“I keep telling people that you don’t believe you’re harming me, but you’re hurting all of us. I put money on the table when I earn it, and we all benefit. Therefore, I believe that those things [unrestrained unfavourable criticism] must end,” he concluded.

  • Burnaboy and Wizkid won Grammys after feature with Beyonce but Shatta Wale turned taxi driver

A social media user who is a die-hard fan of Sarkodie has slammed Shatta Wale 6 feet into the ground after heavily trolling him.

The fan said Shatta Wale’s careeer has come to a sad end as he’s now become a taxi driver!

Known as Sarkodie’s lawyer on Twitter, the said fan shared a photo of Shatta Wale taken during his recent Shaxi float.

Aside Wale, the fan shared photos of Wizkid and Burna Boy as well, both holding onto their Grammy awards with the caption: “This is what happened to the carer of these African artists after Beyonce featured them. Last frame is now a taxi driver. 😭😭😭😩😂😂,”

    Check out the post below…

Shatta Wale recently held a float for Shaxi, the ride-hailing service he launched a few years ago.

The float was to create more awareness for the brand and featured loud music being blared from speakers on large vehicles touring the capital.

Aside Wale, Medikal and Fella Makafui turned up to support, as well as the notorious daughter of Archbishop Duncan-Williams.

The float ended with Shaxi drivers receiving free fuel, leading to the hilarious photo of Wale pumping fuel into a car.

  • ‘Already’: The Beyonce collabo was a divine blessing to sanitise my tainted name – Shatta Wale

Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has stated that some utterances by entertainment pundits impede the progress of artistes “a lot.”

The 38-year-old singer and record producer also shared that he sees Beyonce’s collaboration with him as a divine intervention to sanitise his brand and name which have suffered at the hands of pundits and public criticism.

The Reggae/Dancehall superstar said this reacting to Koskolee, a pundit on CTV’s Class Showbiz hosted by Sammy Flex, wondering if that was the case, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

“I’ve met companies that have told me, ‘Oh we wanted to sign you but you had this problem and your media people [said this and that] so they said we should forget it’,” he illustrated. “Big, big companies.”

The Ghanaian artiste born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr asserted that when pundits speak ill of him, they may intend to hurt his brand in particular but actually they are tampering with the brands of Ghanaian artistes in general.

“I keep telling people that don’t think you’re hurting me but you are hurting all of us,” he said.

“When I make money, I bring it on the table and we all enjoy. So I think those things [uncontrolled negative criticism] have to stop,” the ‘On God’ hitmaker added.

He bemoaned how an internet user opined that his Shaxi online taxi initiative would not last beyond a week. “Don’t speak like this,” Shatta showed signs of frustration. “This is somebody’s business. If you don’t have anything [productive] to say, just keep quiet.”

The Shatta Movement (SM) leader also expressed worry concerning how the above and other unhinged utterances, especially on the internet, could hamper his being signed to an international label.

“I keep saying, God bless Beyonce everytime because for Beyonce’s team to sit down with her and say they want to work with me, it wasn’t just a mere and meaningless happening. God’s intervention came there. I think maybe God spoke to her that, ‘Come and help my son because [contrary to] the way they are seeing him, I want you to [paint] a beautiful picture [about] him.”

Beyonce, in an unpredictable move, featured Shatta Wale on her ‘Already’ Afrobeats record as part of her 2019 Grammy-recognised ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album.

The self-acclaimed African Dancehall King also addressed why he is abrasive sometimes in reaction to criticism.

“People should just get it, the way they speak about us – like me I’m so real that [naturally] when you speak about me in a certain way, I’ll come and speak in a certain way but I’ve grown,” he stated.

Despite his growth and exercise of patience and restraint, however, he said it should come as no surprise when he responds in equal measure when someone delibrately and persistently steps on his toes.

“If you don’t stop [stepping one the toes], I will slap you hard,” he said matter-of-factly and quickly added that: “I’m trying to be humble. I’m trying to be respectful.”

To the musician, “the 10-year interval” between being Bandana and resurfacing successfully as Shatta Wale is proof of his patience.

“So when you are stepping on my toe – I’m like that [patient for a while],” he said and demonstrated in his unruly but witty demeanour that after several unheeded warnings, he strikes: “You’ll take a hot slap.”

Calming down, he reflected: “But I’ve grown to understand that all those people [naysayers] were distracting me from getting what I have to get.”

Since he came to that realisation, he has not engaged in any industry talk for about two months and his social media engagements are proof, he argued.

“When I check my worth and the people talking about me, [I notice that] no, they are going to drag me back,” he said and reasoned: “Those people have not made what I’ve made and I want to make more so why don’t I go and make it and come and show them?” when they are 90-years-old and unaccomplished because they were fighting what they did not understand.

The focus of the father of one, Majesty, is to increase his acquisitions and achievements “even though I’ve been able to acquire a few things from my career, in terms of where I have to put my head, at least I can move around small in a car and stuff like that, like invested a few.”

“It’s very painful when a somebody talks about you and a company says they can’t sign you,” he stressed.

  • Checkout Shatta Wale’s reaction after Wizkid disappointed Ghanaians

Over the weekend, Ghanaians who had spent exorbitant amounts of money to purchase tickets for a Wizkid show in Accra had a rude awakening after the singer failed to make an appearance.

Disappointed patrons waited at the Accra sports stadium from late Saturday all the way to the early hours of Sunday to no avail – Wizkid refused to arrive and perform.

Other Ghanaian artistes such as King Promise and R2Bees also followed Big Wiz’s lead.

Per reports, Wizkid was not happy with the attendance and production quality of the show and thus decided to swerve fans.

He later did the same in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, but managed to fulfil his obligations in Cotonou, Benin.

Wizkid has released a statement apologising to Ghanaians, claiming he would never compromise on some things for his shows and promising refunds.

Following the incident, one Ghanaian artiste who would have been over the moon would be Shatta Wale.

Wale has warned against Ghanaians neglecting our own artistes for Nigerians and Wizkid showing Ghanaians pepper appears to vindicate him in a way.

Whilst Wale has yet to explicitly react to the incident, Efia Odo claims she knows he’s laughing in happiness somewhere.

“Shattawale is somewhere laughing his a** offfffff😂,” Efia Odo wrote on Twitter in the wake of the scandal.

Knowing Shatta Wale – you can’t disagree!

  • I only filled half of Accra Stadium, no Ghanaian artiste can fill the whole place- Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale says no Ghanaian artiste can fill the Accra Sports Stadium with fans for a music show.

The Ghanaian dance hall act was sharing his mind on the brouhaha around Wizkid’s Accra Sports Stadium show. The Nigerian music was booked to perform at an event by Live Hub Entertainment, however, he did not show up.

The turn out of the event has got social media users talking. Some netizens have been criticising Wizkid and the event organizers for not being able to fill stadium.

Whilst the conversation is ongoing, a video of Shatta Wale speaking about artistes filling the stadium has surfaced. In the video he said “As someone with experience, I said that Ghana here, nobody has done that kind of show“.

Unless it’s a political rally, if it’s not NPP or NDC or maybe Pastor Mensah Otabil or Pastor Chris, I am telling you people something, write it down, or Duncan Williams, or Bishop Agyin Asare, or maybe it’s Kotoko and Hearts, we have never had a show like that at the stadium where you can see that the place is filled up for one artiste,” he added.

Speaking about how music shows are done in the stadium, he explained that “every time we fill one side. Sometimes if you go to ask they tell you that the authorities don’t want it that way because they don’t want the theft to destroyed“.

In the video below, Shatta Wale added he therefore makes sure he enters agreement with the show promoters before accepting shows at the stadium.

  • Shatta Wale recruits thick and heavy ladies as he holds Shaxi float

Shatta Wale is currently holding his ‘Shaxi’ float and it’s all fun and enjoyment at the event.

The float is intended to create a buzz for his ride-share company, Shaxi, which has been in operation for a while now but is yet to capture a significant market share.

To rectify that, Shatta Wale has organised a float which is currently going down.

The float started from the Accra Mall near the Tetteh Quarshie roundabout and will make a procession through the principal streets of the capital.

Wale’s close friends, Medikal and his wife, Fella Makafui, are also present at the float.

Videos from the event show a very fun atmosphere, with loud music and suggestive dancing the order of the day.

In one video, a troupe of slay queens employed by the singer show up and dance whilst shaking their ‘goodies’

In another video, Fella and Shatta Wale show off their dance skills as well.

The atmosphere is full of fun and the videos clearly show that.

  • Shatta Wale mocks the Black Stars after World Cup fiasco

Popular reggae-dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr known by his stage name Shatta Wale has mocked the Ghana national football team, Black Stars.

This follows the elimination of the Black Stars from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after they were defeated by the Uruguay National football team led by Luis Suarez.

Before the penultimate group H encounter between Ghana and Uruguay, the Black Stars only needed a drawn game to proceed to the next round of the competition.

However, the revenge many were seeking turned otherwise as Uruguay were able to score two unanswered goals which means Ghana were bottom of the group with only 3 points.

Sharing his thoughts about the football match in a Facebook post, Shatta Wale asked his fans if they can play his song JJC which means ‘Johnny Just Come’ to welcome the Black Stars.

“Guys can we play JJC to welcome the BLACK STARS at least,” Shatta Wale said.

  • Media miscontrued my 2018 comment; Shatta Wale understood; I respect him – Nasty C

South African rap star Nsikayesizwe David Junior ‘Nasty C’ Ngcobo has bemoaned how, during his media tour in Ghana, his comments about Ghanaian superstar artiste Shatta Wale were misreported and miscontrued.

He spoke on the subject in a rap freestyle during his time on Metro FM in his home country.

“I was out in Accra, media run for my album was turning into a mess, if you tuned in [to the interview(s)], you could guess,” he began.

“They asked me if I knew Shatta [Wale], they said he’s one of the best. My honest answer ended up being twisted up by the press,” he charged.

According to him, Shatta Wale, being clement, “understood that, so there’s really nothing there to address, but I thought I’d speak on it to put it to rest.”

Aside the closure, he revealed he addressed the controversial moment to also “show that man [Shatta Wale] some respect.”

On 14 April 2018, Nasty C performed his hits on Ghana’s flagship music awards show; Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), as a international guest artiste.

Monday, 16 April, he was on Accra-based Starr FM and during the interview, said he was not was not familiar with Shatta Wale’s music even though he had heard the name before.

“I have heard the name Shatta Wale but not his works,” he said and curiously added: “I don’t know if he is a man or woman.”

This is the comment he charged was misreported and miscontrued and made to appear as a jab to the Shatta Movement (SM) leader, especially because he had eulogised his arch-rival at the time, Stonebwoy.

“I have to meet Stonebwoy, I love people like him. He has some positive vibes and he is passionate about helping people. I have to meet Stonebwoy, I really like him,” he had said, adding he was familiar with Stonebwoy’s music.

Four months after this controversial media moment, August 2018, Shatta Wale and Nasty C had a friendly exchange on Instagram (IG) dissipating suspicions of animosity.

Nasty wrote: “Shatta coolin’” under a photo of Shatta Wale by his pool. To this, the latter responded: “Blingssss.” Nasty C had released his ‘Strings and Bling’ album a month prior.

  • Shatta Wale, Michy intimately aware they are incompatible – Wale’s father

Shatta Wale and Michy are very much aware that they are not compatible, says Shatta Capo.

He is the father of Ghanaian reggae/dancehall star and leader of the popular fanbase called Shatta Movement (SM).

On Thursday, 17 November 2022, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Senior, alias Shatta Capo, was hosted by Ohenewaa Kese Boahene (Gargantuan Lady), on the Obra Mu Nsem (Issues of Life) segment of the Dwabre Mu (Business Time) programme on Class Media Group’s CTV.

Discussing ‘Choosing a rightful partner’, he disclosed what he knew about the famed relationship between his son and his former fiancée.

He said as best as his memory would serve, he recalls his son’s relationship with Michy, formerly known as Shatta Michy, started in “2013 thereabouts.”

“I got to know Shatta Michy through Shatta Wale,” he added.

Michy “is a very lovely lady, no two ways about that,” he complimented the TV personality and noted, however, “She is different from Shatta.”

“God made all of us in his image, alright, but we have different traits in terms of character. We need to particularly note that. Whether you like it or not, your character is not like mine,” he posited.

“In the same vein, when you meet a woman, she also has a character different from yours. So, it’s important to study the person when you meet. [Get] to know who he or she is in terms of their identity. People usually don’t consider this,” he advised.

“Now, the problem between Shatta and Michy stemmed from this very thing I am talking about. They both got to know each other well and they know for a fact that they don’t click,” he firmly stated.

When his host exclaimed at his startling observation, he buttressed: “Although they lived together and I have a grandson between the two of them, Shatta being my child and Michy being, if you like, my daughter-in-law, they know they don’t click. There is no way they can say they do. Otherwise, all that happened wouldn’t have. So basically, that is what it is.”

Shatta Capo, with hand gestures and a gruffy voice reminiscent of his famed son’s, further explained that because of the incompatibility of his Shatta Wale and Michy, the relationship did not culminate where people had hoped it would.

“So, all those pleading that they get back together, [should understand] they know they don’t click,” he stressed. “Michy is aware, Shatta is aware.”

He agreed that “people love them together but the traits, in terms of character, doesn’t click, they don’t match.” He threw his hands up in dramatic emphasis.

  • Shatta Wale was conceived in the afternoon; reason he looks, behaves like me – Father

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Snr, alias Shatta Capo, the father of Ghanaian reggae/dancehall superstar Shatta Wale, has disclosed his son was conceived in the afternoon.

According to him, this accounts for the semblance between them with respect to looks and mannerism.

“I’ve said it before that, sometimes you think you’re casually impregnating a woman [but] pay attention to the time you initiate the conception,” he said to Ohenewaa Kese Boahene (Gargantuan Lady) on the Obra Mu Nsem segment of the Dwabre Mu programme on Class Media Group’s CTV Thursday, 17 November 2022.

“You can see Shatta [Wale] is a replica of me,” the award-winning artiste’s father said in parental pride. “Observe everything about him.”

He cited that: “Sometimes, when I go out, I don’t want to disclose my identity, but people still make me out saying, ‘This is Shatta Capo. Look, he speaks like his son’.”

In all honesty, “it was one bright and hot afternoon that I initiated my son’s conception leading to his birth,” he revealed.

“If you want your child to look and behave like you, schedule the conception for afternoon,” he asserted laughing in a textured voice reminiscent of his son’s.

  • I won’t withdraw the court case even if Shatta Wale apologises – Bullgod

Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as ‘Bullgod’, has said he has no plans of redrawing his defamation lawsuit against his former artiste, Shatta Wale. According to Bullgod, the court case will never be withdrawn, even if Shatta Wale apologises.

This was his response during an interview on Joy Prime where he was asked if he will consider an apology from Shatta Wale and drop the lawsuit.

“No, I won’t. It is beyond me and it is beyond him now. I have been there before; I have been in that space before. I went through a lot and I didn’t go through it alone. I went through it with my family. I did almost a month in cells. My wife grew as lean as an HIV patient, she went through a lot because of me. We already have our challenges cos already I dey disturb her a lot and now this. So, if I have the power to stop her suffering, especially with this case, I will,” Bullgod told the host.

Bullgod earlier revealed the motivation behind his lawsuit against Dancehall artist Shatta Wale

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Bullgod highlighted that Shatta Wale had made some defamatory comments against him. He stressed that the lawsuit is simply to put things right and also to clear his name off all the wrong accusations.

“I am doing this for my kids and my wife. No one suffered than my wife”, They are not the ones asking me to sue but they were the ones who suffered a lot when I was behind bars. Nobody suffered more than my wife especially. When I got out of cells after one month, she was looking like a broomstick. Slim, drained. She never slept.

Bulldog added, while stating further reasons behind the decision to drag to court, Shatta Wale, whom he had very close working relations with.

I have suffered a lot from that case and I am still suffering from that case”, he painfully revealed, adding that he seeks to put the matter to bed with the lawsuit against Shatta Wale.

The decision follows a social media post on November 2, in which Shatta Wale wrote, “Bulldog, since you are bringing out secrets, you will tell Ghanaians what happen to Fenicks (sic) murder!! And I am not joking about this time!!”.

The ‘My Level’-hitmaker made other wild allegations that did not sit well with his former manager.

  • ‘After I drew the fish, you had the deal’ – Bullgod hits at Shatta Wale again

Shatta Wale’s former manager, Bullgod, has once again tackled claims that he was drawing fish on a piece of paper instead of taking notes during a serious meeting with investors.

    ,

Earlier, Shatta Wale in one of his many social media banters with Bullgod, alleged that his father (Shatta Capo) chanced on the said drawing during a meeting held to discuss a business deal with his potential client, Guinness Ghana Limited.

Following the development, Bullgod made a mockery of such claims by sharing a video that captured a pencil art drawing of a fish.

The video was a compilation of excerpts of Shatta Wale’s ‘fish drawing claims’ and a real paper drawing of a fish which had the dancehall artiste’s head on it.

    But this issue popped up during a discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz where panelists asked Bullgod whether he indeed drew a fish at a serious meeting and he said;

“I’m not a secretary. I won’t go into a serious meeting and take notes. We have a secretary who handles that and the entire team was there.”

According to Bullgod, Shatta wouldn’t have landed the said deal with Guinness Ghana if he only drew a fish at the meeting like he (Shatta) claimed.

“I did not draw the fish. The gentleman (Shatta Wale) was not in the meeting. He said his father told him that I drew fish at the meeting. He said it himself. But after I drew the fish, he had the deal. Let us assume I drew the fish, he had the deal afterwards,” Bullgod stated.

  • Zionfelix incurs the wrath of Shatta Wale again

When news of Mona4Reall’s arrest went rife, Ghanaian blogger, Felix Adomako popularly known as Zionfelix, was part of the bloggers to first share the information with headlines projecting ‘fraud’ as the reason she was apprehended.

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, Mona’s closest friend, was displeased with this development and he took to social media to vent.

Mona Faiz Montrage popularly known as Mona4Reall was purportedly arrested on November 11, 2022, in connection with a US$8million alleged fraud.

It has been alleged that the popular Socialite had been on ‘red list’ in the USA for a while now and her arrest was a joint operation between the security agencies of both countries (US and UK).

The reports, although unconfirmed, have sparked uproar on social media with netizens eager to ascertain the fact of the issue.

A displeased Shatta Wale who has been enraged by the numerous unconfirmed reports making rounds on social media, took to his Facebook wall to attack Ghanaian bloggers, particularly Zionfelix.

Describing him as a lazy blogger who fails to research issues before hurriedly publishing them, Shatta ordered for the story to be pulled down.

He also threatened to arrest Zionfelix if he fails to heed the order.

“ZionFelix, I didn’t ask you to blog about news you didn’t research about. Please drop that shit down about “MONA 4 Reall” otherwise ago make Ghana police deal with you! I am serious… You (are) just too lazy for my liking. You guys just have laptops and phones and think you can just post anything abi? One of you go go prison p3333! TAKE THAT SHIT DOWN NOW,” Shatta wrote on Facebook.

One can recall that in an earlier interview with Paul Adom Okyere on Good Evening Ghana, Shatta Wale asserted that Zionfelix tops the list of bloggers who usually peddle falsehoods about him.

This was in a bid to lambast Ghanaian journalists by tagging them as unqualified and clueless individuals.

“As for that Zion guy, I don’t even want to hear about him. I know this because I am on the field. The whole of Ghana, he writes the worst stories about me. He doesn’t respect me and my hustle,” Shatta told Paul Adom Otchere.

  • Bullgod discloses why he worked with Shatta Wale again after he leaked his wife’s nudes

For close to two weeks now, Bullgod [Bulldog] and Shatta Wale have been in a back-and-forth brawl which led the artiste to allege that his former manager has a hand in the untimely demise of Fennec Okyere.

Addressing the issue on United Showbiz, Bullgod, who has sued the self-acclaimed dancehall musician, told the sit-in host, Abeiku Santana, after he had stated clearly that he would not work with the artiste again, it took the intervention of Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly called NAM 1, to make them work together again.

He said, while he was working as the Artists and repertoire (A&R) manager at Zylofone Media, his then-boss, NAM 1, told him that Shatta Wale wanted to meet and apologise.

He disclosed, he had then forgiven the musician, whom he refers to as a brother, and stated categorically to NAM 1 that he didn’t have an issue with the artiste but he insisted on their meeting which he gave in to.

“I want to clear this myth. I was working with Zylofone with Stonebwoy, Becca, Joyce Blessing, Obibini and Kumi Guitar. We were doing our job when NAM 1 called me and said ‘we needed to meet’. So I asked him what the problem was, and he said your young brother [Shatta Wale] wants to meet you and apologise.

“I told him there is nothing there, there is no problem. Because when something happens today, by tomorrow I forget it…I was a little confused [about] where NAM 1 was heading with the chat…When he spoke about him, I realised that he wanted to sign Shatta Wale.

“So, I told him I was there any time he was ready I will be available and he said he will call me. I think for two days he called me and said I should come to his friend’s house…when I was about to move my car, I told my wife. Because when the incident happened it affected my wife the most,” Bullgod narrated on the show which was aired on November 12.

He continued: “The day he did his press conference, I was in the room with my wife for a week or two. We weren’t talking because he had called her to tell her that I was sleeping with another woman somewhere. So, my wife was really mad.

“The day he said whatever he had to say on Pluzz, that was the day my wife started talking to me because she noticed he wasn’t a good person. So my wife said, ‘go and speak, go and speak’ but I never spoke. I never spoke because the world goes in circles, you never know whom you will meet again. So I kept quiet.

“My wife went on the radio the next day, and…she spoke but I didn’t say a word…So when NAM 1 called me, I told my wife and she said it wasn’t a big deal and that we have forgotten about it a long time ago…I was in the meeting with Bola Ray, NAM 1 and one of his guys called Atsu…but I didn’t know Shatta will be part of the meeting because of our earlier conversation…when I got there, Shatta was sitting there and I sat…NAM 1 now told me, he would want to work with my man and before I knew it, Shatta was on his knees and holding onto my leg to apologise. I told him this was something in the past, so, he should not worry about it…”

Bullgod stressed, “NAM 1 had patched us up” adding “this is somebody I love. I still love Shatta till today. I have no issues with him. So, if NAM1 patched us together and we came together…”

  • ‘You still want me to go to jail for what reason’ – ‘Emotional’ Bulldog asks Shatta Wale

Lawrence Nana Nana Asiamah Hanson, Artiste Manager, has been wondering why his former artiste, Shatta Wale, would be accusing him of having a hand in the untimely demise of his colleague and friend Fennec Okyere.

The self-acclaimed dancehall king in a viral social media video alleged that his former manager, Bulldog – as he is known popularly – wants to kill him just like the way he killed Fennec Okyere.

Shatta Wale later in a post on Facebook indicated that he is ready to tell any court what Bullgod told him about the murder of Fennec Okyere.

He wrote: “Bull Dog, since you are bringing out secrets, you will tell Ghanaians what happen to Fenicks (sic) Murder!! And I am not joking about this time!! I am ready to tell the court about what you told me about you and your men and how planned that foolish act, get ready. This Akufo Addo won’t give you a murder (sic) chance to be on our streets!!! Watch how this ends!!! You can’t fight time!!!”

But Bulldog has since sued Shatta Wale for defamation.

According to him, the day Shatta Wale was making the allegations was exactly the seventh year he [Shatta Wale] made similar allegations which he could not prove when the police invited him.

“What has happened today, has happened before [7 years ago]. The day Shatta Wale made that pronouncement [on social media] was actually the seventh year since the first one happened. He [Shatta Wale] organised a press conference on that day, went on Sammy Flex’s radio show and said a lot of things including what he said recently.

“At the time he said I will kill him just like I killed the other guy. We went to the police and he told the police that he was angry at the time but he was kidding. He was told to go and not to make such utterances again,” Bulldog ’emotionally’ said on UTV’s ‘United Showbiz’ programme.

He added “when we went to the police station, he had my wife’s naked picture on his phone and he even showed it to the police. I have gone through a lot; I have gone through so much to help build [Shatta Wale’s brand]. So, if Shatta Wale could not consider my kids as his kids, consider my wife as his wife, and my parents as his, then what can I do? It is only the court that can settle our case.”

Bulldog continued: “The late Fennec Okyere ate from my house, I feel that Fennec is with us in spirit at the moment saying that ‘these guys are worrying you,’ because that is how we lived. I have been to court on this matter for four years.

“The day that the court discharged me was the same day that Shatta Wale was being signed at Zylofon. While driving to where the signing was taking place from the court, I cried through the journey because I was tired…”

“Police have done all the necessary investigations for four years [but to no avail], today, you have come back to say ‘I will kill you like I killed the other guy’…after all these years and the things I have been through and you [Shatta Wale] still want me to go to jail for what reason?” he quizzed.

  • Pray for Hajia 4 Real – Shatta Wale

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has called for special prayers for singer and socialite, Mona Faiz Montrage popularly known as Hajia 4 Real following reports of her alleged arrest in London for $8 million theft case in the USA in 2014 yesterday, November 11.

In a Facebook post on Saturday dawn, the Kakai hitmaker wrote, “Guys please help me Pray for my Mom Mona. Am so sad”.

Even though Shatta Wale didn’t give details of the message, his petition for the popular social climber have perhaps given credibility to  reports of Hajia 4 Real’s arrest which started as empty rumours on social media on the afternoon of Friday considering that the two entertainment personalities have a very close relationship.

The alleged arrest of Hajia 4 Real comes as a shock to many Ghanaians and followers since the social media influencer has been posting videos and pictures of her flashy lifestyles in London on her social media pages lately.

Though information about the cause of her arrest is scanty, a number of media outlets including Yen.com.gh reported that she was allegedly reported in the UK over $8 million fraud in the UK.

Hajia 4 Real who has songs such as Badder than Dem, Fine Girl and Baby featuring Shatta Wale has been trending on various social media platforms since last night.

  • I will never work with Shatta Wale again – Bullgod

A former manager of Shatta Wale, Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has said he has no plans of working with the ‘Melisa’ hitmaker again.

Bullgod explained that he has been able to help build Shatta Wale’s brand to the highest level over the years; hence, he’s confident Shatta Wale can manage himself now.

This comes after Bullgod sued Shatta Wale for defamation after the musician threatened to expose his alleged secret regarding the death of late artiste manager, Fennec Okyere.

But in an interview on Prime Morning, Friday, Bullgod clarified that the legal issue has nothing to do with his decision to not work again with the musician.

“That [working with Shatta Wale] will not happen, and it’s not even about hate. The journey is done, and it is not even about the fight. I mean, it’s a huge brand, and I think he can continue. We’ve done what we can do for the brand at the time we were given the opportunity to do so,” he told Roselyn Felli.

According to Bullgod, the court case will never be withdrawn, even if Shatta Wale apologises.

Bullgod added that he could sue any of his family members when there is a need to do so.

“I love my kids. I love my wife. I might take a bullet for them, but I’ll think it through if I’ll take a bullet. I need to protect myself, and I need to love myself too. If it was any of my children, I would have taken them to court,” he indicated.

The talent manager expressed his genuine love for the dancehall artiste. He believes love is key, but protection is also important to him.

“Looking at the situation at hand, you can still love the person, but you need to protect yourself.”

  • You sue me and you’re going on media tours? – Shatta Wale asks Bullgod

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has once again taken a dig at Bullgod for ’embarking on a media tour’ to discuss the defamation lawsuit he (Shatta) has been slapped with.

Bullgod after suing Shatta Wale at the Accra High Court has been on radio throwing more light on the development and delving deep into matters relating to their feud.

On Hitz FM, for instance, Bullgod explained why he had sued Shatta Wale. While mentioning that he did so for his family, the artiste manager who had taken notice of Shatta Wale’s allegations in the past said “This time we are going to clamp him. My lawyers are handling that, so when all commences, you will hear, and I think this is a case study. People cannot just go about saying things about people.”

That’s not all, in a bid to express how hurt he feels by Shatta Wale’s murder accusations, Bullgod counted some favours he once offered the Dancehall artist including funding his ‘Dancehall King’ music video among others.

Shatta after keenly monitoring Bullgod’s movements said he does not understand why he is being allowed to discuss matters relating to the lawsuit on media platforms.

To him, once an issue has been handed to the law, it shouldn’t be addressed publicly, especially during media interviews.

“And the country is watching someone who has sued a party going for “MEDIA TOUR abi? Cool cool. If I start right now someone go talk say Ade craze… and bla bla bla! You take matter go give LAW now you deh go media tour (Why you deh trust the Law abi… I don’t blame you and your media friends… I blame lies and hypocrisy is this world… Fucken place,” Shatta wrote in Pidgin English on Facebook.

  • Bullgod speaks on Shatta Wale’s ‘pimping girls for an ex-president’ claims

In one of Shatta Wale’s outbursts, he claimed that his former manager Bullgod pimps girls for an ex-president.

Shatta in a bid to hit back at Bullgod during a social media banter wrote on Facebook; “Ghana will know when you said” a former president “sends you to bring him girls.”

The post sparked outrage on the internet with some individuals lambasting the Dancehall musician for dragging an ex-president’s name in his fight with Bullgod.

On the other hand, critics of the former president who were excited by Shatta’s claims shared all sorts of disparaging comments beneath the post.

But touching on the issue and how the ex-president and his camp reacted to the allegations, Bullgod during a discussion on Daybreak Hitz said:

“I haven’t heard from the president yet but I’ve heard from close sources. They are telling me to be strong. They are concerned about how his name is being thrown about like that. I told them these were things I will handle. I don’t think the ex-president himself has got the time to file a suit against Shatta because he can also do that.

“The party can also do that but I need to do that for my persona. I have a relationship with him so I need to make sure his name is set in the right place. Set aside from all that. From all the claims that I bring girls to him,” the artiste manager said.

Bullgod who is poised at ‘taking on’ Shatta Wale after suing him for defamation at the Accra High Court added that it is not the first time the Dancehall artiste has raised such claims.

“This is not the first time he is making such pronouncements. He made the same pronouncements seven years ago around 2015, 2016 and I let it slide.”

  • I am doing this for my wife and kids – Bulldog explains Shatta Wale lawsuit

Artiste manager and entertainment pundit Bullgod has revealed the motivation behind his lawsuit against Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

No one suffered than my wife”, Bulldog added, while stating further reasons behind the decision to drag to court, Shatta Wale, whom he had very close working relations with.

According to the experienced artiste manager, high-profiled personalities such as ex-president John Mahama, whose name was mentioned by Shatta Wale during his rant, is enough reason to take up the matter legally. Last week, Shatta Wale alleged that Bullgod revealed that former President Mahama asked him to procure gun men for a supposed job, among others.

Bullgod says seeking justice at the court of order will not only clear his name, but that of ex-president Mahama too. “For you to insinuate that I bring girls to the former president is not acceptable. He also alleged that I am a hired gunman for the ex-president”, he stressed.

Bulldog added, “I have assured the ex-president that this is something I will handle and I am not ready to let it go. I need to do this because I have a relationship with his family and I need to make sure that his name is cleared.

“I have suffered a lot from that case and I am still suffering form that case”, he painfully revealed, adding that he seeks to put the matter to bed with the lawsuit against Shatta Wale.

Bulldog is demanding that the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker apologises “on all his social media pages or accounts, make a publication on seven consecutive days”, adding that “such retraction and apology to be vetted and approved by the Plaintiff’s lawyers.”

He is also seeking a perpetual injunction that hinders Shatta Wale from publishing any defamatory comments about him.

Among other things, Bulldog is seeking “general damages for defamation, special damages for defamation, punitive damages for malicious publication of falsehood against the plaintiff, cost, and any other orders or remedies that the Court may deem fit.”

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has bemoaned the level of hate he has received in the entertainment industry so far.

Stressing how fed up he is, Shatta said he is sometimes compelled to feel that he chose the wrong profession.

The Shatta Movement (SM) boss has been one of the most talked about celebrities since he commenced his career.

He has been involved in countless controversies and the most recent is failing to perform at the Hogbetsotso Beach Rave despite an agreement with the organizers.

But while addressing such claims, Shatta wondered why people believe he deliberately absented himself without finding out the reasons.

“Oh Ghana. Sometimes erh you people dy do aah then adey feel say I chose the wrong profession. But I know I didn’t chose the wrong profession because I am destined for greatness. I have got so many haters who have so many evil thoughts about me. But I thank God that the ones who want to learn and listen to me are doing it,” he stated during a Facebook live.

Touching on the main reasons he didn’t show up on stage during the Hogbetsotso Beach Rave, the dancehall artiste said he was disrespected by the organizers.

“Ibe show wey them contract me for. We no dey go greet greet people. Ago taya before the show starts sef. I know how people dey love me and I know I’d have to get into the crowd. Everybody go dey talk to you and your voice all go strain. I wanted to keep the energy for my lovely people of volta. So you expect me to carry all the luggage I came with to the radio station?” he expressed in Pidgin English during the Instagram live.

  • ‘This time we are going to clamp him’ – Bullgod tackles Shatta Wale

Artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has said he wouldn’t let the allegations levelled against him by his former artiste, Shatta Wale, for killing ‘Fennick’ pass by.

Speaking on Hitz FM, Bullgod said he’s accustomed to Shatta Wale‘s tricks due to his long relationship with him.

According to him, Shatta Wale sees life as a game while adding that he has mastered the craft better than him.

“This time we are going to clamp him. My lawyers are handling that, so when all commences, you will hear, and I think this is a case study. People cannot just go about saying things about people,” he said.

Bullgod also added that he would have let go of the issue if Shatta Wale hadn’t touched on the ‘Fennec’ murder.

“Even if he had said all the things he wanted without Fennec’s issue, I would have let it slide. I was working at Zylofon media. And NAM1 came to me and said Shatta Wale wanted to apologise to me.

“But I called my wife, coz she suffered the most. Bola Ray, NAM 1 and Kofi Boat were present when Shatta came and knelt down, and I said there was no need,” he added.

He also described how spending days in jail nearly broke him when the SM boss and his mother came to visit him.

“We took a picture, and everything was calm and cool. So if you come back and you are talking somehow. You don’t know what I went through. He and my mum nearly broke me in the cell because I was there in high spirits.

“Ask Okraku-Mantey; he came there to see me. Duke Banson, wherever he is, God bless him. I was there for a month, and he was there for a month. Shatta wanted to come, and I told him not to come. The day he came, and they called me, and he cried … so if you felt that, don’t come and play,” he revealed.

According to the BullHouse Boss, he went to court for four years when he was arrested for Fennec’s murder.

“I went to court for four years. The matter didn’t even go to trial because the prosecution failed to bring evidence. I am used to that his rants. I am one person that rants no go touch because I understand him,” he shared.

  • You don’t talk to me but you want to pray for me – Shatta Wale reacts to Michy’s prayer appeal

Controversial Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has dominated the news for the last week.

Shatta Wale and his former manager, Bullgod, had a public fight on social media where the former accused the latter, of being a suspect in the 2014 murder of Fennec Okyere leading to the reopening of the case involving the unsolved murder.

Following his issue with Bulldog, Michy begged Ghanaians to pray for the father of her son, Majesty.

“I would plead with Ghanaians, to support the father of my child, Shatta Wale with powerful prayers. I just pray that the revelations coming in won’t bring him further problems because once he is down, it will affect me and our son. So please pray,” she said on Movement TV.

However, Shatta Wale has responded to Michy’s request for prayer from Ghanaians claiming that she enjoys playing a joke on the country.

Shatta in a Snapchat message to Michy questioned if it makes sense for her to pray for him since she does not talk to him.

According to Wale, a lot of people will fall for the format that Michy is using adding that they want to use his ex against him.

    Shatta Wrote;

“You don’t talk to me but you want to pray for me. Does it makes sense at all. And plenty of people will fall for this format cuz you can’t see they want to use my ex against me. Keep spreading the news that I need help like Kanye West. Billionaire life is hard”

The dancehall act in a bid to drag Bullgod online claimed that his estranged manager knows something about the death of Fennec Okyere, Kwaw Kese’s manager who was allegedly assassinated on 13th March 2014.

Bulldog was once named a suspect following reports that he reportedly threatened Fennec’s life. However, he has been released years ago as the police continues to investigate the murder case.

  • Shatta Wale finally explains absence at Hogbetsotso Rave

Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has stormed social media with explanations in relation to his absence at the Hogbetsotso Beach Rave in Tegbi, Volta region.

Earlier, it was reported that Shatta who was billed to perform as headline artiste failed to show up on stage although he arrived in town for the event.

“It is interesting to note that Shatta Wale had shown up at the venue of the concert in vehicles rented for him and his team by the organizers yet could not be found afterwards. All efforts by the two management teams to get him to come to the concert grounds to perform to the waiting crowd proved futile,” parts of the statement from the organizers read.

It was said to be a chaotic scene as disappointed fans who were gathered at the venue attacked some organizers by pelting stones at them and destroying their gadgets.

After days of silence, Shatta has taken to social media to state reasons for his absence on stage.

Stating his own side of the story, the Dancehall artiste expressed that he was disrespected by the organizers.

Buttressing his point, Shatta asserted that he was driven directly to a radio station to grant an interview when he already had an agreement with organizers that he would not participate in such an arrangement or even greet any chief.

He added that one of the organizers threatened to withhold his accommodation if he fails to grant the interview and that was when he took off.

As I ask them whether ino be this thing I tell them before coming, I hear sey one of the organizers say if I no go come the radio station, then them no go take me go my hotel room. So you expect me to carry all the luggage I came with to the radio station?” he expressed in Pidgin English during an Instagram live.

A disappointed Shatta however asked if a foreign artiste could be treated in such an unfair manner.

“Massa, make I carry all my luggage come the radio station den come do radio interview? As yourself whether that’s how they treat foreign artistes. Do they take them to radio stations immediately they land at the airport? Even some international artistes come with their live bands, do they carry all that to the radio station? When Usher came to Ghana did he carry all his luggage and band to radio stations for interview?

  • Bulldog sues Shatta Wale for defamation

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has been sued by his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog.

Bulldog is suing Shatta Wale for defamation after the musician threatened to expose his alleged secret involving the death of late artiste manager, Fennec Okyere.

Bulldog sues Shatta Wale for defamation

In a social media post on Wednesday, November 2, the ‘My Level’ hitmaker wrote, “Bull Dog, since you are bringing out secrets, you will tell Ghanaians what happen to Fenicks (sic) Murder!! And I am not joking about this time!!”

“I am ready to tell the court about what you told me about you and your men and how you planned that foolish act, get ready. This Akufo-Addo won’t give you a murderer (sic) chance to be on our streets!!! Watch how this ends!!! You can’t fight time!!!”

In the court documents filed at an Accra High Court, Bulldog’s lawyers indicated that these statements seek to suggest that he planned, effected or had a hand in Mr Okyere’s death.

Bulldog sues Shatta Wale for defamation

They added that Shatta Wale’s claims also meant “that the Plaintiff is a criminal gangster and a danger to society and ought to be in jail (rather than walk freely in the streets).”

Also, “that his (the Defendant’s) claims in the publication are factual, truthful, and must be taken seriously by the public and law enforcement authorities.”

Bulldog sues Shatta Wale for defamation

They indicated that these statements have triggered a re-investigation into the death of Mr Okyere by the police.

But, Bulldog’s team insist that these statements are false, malicious and only defames the artiste manager.

That’s not all, the lawyers cited other statements Shatta Wale has made which they believe to also be defamatory.

Bulldog sues Shatta Wale for defamation

They include claims that Bulldog had allegedly said former President Mahama asked him to procure gun men for a supposed job and also women for him.

The lawyers noted that these statements implies that “the Plaintiff is a person who engages in illicit gun violence, contract killing and other related crimes,” and also “that the Plaintiff is in the trade of procuring, controlling, and arranging prostitutes in return for money and other material gains.”

Thus, Bulldog is seeking a declaration from the court that these statements and others highlighted in the suit are defamatory and malicious.

He is also calling on the court to direct Shatta Wale to retract his allegations and apologise to him.

    Background

This comes nearly a week after Shatta Wale threatened to reveal a secret Bulldog told him in relation to the death of the artiste manager.

The threat was in reaction to the leakage of the list of artistes featuring on the tracks for Shatta Wale’s upcoming album, ‘Gift of God’ (GOG) by Bulldog.

The ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker stated that he is ready to tell any court what Bulldog told him about the murder of Fennec Okyere.

This caught the attention of Kwaw Kese whose career Fennec Okyere managed before his passing in 2014.

He shared a screenshot of Shatta Wale’s post and called on the Police to get justice for his former manager.

The Police later released a statement noting that they were in touch with Shatta Wale and hoped to get relevant information to help find the culprit.

    Fennec Okyere’s death

Fennec Okyere, who was the manager of Kwaw Kese, was murdered at his Manet Gardens residence on the Spintex Road, Accra on Thursday, March 13, 2014 by unknown assailants. He died at age 31.

Following his death, Bulldog, born Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, was picked up by the Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID).

He was arrested at Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra, as a suspect in the death of Fennec Okyere.

This was because Bulldog who had regular beefs with Fennec Okyere, had supposedly threatened him in an interview on radio.

While on the Police charge sheet Bulldog was to face the charge of conspiracy to commit murder, his plea was not taken.

In 2017, the Bullhaus Entertainment CEO was freed from the charges in relation with the alleged murder, with then Attorney-General, Gloria Akuffo saying the state was no longer interested in prosecuting Bulldog over the alleged murder of Fennec Okyere.

This was contained in the A-G’s advice on the case docket. Kwaw Kese registered his unhappiness about the development.

“Even the prosecutors were not going to court. I believe our security system is very weak,” a very disappointed Kwaw Kese told Lexis Bill in an interview on Behind the Fame on Drive Time on Joy FM in 2018.

But, Bulldog has consistently maintained that he is innocent, thus had no hand in the passing of Fennec Okyere.

According to him, the jabs they threw at each other were aimed at promoting their artistes and also to remain relevant as managers.

In a 2022 interview on Hitz FM, Bulldog maintained his innocence adding that he never threatened Fennec Okyere, despite their disagreements.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale is expected to respond to the suit eight days after he has been served.

  • Shatta Wale and I are both loud, we are alike – Blakk Rasta

Blakk Rasta has established that although he is fond of criticizing dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, he has realized that they both possess some similar traits.

He made these assertions while stating that no bad blood exists between them.

The two have engaged in a series of social media banters in which he has described Shatta as being a bad example to the Ghanaian youth.

Blakk Rasta has also severally tagged the dancehall artiste as a lousy drug addict.

The gravity of Black Rasta and Shatta Wale’s constant fights has compelled many to question whether the presenter holds a personal grudge against the dancehall artiste.

    But touching on his relationship with the dancehall artiste, Blakk Rasta, in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, said;

“I have nothing personal against Shatta Wale. He is a brother but if I need to tell him the truth, I will not mince words. Shatta Wale is loud and I’m also loud so we are alike. He speaks his mind on issues and that is exactly how I am.”

One can recall that earlier in an interview with Good Evening Ghana, Shatta Wale claimed that he is Blakk Rasta’s senior in the music industry.

While stressing that they are not co-equals, he (Shatta) asked the outspoken radio presenter to accord him the maximum respect he deserves.

“You see someone like Black Rasta? I don’t know what his problem is. Whatever I am saying here now is even hurting him. As I am saying here that I’ve got money, its paining him. He goes to platforms to insult me. Telling me I behave stupidly and stuff. Blakk Rasta, I am your senior. I broke out in this industry before you. In music I am his senior. My song Bandana came out when Blakk Rasta was 38 years and looking for a job,” he stated on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana.
