in Turkey.

The US secretary said that just because something bad did not happen, it doesn’t always show that progress has been made, but it does.

Since then, there has been a lot of evidence that shows the chances of a bigger war happening have gone up, even though Mr. Blinken and the Americans say they don’t want it.

  • Skyrocketing food cost leaves Gazans hopeless

Skyrocketing food cost leaves Gazans hopeless

Food sellers in Gaza are charging really high prices because there isn’t enough food, which is making life hard for people who live there, regular Palestinians say.

Jihad Abu Sharkh had to move from his home in northern Gaza to Rafah in the south because a lot of displaced Palestinians are staying there. But now, it’s hard to find enough food to eat.

“We have to rely on the merchants who buy something for 10 shekels and then sell it for 200 or 250 shekels,” he said.

“They buy a bag of flour for 60 shekels and then sell it to us for 300 shekels. ”

He asked everyone to unite against the people who sell food to war, and stop them from having all the power.

Jamal Abu Alyan, who is in the southern part of Gaza, said: “Everywhere we go, we have a hard time because only a few dealers control everything. ”

Another person in Rafah told the media: “Many people don’t have enough food or drink to eat and some have to beg because they can’t find enough to eat. This is because food sellers are controlling the prices. ”

The United Nations has said that Gaza doesn’t have enough food and could run out of food soon.

  • Gaza’s healthcare system quickly deteriorating – WHO

Gaza’s healthcare system quickly deteriorating – WHO

Sean Casey from the World Health Organization is worried about the fighting near three hospitals in Gaza. These hospitals are the last place where people can get medical help in that area. He is in charge of the medical teams working there.

He told Reuters that the health system is falling apart very quickly.

Casey said that the health system is still struggling. Health workers are scared to go to work because they are afraid for their safety.

People who are scared of going to the hospital because they think they could die on the way, along with their families who also fear this.

“I heard this morning that because of fighting near a hospital in Khan Yunis governorate in the south of Gaza, patients and their families are risking their lives to get medical help. “

Two British hostages left in Gaza – UK Foreign Secretary

Hamas in Gaza is still holding two people from Britain as hostages, as said by David Cameron.

The UK’s chief diplomat is being questioned by a group of legislators at a foreign affairs meeting.
Two British citizens are still being held as captives. I don’t want to say anything else abou tthem.

When he was asked if we know if they are alive, he said, “I don’t want to say anything else. ” We don’t have anything to tell you.

Israel says that they still can’t find 123 people who were taken to Gaza by Hamas during the attacks on 7 October.

Israel believes that 23 of these people are dead.

  • Residents near Israel’s border fear northward invasion

Residents near Israel’s border fear northward invasion

Efrat Eldan Schechter is from the Northern Galilee and never thought about moving anywhere else until the events of 7 October.

When she saw and heard about what was happening in southern Israel that morning, with Hamas fighters coming from Gaza, it reminded her of the stories from the “Yom Kippur” or 1973 Middle East war, when Israel was attacked on two fronts at the same time.

I was really scared. “Everyone was still asleep and I was worried that the same thing might happen again like in 1973, and that Hezbollah might come for us,” says Efrat, as we talk in her front garden with the sound of Israeli artillery in the background.

“I woke everyone up right away, packed everything quickly, and drove to a family member’s house in the middle of Israel. ”

After a month, the family went back to their home near Kiryat Shmona. They were upset because they still live in a dangerous area close to where the war is happening. Efrat calls it a “buffer zone” and they are still at risk of being hit by rockets from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

The mother of three is worried that nothing will happen to stop Hezbollah from invading Israel, as they are waiting at the border. “I can’t sleep peacefully. ” I want the government to ensure that we are safe here.

Since the fighting started on 8 October, there have been clashes between Hezbollah and Israel in the north along the border.

But the fighting is very serious and dangerous – officials say that nine soldiers and four civilians have been killed in Israel, while authorities in Lebanon have reported that 123 people have been killed, including at least 21 civilians.

The small towns in northern Israel are empty like ghost towns now. More than 80,000 people have been moved to places in the south, but Nissan Zeevi is one of the few who has chosen to stay. The man who does business and helps with civil defense shows me around his kibbutz, Kfar Giladi, which is just north of Kiryat Shmona. The view is beautiful as you look at the green Hula valley and Mount Hermon far away, but this border has always been dangerous.

Nissan thinks most people can’t go back home or work until there’s a guarantee of long-lasting peace, just like Efrat. He is really upset that the UN Security Council rule 1701, which helped stop the 2006 war in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah, has not been completely followed.

Nissan says it’s very important that 1701 demands that armed groups (like Hezbollah) in southern Lebanon stop being so involved in the military. And that hasn’t been done.

Nissan is part of a group called Lobby 1701. They want Israel to use either diplomacy or military action to implement a resolution.

“He wants the government to handle Hezbollah and get rid of the danger from southern Lebanon,” he tells me, pointing to the many Lebanese villages he can see from his home, where he says a lot of the incoming attacks come from.

I asked Nissan if he would support more action by the Israeli government in southern Lebanon and he said yes, definitely. He also mentioned that he is not the only one who feels this way. Many people in Israel want the same thing. He also says if we don’t do this, we will have another problem like 7 October.

Last month, I went to the small towns in southern Lebanon. Israel is saying that Hezbollah is hiding in communities and using them to launch attacks, so they are conducting strikes on those areas every day. Just like in Israel, many people have left these places and many have died. People on both sides of the border are experiencing loss.

The chance of the small fight at the border turning into a big war got higher on Monday. A leader of Hezbollah, Wissam Tawil, was killed in an air strike on his car in Khirbet Selim. It is thought that Israel carried out a drone attack in Beirut last week, which killed Hamas’s deputy leader, Saleh al-Arouri, in a Hezbollah area.

This is bad news for people who work near the front line and are trying to earn a living.

Farmer Ofer “Poshko” Moskovitz from Kibbutz Misgav Am cannot harvest the valuable avocados from his farm because the Israeli army thinks it is too risky for him to work in his orchards, which are next to the border with Lebanon, to the northwest of Kiryat Shmona.

However, not like most people I talked to in the north, this calm and cheerful farmer believes that a bigger war can be prevented.

“I’m not worried because Israel is a powerful country,” says Ofer as we walk through hundreds of nearly ripe, green avocados scattered on the ground. He keeps saying: “No one wants war here. ” We want to handle it diplomatically and they are trying to find a solution – the army and diplomatic efforts are working together.

Ofer doesn’t show much hope or confidence in this place.

Sarit Zahavi lives near the border and started the Alma Research Institute in northern Israel. She spends a lot of time studying the politics of Israel’s neighboring countries.

“We are in a very dangerous situation. If there is a diplomatic agreement, it will bring peace and a stop to fighting. ” “And everyone will think it’s good news,” she says to me.

In my opinion, if there is a ceasefire, no one will make sure it happens. Hezbollah will keep getting stronger and keep improving its ability to attack Israel.

Not many people in northern Israel believe that talking can stop a big war. Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has promised to fight back against Israel, and Israel is also getting ready for things to possibly get worse.

On Monday, Israel did a lot of bombing near its border, right when the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken came to Tel Aviv.

With the very bad war in Gaza and the new things happening in the north, it seems very hard for Secretary Blinken.

  • Blinken in Middle East for difficult conversations

Blinken in Middle East for difficult conversations

The US is Israel‘s best friend, but today they will have difficult discussions.

For weeks, Washington has been asking Israel to stop their attack on Hamas in Gaza. The attack has killed many civilians and caused a lot of damage and a big problem for people’s well-being.

Israel’s military is trying to focus more on specific targets in its attacks, but many people have still been killed in its recent bombing of central and southern Gaza.

In answer to some ministers saying Palestinians should go somewhere else, Blinken will say that people from Gaza who had to leave should be able to go back to their homes.

However, there are reports that Israel may connect this to a new agreement to free its hostages who are being held by Hamas.

Blinken will also push for a clear plan for what should happen after the war in Gaza, and for more work to stop the war from spreading.

Yesterday, Israel reportedly killed a high-ranking commander of the Lebanese armed group, Hezbollah, in southern Lebanon, showing that the conflict is spreading.

Wafa, the news agency in Palestine, reported that Israel did bombings in central and southern areas, including around the Maghazi and Al-Bureij camps.

The organization said many people died in Jabalia and Beit Hanoun, at the top of the Gaza strip.

Israel has not said anything yet about the raids it did last night. The statement aims to attack terrorists and their buildings but wants to reduce harm to innocent people.

“There are severe consequences for journalist”

The BBC’s Rushdi Abualouf, who has been reporting from Gaza for a long time, talked about the challenges for journalists reporting from the region.

He said on the BBC News Channel that the journalist will face big consequences. People think that the person filming is a hero, but they forget that he is just a normal person with a family to take care of.

He’s always worried about his family, just think about someone losing five of their family members. He thinks he should keep writing the story, but it’s hard for him to keep reporting because he feels so sad and upset.

Rushdi said that many journalists have been killed during the fighting since October 7th.

  • Gazans claim daily living affected by medicine shortages

Gazans claim daily living affected by medicine shortages

BBC Arabic talked to people in Gaza who have long-term medical problems.

Many people in Gaza have health problems that last a long time, says the World Health Organization (WHO).

However, the World Health Organization (WHO) had to stop delivering more medical supplies to the area because they did not receive guarantees for their safety.

Khalil has asthma and her condition got worse because she had to leave her home and there were not enough medicines for her.

“I can’t do my breathing exercises because I need electricity, but there’s no power. ”

Khalil says she cannot get her medicine and if the bombing doesn’t kill patients, they will die because there is not enough medication.

Om Ali has high blood pressure and diabetes. She says it’s been a long time since she got what she wants.

She said that ever since the moving. I can’t find my medicine and I can’t get out of bed because I’m very sick.

Dr Ahmed Hesham Sakr works at a pharmacy in Rafah. He says there aren’t enough medical supplies because of the closed borders and ongoing war.

He wants the WHO to let the sickest people in Gaza go to get the medical help they need.

  • More injured people should be permitted to cross Rafah – Gaza administration

More injured people should be permitted to cross Rafah – Gaza administration

The government in charge of Gaza wants Egypt to open the border so they can send 6,000 injured people to get medical help in other countries as soon as possible.

It says that the health sector and hospitals in Gaza are in really bad shape.

The statement says that Israeli attacks have destroyed 30 facilities and now there are more than 58,000 people who are sick.

It means that right now only 10 to 20 injured people are allowed to go through the border every day. It asks Egypt to make things better so that they can allow “hundreds and thousands” of people to go through instead of just a few dozen.

The media office is asking for help from all countries in the world to stop the war and is specifically asking the international community and the US to put pressure on Israel.

“We ask everyone to take their moral and humanitarian duty seriously as civilians, children, and women in the Gaza Strip are being killed in front of the world. “

  • Gaza must remain open to Palestinians – Blinken

Gaza must remain open to Palestinians – Blinken

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the Palestinians in Gaza should not be forced to leave and should be able to go back home when it is safe.

Mr Blinken criticized Israeli ministers who said Palestinians should move to another place.

The US government person visited Qatar during his recent trip to the Middle East.

He made these comments after hearing that as many as 70 people died at Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Video from Jabalia showed dead bodies on the ground of a collapsed building, most of them were women and children.

A person from the Israel Defense Forces told the BBC that they attacked a military target and didn’t know how many people were hurt.

They said the army is working to stop Hamas’ violent attacks. The army is also trying to reduce harm to civilians and follow the law.

More than 60 people from Palestine were said to have also died in the last 24 hours in the southern city of Khan Younis.

Jabalia camp has been hit many times since Israel started fighting against Hamas after Hamas gunmen attacked southern Israel on 7 October.

Around 1,200 people were killed, mostly civilians, and about 240 others were taken hostage during the Hamas attacks.

More than 22,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in Gaza, as reported by the health ministry run by Hamas. At least 113 people have died in the past 24 hours from the Israeli bombing.

“Palestinian people should be able to go back to their homes when it’s safe,” Mr. Blinken said on Sunday. “They can’t, they shouldn’t be forced to leave Gaza. ”

Israel’s conservative Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich wants Palestinians to leave Gaza so that Israelis can move in and improve the area. He believes Israelis can make the desert fertile.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, a far-right politician, recently suggested that people from Gaza should move to another place as a way to solve the crisis there.

The Israeli government says that people from Gaza will be able to go back to their homes, but they haven’t said how or when it will happen.

Meanwhile, things in Gaza keep getting worse. Health experts are saying that hospitals are no longer safe.

Three global medical organizations said they are leaving the Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza because Israel has told them to evacuate.

A person from the United Nations who helps with emergencies said they are very worried about this situation.

Gemma Connell said the hospital was very crowded and overwhelmed, and now it doesn’t have the help it needs to deal with more and more sick people.

The boss of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that the hospital had to make more than 600 patients and health workers leave.

“Mr Tedros said on X, which used to be called Twitter, that we don’t know where they are right now. ”

Mr Blinken went to the Middle East because things are getting more tense there. People are worried that the fighting in Gaza could get even worse and affect other areas nearby.

Saleh al-Arouri, who was a leader of the group Hamas, was killed in an attack in southern Beirut. Two other leaders and four other members of Hamas were also killed. It is believed that Israel may be responsible for the attack.

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of a powerful group in Lebanon called Hezbollah, said that the killing of Arouri was a severe attack by Israel and that they will not get away with it.

Hezbollah shot rockets into Israel on Saturday because they were upset about Arouri being killed.

“This is a very tense time in the area. ” This is a problem that could get worse and cause more uncertainty and suffering, said Mr.

Qatar’s PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said that the killing of Arouri had made the situation more difficult.

Mr Blinken also said that it was very sad that journalist Hamza al-Dahdouh, the oldest son of Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief, was killed in a Israeli attack in southern Gaza.

He said that too many innocent Palestinian people have died in the war.

Mr Blinken went to Qatar after visiting Jordan, Turkey, and Greece. He went to Abu Dhabi on Sunday, and on Monday he is going to travel to Saudi Arabia.

  • Israel-Palestinian hostility intensified by war and Hamas attack

Israel-Palestinian hostility intensified by war and Hamas attack

Despite the ongoing war in Gaza and the large number of people dying, a new survey shows that many Palestinians support the deadly attacks by Hamas on Israel, which started the conflict. At the same time, most Israelis support their country’s military and are not thinking much about the deaths of Palestinian civilians. They want to defeat Hamas and bring back their hostages. This is what the polls show.

For three months, I have been talking to Israelis and Palestinians in Jerusalem to hear what they think about the ongoing conflict.

The cafes in the western part of the city are very busy, serving foamy coffees in the winter sun. However, Israelis are constantly worried about the ongoing war in Gaza.

“Always thinking about it, we have lots of friends with kids and family who are in Gaza, and we pray for them a lot,” says Edna, a Jewish woman from Bnei Brak.

“Yesterday we went to see our friend’s son who was really hurt. ” They are not sure if he will lose both of his legs. She says he won’t do it because God wants it that way.

“We are still thinking about the people who have been taken hostage. ” “It feels like a part of ourselves is inside it. ”

On October 7th, about 1,200 people were killed in southern Israel in attacks. Over 100 out of 240 hostages who were taken to Gaza are still being held captive.

Meanwhile, Israel has attacked Gaza by air and ground, and it has caused the death of about 23,000 people, according to the health ministry in Gaza. Most of the 2. 3 million people who live in Gaza had to leave their homes because there was a lot of damage.

However, a survey by the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) recently discovered that most Israelis do not believe that Israel should comply with the US’s request to decrease the amount of bombing in crowded areas during the war.

“Professor Tamar Hermann, who is a top pollster at IDI, says that anyone who wants to know about the situation in Gaza can look it up online. She is talking about the pain and struggles of the people there. ” “But the news on TV is not showing us the same things that people see in Europe or other countries. ”

She also says that when people in Gaza were seen cheering and celebrating the attack on October 7th, it made people in Israel less sympathetic towards them.

In this military operation, civilians are not seen as innocent bystanders like they were in the past. “Prof Hermann says that people are not showing much sympathy. ”

I met Tzafir Bracha when I was on my way to the Old City. He came for a visit. He is staying with family and is one of many Israelis from southern Israel who hasn’t been able to go back home for three months. He is still feeling very shocked about what happened.

“I believe it will take a while for everyone to realize how significant and disastrous the event on October 7th was. ” “I think most of us are still feeling hurt,” he tells me. “I don’t think anyone can understand unless it happened to them. ”

Tzafir thinks that the world needs to see that Hamas must be stopped so it can’t hurt anyone anymore.

“We need to win. ” You need to find the people responsible for this and remove them from society. Only then can we truly have peace.

In the small streets of the Old City, a lot of Palestinians from the part of Jerusalem that is controlled by another group tell me they feel limited in what they can say in public. Many people say that Israel often watches social media posts.

But everyone I meet is keeping up with the war all the time.

I have an account on Instagram, it’s called X. “I keep up with people from Gaza,” Haneen, a student nurse, explains. “We are all very unhappy. ”

But she says she doesn’t believe what Israel said happened on October 7th.

Palestinians don’t believe what Israel says because they use propaganda. We know that some things are correct, but other things are not.

Most Palestinians feel the same way as her, according to a recent survey in the West Bank and Gaza conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research.

“Most Palestinians don’t think Hamas has done anything wrong, and most haven’t seen any videos of bad things happening. ” “Professor Shikaki says that these videos are available for everyone to see. ”

His study showed that more people in the West Bank are starting to support Hamas, even though most Palestinians still don’t support the group. Israel, the UK, and many Western countries see Hamas as a terrorist organization.

In the survey, 72% of Palestinians thought it was right for Hamas to start their attack on October 7th.

A store owner from Palestine, who doesn’t want to say his name, is trying to explain why. He says foreign media doesn’t understand the hard life in Gaza because of the blockade by Israel and Egypt since Hamas took over.

“The people in Gaza feel like they are stuck in a very small place and can’t leave, like being in a prison,” he says.

He feels hopeless about the world’s countries because they are not doing enough to stop the fighting.

“We watch hard things on the TV. ” Very hard Children die Women are being murdered. Elderly people are being killed for no reason. They didn’t do nothing. The shopkeeper says, “I can’t believe it. ”

“To be honest, I can’t understand why people would watch these kinds of things and not do anything to stop it. It’s as if they’re just watching a movie and it doesn’t mean anything to them. ”

In Jerusalem, there are many things that separate the Israelis and Palestinians I have talked to.

But, most people now don’t trust each other and are afraid of what will happen in the coming months. Both sides feel that people from different countries don’t understand their hardships.

  • Son of Al Jazeera journalist killed in Gaza

Son of Al Jazeera journalist killed in Gaza

The oldest son of the person in charge of Al Jazeera‘s office in Gaza was killed in a bomb attack by Israel in the south of Gaza.

Hamza al-Dahdouh, a journalist and cameraman for Al Jazeera, was on a road with other reporters when a drone attacked them between Khan Younis and Rafah.

Freelance journalist Mustafa Thuraya was also murdered.

In October, four more of bureau chief Wael al-Dahdouh’s family members were also killed.

His wife Amna, his grandchild Adam, his 15-year-old son Mahmoud and seven-year-old daughter Sham were all killed in an attack by Israel.

According to Hisham Zaqout, a reporter for Al Jazeera, Hamza and a group of journalists were on their way to the Moraj area northeast of Rafah. The area had been declared a “humanitarian zone” by the Israeli army, but had recently been bombed.

Many people from Gaza ran away to this place to get away from the bombing in other parts of the area. Hamza planned to tell about what was happening and what happened after the bombings in the area, according to Al Jazeera.

Live video from Al Jazeera showed what happened after the car they were in got hit.

His father, Wael al-Dahdouh, was crying and holding his hand while standing next to his body in a morgue in Khan Younis. He was laid to rest in the southern city of Rafah.

Hamza was more than just a part of me. He meant everything to me. He was my everything. These tears are from feeling sad and missing someone or something. “These are the tears of people,” his father said during the funeral.

“I want the world to pay attention to what’s happening in Gaza. ”

Wael al-Dahdouh got hurt and his cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa was killed in a different attack while they were filming last month.

Mral-Dahdouh, who has eight kids, kept talking about the fighting in Gaza.

Hamza al-Dahdouh had a lot of people who liked his Instagram posts- one million. He wrote about his dad in his last post before he died. “You are strong and calm. ” Don’t give up hope in God’s kindness. “He said you will definitely get a reward,” he told me.

Over 75 reporters have died since the fighting in Gaza began.

More than 22,000 people have died in Gaza, according to the health ministry run by Hamas.

  • Hundreds of people assemble in London for year’s first pro-Palestinian march

Hundreds of people assemble in London for year’s first pro-Palestinian march

Hundreds of people who support Palestine sat down on Westminster Bridge for their first big protest in 2024.

They closed the bridge and the nearby streets after a march from St James’s Park today.

The Free Palestine Coalition had a protest asking for a stop to the fighting in Gaza.

It also said the UK should not sell weapons to Israel and should stop Israel from controlling Palestine.

They met at the park at 10am and then walked to Westminster. But the police stopped them at Big Ben.

Many of the demonstrators then slowly joined a peaceful protest that was surrounded on three sides by a line of police.

Many protesters had red paint on their hands and wore masks that looked like Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden.

The police said today that all protesters have left the area near Westminster Bridge. Police are still working in central London and are ready to handle more protests.

Two Palestinian reporters have been killed when Israel bombed their car in Gaza on Sunday. This brings the total number of people killed since October 7 to 109.

Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya were killed in a strike in the city of Khan Younis. Hamza’s father is the chief of Al Jazeera in the area.

This news is still developing. There will be more updates soon. Come back soon to get more information.

  • Mothers in Gaza use terrible method to quiet the cries of malnourished children

Mothers in Gaza use terrible method to quiet the cries of malnourished children

A mother hears her baby crying for food, so she grabs an empty pot nearby.

“Everything is going to be okay,” she said softly, pretending to mix a meal to help her child feel better. The food will be ready in a little while.

Living in the war-torn Gaza, the woman knows that there is no food for her hungry baby, and she doesn’t know when there will be any.

Many Palestinians are scared they will starve because they are constantly being attacked. The World Health Organization (WHO) says 93% of people are dealing with serious hunger and not enough food, leading to high levels of malnutrition.

There isn’t enough food and water, and shelters are almost full. Without fuel, there is no electricity.

“There’s a big fight happening, everyone knows that. ” “But there is a big problem with hunger that the world hasn’t noticed,” said charity worker Yusuf Kalam in an interview with Metro. couk

He saw security points and aid trucks waiting for a long time at the Rafah Border in Egypt, near Gaza.

Yusuf, who works as a manager at Muslim Aid, says: “People in Gaza are unsure if they should wait for help or leave and risk their safety. ”

“Many people are gathering on the roads, in churches, and in schools because there is not enough shelter available. ”

“Many people in Gaza feel like they are not getting enough help and that the world has left them behind. ” But actually, help is available, it’s just not reaching the people who need it.

The Rafah border is not a big business area, it’s a place for people to walk across. The roads and buildings there are not ready for the many trucks and help for people in Gaza that are trying to arrive.

Since fighters from Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, Gaza has been completely surrounded, and there is not enough water and electricity.

In other places, there were videos of food being set on fire, said to be done by Israeli soldiers.

Human Rights Watch found out that people in Gaza are being starved on purpose as a way of fighting.

Yusuf said that kids are going to bed without enough food to eat. Someone told me about a mother who had an empty pot. She kept stirring it until her hungry baby fell asleep.

There are other stories I’ve heard that are too scary to tell. Some individuals felt really upset after seeing something at the Rafah crossing. They are not sure if they should wait for help or take a dangerous journey to a border with their families.

I met a woman whose daughter is still in Gaza. The mother had to leave because she had a different passport, but her daughter did not have to leave. She can’t reach her because there are problems with the connection, and it’s making everyone unsure of what to do.

500 people are staying in a school that was only built for 100. Illnesses are spreading. When people don’t have enough food, their bodies become less able to fight off sickness.

MP said that the family stuck in a church in Gaza only have one can of corn left.

I heard that some people are pooping in the street because they have nowhere else to go. People are gathering on the streets.

Yusuf, who is 33 years old, had trouble sleeping when he came back to London after working for a few days at the border. His little girl woke up at night and he hugged her tightly in the dark.

“I suddenly remembered detailed pictures of the events in Gaza,” he remembers. I was trying to calm my crying daughter and put her to sleep in a quiet room, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the loud noises and scary things that parents in Gaza have to deal with every day. I feel really messed up and scared.

“I have never seen anything like the situation in Gaza in the ten years I have been working in the humanitarian sector. ” Please simplify the following text. “Rewrite this text in simple words:’”

Yusuf has to stop thinking about his feelings and respond to disasters at work.

This year, he went to Gaziantep after big earthquakes happened in southern Turkey and northern Syria. There, he said the scene looked like the end of the world. However, he said that in Gaza, things felt different. The disaster happened because of people, not nature.

“In Turkey, people didn’t feel as hopeless or abandoned,” he says. “What I’m seeing now is the very worst of people. ” I have never seen something so sad and hopeless. The fighting is getting worse and there are still so many people dying, it’s really shocking.

These are actual people who are in danger. They breathe the same air as us and their bodies are made of the same things.

Yusuf and his coworkers at Muslim Aid got help from people who gave donations. They used the donations to get food, water, and ambulances and bring them to Gaza.

British aid workers put life-saving medicine and equipment and room for a stretcher in vans. Each one had a clear sign that said ‘ambulance’ so they wouldn’t get involved in any fighting.

During his time in Egypt, Yusuf heard about people suffering, but he also heard about people being kind to each other. He heard about doctors using phone flashlights for surgeries, aid workers working non-stop, and donors giving all they could to help end suffering.

Muslim Aid got £20,000 from a man in the UK who donated all his money to help them.

“In the dark, when it feels like there’s no hope, Yusuf says you can see a ray of light. ”

‘That light is us – as people – helping each other. It’s easy to feel discouraged by what’s happening or the politics, but if you pay attention to the good news, you can feel hopeful.

NGO people meet in Westminster to ask for a ceasefire right away.

Humanitarian breaks have helped aid to reach Gaza, but there is still fighting since a weeklong stop in fighting ended on December 1, 2023.

Muslim Aid, Oxfam, and Amnesty International are asking for fighting to stop so that people can stop suffering. Aid workers want to find new ways to quickly feed the hungry people in Gaza.

The entire city has been ruined. Soon, people will ask what will happen next in Gaza. Yusuf is asking how we can help these people find new homes and rebuild their lives. He wants to know what that process will be like and when it will happen.

Right now, the most important thing is to make sure that people stay alive until we figure out the answers to those questions. We’ve seen 20,000 people die.

When do we decide that we have had enough.

  • Israel faces significant obstacles “day after” Gaza strategy

Israel faces significant obstacles “day after” Gaza strategy

Three months ago, when Hamas attacked Israel, Israel was not ready for it.

I didn’t expect the attack, had a hard time controlling it at first, and then attacked the Gaza Strip with a basic plan to get rid of Hamas.

Further out, there was a big empty space. But that’s starting to change.

As Defence Minister Yoav Gallant explained to reporters on Thursday, his plan for “the day after” is just a few main ideas, but they are important to look at.

He says the same thing as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about security. Israel will do whatever it needs to in Gaza to keep itself safe.

This happens when the plan talks about the four main parts of the civilian square. Then it becomes a little unclear.

Israel has been controlling what comes into Gaza for the last 20 years and will keep doing so.

Israel, Egypt, and the United States will team up to find ways to better protect the border between Egypt and Gaza. They want to fix the problem of tunnels for good.

The plan includes a big part for foreign countries like the US, Europe, and Arab nations in making a group that will work on fixing the problems in the Gaza Strip.

In simpler terms, those countries will be responsible for rebuilding the entire damaged area. And give money for it.

Many countries in the EU and Gulf States have had their hospitals, schools, and universities destroyed in the last three months. This does not make them interested in investing more.

If Israel gets rid of Hamas, there could still be more violence later on, causing more damage.

The hard-working US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, is currently visiting the region for the fourth time since October 7th. As he goes to different Arab cities, will leaders be happy or excited about the suffering in Gaza.

So far, Arab leaders believe that we cannot talk about what will happen “the day after” until there is a ceasefire and the devastating impact of the war on people has been taken care of.

However, Sanam Vakil and Dr. Neil Quilliam from the British think tank Chatham House, suggest that Arab governments should not delay.

“If we don’t plan and invest in Gaza, there could be lawlessness, no political leadership and a lot of hunger, sickness and death. ”

What about the lack of Palestinian political leadership.

In Gallant’s plan for “four corners,” the Palestinian part is unclear.

“The group in charge of the area will use the current administrative system in Gaza to improve and make it better. ”

According to the news, Israel will have to agree to all appointments to local committees.

Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, led by Mahmud Abbas, don’t have a role right now.

For Palestinians, the plan reminds them of when Israel tried to set up non-political “Village Leagues” in the late 1970s to control local matters in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and lessen the power of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

According to Amjad Iraqi, a senior editor at Israeli +972 Magazine, Israel cannot imagine a situation where Palestinians have political power.

“They’re trying to copy the system they have in the West Bank in Gaza, but with someone who isn’t part of a political group. “

Creating groups made up of important people from Gaza would also cause a separation between Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Palestinians have been afraid of an Israeli plan to keep them separate and weak, so they can’t have their own strong country.

The West Bank and Gaza have been apart from each other since Israel was created in 1948, but Palestinians think of them as important parts of who they are and will strongly oppose any effort to separate them.

“Gaza is not its own country,” said Palestinian analyst and former PA spokeswoman Nour Odeh. “They both want their own country and to be free from Israel’s power and control. ”

American officials are still looking at the Gallant plan, but they are not very excited about it. They also say that it’s not an official proposal from Israel yet.

For weeks, the Biden administration has been saying that the Palestinian Authority should be involved, even though Mr Netanyahu disagrees. He thinks the PA shouldn’t be involved because they didn’t condemn Hamas’s attacks on October 7th.

Travelling with Mr. Blinken, a high-ranking official from the State Department said the US still wants the Palestinian Authority to govern the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

He also said it would be difficult for the US to find Arab countries willing to work with Israel because some members of Mr. Netanyahu’s government want Palestinians to be moved out of Gaza.

This is still the Palestinians’ biggest worry, made worse by strong talk from some of Mr. Netanyahu’s political friends and government documents from unknown places.

Lately, people are worried because there are reports that the government is talking to African countries in secret to take in migrants from Gaza.

Many people in Gaza are now living in the southern part of the Strip. Some of them have moved several times since October 7th. It is worrying to think that they might have to leave Gaza and not be able to come back.

But, other people also have doubts about Mr. Gallant’s plan, not just the Palestinians.

Some of the strongest opposition is already coming from strict members of Mr. Netanyahu’s own difficult coalition.

Some people think it was a big mistake for Israel to leave the Gaza Strip in 2005. They believe the only way to keep the area safe is for Israel to take control of it again and let Jewish people who used to live there come back.

MrGallant seems very direct about this.

“No Israeli people will live in the Gaza Strip. ”

However, the strict believers think that rebuilding Gaza and letting the Palestinians stay will only cause more problems in the future.

Ohad Tal, a member of the hardline Religious Zionist Party, said that we might go back to October 7th in two, five, or ten years.

Letting money come into Gaza to fix the houses will just end up with them using the money for something else. Instead of making Gaza a nice place, they turned it into a big center for terrorists.

The argument in Thursday night’s cabinet meeting showed that Mr. Netanyahu’s government is divided on when and how the Israeli military should investigate the 7 October attacks.

These differences are probably going to get stronger as Israel and the world try to figure out what to do with Gaza when the war is over.

  • ‘Misinformation’ about Israel and Gaza hits McDonald’s

McDonald’s is losing business because people in the Middle East and other places are not buying their food. They think McDonald’s supports Israel.

CEO Chris Kempczinski has admitted in a post on LinkedIn that there was an impact, and he said that the negative reaction was due to incorrect information.

He is the second boss of a big company in the US to talk about how the Israel-Gaza war is affecting businesses.

    Starbucks has also had problems.

“Many markets in the Middle East and some other places are being affected by the war and false information, and it’s hurting businesses like McDonald’s,” Mr. Kempczinski wrote in the message.

“He said this is discouraging and not based on good reasons. ”

“In all the countries we work in, even those with a lot of Muslims, McDonald‘s is proudly run by local owners. ”

McDonald’s has lots of stores all over the world. Many of these stores are run by different people who own their own businesses. About 5 out of every 100 are in the Middle East.

Since Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October, the McDonald’s main office has tried to stay out of the public eye when it comes to the fighting.

But its company is still involved in the conflict.

After the attack, McDonald’s Israel gave free meals to many members of the Israeli military.

The decision to move sparked people in countries that have a lot of Muslims to want to not buy the products. They were angry about Israel’s military actions in Gaza. The owners of the brand in countries where most people are Muslim wanted to make it clear that they were not connected to what was happening.

Mr Kempczinski posted about the growing tension over the boycotts.

The pro-Palestinian group BDS has now asked people to stop buying from McDonald’s, even though they didn’t focus on McDonald’s before.

McDonald’s Malaysia, supported by a company from Saudi Arabia, sued the Malaysia BDS group for $1. 3 million They said the group made untrue and harmful statements that hurt their business.

BDS wants McDonald’s to end its partnership with the franchisee in Israel and Malaysia if it doesn’t give up the lawsuit.

The group said that instead of asking McDonald’s to end its franchise in Israel, McDonald’s Malaysia and its Saudi owner are trying to stop people from showing support for the Palestinian liberation in Malaysia.

“We can’t allow this to happen. ” “Let’s prove to McDonald’s the power of regular people boycotting their products. ”

McDonald’s chose not to say anything about the lawsuit and pointed back to the post.

Mr Kempczinski said that we hate violence and don’t like hate speech. We will always welcome everyone with pride.

  • Israeli minister describes post-conflict preparations for Gaza

Israeli minister describes post-conflict preparations for Gaza

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has given ideas for how Gaza should be run after the war between Israel and Hamas ends.

He said that Palestinians would have some control over the area, but it would be limited.

Hamas will not be in charge of Gaza anymore, and Israel will have the main control of security.

The fighting in Gaza kept going as the plan was released. Dozens of people were killed in the past day, according to the health ministry run by Hamas.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is coming back to the area this week. He will have discussions with Palestinian officials in the West Bank and leaders in Israel.

He is visiting at a time when there is a lot of tension in the area because a top Hamas leader was killed in Beirut. Many people believe that Israel is responsible for his death. Israel has not said if they were involved or not.

Under Gallant’s plan, Israel would have the main control of security in Gaza.

A group from many different countries would help rebuild the area after it was damaged by Israeli bombing.

Egypt, which is next to the country, would also have a role in the plan, but it is not clear what that role will be.

However, the paper also says that Palestinians would have to take care of the area.

“Mr Gallant said that the people in Gaza are Palestinian, so Palestinian authorities will be in charge. But they must not do anything unfriendly or threatening to Israel. ”

The plan was not talked about much in the meeting with the government officials, and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not said anything about it. The meeting ended in a fight with some ministers getting mad about the names suggested for an investigation into the 7 October attack by Hamas.

There is a lot of disagreement in Israel about what will happen in Gaza after the current situation.

Some conservative members of Mr. Netanyahu’s government want Palestinian citizens to leave Gaza and for Jewish settlements to be rebuilt there. Other countries in the area and some of Israel’s allies think these ideas are extreme and impossible to make happen.

Mr Gallant has some ideas that may be easier to do than others in the government. But the Palestinian leaders will probably not agree with his ideas. They think the people in Gaza should be in charge of their own territory after the war ends.

Mr Netanyahu has not said in public how he thinks Gaza should be ruled.

He thinks the fighting in Gaza could continue for a few more months, with the goal of totally defeating Hamas.

MrGallant explained how the Israeli military plans to continue the war in Gaza.

He said the Israeli army will focus on specific areas in the north of the Gaza Strip and conduct operations like raids, destroying tunnels, and using air and ground attacks.

The Israeli military in the south will keep looking for Hamas leaders and trying to rescue Israeli hostages.

On Thursday, the Israeli military said it attacked parts of Gaza in the north and south, including Gaza City and Khan Younis.

It attacked terrorist buildings and killed people it called militants who tried to set off a bomb near soldiers.

It also said it had killed a high-ranking member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Mamdouh Lolo, in a bombing.

The health department in Gaza, run by Hamas, reported that 125 people died in the last day in the area.

An official from the health department said that 14 people, including nine children, were killed by Israeli air attacks in al-Mawasi, to the west of Khan Younis.

The small town is a “safe space” for Palestinians who have been forced to leave their homes, protected by Israeli forces. The IDF has not said anything about what Hamas has claimed.

“We were asleep when a strike hit the camp where people were sleeping in tents. Most of them were children,” said Jamal Hamad Salah to the news agency Reuters. “We found a body that was thrown 40 meters away from the scene. ”

“Save the Children’s country director for the occupied Palestinian territory, Jason Lee, says that Gaza is not a safe place. ” Places like camps, shelters, schools, hospitals, homes, and places where people should be safe should not be places where there is fighting.

More than 22,400 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel started attacking. This is almost 1% of the 2. 3 million people who live there. Hamas runs the health ministry and provided this information.

Israel started attacking after Hamas gunmen surprised and attacked southern Israel on October 7th. They killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took about 240 people as hostages.

Transport behemoth claims Red Sea route still too risky

One of the world’s largest shipping companies, Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd, told the media it would avoid the Red Sea for at least another week and then reassess the situation following recent attacks by Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Iran-backed rebels, who have declared their support for Hamas, are targeting ships using the popular Suez Canal shipping route.

The group has previously claimed its attacks target ships linked to Israel, in response to the war in Gaza. Shipping companies are worried about the safety of their employees as some ships have been attacked by drones and missiles.

The US Navy destroyed three Houthi “small boats” over the weekend as their crew tried to board a container ship in the Red Sea.

Hapag-Lloyd sends 50 ships through the Suez Canal each month and will have to reroute around the Cape of Good Hope, which will add a week or two to journey time depending on the destination.

Death toll reaches 22,000 persons after bomb attack on headquarters claimed five lives

The Palestinian Red Crescent said five people were killed and three injured in an Israeli bomb attack on the organization’s headquarters in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

Fierce fighting continues in the territory, although Israel has announced plans to withdraw some combat troops.
