Earlier, when videos of DJ Khaled’s hangout with Burna Boy went viral, Bulldog took to social media with statements that suggested that the Nigerian singer is living Shatta Wale’s dream.
“Shatta Wale, all your money cannot buy this right here… I know your time will come, but until then, honour those who honour you. It brings more blessings and supernatural growth. Stop being bitter… be happy for everyone,” Bulldog’s post read
Bulldog’s comments have sparked divided opinions among netizens, with some criticizing him for chastising his artiste in that manner.
DKB, who also waded into the conversation, believes that favour is the driving force for uplifting human beings and not money.
“Ah its favour, it finds you with time. Wale’s money couldn’t buy a collabo with Beyoncé but he got it,” he wrote beneath popular blogger Nkonkonsa’s post.

E-Forum: Unpacking Black Sherif’s ‘The Villain I Never Was’ album
After Bulldog expressed concern that Shatta Wale’s new album would not be as successful as Black Sherif, the two engaged in a verbal sparring match.
Bulldog (real name Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson) claims that upcoming albums by Sarkodie (‘Jamz’) and Shatta Wale (‘Gift of God’) won’t have the same level of streaming success as Black Sherif’s (‘The Villain I Never Was’).
He went on Hitz FM and said that Shatta and Sarkodie would not have as many listeners as the ‘Kweku The Traveller’ singer since they are not registered to a major international record company.
However, Shatta Wale did not like the comment and answered in a foul manner.
“Eeerrrhhh if Blacko’s album will do better than us kwraaa, we like, and we hear …at the end of the day Ghana wins … F**lish people …”
He went on to further attack Bulldog saying, “all be money matter – you too find something to do and stop that nonsense… MAKE MONEY in your own way.”
Reacting to the ongoing brouhaha from the camp of Shatta Wale and Bulldog, a self-styled man of God in the person of Evangelist Suro Nyame preaching in the streets of Kumasi didn’t hesitate to label Bulldog as wizard and evil for hating on Shatta.
Nana Asiamah Hanson popular as Bulldog has sent out pieces of advice to his former artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale via a Facebook post.
Bulldog who referenced his advice to Shatta Wale in a video of Burna Boy and DJ Khalid having a ‘Chillaxing’ moment shared, advised the Dancehall king to have honour.
He again intimated that Shatta Wale will definitely reach the greatest mile in his career but it can be achieved only if he learns to honour those who honour him.
Bullgod further gave counsel that the ‘On God’ hitmaker must stop being bitter and thus start to be happy for everyone and also be content with all he has.
Shatta Movement boss, singer and record producer Shatta Wale has finally revealed why he was absent from the 2022 Party in the Park held in the United Kingdom.
According to the singer and record producer, he had a misunderstanding with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the event organiser, Akwaaba Group, Dennis Tawiah.
Shatta Wale had expressed desire to be the sole performer for the event to highlight his Gift of God (GoG) album.
Mr Tawiah had not granted the request.
“I was in America, and I called Dennis and told him that they’ve done Party in the Park for the past years, but they haven’t done any special edition. So I’m about to launch my Gift of God (GOG) album, and I want you guys to make a special edition for me,” the SM boss said.
“This year’s Party in the Park should be Shatta Wale alone. Yes, me alone as the only musician,” Shatta Wale proposed.
In his interview with Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, he also disclosed he had also mentioned to Akwaaba Group CEO that his performance was going to be free of charge.
“I told him that this show that we are about to organise, I want him to take all the proceeds. I don’t need money. But just organise this thing for me so well so I can come with my team and perform,” the ‘On God’ hitmaker said.
Shatta Wale was later disappointed to see the official flyer for the event advertising other artistes to perform with him.
Since that went contrary to his proposed plan, he says he decided to charge a performance fee of GBP 100,000.
“The day I was supposed to fly, I told him, Dennis, if you want me to come, then you have to give me £100,000,” he explained.
After ‘Aabwoy’ purchased and flaunted a new Bentley, a fan of Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy descended on Shatta Wale in opulence.
According to the fan, Shatta Wale can never purchase such a car, even if given 600 years to do so!
StonebwoyStonebwoy is bragging differently this morning.
The ‘Baafira’ hitmaker has a new ride and he’s showing it off to the public.
The new ride is a Bentley, which Stonebwoy probably got from a rich friend or a company to promote – but this is showbiz and you gotta show off these things as your newest acquisitions!
Check out the car below…
As he flaunted his new ‘la borrow’ car, his fans are also proud and taking shots at Shatta Wale.
One fan said Wale could never acquire a car as expensive as the one Stonebwoy just bought.
“It will take shatta wale 600 years to get this,” the BHIM fan said.
An angry Wale fan clapped back: “Man do susu take buy car wale dey buy cars no now ooo and e dey give the street moni , u ever see say stonebwoy giv someone moni before or throw moni before 😂”
Shatta Wale‘s former manager, Bullgod has made it clear that he wasn’t impressed with the answer the musician gave the host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom Otchere when the broadcaster questioned why the famous musician does not have a record label despite his popularity and years experience in the industry.
According to the talent manager, he was surprised to see Shatta stammer and struggle in finding the right words to explain why he still hasn’t bagged a record deal.
“I didn’t know Shatta Wale stammered until he was asked by Paul Adom Otchere why he wasn’t on a label. Bra Charles, I know you are listening to us. You no dey stammer but as they asked the question… You should have seen him. You know what am saying,” Bullgod stated in the Pidgin language on Hitz FM.
He again detailed how a record label can help push the craft of top Ghanaian artists such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale who have gained prominence in the country.
“Won’t we be happy that all our musicians are there as Burna Boy kill like 1 million people, Stonebowy kill it, Shatta, everybody, we want that. It brings some joy,” said Bullgod.
Shatta on October 6 expressed his frustration over the fact that Ghanaian artistes are not being signed to international record labels.
He sighted rapper Black Sherif as the only Ghanaian act who has bagged a label that helps in the distribution and marketing of his songs.
“No that’s why I am saying… No, no, not that no label that even… not that no label doesn’t even want to meet Shatta Wale or something…What I am saying is, it’s not me. Many artistes in Ghana don’t have labels,” were the words of Shatta.
The dancehall artiste, while claiming that he is Blakk Rasta’s senior, said he should desist from throwing dirt on his name.
Blakk Rasta has, on various platforms, chastised Shatta for what he describes as being a bad example to the Ghanaian youth.
He has constantly spoken against Shatta’s display of wealth on social media, which he believes has no positive impact on his fans.
That’s not all; he has also severally tagged the dancehall artiste as a lousy drug addict.
But Shatta, in a bid to tackle Blakk Rasta, claims the ‘Barack Obama’ hitmaker cannot rub shoulders with him in terms of music.
While stressing that they are not co-equals, the SM boss stated that Blakk Rasta was still busily searching for a job when he (Shatta) released his first ‘Bandana’ album.
“You see someone like Black Rasta? I don’t know what his problem is. Whatever I am saying here now is even hurting him. As I am saying here that I’ve got money, its paining him. He goes to platforms to insult me. Telling me I behave stupidly and stuff. Blakk Rasta, I am your senior. I broke out in this industry before you. In music I am his senior. My song Bandana came out when Blakk Rasta was 38 years and looking for a job,” he stated on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana.
Dancehall singer, Shatta Wale has emphatically stated that most Ghanaian radio stations don’t play his music despite producing hit songs adding that he is not a favourite of people regarded as industry players.
For this reason coupled with the media’s failure to publish positive stories about his brand, Shatta, has declared that he can never get along with Ghana’s music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Good Evening Ghana with Paul Adom Otchere, the famous Dancehall musician posited that the industry has also failed to honour or celebrate his achievements which include recording a song with American singer, Beyonce.
The man who prides himself on being among the wealthiest entertainers in Ghana listed some of his many support to the less privileged in the society which according to him, is done in silence.
“The money I have is to my size. At least I am looking after kids. I have this back-to-school project that when I go to villages, I give people exercise books and stuff…but you see those things, the media won’t come, I won’t even call them because I am doing it for God. I want to help somebody too because God has helped me.
“I can’t get along with the industry if they don’t change. Me I can’t, me I can’t ever get along with Ghana music industry. You see the money I have, none of them has it even as of now. I am telling you the fact…the money I have around me they don’t even have it so I don’t want to deal with them. Musicians have been poor in Ghana, we’ve seen many,” said Shatta in his October 6 interview on Metro TV.
Also, the ‘On God’ singer named the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey, as one of his worst enemies adding that the politician has been sabotaging his career and growth in the local music industry.
According to him, Mark has attempted to end his career for no reason.
“Do you know when Mark Okraku-Mantey started blocking me? Started saying that I won’t make it, I won’t get anywhere in my life?”.
He also alleged that: “Mark Okraku-Manteyis the problem of this whole music thing, they are deciding. When he was Programmes Manager at Hitz FM, he said on the radio that because they were calling Shatta Wale for an interview and Shatta Wale didn’t come, so, they decided to create their own hero which was Stonebwoy.”
Camidoh has revealed he will still make submissions on fellow artiste, Shatta Wale if need be.
A few months ago, Camidoh rendered an apology to Shatta Wale after his comments claiming the latter’s demeanour gives the showbiz fraternity a bad image went viral.
In the ‘Grass to Grace’ edition of ‘Just Being Us’ on Akwaaba Magic, Camidoh explained to MzGee that rendering an apology to Shatta Walewas the right thing to do.
“I apologised with regards to the fact that I was trying to talk about people’s behavior or ways of dealing with issues in the industry which I wasn’t a fan of and I mentioned his name,” the Sugarcane singer said.
He added “In my apology, I said that I could have made my statements without mentioning his name or pointing fingers at anybody because that is wrong. My culture does not allow me to run down others.”
But, when MzGee asked Camidohif he has shied away from commenting on Shatta Waleafter the previous, the Sugarcane hit maker, retorted “I’ll always comment about him if the opportunity pops up. I am not going deliberately just comment about anybody but if I am being asked about someone and I think I have knowledge on, definitely I will share my knowledge and Shatta is no exception.”
Music lovers have finally been blessed with the official cover of Shatta Wale’smuch anticipated ‘Gift Of God‘ album set to be released in 7 days’ time.
The album which is to be launched on Monday, October 17, will also mark the African Dancehall King’s 38th birthday celebration.
Ahead of the double celebration, Shatta on Monday dawn published the cover of the GOG album which has been widely shared across social media platforms by his teaming fans and followers.
The album cover pictures the head of Shatta Wale on a gold coin with 7 stars and ‘GIFT OF GOD’ embedded on it. The incoming project took the musician almost 3 years to produce despite several calls for its release.
Shatta also added the first track on the album titled ‘Cash Out’ to his big announcement and urged fans to be patient.
“SHATTA MOVEMENT WAY OUR WAY !!!! Just follow the Journey and let’s move together !! Less talk more work !!! #GOGALBUM22,” read his Facebook post.
He has insisted that the GRAhas no right to hunt him for taxes adding that he (Shatta) struggled alone to attain this level of success in his career.
“GRAcan only come for my money when they have helped me to build this. If you don’t solve the issues for me, don’t come to me when I am making money,” he told Paul Adom Otchere on the Good Evening Ghana show.
He continued: “I can be in Ghana and they will go like GRA wants to tax me. Do they know when I started with my laptop and a single PC? You should have been there to help at that time. No government protects our craft. They don’t know how I’m making the money.”
Buttressing his points further, the Dancehall artiste described as unfair how some Black Stars footballers are massively benefiting from the government whiles musicians are being left to figure themselves out.
To this end, Shatta believes that when Ghanaian artistes like him struggle against the odds to make it, government agencies like GRA should keep off their wealth.
“They don’t buy me boots, give me bonus or even buy me first-class tickets like they do for Dede Ayew, Asamoah Gyan and other Black Stars players. I haven’t gotten any bonus from my music. My last bonus was my GHC30,000 GHAMRO royalties,” Shatta said.
He continued: “Recently GRA came on me hard that I couldn’t even behave well. I understand I am a citizen and I have to pay tax. But what di the government do for me as a citizen to pay tax? This is what I complain about every day of my life.”
The SM boss also addressed popular assertions that he often fails to relay his concerns in a subjective manner.
“Anybody who has a problem with how I communicate, they should carry their house matter and keep it like that.”
Shatta Wale has revealed the cover art for his impending Gift of God (GOG) album in a new post on Instagram.
The self-proclaimed Dancehall King is gearing up for the release of his latest studio album trailing previous ones namely; After The Storm (2016), Cloud 9 (2017), Reign (2018), and Wonder Boy (2019).
Announcing this new development to his legions of fans who are highly anticipating the mouthwatering album, Wale wrote;
“Praise be to his name
GIFT OF GOD ALBUM COVER
Thank you all 🙏❤️
The Most Important Thing Is The Story Not The Script, And That’s The Gift Of God.
Great Men Never Require Experiences. A Great Man is Hard On Himself, A small man is hard on others.
This is a story you need to know, A story That Has Never Been Told. A life of a man that is pure as Gold.
A man who fought for the masses, A man a who sacrificed himself for the masses. A man who chose God’s way over man’s dictations
It is said in his kingdom, which is the shatta movement empire and I quote “ Rule Number 1, Shatta Wale is Always Right.
Rule number 2, if you don’t understand, refer to rule number 1.
He came, he saw, He conquered, ladies and gentlemen, without further i do,i introduce THE GIFT OF GOD ALBUM.”
Tic Tac is the latest artiste to publicly accuse Deputy Tourism and Creative Arts Minister, Mark Okraku-Mantey, of sabotage.
This comes after dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, raised similar claims during an interview with MetroTV’s Good Evening Ghana.
Shortly after Shatta’s submissions against Mark, Tic took to social media to side with him.
He labelled the deputy minister a “bad spot” in the entertainment industry in an earlier tweet.
“The man called Mark Okraku-Mantey is a very bad spot in our Ghanaian entertainment space. Now occupying the Deputy Minister’s seat for the creatives makes it even worse for our motherland????????,” he wrote.
But stressing his point during a phone-in conversation with United Showbiz, Tic painfully narrated several instances where he had either been belittled or sidelined by Mark.
“When I activated the Tik brand, I organized a show in Bukom area. The next day on Hitz FM, they were discussing the programs that happened over the weekend, and Mark said he doesn’t know why I even organized my event. As a gatekeeper, it is dangerous for him to pass such a remark. As a musician of my calibre, this stage in my career is very difficult, so it took a lot of sweat and resources to do what I did.
“I confronted him in his office about why he made such statements and he did not even apologize. He was saying things that did not make sense to me. Fast forward, this person is now our deputy minister. Do you think that if something good is coming my way through him, he will allow it? Obviously, he will sideline and sabotage me.
“There was going to be a big show in Ghana, and the organizers contacted me for the gig. We negotiated but they couldn’t afford the price, so they went to Mark and informed him about the situation. Mark told them that I am just being pompous because I am even unable to realize such an amount at my own events,” Tic bitterly narrated.
He also disclosed his first hurtful encounter with Mark.
“Some time ago, I approached him to produce me, but perhaps he didn’t consider my talent worth producing.”
Dancehall singer, Shatta Wale, has explained that he doesn’t have the intention of rekindling his romantic affair with his ex-girlfriend, Michy.
According to Shatta, he wants Michy back but this time around, to simply play the role of a business partner.
Earlier, after the SM boss reached out to Michy for a music collaboration, there were speculations that he wanted to regenerate their love affair.
“In fact, let’s do another song. This time I won’t pay you in kind but cash. Kudos to BHIM nation,” Shatta wrote on social media after chancing on Michy’s performance at the BHIM concert.
But addressing claims that he is going after his ex-girlfriend in an interview on Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, the dancehall musician said;
“It’s not like I want Michy back but I believe that people want us to do something in relation to music. We gel together and people want a feel of that so.”
Asked how often they keep in touch, Shatta Wale said they usually connect because of their son.
“Once in a while I talk to her although it is not often. I try to be a good dad to Majesty. We are all living our separate lives now.
“I currently do not have a partner, I am single,” Shatta Wale added.
Shatta Wale has revealed he is currently single but the cold weather that follows the rain makes him consider finding a partner.
He said this on Thursday, 6 October 2022, on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, hinted at the type of woman he wants, and explained his relationship with social media figure Hajia Bintu.
“I’m single,” he said in responds to if he is seeing anyone after his breakup with former fiancée Michy.
He also stressed his last romantic partner was “Shatta Michy” and after her, he has been with no one else.
Host of the programme, Paul Adom Otchere, inquired if he is searching for someone to be with.
“Sometimes when the rain falls, it’s very cold so…” the ‘On God’ hitmaker laughed and indicated the type of women he is interested in.
“I’m looking for somebody that is more inclined and you know…” he pointed to his head as if to demonstrate what he meant.
Earlier, he shared he talks to Michy “once in a while. You know I try to be a good dad to Majesty [a son they share].”
“I don’t go there [Michy’s house] but you know I buy her stuff, give her gifts,” the multiple award-winning Ghanaian artiste said.
Reacting to rumours that he was secretly involved with social media influencer Hajia Bintu, Shatta Wale said, “She broke my heart,” before sharply adding amid laughter, “I’m lying.”
“Hajia is like a girl that I think I gave her a few lessons about how she could carry her fame and I’m so proud of where she’s taking her steps to because she’s listened to me and she’s moving like somebody who is on social media and really wants to be like a role model and I love it,” the singer born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr clarified his relationship with Hajia Bintu.
According to him, Hajia Bintu is “dating” and “has a boyfriend, a serious boyfriend, a Ghanaian. A very serious, hardworking businessman.”
“I’ve not seen Hajia Bintu for like two years now. We talk, she calls me, sometimes we have to meet but I’ll be in America or elsewhere,” the singer and record producer shared and as a matter of fact, explained he has had nothing sexual to do with Ms Bintu.
“Her name even came into my song spiritually,” he concluded.
On Christmas Day in 2020, Shatta Wale released a song titled ‘Hajia Bintu’ which has in its official music video the social media personality it is named after.
Entertainment journalist Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has expressed disappointment in the way musician Shatta Waleconducted himself in his recent interview on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana programme.
“My general assessment of the interview will be brief on your show because I’d like to save some points for another show,” Arnold told Ola Michael on Accra-based Peace FM before he stated this: “I believe Wale should sit up.”
“I say this from a good place,” he clarified.
Bringing up Thursday’s ‘Good Evening Ghana’ interview, Arnold made the observation that the host of the television programme, Paul Adom Otchere, had “told [Shatta Wale] he’s an industry leader, frontrunner” and he protested it “but the fact is, he is.”
“He is one of our leading figures who when he speaks people stand still to listen. Maybe he is in denial or he’s not being truthful to himself but he’s one of our leading figures, one of our leading artistes, one of our leading entertainers,” the creative arts pundit stressed.
“This is why when he gets an opportunity on such platforms, for me, I’d like to tell him to take it seriously,” he advised.
Mr Asamoah-Baidoo is of the opinion the reggae/dancehall star “tends to engage in too much comedy” and as a result, it has been difficult to outline his views on issues regarding “Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) and other stuff” from his Ghana Evening Ghana interview.
A media consultant, Arnold bemoaned that the ‘On God’ hitmaker missed an opportunity to “sell himself and the [creative] industry in a very good way” on a flagship political programme which seldom invites entertainers as guests.
“If we have issues, critical issues, address them in a way that if the President watches and hears, he will sit up,” he challenged.
Arnold highlighted Shatta Wale’s following and influence and emphasised, “because of this, when he gets such a platform, his communication and how he addresses issues is very critical.”
“But if you go and sit there and by the end of the show, it is GHS40, Okraku-Mantey and so on and so forth generating the trends, you have failed. It means you actually went to do comedy,” the entertainment journalist admonished.
“This is an advice to him, when you get platforms such as this, go with your A game so that by the end of the show, you feel that you’ve made an impact and inspired change,” Arnold encouraged.
Arnold, an award-winning entertainment pundit, also made an observation that conversations that have followed the ‘Good Evening Ghana’ interview have mostly been about the comic posture and prowess of the Shatta Movement (SM) boss.
For instance, “Shatta Wale is a comedian. Shatta Wale is funny. And aside everything else, the guy is a comedian. Shatta has to do standup comedy,” he cited.
“Come on. Come on, man!” Arnold concluded with a show of frustration.
Ghanaian Dancehall Musician, Shatta Wale has responded to critics who believe his yet-to-be-released album titled “Gift of God” will not leave up to the expectations compared to the latest album of fellow musician Black Sherif.
He said he does not care if his album does not catch up with the trends Black Sherif’s debut album has reached as presumed by the public.
On Thursday, October 6, 2022, ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ hitmaker, Black Sherifreleased his debut album entitled “The villain I Never Was” and got the entire country talking.
Most music lovers have since commended him for his fast rise in the entertainment industry and the work he has done on the album.
Fast forward, former Artiste manager, of Shatta Wale, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, indicated Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’s upcoming albums cannot compete with Black Sherif’s.
Bullgod who commented in an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, on Accra-based Hitz FM, opined that both Sarkodie and Shatta Wale are handicapped when it comes to reaching a wider audience, unlike Black Sherif.
“I woke up this morning and I was like wow; this month of October is a serious month because we have three of our artists releasing. Black Sherif just released his album.
“Sarkodie will be releasing his albums in a few days and Shatta wale will release. Now listen, from the top of my head I said Black Sherif will do better than all of them,” Bulldog said in the interview.
The reasons, he mentioned they are not signed unto any distribution companies like EMPIRE.
Reacting to the comment from his former manager and the growing critics from the many Ghanaians, the ‘On God’ crooner said such comparisons are needless.
According to Shatta Wale, should his fellow’s album do better than his, it projects Ghana’s name for good.
“Eeerrrhhh if Blacko’s album will do better than us kwraaa, we like and we hear… at the end of the day Ghana wins” and added that the music business they are all doing is about “money matter,” he posted on Facebook.
The firebrand musician further described those critics as “foolish people” and advised them to “find something to do” and make money in their own way” than engaging in what he said was “nonsense.”
Musician Shatta Walesays his request to collaborate with his ex-girlfriend Michy was not because he wanted them to rekindle their romantic relationship.
The dancehall artiste noted that he believes people like to see them together but not as a couple.
“It’s not that I wanted her back… but you know, I think people love our union not necessarily in a relationship form but we get together, so I think people wanted a feel of that,” Shatta Wale said.
This comes a month after Shatta Wale decided to set aside his differences and work again with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son.
The ‘My Level’ hitmaker was impressed after Michy was captured demonstrating the Shatta Movement (SM) sign at the 2022 Ashaiman to the World concert.
Shatta Waleshared the picture on his Instagram page, noting that he was happy to see Michy represent the Movement.
“This is how it should be done… We built this “Symbol of hope”. Thank you. Now I can sleep. In fact, let’s do another song. This time I won’t pay you in kind but cash. Kudos to BHIM nation.”
Michelle Diamond, also known as Michy, in her response was seemingly hesitant to accept the offer to collaborate with Shatta Wale again.
Taking to Snapchat, she noted that although Shatta Wale offered to pay her for the collaboration, he may complain later.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale disclosed that they have been able to develop a cordial relationship where they work together in the interest of their son, Majesty.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king said he is currently single and searching for a partner. He made the latest assertion on Good Evening Ghana on Thursday.
According to him, Sarkodie leans towards the hip-hop genre and as such, it is inappropriate for him to rock outfits that make him look very formal.
Speaking on the Good Evening Ghana show on October 6, 2022, Shatta Wale questioned why the rapper would want to appear like a politician or even a lawyer.
The dancehall artiste however, singled himself out while stating that he wants to look the part.
The Shatta Movement boss added that he would rather spend his money on more important things like cars, diamond necklaces and not on his appearance.
“I don’t want to speak, act, behave like them. I want to be like me. Now every artiste wants to act like a political, wearing Kaftan and suits all the time. Artiste? wearing kaftan? Davido is buying diamonds why don’t you buy some? He is buying expensive cars like Ferrari, Bugatti and the rest. Why don’t you also buy some? That’s what I am also focused on. As for Sarkodie, he could have been a good lawyer instead of a rapper. This is because of the way he dresses. The suit and kaftan is just too much,” he stated.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has fired heavy missiles at Deputy Tourism and Creative Arts Minister, Mark Okraku-Mantey, whiles raising several claims against him.
The self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ among other allegations said the Deputy Minister had sidelined him from several business opportunities adding that he has the habit of painting him black to foreign investors.
A highly charged Shatta Wale who made an appearance on the October 6 edition of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana programme, said for years Mr. Okraku-Mantey together with the likes of Andy Dosty and others he labeled as ‘industry gatekeepers’ have managed to shut the door to some of his money-making avenues.
Emphasizing the extent to which he believes these people will go to see him fail, Shatta said if his project with Beyonce had gone through them, he would have missed out on such an opportunity.
“If he doesn’t stop this habit of sidelining me, things won’t work out well for him. For years industry gatekeepers including himself have been brushing me aside. I see Mark Okraku-Mantey stopping me from playing shows and I go mad. Those people decide what to do with us. For instance, if Beyoncé had made the mistake of going to Mark or even Andy Dosty, I wouldn’t have had that feature. They’ll tell her I’m an armed robber,” he fumed.
“They are not allowing us to work the way we want to and that is why people are not coming into the country to help,” The Shatta Movement boss added.
Touching on Okraku-Mantey’sclaims that his ministry did not have a say in the selection of artistes for the Global Citizens Concert and that they only worked on their terms, Shatta Wale said;
“A whole minister sits on TV and tell us that people flew into this country to decide for you? Are you serious? Mr. President if you don’t sack this man…”
Artiste manager, Lawerence Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgodsays Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’s upcoming albums cannot compete with Black Sherif’s debut dubbed the ‘The Villain I Never Was’.
Speaking to Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, Bullgod mentioned that Sarkodie and Shatta Wale are handicapped when it comes to reaching a wider audience, unlike Black Sherif because they are not signed on to distribution companies like EMPIRE.
According to him, Black Sherif’s involvement with companies like EMPIRE puts him miles ahead of other Ghanaian musicians.
“I woke up this morning and I realized that this month is serious because we have three of our artistes releasing albums.
“On top of my mind, I said Black Sherif will do better than all of them. Black Sherif has a label and they don’t.
“Shatta and Sarkodie are all about to compete with EMPIRE. They don’t have the strength to do that.”
Bullgod added that it will only take a miracle for them to reach a wider audience.
“Empire is a very big company and in terms of reach, Sarkodie and Shatta do not have what it takes. It will only take a miracle.”
Bullgod took the opportunity to throw some light on the importance of being signed to major record labels to widen the reach of musicians.
According to him, Ghanaian musicians need to understand that musicians cannot be in the music business and expect to do everything alone.
“Music has changed. It’s been like this for a very long time, but we did not understand the system at the time. You can’t do this alone. Bullhaus entertainment cannot do this.
“You can’t compare KiDi to Vanilla; you will miss the point,” he said on Hitz FM.
Black Sherif on Thursday released his 14-track debut album titled ‘The Villain I Never Was’ via RBA / EMPIRE.
On the other hand, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale are set to release their albums later this year.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has fired heavy missiles at Deputy Tourism and Creative Arts Minister, Mark Okraku Mantey, whiles raising several claims against him.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king among other allegations said the Deputy Minister had sidelined him from several business opportunities adding that he has the habit of painting him black to foreign investors.

I see Mark Okraku Mantey stopping me from playing shows and I go mad.
Touching on Mark Okraku’s claims that his ministry did not have a say in the selection of artistes for the Global Citizens Concert and that they only worked on their terms, Shatta Wale said;
“A whole minister sits on TV and tell us that people flew into this country to decide for you? Are you serious? Mr. President if you don’t sack this man…”
Appearing on Accra-based Hitz FM as a guest entertainment pundit, Ghanaian creative arts figure Bullgod has projected Black Sherif’s album, ‘The Villain I Never Was’, will perform better than that of Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’s.
“I woke up this morning and I was like, yo, this month of October is a serious month because we have three of our artistes releasing: Black Sheriff just released, Sarkodie will release in a few days, then Shatta will release,” he said.
“Now listen. Off the top of my head, I’ll say, Black Sherif will do better than all of them,” he projected.
“If you look at the numbers, Black Sherif has a label. They don’t,” Bullgod explained.
“Shatta and Sarkodie are about to compete with EMPIRE [the record label Black Sherif is on] and they don’t have the strength to do that,” he stressed.
Formerly called Bulldog, the music talent manager argued that “unless some miracle [happens],” his former artiste, reggae/dancehall star Shatta Wale and rap star Sarkodie cannot have the marketing reach and success that the newcomer Black Sherif will with his maiden album courtesy his American record label.
“Music’s changed – I mean, it’s been like that for a very long time but it’s just that we really didn’t understand the system at the time. You can’t do this alone,” Bullgod again said clarifying this position and highlighting the importance of a record label partnership.
“It’s not about the talent, it’s about the reach,” he added and stressed you cannot compare an independent artiste to one that is signed and assisted by a label.
Emphasising that radio personalities and pundits, like himself, must keenly educate themselves, he concluded: “If these albums come out and Black Sherif’s is doing well, we shouldn’t come and sit here on radio” and do uninformed comparisons.
Today, Thursday, 6 October, 2022, Black Sherif released his 14-track debut album which comes ahead of industry seniors: Sarkodie’s ‘Jamz’ advertised to be released on October 11 and Shatta Wale’s ‘Gift of God (GoG)’ advertised to be released on October 17.
Another newcomer, rap star Amerado who has a hit collaboration called ‘Abotre (Patience) with Black Sherif, is set to release his ‘GINA: God Is Never Asleep’ album on October 25.
Shatta Wale, the self-acclaimed dancehall king, has eulogised Beyoncé, the American singer and songwriter for the collaboration they made on her ‘Lion King’ album.
According to him, the American songstress came at a time when many Ghanaian industry players, whom he refers to as gatekeepers, saw him as a demon in the industry.
Speaking to Paul Adom-Otchere on Metro TV’s ‘Good Evening Ghana’ programme on Thursday, October 6, 2022, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, as he is known in private life indicated that if Beyoncé had not come at the time she did, he wouldn’t have gotten anywhere.
“You see Beyoncé, it is God that sent her and mommy wherever you are, God bless you. Because I am the demon in my country but you came as my angel,” Shatta Wale told Paul Adom-Otchere.
To him, “if those opportunities had not gotten into my life, I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere.”
The ‘I know my level’ hitmaker kept mentioning the name of Mark Okraku-Mantey, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts as one of the industry gatekeepers who tried as much as he could to block him from succeeding in the music industry.
“…musicians have been poor in Ghana ooo, we have seen musicians that have come and gone and come and gone, we always try to talk to them like this and they don’t even say their feelings. Me, my heart is worrying me, I want to get money…
“Do you know when Mark Okraku-Mantey started blocking me? Started saying that I won’t make it, I won’t get anywhere in my life…?” Shatta Wale quizzed.
He recalled an instance where the deputy minister tried to talk him down on live radio, disclosing that he refused to respond to an interview on the radio and since then, Mark Okraku-Mantey who was then the Programmes Manager at Hitz said the station will create their own hero to rival Shatta Wale, in this instance, Stonebwoy.
“Mark Okraku-Mantey is the problem of this whole music thing, they are deciding. When he was Programmes Manager at Hitz FM, he said on radio that because they were calling Shatta Wale for an interview and Shatta Wale didn’t come, so, they decided to create their own hero which was Stonebwoy…,” Shatta Wale alleged.
Rapper Blacko, on Thursday, October 6, will release his maiden album ‘The Villian I Never Was’ after serving music lovers with monster hit singles.
The rapper’s upcoming project has been tipped to break the record as the most-screamed Ghanaian album across all digital platforms due to the positive feedback it has received so far.
Not only is Black Sherif expected to win big in Ghana, but also, fans are hopeful of him topping international charts and winning big on the African continent.
On Monday, Blacko published the official trailer of his album, which was well promoted across all social media platforms by his teeming fans, including colleagues.
In a tweet, rapper Sarkodie commended the young champ for his incredible work.
He wrote that “BLACKO’s attention to detailing” was on point.
On Tuesday morning, Shatta sent a notice to the general public concerning the major project that has taken him years to produce and share with fans.
“October is for GOG. Don’t make that mistake,” the dancehall singer on October 3 wrote on his Facebook page.
Already, there have been several campaigns from the Shatta Movement camp, all in support of the GOG album.
The release date is special to the Ghanaian musician as it will mark his 38th birthday.
During a performance at the SummerStage Festival in Crotona Park, New York City on August 13, Shatta dropped the major announcement after postponing the GOG album for years.
“I have this album that I have been creating for three years and everybody has been talking about it and asking ‘when are you gonna drop the album?’
“Today you guys are the special people with my press release date. On the 17th of October, I am gonna release the Gift of God Album and you guys are so special, you guys are the first. I have not told anybody and I know the press is gonna take it. I love you guys, you guys are looking like angels. Clap for yourselves,” said Shatta who couldn’t hide his excitement.
Meanwhile, Shatta has named Nigeria’s Naira Marley as one of the musicians on his album, with fans anticipating major surprises on the project.
He has charged him to listen to the cry of citizens as they believe that their president hasn’t made any major impact on their lives ever since he came into office.
Shatta, on Monday afternoon, took to his social media page to detail the true state of the nation under Akufo-Addo, adding that the president’s officials have failed to tell him the real state of Ghana’s economy.
“It is just that some of us in this country are cowards,” Shatta said.
According to the famous singer, the president needs to be made aware of his shortcomings, which people on the streets say are worse than the former president, John Mahama.
“Let me tell you the truth about what is happening on the streets. The street is hot. Mr President, the street is hot, I am telling you something…Mr President, I am telling you, the country is not going well.
“People just want to come follow you and make money and just go, and your legacy won’t be the legacy you’ve dreamt of. I beg you, ebi Ghana, we all dey oo,” said Shatta Wale in the video sighted by GhanaWeb.
The Ghanaian entertainer added that not much has been achieved in the entertainment sector under the leadership of the president, adding that Ghanaians are pissed at his leadership.
“We were in Ghana when they said Mahama wasn’t doing anything, but as for you, the people say you are not even trying. Mr President, forget everything. That is what I am telling you. They say you no dey try. Common entertainment sef they say you no dey try. People are pissed on the street, I am telling you something,” he said.

Ghanaian Dancehall Artiste, Shatta Wale born Charles Nii Armah Mensah says he can never be sidelined in the music industry.
To him, if he did not feature on a show, no one should blame it on him being sidelined.
Rather, they should blame it on his price tag which may have been way above the budget of the organizers.
Shatta Wale revealed that he charges $200k for a show so claims of him being sidelined can never be true.
After the Global Citizens Festival, music lovers in Ghana could not fathom why Shatta Wale did not feature.
There were claims that some industry persons kicked against organizers using him but in a post on Facebook, the artiste seems to have addressed the conversation ongoing.
He said “Don’t use the word sidelined ,when my price is $200k …am not a lines man
GOG GO PEPPER DEM“.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has labeled as impossible claims that he is often sidelined by some event organizers in the country.
The dancehall artiste said he usually charges US$200, 000 and above for shows and because some people cannot afford that, he (Shatta Wale) willingly decides not to participate in their event.
Shatta’s comments are on the back of claims that he was sidelined for the 2022 Global Citizen Concertwhich saw the likes of Usher, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Gyakie, Tiwa Savage, Oxlade, and many others perform at the Independence Square in Accra.
Scores of individuals including Akuapem Poloo, Afia Schwarzenegger, and many others have wondered why the dancehall artiste wasn’t billed for the prestigious event which featured most A-list artistes.
Critics trolled Shattawhile stating that he was sidelined by the event organizers after they sought validation from some showbiz industry bigwigs and got bad feedback about him.
Shatta Walehas requested that all his loyal fans on Facebook should pull down their profile photos by keeping them blank ahead of the release of his much-anticipated Gift Of God (GOG) album logo.
Lo and behold, the request from the leader of the Shatta Movement has been granted by his fans.
Shatta after taking the lead by removing his photo has witnessed hundreds of his fans join the campaign of removing their profile photos on social networking platforms.
“Keep your profile picture space blank like mine and let’s pray for a day before I drop THE NEW GOG LOGO FOR OUR ALBUM. God bless you all for waiting! It’s called patience,” read his first announcement on September 29.
In a separate post, the Dancehall singer added there is a special blessing for fans who obey his directive.
“Am sorry but if you don’t change your profile to blank, you won’t get the blessings I am asking God for us all. It’s a Gift from God. #Beleive.”
As earlier announced by the famous singer, his much-talked-about GOG album will be released on October 17, 2022, to mark his 38th birthday.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has asked all showbiz discussion platforms to seize any further intentions to throw more dirt on his forthcoming ‘GOG’ album.
The Dancehall artiste who intends to release more songs off the album has asked such media platforms to hold back any attempt around it other than to promote it.
Shatta, whiles reiterating that this particular upcoming album isn’t meant for the music industry, also established that his main objective is to quench the thirst of his fans who are anticipating the “masterpiece.”
“Get ready for some singles on the #GOGALBUM. Pls and pls and pls. I am not doing this album for the Ghana music industry. I am doing this as my job to fill the masses with peace and love. I don’t want any negative discussion of my album on any platform. It’s a warning,” he wrote on Facebook.
“I didn’t come here to join unions. I came with mine and that is SHATTA MOVEMENT,” Shatta added.
In the midst of a rigorous fight with the media, particularly entertainment pundits and radio presenters, Shatta Wale is to set up his own online radio platform.
Named ‘SM Radio’ with the slogan ‘Music 4 life’, the platform, which is yet to be launched, intends to serve as a medium for pushing his craft.
On Thursday September 22, 2022, the dancehall artiste shared the station’s artwork and transmission link via his social media platforms.
He made the announcement while urging his fans to visit the platform and enjoy his songs.
Although Shatta Wale made his intention of opening a radio station known to the public sometime in 2015 during an interview with Hitz FM’s Dr. Pounds, this is the closest he has gone towards achieving that dream.
It also appears the right timing because of his constant feuds with the Ghanaian media which have heightened in recent times.
Shatta Wale and the Ghanaian media
Shatta Wale has had a strong and lasting conviction that the Ghanaian media does not support artistes like him, who are representatives of the country on the global front, through music.
He has consistently accused the Ghanaian media of only purporting a negative agenda and projecting the wrong image of artistes in the country.
However, the dancehall artiste has also come under scrutiny several times for not pulling his weight as he should.
A couple of journalists and pundits, including Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, Blakk Rasta, and Sally Mann, have labeled him a ‘local champion’, an inconsistent and confused artiste, among others.
Multiple award winning Ghanaian singer, Ahmed Muhajid Bello, known within the showbiz circles as Fancy Gadam is 10 years old since bursting onto the music scene.
As part of activities lined up to celebrate his 10 years on the music scene, Fancy Gadam will hold a musical concert at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on October 22, 2022.
The concert is being organised by the artiste to celebrate his achievement on the music scene, entertain his fans and also to thank them for supporting him throughout his music career.
The Tamale-based musician, who is credited with a number of hit songs, said: “The concert would be one of the biggest ever to be held in the country, and the target is to fill up the stadium to the rafters.”
As one of the most sought-after performers from the Northern Region, Fancy Gadam will be performing to over twenty thousand music lovers at the anniversary concert.
He is expected to entertain music fans with his popular dancehall songs such as ‘Turn Up’, ‘Concrete’, ‘Bie Gya’, ‘Naayo Koomi’, ‘We Dey Collect’, ‘Naawuni Yiko’, among others.
Speaking in an interview ahead of the concert, he said, “My dream was to become one of the biggest music stars from the north, and so far the dream is on course, and I would like to say a big thank you to all my fans.”
He has won many awards which include Hiplife Song of the Year and Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year with his hit song, ‘Total Cheat’ at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
He has also appeared on many musical concerts held in the country and performed with music stars like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Samini, among others.
Fancy Gadam has had collaborations with popular musicians like Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, Patoranking, among others, and popularly referred to as the ‘King of the North’ in the music industry.
Fancy Gadam first burst onto the Ghanaian music scene in 2012 with his hit song ‘total cheat, featuring heavy weight Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie.
Addi Self, a former SM Militant, has disclosed that he had a friendly bond with Shatta Wale until the dancehall musician signed him onto his label.
The Self Nation leader in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Paula Amma Broni disclosed that he was more like a younger brother to Shatta.
Their friendship birthed collaborations including their 2017 single titled ‘Ghetto Star’.
Commenting on the circumstances that led to their sour separation and his exit from Shatt Movement, Addi Self blamed it on the ‘contract’ he signed to officially join Shatta’s camp.
“It was a great relationship until I was signed on that label. When I met Shatta at first, it was like a brother and sister relationship. We met on Facebook and then we met in real life and started to work things out like a family.
“We did a whole lot of singles; we have ‘Ghetto Star’. It was a great one featuring Shatta Wale, that was one of the best singles I recorded with him. From there we had the chance to record ‘Taking Over’. It was a great vibe and a learning process for me when I was in the Movement,” Addi Self told GhanaWeb.
The dancehall singer, speaking on Talkertainment, credited Shatta Wale for providing him with a bigger platform to sell his music, adding that he left Shatta’s camp when his contract expired.
“So after ‘Taking Over’, Shatta Movement decided to sign me even though I had my own Self Nation Record Label I was doing. They decided to sign me on their label and so, I had to join Shatta Movement as an SM Militant…we worked together and signed a contract for three years and when it was over, Addi Self had to move on,” the ‘Loyalty’ singer added.
In an effort to critique certain celebrities, certain radio hosts and entertainment experts have recently come under fire from the public for “verbally abusing” those individuals.
They were accused of being overly sentimental due to their word choice and the apparent sarcasm with which these experts presented their thoughts.
A portion of the public also thinks that they haven’t done their homework when it comes to investigating and presenting facts about subjects.
Recently, some of these radio hosts and entertainment commentators have not been kind to artists like Shatta Wale and Sarkodie.
In the case of Shatta Wale, he has faced constant criticisms by a popular outspoken pundit, Sally Mann, who labeled him a local champion, an inconsistent, and a confused artiste.
Sarkodie wasn’t also spared by the likes of DJ slim, Socrate Safo, and others for stating that radio presenters who haven’t attained the trajectory of working with the BBC have no moral right to criticize his works or question his growth.
However, analyzing all these, Andy Dosty thinks that his colleagues need to remain absolutely professional when carrying out their duties.
While admitting that some pundits or journalists overreact in delivering their judgments, the ‘Daybreak Hitz’ host in an interview with Graphic Showbiz said;
“Radio presenters have always had their opinions on topics just as Graphic Showbiz has columnists who share their opinions on issues but I admit that sometimes, we overdo it. The question I want to ask is concerning those criticizing, are they doing it wrongly or are they being objective?
“As long as we are objective in our criticisms, I don’t have any problem with that but if not, then we are obviously not doing the right thing and we are not being professional. We must strive to be objective at all times. Radio presenters have their say, they have an opinion just like editorials but if they have to say something they must say it well and also be objective.
Otherwise it is like saying that Kwaku Sakyi-Addo or Francis Doku or Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo shouldn’t have an opinion, there must be such people who come out to share their opinions.”
Entertainment pundit, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog, has disclosed how Shatta Wale cried when he visited him in cells in 2014.
On an Adom Radio program, he admitted that he had tears in his eyes and had to fight so hard to keep them from falling when the dancehall artist sobbed.
“Shatta came to visit me because he hadn’t visited me in two weeks. I was telling them not to come around and all, but then, there was one day when Shatta said, no way, he wasn’t going to come.
“When he came, I was behind the counter and he stood in front of the counter. So, when you are called, you will go and check. Peeping to know who is looking for you is called ‘catching 11’.
“When I peeped to see him, he immediately started crying. He cried like a baby. That made me teary. It was just that day,” he said.
He also mentioned that after his arrest, he was locked in cells for a month without getting the chance to breathe fresh air from outside or see the sun except when he was going to court.
“I slept in the cells for a month. If you are going to court, you are handcuffed. That’s the only time you see the sun. It was there that I remember crying in the police cells.
“There was one day, but the tears didn’t drop. If it dropped, I would have been disturbed. I had tears in my eyes,” he added.
Ghana’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie has for years witnessed some radio presenters and industry players downgrade local artistes for what they term as failure to go international with their music or mount bigger platforms like some of their African counterparts.
Sarkodie in a recent interview emphasized that local radio presenters who have equally not made any big move in their career do not have the moral right to criticize artistes for not gracing international platforms.
He subtly jabbed radio presenters who have over 20 years of work experience but still haven’t recorded any milestones. These same individuals turn to ‘disrespect’ and pressurize musicians for not winning big for the country adding that these presenters don’t create opportunities for them.
“It is easy for someone to sit on the radio and say that Shatta Waleor Sarkodiedidn’t do this or that. I know that we the artiste have things we should do because every time there is a step but if you are on a Ghanaian radio for close to 20 years and you’ve not moved to a platform like Choice or BBC, I don’t think you have the moral right to talk about Ghanaian artistes who have not moved,” said Sarkodie in an interview which has gone viral.
The rapper also took the opportunity to explain how late Ghanaian BBC journalist, Komla Afeke Dumor gave him a big spot on the BBC.
IN 2013, Sarkodie was featured in an interview with BBC Africa’s Paul Bakibinga.
“I for instance was on BBC because of Komla Dumor, he made it possible,” he added.
Shatta Wale went live on Instagram on Wednesday evening to demonstrate to his over 3.9 million followers how to undergo proper facial treatment for clearer and even skin tone.
According to Shatta, he constantly receives compliments from individuals who have for years wondered how he’s been able to keep a smooth face like a white man.
In a comic demonstration, the celebrated dancehall singer, who has a huge following across all social media platforms, poured a small amount of handwashing soap into his left hand and gently rubbed it on his face.
“So you people are here. I don’t have much time, but I just want to show most of you how to do this facial thing. A whole lot of people have been asking me, Shatta, what have you been using on your face that you look so beautiful like a white man?
“Please, I have some things I have been using that you guys don’t know. People think that to do a facial job is an easy thing but it is not really an easy thing,” the musician stated in the viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on September 7.
The said video has generated over 2,000 comments with friends and colleagues describing Shatta Wale as a comedian.
Reacting to the 8-minute and 43-second clip, his fans laughed their hearts out at the video that captured Shatta wrapped in a white towel around his waist and head.
Ghanaian rapper Tulenkeyhas announced that his EP named ‘Cassanova’ will be out soon but for starters, he has released a single that highlights how some entertainment personalities have been wrongly judged for various reasons.
The song, ‘Point of View,’ released on Wednesday, September 7, has already made it to YouTube’s trending music in Ghana.
Tulenkey proved how versatile he can be when it comes to music with his narration of various stories in a single song.
This latest release focused on the life stories of Abena Korkor, Asamoah Gyan, NAM1, Shatta Wale, Afia Schwarzenegger, Wendy Shay, and Pappy Kojo, having been tagged as controversial for just living their lives.
Also, Ghana’s first president, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, was captured in the new tune.
According to the rapper, Nkrumah will be so disappointed in how the country is currently being run.
The celebrated rapper known for his 2018 hit single ‘Child Abuse’ lamented how he has been tagged as a ‘womanizer’ for the kind of songs he produces.
Popular songs among them include ‘Your Girlfriend’ and ’50’.
Rapping in Twi, he narrated what he suffered in the music industry.
“Why you no dey post ndwom no we gyae or you pause? Cause we still dey wonder if you go drop a song…Used to be on Twitter trending number one but now I’m in a box. Everybody quick to spread a rumour when you hit a brick. Ghanafo ne misinformation.”
The show was massively attended by music lovers from across the continent.
Three years down the lane, Shattahas expressed his worry over the decision by organizers to tag Stonebwoyas a “very special guest” in his own motherland in the 2022 edition of the festival, while the big spot as a headliner has been handed over to ‘foreigners’, Davido and P-Square from Nigeria.
Following the announcement of the Afro Nation’s phase one artiste list, the outspoken dancehall musician, Shatta, who has for years been fighting for the promotion of Ghanaian music and its artiste took to his officail Snapchat account to vent his frustrations.
“How can you be a special guest in your own country and they are happy about it,” read the post, which was in connection to the music festival.
According to him, it was funny for organizers to overlook Stonebwoy, one of Ghana’s biggest musicians, and wondered why the artiste gave consent to the line up.
Talent manager, Bulldog, has declared that he will never join the movement to publicly trash Shatta Wale in an effort to damage the brand.
The singer’s former manager opened up about the struggles and sacrifices he made to make Shatta a household brand.
He won’t publicly criticize him or make any accusations against the man he devoted his time to because of these and other reasons.
Bulldog in an interview with a blogger said he does well to reach out to the artiste behind closed doors instead of publicly calling him out adding that he needs to protect his brand.
“If I had the opportunity to speak to the president behind closed doors, I wouldn’t even speak out there for him to hear it because those are my views.
“He (Shatta) is my junior brother so, I tell him things in private, something the public wouldn’t hear about. It is a brand I need to protect. It is a brand I sweat, bled, and put my time and effort into so how am I joining the people that want to break the brand and break the brand together? No, I won’t do that,” Bulldog declared in the interview monitored by The Independent Ghana.
Bulldog the CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment in July announced that he has parted ways with Shatta Wale, however, they remain good friends. He again stated reasons why he never made a public announcement following Shatta’s exit.
“If people are no longer working together, it doesn’t mean they are not talking or are no longer friends…when I started working with him (Shatta) nobody did a story. It wasn’t announced that Bullhaus is handling Shatta so why should the separation be announced?” he quizzed during an interview on 3FM with Caleb Nii Boye.
After suffering several verbal attacks from industry colleague Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, has noted that Shatta Wale, will do anything for attention.
He said, even if it means putting dirt on the brand of his colleagues.
He explained that his relationship with Samini was the beginning of Shatta’s unexplained jabs thrown at him, however, for the sake of peace, he held himself from hitting back at him in all those instances until 2019, when tempers flared on stage at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Speaking on VladTV, Ghana’s dancehall artiste recalled how his colleague ruined his glorious moment when he walked on stage to pick up his award for the ‘Best Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year’.
Although they managed to patch things up after their fight on the VGMA stage, Stonebwoy still labels the love from Shatta as fake.
This is because he continues to jab him at the slightest opportunity, all to create a bad picture of him.
Commenting on his current relationship with Shatta, he noted that the singer can’t turn over a new leaf.
“The last time he tried something on me again over something, dah dah dah, and you know, I hardly talk about him in the media or try to say something about him or put some dirt on him.. You know, that’s who he is, I say without any apology because we know who we know. It’s as simple as that,” he said.
The Dancehall singer added: “…peace is the ultimate, you know, so we managed because we have a whole lot of following and people looking up to us. We managed to come to a nice consensus, but you know, it’s never been genuine because you can’t force people to be who they’re not.
“Subsequently, the man (Shatta) goes on to do him and be him but the truth is that I am used to that. I laugh about it because I know he’s joking with it basically. Even if it’s no joke, that’s the extent of it. It can’t get any worse. I mean, come on…but if necessary, I will come out and say what I have to say, but it is no more necessary.”
Fans of singerWiyaala have reacted to a post she shared on social media indiating that organizers of SummerStageNYC disrespected her.
Some concerned Ghanaians have taken to her comment section to call out persons she mentioned in her post including Shatta Wale’s team.
According to a long post on her Facebook page, she explained why she rejected a presentation of Citations of Merit by the President of The Bronx Borough, Vanessa L Gibson backstage.
She alleged that the only artiste billed to perform on the show with her might have been behind her failure to receive an award on stage.
Parts of the post read: “Initially Vanessa blamed the organisers (SummerStage NYC), but eventually said that she had been blocked from calling Wiyaala forward by Team Shatta Wale. Wiyaala does not accept awards or citations from any organization backstage.”
A host of music lovers who are appalled by the development called for the head of Shattaif it is proven that he was the one who orchestrated the supposed ‘disrespect’.
Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has however not responded to the allegations levelled against him.
UNNews Chief Editor, Ben Dotsei Malor, also reacting to the post wrote: “This is appalling, awful, and disrespectful, and must be condemned. Did Shatta Wale and his team actually prevent the presentation of the award to their Sister Wiyaala?
“What did the organizers do about this? Clearly, someone needs to render an unqualified apology – though I know Wiyaala is too good to live (or perform) for awards.
“Dear Wiyaala: thank you for saying, “We now move on. Case closed.” That’s maturity, stability, and wisdom. Sorry for what they did. They are wrong. Keep strong. Keep on excelling. Keep on roaring.
“Dear Zoe Baraka: thank you for alerting us, (Elsie Dickson) about this. Thank you for being there to support, and enjoy.”
Shatta Mama’s publicist, Reagan Mends, confirmed the breakup and said that the actor wasn’t entirely in favor of him telling the public about the relationship.
“Kofi Adjorlolo denied ever instructing me to announce the news of their marriage after giving me the go-ahead to do so.
In order to end the relationship, he called Shatta Mama and informed her “During a Hot93.9FM interview, Reagan revealed.
An earlier report by the station claimed that the two were madly in love with each other and had planned to seal their love with a wedding. The news was greeted with mixed reactions from the public.
Shatta Wale sharing his opinion on his mother’s union noted that she is free to make her own choices in her life.
“If Kofi Adjorlolo wants to marry my mother, that’s cool. He has every right to move to her,†said Shatta Wale in an interview on Hitz FM in July 2022.
Talent manager, Bulldoghas announced that he no longer works with dancehall singer, Shatta Wale, however, that doesn’t call for an alarm since they remain good friends.
According to Bulldog, he didn’t find it necessary to announce their separation since he never made a show when his company Bullhaus Entertainment partnered with the award-winning singer.
Shatta and Bulldog have kept a solid relationship. Although their friendship crushed some years ago, they managed to reconcile and patch things up with the latter always rising to Shatta’s defense.
Also, the talent manager offered his support to the singer during his 2021 court case involving a fake gun attack that landed him behind bars.
Speaking with radio presenter, Caleb Nii Boye on 3FM, Bulldog touched on his current state with the artiste after being persuaded to comment on it.
“If people are no longer working together, it doesn’t mean they are not talking or are no longer friends…when I started working with him (Shatta) nobody did a story. It wasn’t announced that Bullhaus is handling Shatta so why should the separation be announced?” he quizzed.
Meanwhile, Deportee, a former leading member of the Shatta Movement has made some damning allegations against the popular singer. He claimed that some persons on his team who were labelled as his accomplices in the 2021 fake gun attack, were left to their fate.
Also, Shatta Wale’s former personal assistant, Nana Dope, has threatened to go public about how he was assaulted and betrayed.
Nana Dope, the former personal assistant of Shatta Wale, has announced that he was physically assaulted but kept mute because of his loyalty.
He has, however, threatened to go public with his side of the story.
His comment comes after a leading member of Shatta’s team, Deportee alleged that the singer failed to help him and two others settle their bail but instead left them to their fate.
Back in October 2021, Deportee, Gangee and Nana Dope were named as accomplices of Shatta Wale in his fake gun attack that ended them at the Ankaful Prison.
In a self-recorded video, Deportee mentioned that the singer assaulted his PA, Nana Dope with thugs after Shatta threatened to beat up over his allegations.
In a series of posts made by Nana Dope on Snapchat, he confirmed that he was indeed assaulted.
He again called on friends to keep him in prayers as he makes a recovery.
“Finally & hopefully in some few days, I’d be able to smile & say God got me outta this shit. Say a prayer for me & know when this is all over, the boy got something to finally get off his chest #NANA DOPE,” read the post sighted by GhanaWeb.
In a separate post, he explained why he hasn’t exposed the people who betrayed him, adding that he was put behind bars because of ‘loyalty’.
“LOYALTY AINT ONE-SIDED! On this side, that’s how it’s like but I really don’t have regrets because when I had to be behind bars because of loyalty, I gladly did. Will be back in some few days to say what I got to say! God bless everyone that’s genuinely loyal no matter how dirty who you being loyal to does you!
“They should be thankful loyalty got me this quiet for months but in some few days, that loyalty to me won’t mean shit no More!!! And ohhh, loyalty gets you beaten as well on this side! LMAO!!” Nana Dope wrote in the post sighted by GhanaWeb.
Entertainment pundit and television presenter, Tilly Akua Nipaa has said that it has become unfavourable for foreign promoters to bill Ghanaian musicians for shows abroad due to the constant disappointment from some artistes.
Tilly in her submission tagged local musicians who always create problems for promoters as ‘stomach direction’ people.
According to her, they only consider their interest and benefit and care less about organizers who put them on shows outside Ghana.
Speaking on Okay FM with Ola Michael on the back of Shatta Wale’s misunderstanding with the CEO of Akwaaba UK, Dennis Tawiah, and the artiste’s decision to call off his performance at this year’s Ghana Party In A Park UK, Tilly outlined the effect Shatta’s move can have on the event next year.
“These are the many reasons promoters outside don’t like to work with our artiste or bet on our artiste. They know that our artistes are ‘stomach direction’ people. They don’t think about the second person.
“Do you know what is going to happen right now? The patrons that paid money just to come see Shatta Wale are disappointed. Their trust in the event has gone down now so the next year if they (organizers) say they are bringing an artiste, it is a 50/50 for them now.
“So the next time, do you think these same people (organizers) will bet on a Ghanaian artiste? When you give them your word and say, let’s do it… You might just be thinking about yourself but how will it affect the businessman who will put you on the next time?” she quizzed.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has explained that organizers of the UK music festival failed to honour their earlier agreement with him, the reason he cancelled his performance at the last minute.
Speaking with Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty on Tuesday, July 19, he noted that organizers of the show changed the entire plan of having a ‘GOG experience’ in the UK and also failed to provide visas for four members of his team.
“I told him (Dennis) to do a GOG flyer for me in conjunction with Akwaaba UK. So the whole title was supposed to be Akwaaba UK in conjunction with Shatta Movement GOG Experience and we accepted that.
“Secondly, I told him to try and get visas for my team. You know my team is big but we came to a conclusion that we pick 4, plus myself which makes it 5 and we agreed on that.
“I told him I would perform for him for free but he should just get these two things done for me…later I saw a flyer with a whole lot of artistes…we forgot about that side …for the past three weeks, I was asking when my team was going to get their visas…I told him I can’t leave Ghana without my team,” Shatta explained.
In October 2021, Idris Yusif, better known as Deportee, a close friend and member of Shatta Wale‘s team, landed himself behind bars over the singer’s fake gun attack.
Deportee was named as an accomplice of the popular dancehall musician and was arrested with two others, Nana Dope and Gangee and charged for abetment of crime.
An Accra Circuit court remanded them into prison custody and later granted bail to the tune of GH¢100,000 each for the publication of false information that claimed Shatta had been shot.
Fast forward to July 2022, Deportee has alleged that Shatta Wale only settled his bail, leaving him to his fate.
He added that the Shatta Movement boss currently has issues with him, but in due time he will tell his side of the story and the reasons why their relationship has once again gone sour.
“My relationship with Shatta is out there, people know it… we had our issues back then, but this time around…there is an issue that is the reality. At the right time, the issue will pop up. He has issues with me but I don’t.
“Recently we went to court, you know we went to prison together. He got himself bailed, but without us…these are the things, I don’t want to speak. Maybe with time, we will speak. I know it is a bombshell and it will go out there and it is going to escalate a whole lot of things,” Deportee disclosed in an interview on ‘Time With The Stars’ with Larry Bozzlz.
According to the singer, who doubles as an artiste manager, he doesn’t condones negative energy from his circle of friends.
“Anyone who knows me, when you ask they will tell you that forget who you are, when you go wrong he will tell you. When you are on the right path he will tell you. When you make a mistake, he will tell you and that is the person I am.
“I don’t want to be around you and be faking. I can’t do that, no matter who you are. I will let you know on the low…there are people who don’t like my type. I can’t be faking and cover things that are not right,” he added in the interview monitored by GhanaWeb.
Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah, known in show business as Shatta Wale has pleaded guilty to publication of false news.
He has since been fined GH¢ 2,000 in default of which he will be imprisoned for three (3) months.
This was after he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty before His Worship, Emmanuel Essandoh of the Circuit Court 4.
The controversial artiste was brought before the Court for publishing on social media, prophecies of death which he claimed were about him.
His lawyer, Jerry Avenogbor, told the Court that he was a first-time offender who was remorseful of the act.
The prosecution on the other hand, led by ASP Maxwell Oppong did not oppose the change in plea.
Shatta Walewas arrested in October 2021 for publicizing false claims that he had been shot in a gun attack on him in Accra.
Prior to his arrest in a lengthy Facebook post, he apologized to his fans and people who had been affected by the prank.
He made reference to a prophecy that was made by a preacher that he would be shot dead on October 18, 2021.
According to Shatta Wale, he was surprised that the security services could not give him protection after that prophecy, hence his decision to stage the fake attack.
His move however saw widespread condemnation from the public, with many calling for the artiste to be punished.
Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court. The musician was granted bail after his lawyers pleaded for same, citing their client’s personality and reputation as reason.

They have since been granted a bail of 100 thousand cedis.
Shatta Wale was granted a self-recognizance bail whilst each of the other accomplices was granted bail with a surety each.
The case has been adjourned to November 9, 2021.
