The painting of Shatta Wale not being able to work with anybody is getting too much because I am making too much money that I can’t think about hating again.

“He has done well, and nobody should tag him that he (Blakk Cedi) is managing Shatta Wale because Sammy Flex is still my manager,” he said.

He also expressed profound gratitude to his fans for their support throughout his career.

“I am trying to create some business this year so I believe most of the fans are going to work with me. Also, I am going to give them some good music. Thanks to every Shatta fan who has been with me from day one. May God bless you and your family,” he added.

I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have mentioned Shatta Wale’s mom’s name – MC Portfolio on GHS 5k gift saga

The issue started when MC Portfolio, during an interview with Stonebwoy on Angel FM, revealed that some BHIM fans suggested he return the GH¢5,000 gift he received from Shatta Wale.

They even proposed he contact Shatta Wale’s mother to give back the money.

The fans felt this was the only way MC Portfolio could regain Stonebwoy’s trust, accusing him of betraying the artist by accepting money from Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy’s rival.

However, Shatta Wale supporter Mawuli Ekpe Peter, also known as Abro, recently criticized MC Portfolio, saying it was wrong to drag Shatta Wale’s mother into the matter.

Abro expressed that it was disrespectful for MC Portfolio to claim he felt pressured to return the GH¢5,000 to Shatta Wale’s mother.

At first, MC Portfolio brushed off Abro’s criticism.

However, after thinking about it, he admitted that his comments were wrong and showed a lack of respect toward Shatta Wale and the SM community.

In his apology on Fakye TV, MC Portfolio said, “I deeply regret the comments I made. I understand now how they could have hurt Shatta Wale and his fans, and I sincerely apologize. My words were ill-chosen, and I recognise the importance of being mindful of the impact they have.”

“A sign of the highest form of humility” – Evangelist on Shatta Wale kneeling before Vybz Cartel

Evangelist Suro Nyame has expressed his views on Shatta Wale’s performance at the recent ‘Freedom Concert’ in Jamaica.

In a Facebook post, he highlighted the significance of Shatta Wale’s kneeling gesture, which was a tribute to Vybz Kartel.

As a strong supporter of the Shatta Movement, Evangelist Suro Nyame disagreed with critics who claimed Shatta Wale appeared overly starstruck and that his tribute to Kartel negatively impacted his performance.

The Evangelist believes the situation was not as the critics portrayed it.

He said it wasn’t just Shatta’s song choices that stood out to him, but it was his humbling gesture towards Vybz Kartel.

“Humility is key. Shatta Wale didn’t have to do that, but he did. He knelt, showing respect to Vybz Kartel, and that is a sign of the highest form of humility,” Nyame explained.

Evangelist Suro Nyame believes that Shatta Wale’s gesture serves as a reminder that true greatness comes from humility.

“When you humble yourself, like Shatta Wale did, God will elevate you. That’s how it works. No one gets far in life without acknowledging others and showing respect. It’s a spiritual principle,” he added.

He further emphasised, “Shatta Wale didn’t just perform; he connected with the crowd.”

  • ‘What was the message supposed to achieve?’ – Bullgod on Blakk Cedi-Shatta Wale ‘partnership’

‘What was the message supposed to achieve?’ – Bullgod on Blakk Cedi-Shatta Wale ‘partnership’

Former manager of Shatta Wale, Bullgod, has criticized Blakk Cedi’s recent post praising his collaboration with Shatta on a project, calling it a “huge betrayal.”

Bullgod initially believed that Blakk Cedi was just helping to ensure the event’s success, as he had done for other international events involving Ghanaian artists.

However, after seeing Blakk Cedi’s post, which went further than expected, Bullgod was shocked.

In a surprising revelation, Blakk Cedi, former manager of Stonebwoy, shared that he had worked with Shatta Wale’s team during the Vybz Kartel Freedom Street Concert in Jamaica.

In a post on social media, Blakk Cedi called the opportunity a big deal and expressed his appreciation for Shatta Wale’s professionalism and strong work ethic.

He also thanked Shatta Wale for the trust, respect, and love he received during their collaboration.

The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with netizens labeling Blakk Cedi a “sellout” for working with Shatta Wale, who is Stonebwoy’s greatest rival.

Some critics believe that Blakk Cedi, who was once closely connected to Stonebwoy and played an important role in his career, should have remained loyal.

Bullgod has weighed in on the issue, agreeing with this viewpoint.

“We’ve met at different platforms, and as event people, we usually want to support our Ghanaian artistes. That’s how I saw the whole thing until I saw his post. For me, that felt like it was a huge stab in the back for Stonebwoy. I don’t know how Stone will feel, but I know he won’t be happy about this. I say this with no disrespect,” Bullgod said in an interview on Joy Prime.

He added, “I’ve seen Blakk Cedi multiple times outside the country, helping at events. But when he made that post, saying he was part of the team, it felt off. What was the message supposed to achieve?”

Despite his disappointment over Blakk Cedi’s actions, Bullgod did acknowledge Shatta Wale’s success in the concert and expressed pride in seeing his dream come to fruition.

“I’m happy for Shatta. Why not? It has always been part of his dream. Shatta has always admired Vybz Kartel. We saw the vision back then and understood where the inspiration was coming from. Now that it’s happening, we’re proud. Whether we’re with him or not, it’s a dream we started, and we’re glad to see it realised. It’s historic. Nobody should criticised him, he did what he had to do,” Bullgod said.

Bullgod also reminisced about a past effort to bring Vybz Kartel to Ghana when he managed Shatta Wale.

He shared how everything was set, including booking the venue and paying for Vybz Kartel’s appearance, but the Jamaican artist was arrested just days before the event.

“We were going to bring Vybz Kartel to Ghana. We had already paid for the dome, arranged everything, and had the figures to pay him. Then, he got arrested on Friday,” Bullgod recalled.

    Blakk Cedi and Stonebwoy’s split

In 2019, Blakk Cedi and Stonebwoy parted ways after some internal issues within the Burniton Music Group.

While the exact details of their fallout were never fully disclosed, reports stated that Blakk Cedi was asked to leave due to disagreements over how the label’s artistes were being managed.

Prior to this split, Blakk Cedi and Stonebwoy shared a very close bond, both professionally and personally.

They were not just business partners but best friends, and Cedi even served as Stonebwoy’s best man during his wedding.

Blakk Cedi had long been one of Stonebwoy’s most trusted allies, defending him in both public and private battles.

Former manager of Shatta Wale, Bullgod, has praised the artist and his team for being invited to perform at the 2024 Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert in Jamaica.

He expressed pride in Shatta Wale’s performance, highlighting it as a significant achievement. Bullgod noted that this was particularly special for Shatta Wale, as he has long admired Vybz Kartel and aspired to connect with him.

The concert was described as a meaningful milestone for the Ghanaian musician.

Bullgod discussed Shatta Wale’s performance during an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show expressing his admiration for Shatta Wale’s energy and the significance of his appearance at the Freedom Street Concert.

Bullgod highlighted how the event showcased Shatta Wale’s talent on an international stage, making it a proud moment for Ghana.

“It was part of the dream. Shatta has always admired Vybz Kartel, and even before I met him, I saw what he was doing; I’m a big reggae and dancehall fan. When you look at where he’s going with his craft, you can see the inspiration behind it,” he said.

When Bullgod started working with Shatta Wale, he encouraged the team to strive for a career path similar to Vybz Kartel’s. Although their partnership ended unexpectedly, Bullgod expressed pride in Shatta Wale’s current team for helping him achieve this vision.

He acknowledged their efforts in reaching the goal, even though he is no longer part of the artist’s journey.

“We saw the dream at the time and recognised where the influence and inspiration were coming from. So, to witness this full circle moment in our lifetime, we are proud of the team Shatta Wale is with now, who made sure this dream became a reality.

Everyone is happy, trust me. Whether we are with him or not, it’s a dream we started, and we’re glad it happened,” he remarked.

Bullgod also shared his joy in being part of Vybz Kartel’s triumphant return, particularly after the artist’s 13 years of imprisonment.

He further revealed that the idea for Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert originally came from himself, Kendrick Yehowada, and Vybz Kartel. However, the concept was put on hold after the Jamaican artist’s unfortunate arrest.

  • So much hatred towards myself ,Shatta Wale because we are non-conformists – Asamoah Gyan

So much hatred towards myself ,Shatta Wale because we are non-conformists – Asamoah Gyan

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan recently took to social media to share the struggles he has faced due to his straightforward personality and refusal to conform.

While addressing the Kantamanto fire incident, Gyan shifted focus to discuss how staying genuine has often led to disrespect and criticism.

He compared his experiences to those of musician Shatta Wale, highlighting similarities in how both have dealt with hatred while staying true to their authentic selves.

Asamoah Gyan explained that his humility is often misinterpreted as a weakness, even by individuals, including some accomplished legends, whom he has surpassed in achievements.

He emphasized that he does not hesitate to call out such behavior, even if it results in being perceived as disrespectful.

Gyan likened this approach to Shatta Wale’s, noting that both share a tendency to stand their ground and address issues directly when their values are challenged.

“I’ve achieved more than some of my colleagues, but when I see them, I respect them. Because I respect them, they try to disrespect me and take me for granted. But when they do, I quickly let them know that they cannot try that with me. I make them aware that I have achieved more than them, and it’s out of respect that I obey them,” Gyan explained.

He continued, “That is how Shatta Wale is. When Shatta Wale sees Reggie Rockstone and other legends, he will bow down. It doesn’t mean he is stupid. But when those legends step on his toes, he will insult them to remind them of their place. That guy, watch his life and watch mine. It’s a natural gift.”

Asamoah Gyan further emphasised his belief that he has always been “the chosen one,” receiving opportunities amidst millions of others.

“From my infancy, I’ve always been favoured and chosen for opportunities. You can ask around. It’s a gift that no one can take away from me. I always stand out. Out of thousands, and millions, I’m often the chosen one. That’s how Shatta Wale is. Sometimes, I get shocked by these personal traits,” he stated.

The former Black Stars captain then recounted how years ago, after the success of Shatta Wale’s “Bandana” track, the artiste was blacklisted by the music industry because he refused to conform and remained true to himself.

“When he released ‘Bandana,’ it blew up and he was happy. But fast forward a year or two, I saw Nii Armah (Shatta Wale) on the streets looking dirty and unkempt. According to the facts I gathered, at that time, Shatta Wale didn’t comply with the industry’s expectations. He is a real person. You can’t tell him what to do, so people in the industry wanted to control him. Because he didn’t allow that, they cut his music off from the mainstream media and sabotaged him to the point where he went broke,” Asamoah Gyan said.

He added, “He was from a rich home but decided to go on the streets. I was coming back from training when I saw him, and I parked and cried. My classmate, who after the ‘Bandana’ hit was looking like that, I was hurt. So, I stopped in front of Blue Lagoon, where he stayed with his friends, and interacted with him. I asked what happened, and he said, ‘Life happened.’”

Former manager of dancehall artist Stonebwoy, Blakk Cedi, has been spotted in Jamaica offering his support to Shatta Wale ahead of his performance at Vybz Kartel’s much-anticipated Freedom Street concert.

Videos of Blakk Cedi meeting with Shatta Wale have been circulating online, sparking excitement and discussions among fans. Many see this gesture as a significant show of support for Shatta Wale, who is the only Ghanaian artist invited to perform at the event.

The move has been widely praised as a unifying moment within Ghana’s music industry.

The development comes shortly after Stonebwoy’s controversial remarks, where he downplayed Shatta Wale’s participation in the Freedom Street concert.

In a recent interview, Stonebwoy hinted that Shatta Wale’s role at the Freedom Street concert was limited to being a curtain-raiser, dismissing it as a move to align with international artists for personal gain.

However, his former manager Blakk Cedi’s presence in Jamaica seems to contradict this narrative.

The Freedom Street concert is a major milestone in Jamaican music, returning after a long break due to Vybz Kartel’s incarceration.

“This is the second time I’ve been asked this question, and I think the kind of attention I’m supposed to give that thing is pretty irrelevant in my world. You have to care about something to even let it bother you, but for this, I don’t care,” he stated.

Blacko also made it clear that he doesn’t view Shatta Wale as a rival.

“Nothing can happen between me and Shatta Wale. It just can’t happen. Because of the kind of position we both occupy in society, the street can’t have that kind of bad blood,” he added.

Black Sherif further denied rumours circulating online that his Snapchat story was intended to mock Shatta Wale’s fashion sense.

“I didn’t post anything on my Snap because of him. So, because someone went to do an interview, shouldn’t I post it on my Snap? I didn’t reply to him, and whatever they said online is just fan-fueled stuff,” he said.

Bullgod runs to court for everything because his house is close to one – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has slammed his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, for choosing to pursue court cases based on the proximity of one courthouse to his home.

This comes after a renewal of their legal dispute, which dates back to the last quarter of 2022 when Bulldog filed a defamation lawsuit against Shatta Wale. The lawsuit was a result of Shatta Wale threatening to expose Bulldog’s alleged involvement in the death of the late artist manager, Fennec Okyere.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, the “Gringo” hitmaker explained that the out-of-court settlement, which had been agreed upon by both parties, his team hasn’t settled because when they were ready, Bulldog was out of the country.

According to him, Bullgod was in court to enforce an out-of-court settlement agreement reached almost a year ago following the defamation lawsuit, citing that his former artist’s return to court is because his house is close to one.

He also revealed he believes Bullgod’s attempt to revisit the law courts is premised on malice.

“There’s no different cause of action. Bullgod just wants to take his money. He wasn’t in Ghana when we wanted to make payment. You see Bullgod, if this is the house, this is the court, so he wakes up and goes to the court anytime. When a chicken clucks, he goes to court. When a taxi driver toots the horn, he goes to court because his house is just close to the court,” he said.

    Background:

In the final quarter of 2022, Bullgod filed a defamation lawsuit against his former artist, Shatta Wale.

The lawsuit followed threats by the musician to reveal alleged secrets about Bullgod, including claims related to the death of the late artist manager, Fennec Okyere, among other accusations.

In March 2023, a year after the suit was filed, lawyers representing both parties agreed to settle the case out of court. Bullgod’s lawyer, Justice Srem Sai, disclosed this during a court appearance on Tuesday, March 7.

However, Shatta Wale has reportedly failed to fulfil his promise to pay the agreed legal fee of GH¢100,000 to Bullgod and his legal team.

Shatta Wale explained that the name “Wale” stands for “World Alerted Lyrical Entertainment.” He and his girlfriend at the time brainstormed this name to reflect the global brand image he aspired to achieve. When he decided to make his comeback, he felt it was the perfect time to adopt this name.

“I wanted a name that resonated globally, and ‘Wale’ just felt right. It stands for ‘World Alerted Lyrical Entertainment,’ which sums up my dream perfectly,” he shared during the interview.

To add a personal touch, he included “Shatta,” which he interprets as a hardworking individual who achieves great things. And just like that, Shatta Wale was born—a name that embodies his journey and aspirations.

From his humble beginnings as Bandana, Shatta Wale has transformed into a powerhouse, blending dancehall with Afrobeats and collaborating with international artists.

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., has had a remarkable career. Initially known as Bandana, he made waves with his hit track “Bandana from Ghana” in 2004. His career took a significant turn in 2013 when he rebranded as Shatta Wale and released the smash hit “Dancehall King,” which earned him the Artiste of the Year award at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Since then, Shatta Wale has continued to dominate the music scene with hits like “My Level” and “Taking Over.” He even collaborated with Beyoncé on the song “Already” from her album “The Lion King: The Gift. His influence extends beyond music, as he has also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as “Never Say Never” and “Shattered Lives”.

Shatta Wale’s journey from Bandana to a global dancehall sensation is a testament to his resilience and creativity. His story is not just about a name change but about evolving and staying true to his vision of becoming a worldwide icon.

Shatta Wale says he wants to buy a car for his “best friend” Samini

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has expressed his admiration for colleague musician Samini, calling him a best friend and expressing gratitude for him.

Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM in Kumasi on November 25, Shatta Wale noted that despite attempts by others to create conflict between them, he has nothing but respect and love for him.

“They crashed Samini’s head with my head, and that’s how now Samini is my best friend. I love him so much, and I owe him a whole lot of things in my life.

“I’m praying to God to bless me with more money so that on one of my birthdays, I can buy a big car for him,” he explained.

He also blamed the music industry, mentioning how similar tactics have been used with other artists like Stonebwoy and Black Sherif.

“Stonebwoy and now even Black Sherif, who is out there doing well, are trying to clash our heads, and the system is looking at it,” he added.

Despite their past rivalry over the title of ‘Dancehall King’ in Ghana, Shatta Wale and Samini have reconciled and are now on good terms.

The duo were recently spotted together in all smiles at NPP flagbearer Dr. Bawumia’s engagement with members of the creative arts industry.

I’m staying quiet for now, but not for long – Shatta Wale on Sally Mann attacks

Shatta Wale has addressed the ongoing criticism and disrespect directed at him by media personality Sally Mann, who has consistently been outspoken against him.

Sally Mann, known for her blunt remarks, has frequently labelled the dancehall artist a “failed musician” and used various media platforms to criticise his career. She has repeatedly claimed that Shatta Wale’s musical influence has waned, often expressing support for his rival, Stonebwoy.

In one instance, Sally went as far as daring Shatta Wale to a physical fight, asserting that he wouldn’t stand a chance against her.

Recently, she alleged that there is a deliberate effort to elevate Stonebwoy while undermining Shatta Wale’s career, accusing the dancehall star of disregarding the importance of traditional media.

But in response to all these, Shatta Wale, during an interview on Angel FM, explained that he has refrained from taking action against Sally Mann’s constant attacks because any response would likely see him labelled as the villain.

“Look at how Sally Mann has been attacking and disrespecting me. If I strike back, people will say I don’t respect. I’m staying quiet for now, but I won’t let these attacks on my character go unchallenged anymore. I’m doing my own thing in my corner. Nobody should come and disturb me. If you worry me, I won’t respect the law because the law isn’t working in Ghana,” he fumed.

Shatta Wale further stated that he hasn’t taken legal action against anyone, particularly critics like Sally Mann, yet because he believes he won’t gain anything financially substantial from it.

“Look at how I’m disrespected all over radio stations in Ghana. I haven’t sued anyone because I know I won’t get a dime from them. They don’t have money,” he added.

Shatta Wale has said he’s not an industry boy, that’s why he’s not pushed – Sally Mann

Entertainment critic Sally Mann has attributed Shatta Wale’s lack of industry support to his own declaration that he does not belong to the entertainment industry.

She explained that Shatta Wale’s decision to distance himself from the industry has been a critical factor in his exclusion from such support.

“The reason why we have always pushed Stonebwoy is because Shatta has said he is not an industry boy. And if you’re not an industry boy, how do you want the industry to push you?” she questioned.

According to her, this stance has alienated him from receiving the kind of push other artists, like Stonebwoy, enjoy.

“As Stonebwoy ignored Shatta, see the way we have pushed his career higher. The awards he has won. So he should continue to ignore him,” Sally remarked.

She emphasized that Stonebwoy’s alignment with industry expectations has significantly contributed to his success.

Her comments shed light on the dynamics within Ghana’s music industry and how artists’ relationships with key stakeholders can influence their career trajectory.

  • “Listening to industry players against me won’t help you,” – Shatta Wale to Black Sherif

“Listening to industry players against me won’t help you,” – Shatta Wale to Black Sherif

Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has hit back at fellow musician Black Sherif after the latter made fun of him over his choice of underwear.

On November 20, 2024, Black Sherif took to Snapchat to mock Shatta Wale, alleging that he was wearing fake Calvin Klein underwear.

The post quickly ignited a fiery debate on social media, with fans from both camps voicing their opinions.

Shatta Wale responded to the mockery in an interview with Kumasi’s Angel FM, where he warned Black Sherif to be careful with his words and actions, stressing that he should avoid crossing boundaries that could damage their relationship.

“Black Sherif, the diamonds I wear are of the highest quality. It’ll take him 10 years to afford diamonds like mine. I’m not being dishonest; if he visits a diamond shop, he should ask about the price of VVS diamonds. Those aren’t for children. If he wants to humble himself, he can buy some within two months now.

“He thinks listening to industry players will help him. That’s the problem with our artistes who have issues with me; it’s like someone telling you, ‘Shatta Wale says you don’t dress well,’ and then you decide to mock me. You can’t mock me. He should stop that.”

He continued, “If anyone has advice for him, they should tell him to stop because he is towing a line that has never worked before.

“It’s like a phoning network that, when you make calls, it doesn’t go through. That line he’s towing, from Samini, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Yaa Pono; I can’t mention the number of people I have beefed with and me when I take a beef with you, I will make the song a hit. So, people should just talk to him to try to listen because, as you listen to interviews; that is when you can come to me and say, ‘Bro, I heard you had an interview with Rants and Bants that my attire isn’t good, but you see we don’t have that unity here,” Shatta Wale said.

    Background:

The feud between Black Sherif and Shatta Wale began when Shatta called out Black Sherif for disrespecting him on Snapchat, where the latter shared a picture of Shatta and mocked him.

This came after Shatta had previously criticized Black Sherif’s fashion choices on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions Podcast.

Angered by the mockery, Shatta took to a live session on X, warning that he would end Black Sherif’s career if the insults continued.

Blacko goes after Shatta Wale for wearing fake Calvin Klein underwear

Dancehall artist Shatta Wale caused a stir online last night after posting photos of himself in what looked like fake “Calvlein” underwear.

Black Sherif quickly jumped in, mocking Shatta by sharing the image on Snapchat with a sarcastic caption and a sound clip that seemed to tease the situation.

This came after Shatta had earlier criticised Black Sherif’s fashion sense, claiming some of his outfits were odd and suggesting he hire a stylist for a rebrand.

However, Shatta later revealed that the fake underwear was part of a planned stunt to spark attention ahead of his new music video, Wash.

To clear the air, he posted unedited photos showing him wearing real Calvin Klein underwear, proving the earlier image was intentionally altered.

Black Sherif, upon realising the ploy, quickly deleted his mocking post, while Shatta humorously declared that he had once again “scammed” his audience in the name of entertainment.

The saga has left fans amused, with many praising Shatta Wale’s ingenuity in keeping the spotlight on himself and fueling the creative energy within Ghana’s entertainment industry.

It is a disappointing statement – Sammy Flex on Sally Mann’s planned sabotage of Shatta Wale

Manager of Shatta Wale, Sammy Flex, has voiced his disappointment with Ghanaian broadcast journalist Sally Mann. Mann recently claimed that certain industry figures are conspiring to sabotage Shatta Wale’s career.

During an interview on Onua FM, Sammy Flex described Mann’s remarks as unfortunate. He emphasised that such a plot would not only harm Shatta Wale, the “On God” singer, but also impact the entire team associated with him.

“To be frank, I was disappointed when I heard the issue. I asked myself what at all he (Shatta Wale) might have done against someone, and they want to shame him and make sure anything he does won’t succeed.

I also asked myself that if we claim we are in the same industry and some people would decide to do this, what would they gain from it? And you know it won’t only affect him but those who work with him as well. It is a disappointing statement coming from Sally,” he said.

    Background

On November 10, 2024, journalist Sally Mann revealed that she and several other media figures had devised a plan to undermine dancehall artist Shatta Wale’s career.

Speaking on Adom TV, Sally explained that their main goal was to elevate Stonebwoy’s profile, aiming to help him secure a Grammy award, and this effort included marginalising Shatta Wale.

She mentioned that their motivation stemmed from what they perceived as Shatta Wale’s disrespect towards media professionals in Ghana.

  • Michy vows to keep relationship off social media over fears of her man being snatched

Michy vows to keep relationship off social media over fears of her man being snatched

Diamond Michelle, popularly known as Michy, the former partner of Shatta Wale and mother of his child, Majesty, has shed light on why she avoids sharing details about her love life on social media.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Michy revealed that publicising her relationships often leads to others trying to “snatch” her partner. To protect her privacy and peace, she has decided to keep her romantic affairs off social platforms.

Beyond her personal life, Michy discussed her entrepreneurial pursuits. Alongside ambassadorial roles, she has ventured into catfish farming, a thriving business she proudly highlighted.

She stressed the importance of diversifying income sources to achieve financial stability in Ghana, emphasising her dedication to building a secure future for herself and her son.

Michy also addressed comments recently made by Shatta Wale regarding their past relationship. During his appearance on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast with Efia Odo, Ama Burland, and Gisela Amponsah, the dancehall star reflected on their breakup. He expressed disappointment, claiming that Michy failed to appreciate his love and efforts to sustain their relationship.

Michy GH addresses Shatta Wale’s criticism

In an interview with media personality Nana Romeo on Thursday, 14 November 2024, Michy GH chose not to respond directly to Shatta Wale, saying that although she had many stories to share about their relationship, she preferred to keep silent.

She remarked, “Based on my long journey with him, I deserve appreciation.” Michy GH also questioned the accuracy of her former partner’s claims, suggesting that people should seek clarity on his statements.
She asked rhetorically whether another woman would have stayed with Shatta Wale as long as she did.

  • It’s all settings – Michy to Shatta Wale for saying she wasn’t appreciative

It’s all settings – Michy to Shatta Wale for saying she wasn’t appreciative

Michy has expressed that it is unjust and incorrect for Shatta Wale to claim that she did not appreciate his contributions during their time together.

In response to Shatta Wale’s recent comments, she said, “It’s all settings. When we decide to talk, it won’t be easy. Everybody knows the kind of home I came from before meeting him so he shouldn’t even be talking about appreciation. There’s a lot I haven’t said yet. When I met him, I took a huge risk with the state he was in. Which lady would have risked it all for him like I did?”

In an interview with Nana Romeo, Michy further explained her feelings, visibly frustrated, “I can’t pour all my strength and support behind someone to help them succeed, only for them to later say I didn’t appreciate them. How many people would leave a home like mine to support him the way I did? I don’t even want to be sad about it.”

During a recent conversation on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast, Shatta Wale stated that despite his best efforts to make their relationship work, he felt that Michy didn’t appreciate him.

He said, “I did everything in my power to make this relationship work, but she didn’t appreciate it.”

Despite this, Michy emphasized that after seven years, it’s time for both of them to move on and stop blaming each other for the past. She added, “After seven years, I think we should all move on and stop apportioning blame.”

Shatta Wale also shared that their relationship ended on bad terms and hinted that revealing the true cause of their breakup could lead to massive controversy.

“You see, Shatta Michy, she should know that I loved her so much that I didn’t want to leave her. But she wasn’t appreciative of all that I did for her. I don’t want to go deep into it because it’s a terrible memory,” he said during the interview.

Michy, on the other hand, disclosed that she is currently documenting her experiences and journey, with plans to release it soon to give the public a better understanding of her story.

Turning to her personal life, Michy also spoke about the peace she’s found in her current relationship, which she has kept private.

She revealed, “I’m dating someone on the low. I don’t think I want a public relationship again. You need to be very discerning to manage public relationships; it’s a lot. Everyone wants to talk about it.”

  • The plan was to ‘pension’ Shatta Wale, you are that difficult – Sally Mann tells Stonebwoy

The plan was to ‘pension’ Shatta Wale, you are that difficult – Sally Mann tells Stonebwoy

Entertainment pundit and show host Sally Mann has revealed that she, along with other media figures in Ghana, had devised a plan to undermine the career of dancehall artist Shatta Wale.

In an appearance on Adom TV on November 10, 2024, Sally explained that their main goal was to elevate Stonebwoy and support his path to winning a Grammy, deliberately sidelining Shatta Wale in the process.

She further claimed that their actions were driven by what she described as Shatta Wale’s lack of respect toward media personalities in the country.

“We held caucus meetings to push Stonebwoy towards winning a Grammy. The agenda was clear: we are supporting you (Stonebwoy) because Shatta Wale doesn’t respect traditional media. But now, you (Stonebwoy) are deviating from the plan by responding to Shatta Wale. How dare you respond to him?” she said.

“The agenda was to take you to the Grammys, and as for him (Shatta Wale), his career is over. He is now a pensioner. Look at how well you’ve done over the past three years, even with your 5th Dimension album. But now you’re making things difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale,” she added.

Sally also raised concerns about Stonebwoy’s habit of responding to matters that could be left ignored.

She warned that his frequent comments, particularly his statement that the Jejereje remix with Skrewfaze isn’t ideal, could damage his brand and hinder some opportunities.

“As a sensible person, you should know that your fans alone can’t get you a Grammy. If Skrewfaze jumps on a track, he can bring his fans into the mix too. You talk too much; PR work isn’t for everyone. Stop trying to do the job of a PR person. That’s why you have someone in charge to handle that for you,” she advised.

    Background

Sally Mann’s comments follow recent remarks from Stonebwoy, who stated that a remix of his new song Jejereje with hip-hop artist Skrewfaze would not be commercially advantageous for him.

The BHIM Nation president has recently faced backlash, with some accusing him of making unnecessary comments and excessively promoting himself during international interviews.

In a recent interview on the streets of London, Stonebwoy claimed that some Ghanaians often mistake him for a foreigner, especially a Jamaican.

He also drew criticism after estimating the value of his “expensive” outfit, noting that he purchased it from the same stores frequented by artists like Burna Boy and Wizkid.

Shatta Wale responds to Sally Mann’s ‘Stonebwoy Grammy agenda’ confession

Shatta Wale has fired back after Sally Mann claimed that she and several other key figures in the industry met privately to push Stonebwoy’s interests, sidelining Shatta Wale in the process.

In a recent appearance on an Adom TV show, Sally Mann revealed that she, alongside a few others, held a behind-the-scenes discussion with the aim of boosting Stonebwoy’s career.

She explained that the meeting was necessary because Shatta Wale, in her view, has shown little respect for traditional media.

Sally also used the opportunity to criticise Stonebwoy, accusing him of speaking excessively and unnecessarily in recent times.

“For the past three years, we’ve held caucus meetings to push your agenda because Shatta Wale doesn’t respect traditional media,” Sally said.

“We came together to push you towards winning a Grammy. But now, you’re deviating from the plan by responding to Shatta Wale. How dare you respond to him? The agenda is to sideline Shatta Wale and elevate you, but you’re making it difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale,” she added.

Sally Mann’s remarks have sparked a significant online debate, particularly given the ongoing rumours about efforts to marginalize Shatta Wale in the industry.

Shatta Wale has long voiced concerns about what he sees as a concerted effort by industry leaders to undermine him, claiming they’ve been sabotaging his career and blocking his access to opportunities. He has even highlighted that some media outlets have placed a ban on his music.

In light of Sally Mann’s recent comments, Shatta Wale, feeling vindicated, took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter.

“Dem say dem do meeting to bring me down, ooo,” he wrote in a mix of Pidgin and English, alongside a post on Twitter.

We are both loud people on social media, why would Shatta Wale come after my life? – Sally Mann

Entertainment pundit and show host Sally Mann has stated that Dancehall artist Shatta Wale poses no threat to her, even if she criticises him.

During a Joy Prime interview on November 7, 2024, the outspoken journalist noted that the “On God” hitmaker, like herself, merely voices his grievances on social media.

“I have been in the industry for 18 years, and I know the way I am an audio person, people are equally audio. So when people say the SM and Ashiaman fans, I also see them be audio people; they loud it on the internet, and it ends there.

I do not think Shatta Wale would send someone after my life because I criticised him,” she said.

Sally also encouraged journalists to remain outspoken and impartial in their criticism, without bias.

“So we need people who can criticise people in the industry. We all can’t be licking people’s feet. We should have people who can tell the truth as it is, and I am glad I am part of those people.

I want to be that voice, and I have been doing this for 18 years. People keep asking, Who am I? I am a nobody, but I have the platform they don’t,” she added.

Rapper and songwriter Pope Skinny has opened up about the sudden end of his friendship with Shatta Wale, attributing it to unfounded accusations.

Nearly six years after their fallout, Pope Skinny has finally admitted that his clashes with Shatta Wale were fuelled by immaturity on his part.

Speaking on Property FM in Cape Coast, he said, “I was young and our issues started like 2018, so it’s been 6 years, and looking at the way I think now if my issues with Shatta Wale happened today, I wouldn’t utter a word.

“At times when you explain yourself too much, then it turns into something else, but Shatta Wale said certain things that really hurt me.

“The allegations he made about me—if I didn’t clear it, maybe others will feel that’s how it is, but if it were to be now, like, I wouldn’t take it from that angle,” he told Amansan Krakye.

“We’ve had serious fights and serious arguments in the past that we resolved amicably, but he went too deep, and I also did the same in our latter issues,” he stated.

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale recently claimed that angels were present in his room while he recorded his hit song, On God. Known for his creativity and versatility, Shatta Wale released the track in 2022, quickly turning it into an anthem beloved by fans.

In an appearance on Rants, Bants, and Confessions with Efia Odo, the Killa Gi Mi hitmaker shared what inspired the creation of On God. He revealed that comparisons between himself and Black Sherif by industry insiders fueled his motivation to produce the song.

“When Black Sherif came out, there was a whole lot of comparisons, but I am the type of person who can break your career with one song.

When they were saying that, it made me record ‘On God’ and I was like, God, why are you letting these people do this to me? Let’s play something,” he said.

“I sat in my room, and when I was playing the song, angels were in my room, and that is what people don’t know. The song was so spiritual to me before it came out, so when I sit down and see all these comparisons, I go like, Please don’t try and fight what you don’t know,” Wale stated.

He went on to boast that in the Ghanaian entertainment fraternity, “I am like the phoenix.”

Sarkodie’s current level is proof of his wasted investment – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has voiced his disapproval of Sarkodie’s continuous investment in music videos, labelling it a waste of resources.

During an episode of “Rants, Bants, and Confession” aired on October 31, 2024, the “On God” hitmaker argued that the substantial amounts Sarkodie has spent in pursuit of international acclaim could have been better allocated towards real estate development instead.

“Sarkodie has worked so hard that he should be one of the people on the international market, performing like Burna Boy and Wizkid. But you see the work he has put into place, it’s a waste of investment.

Because he was just wasting monies he could have used to build malls and filling stations, yet he is still not where Wizkid and Burna Boy are,” he said.

Shatta Wale further noted that Sarkodie’s lack of international recognition compared to Burna Boy and Wizkid stems from his willingness to be used by industry players in Ghana.

“After all these efforts, he still can’t compare himself to the likes of those musicians because he is humble and has made himself to be used by that industry player. Artistes in Ghana don’t know they are doing business,” he added.

Dancehall artist Shatta Wale recently shared a surprising detail about his childhood savings during an episode of the Rants, Bants, and Confession podcast, which aired on October 31, 2024.

He revealed that at just 14 years old, he had accumulated an impressive 750,000 Ghana cedis (GH¢750,000) in his bank account.

Shatta Wale attributed this financial comfort to his affluent father, who would even provide him with foreign currency for his daily expenses.

He emphasised that growing up, he lacked for nothing, as all his needs were met without him having to spend any of his own money.

“I started saving at the age of 14 as a rich kid. I went to Prudential Bank at age 14 and told them I was 18 years old. My father used to give me pounds and dollars as daily upkeep, so at age 14 I had seven hundred and fifty thousand cedis.

“I was okay; I didn’t have to buy anything because he was buying all my clothing. I drove one time to the bank when my dad wasn’t home. The bank manager knew I wasn’t 18 though,” he said.

However, Shatta said he couldn’t retrieve the money when he later encountered hard times.

“When I became broke, I had actually forgotten about that money saved with Prudential Bank. It was only later, after my Bandana days, that I remembered. When I went to the bank, they said my name wasn’t in the system, so I couldn’t get it back,” he added.

Renowned Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has rekindled his long-running rivalry with fellow dancehall star Stonebwoy.

During the “Rants and Bants show hosted by Efia Odo”, Shatta Wale was heard expressly saying “Stonebwoy is just getting swollen-headed with fame.”

The two artists have been embroiled in a decade-long conflict that dates back to Stonebwoy’s entry into the Ghanaian music industry, where he rose under the mentorship of Samini, a veteran musician who also once clashed with Shatta Wale.

Their tensions famously escalated at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), where an altercation between them led to indefinite bans imposed by the event organizers, Charterhouse.

In 2021, the VGMAs board lifted these bans, opening the door for both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to participate once again. However, the SM Boss ultimately chose not to rejoin the awards scheme.

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has once again sought the forgiveness of former President John Dramani Mahama, asking to be pardoned for his past actions. He apologised for his public outbursts against the NDC, which had caused a strain in their relationship.

In a warm response, Mahama told him, “Oh, it’s nothing, you’re my son, and I hold nothing against you.”

In response, Mahama assured Shatta Wale that he would speak to party officials whom the musician might have offended in the past and seek to reconcile the differences.

Shatta Wale had previously been a favorite of Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) until he publicly requested the party to stop using his music for their rallies, campaigns, and other political events.

The rift began when the NDC believed Shatta Wale’s hit song “Mahama Paper” was an endorsement of the former president. Shatta Wale swiftly clarified his neutral stance, insisting that the party should pay if they intended to use the song for official purposes.
