Artist manger and creative director, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod has defined Shatta Wale as a monster when it comes to music.
Bullgod, who was the former manager of the Dancehall artiste and having worked with him for a long time acknowledged Shatta Waleâs hardwork and how he takes music career seriously.
Bullgod, in an interview with Kafui Dey on the Breakfast show on GTV also emphasized that the multiple award-winning artiste hardly sleep adding he [Shatta Wale] is mostly recording in the studio.
âHe is hardworking I love that about him. Shatta Wale is too hardworking and he does not sleep, too hardworking. He is on the mic all the time, he is singing, he is producing,â he noted.
The artiste manager was quizzed by the host about the number of songs Shatta Wale produced a day and according to Bullgod, the Ghanaian musician can produce close to 10 songs a day.
He explained, âWhat do you mean, he can produce 5, 6, 10, songs. He is a monster. Iâm yet to see any artiste [like him]. I have worked with artistesâŚI mean Iwan was like that; Iwan was producing his own stuffs as well but Shatta is a beast.â
Self-Acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has explained why he does not have his body of work competing in the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme.
The controversial Reggae/Dancehall singer told Prince Tsegah on Hitz FM that there was no friction or âbeefâ between his camp and the VGMA, hence he would expect the VGMA board to reach out to him.
âYou know VGMA is my ex-girlfriend, anytime they want to come back, I am here, I donât know why they are behaving like the beef we have, we canât cut it,â he said.
He further explained his position by arguing that the organizers should contact him in a nice approach to discuss the nominations.
âI feel because they are the ones organizing stuff like this, there should be a nice approach to me, Shatta we want to sit down with you and let you know we are ready with our nominations and we have a team,â he stated.
Recall that the âTaking Overâ singer was banned from the VGMA along with his archrival, Stonebwoy by the board in 2019 for their violent clash that marred the 20th anniversary of the event.
However, the two-year ban was lifted in 2021, allowing Stonebwoy to participate in the subsequent edition but Shatta Wale has failed to make his submissions due to certain reasons he outlined in his latest interview
âBecause you know I am doing a whole lot of things you know in terms of music and business and stuff that I am doing, so they should also find somebody, a person from their office, and say oh Shatta are you interested to join this time because we want you to come on board and it is beautiful,â he pointed out.
He also took the opportunity to call for unity between the schemeâs organizers and other stakeholders.
âSometimes we have to understand that, together we stand, divided we fall, so basically letâs just understand that things happen, I donât have VGMA at heart I donât have any enemy at VGMA, the Charter House company, I donât have anybody there, itâs just that things happen and we just move on, how many times have we not fought,â he concluded.
The 24th VGMAs will air live on May 13 from the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has established that until the board and organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) take the first step in making amends, he will not be a part of any of their initiatives.
After the 2-year-old ban placed on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy following their brawl at the 2019 VGMAs was lifted, Shatta has not been a part of the event as he announced he had boycotted the award scheme.
Stonebwoy, on the other hand, had been nominated for consequent editions and even won the Reggae Dancehall song of the Year at the 23rd VGMAs after he showed interest in the scheme.
Shatta insists that he will only participate in the awards scheme only if he and the organizers reach a consensus.
His comments are in reaction to his absence from the 2024 VGMAs nominees list which has since stirred conversations on social media.
Describing the VGMAs as his ex-girlfriend, Shatta said the board should have a nicer approach so they can negotiate and come to agreeable terms for him to join.
âVGMA is my ex-girlfriend, anytime they want to come back I am here. I feel because they are the ones organizing this and there should be a nice approach. They should also find someone from the office to come and invite me to come on board and it will be beautiful. We should take this like thatâŚwe have to understand that united we stand divided we fall,â he stated in an interview with Hitz FM.
The Dancehall artiste emphasized that he doesnât regard the scheme as an enemy, and as such, he believes that both parties can create something magical when his proposed steps are considered.
âI donât have VGMA at heart and I donât have any enemy there. Itâs just that things happen and we move on. We have to understand that united we stand divided we fall,â he said.
Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has slammed some Ghanaians for spreading the word that he is the reason Medikal has parted ways with his long-time manager, Flow Delly.
According to him, since he started having ties with Medikal, some industry persons have been propagating false information about him.
He explained on Hitz FMâs U Say Wetin show that although Medikal has got a new team, he is still cool with Flow Delly, unlike some reports suggest they have become enemies.
Shatta Wale said he is no stranger to such lies because âI look like a hawk, but I donât catch chickens,â adding that, âI am not saying this should happen but even if Medikal is not with his wife they will say itâs Shatta who caused it.â
âI will say Medikal and Flow are brothers, and they are all doing good, but I cannot pinpoint where all this matter is coming from.â
âI donât dictate for him. He is a whole big man, and he has said it in a way that people will understand that if you want business I have people who can do that⌠Medikal is a businessman, and he is not saying he has sacked Flow Delly and I know he is working with distributors outside Ghana, and he is okay [SIC].â
Shatta, however, urged Ghanaians to understand separation does not necessarily mean Medikalâs relationship with Flow Delly has turned soar.,
âMaybe he [Medikal] has a team that he is trying to project his career, but he is letting people know that he has moved on. He and flow are cool. I know they spoke not long ago and Flow is my brother, and he knows I wonât vouch for anything like thatâŚ,â Shatta told Prince Tsegah.
Charterhouse, organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) have unveiled nominees for the 24th edition with Shatta Wale once again missing out.
Music lovers have called for the inclusion of Shatta Wale in VGMA following years of absence in the award schemes.
It would be recalled that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were banned by VGMAs board as a result of their scuffle on stage back in 2019. The ban was however lifted in 2022.
Stonebwoy showed interest and was welcomed back, however, Shatta Wale announced in a Facebook post his decision to exclude himself from the awards scheme with his then-manager, Bullgod, citing the constant disrespect from organizers as the root cause.
Shatta vowed never to partake in VGMA and has stuck to his decision despite calls by fans to settle his differences with the board.
Many say he is deserving of the Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste title for his works and ability to release hit songs all year round.
“Upon sober reflections of events in recent times and having made broader consultations, I wish to announce that I will not be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward. God bless!” Shatta declared in his Facebook post when he officially parted ways with the VGMAs.
The leader of the Shatta Movement had the backing of his former manager when he boycotted the event.
“Shatta Wale will not attend the VGMA until VGMA come to apologize to him. They have consistently disrespected Shatta. If he decides to join the scheme again, I will concentrate on farming that will mean my journey with him will come to an end.
âHe has been always overlooking the disrespect to support the culture but it wonât happen again until they apologize. They kept us in jail for a day for doing nothing, itâs sad and disrespectful,” Bulldog said at the time.
In 2023, Robert Klah, the Public Relations Officer of Charterhouse, organizers of VGMA disclosed in an interview on Hitz FM that Stonebwoy showed interest, the reason they were able to work with him.
âThe scheme is in such a way that you need to be able to show interest, to be a part of the scheme, once you show interest, we will work with you. The interest can be in the form that you are filing or giving consent. So, Stonebwoy showed interest and we worked with him,â Klah explained.
The 24th VGMA comes off on May 13, 2023. Eight deserving artistes, Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, Piesie Esther and Joe Mettle are competing for the ultimate title as the ‘Artiste of the Year’. Check out the posts below:
Ghanaian comic actor, Ras Nene also known as Dr Likee has eulogized Shatta Wale for his selfless contribution to his NGO that foresees the development of young men and women in ghettos and on the streets.
On the account of Ras Nene, the Dancehall musician has been one of his main financiers and provided a better life for ‘ghetto youths’ by enrolling them in training centers and changing their lives for the better.
The actor who was once on the streets is on a mission to change the lives of many others through his success story as well as provide employment opportunities for those who wish to make it out of the ghettos.
Ras Nene announced to the public how Shatta has been a blessing to some Ghanaian youths.
“Some men in the ghetto who have seen me and others make it and strives to be like us. I try to support the youth and I must say one of my biggest sponsors has been Shatta Wale. I want to reveal underground information to the public.
“He supports me by providing funds used in getting these guys into business. Most guys whom I enrolled into vocational training were funded by Shatta Wale. He has been of great help to me. This is why I advertise for his Shaxi company,” the actor disclosed in an interview on Kins1gh TV.
The Ghanaian musician who has a large fan base has for years inspired young men who are tagged as ‘ghetto youth’ to believe in their dream through his music and social media posts.
The co-founder of DWP Academy, Quables, has disclosed that their biggest pay cheque ever came from American singer BeyoncĂŠ Giselle Knowles-Carter.
Back in July 2020, Ghanaians sent congratulatory messages to the dance academy when some members, including Dancegod Lloyd, featured in the music video of ‘Already’ a song by BeyoncĂŠ and Dancehall singer, Shatta Wale.
According to Quables, artistes and brands who have worked with DWP understand the value and the impact they have on their projects.
Speaking to Elsie Lamar on GhanaWeb TV’s Talkertainment, the talent manager, who was slow to disclose the amount of money BeyoncĂŠ paid them, hammered home that their pay remains the biggest contract to date.
“It is BeyoncĂŠ, I’ll not even lie…I can’t give a range, but it came from BeyoncĂŠ,” he said.
After being pressed to disclose the actual amount of money DWP Academy received, Quables hammered home that the singer’s worth meant they were not underpaid.
“Come on it’s BeyoncĂŠ...if I say it is BeyoncĂŠ, you have to understand that. That is Jay-Z’s wife, so (laughs)…our work with Usher was also very good.
“Anybody that works with us knows that we give you value for whatever you pay for. We’ve made songs go global. I can mention ‘Overdose’ because we created that choreography. The song ‘Down Flat’ blew up because of the dance and what the artiste is going to get back is millions,” the co-founder of DWP told GhanaWeb.

*Background*
On November 02, 2022, Shatta Wale was said to have made a publication on his Facebook page implicating his former manager, Bulldog in the murder of Fennec Okyere among others.
Upon this, the Ghana Police Service opened investigations into the defendantâs publications.
Fennec Okyere, who was the manager of controversial musician, Kwaw Kese, was murdered at his Manet Gardens residence on the Spintex Road, Accra on Thursday, March 13, 2014 by unknown assailants. He died at age 31.
Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, was picked up by the Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID) as a suspect in the death of Fennec Okyere.
This was because Bullgod (then known as Bulldog) who had regular beefs with Fennec Okyere, had supposedly threatened him in an interview.
In 2017, the courts, on the advice of the Attorney-General that there was no evidence against the accused, discharged Bulldog.
Afrobeats may be the popular music in Ghana and many other African nations right now, but Jamaican music is still played loudly practically constantly in Ghana’s roadside and beach bars.Â
Reggae night is held every Thursday in two large clubs in Accra, the country’s capital, amplifying the already hot weather.
Ghana demonstrates that the roots of reggae music have spread widely and have produced local talent.
Jamaican performers like the late greats Bob Marley and Peter Tosh and the group Culture are widely acknowledged with sowing the seeds of reggae music on African soil 50 years ago.
Image caption,Accra has a wealth of reggae and dancehall gigs to offer
This love of reggae has also had a cultural bearing on the language: it is not hard these days to hear Ghanaians talking a little Jamaican Patois, which is different from Pidgin English, a lingua franca spoken by roughly a fifth of Ghana’s population.
Take Livingston Satekla, one the biggest reggae-dancehall artists to come out of Africa, better known as Stonebwoy. The spelling of his stage name is a nod to Jamaican Patois.
The phrase “Who is that boy singing?” in Ghanaian Pidgin is: “Who be dat boy weh he de sing for deh?” In Jamaican Patois it is: “Ah who dat bwoy weh im ah sing fi deh?”
In a recent interview Stonebwoy and I discussed the growing use of Patois in Ghana, frowned upon by some Ghanaians.
“What’s wrong with learning to communicate in Patois, which comes as part and parcel of reggae-dancehall as a core tool of communication? If you love reggae-dancehall you ought to learn Patois,” the 34-year-old musician told me.
Born in the ghettos of Ashaiman outside Accra, Stonebwoy would regularly listen to Jamaican dancehall dons like Capelton, Anthony-B and Beenie Man as a teenager – wanting to sound just like his Patois-speaking heroes.
He would later go on to host some of the very same people at his annual BHIM Concert, arguably one of the most successful dancehall showcases in Africa.
It takes place in December as part of Ghana’s Beyond The Return campaign – a project designed to encourage people from the diaspora to visit the country.
It draws big crowds – me included – and last year featured Jamaica’s Busy Signal, who had many of his fellow countrymen and women singing along to his hits.
Some in the audience could be seen with dreadlocks – worn by Rastafarians.
Reggae has been instrumental in spreading the rasta message. It too has been a cheerleader for Africa – singing about the beauty of the continent, boasting of its natural resources while calling for people in the diaspora to return to the motherland.
This has gone a long way to solidify the bond between reggae and Africa, especially during and after colonial rule.
It makes sense that Ghana, among the first African countries to gain independence (from the UK in 1957), gravitates to the sounds of struggle and strife associated with reggae. It has had plenty of struggle and strife, having experienced six military coups between the 1960s and 1980s.
One of the first big reggae artists in Ghana was Kojo Antwi, also known as Mr Music Man.
Antwi started his career in the 1970s working with reggae band Classique Handles which later changed its name to Classique Vibes. Their debut 1979 album Higher: Suffer Hell on Earth addresses the economic struggles of the ghetto and how a lack of job opportunities can lead to starvation.
By the mid-1980s Antwi would become better known for love songs with lyrics in his local language Twi – sung over the less political lovers’ rock reggae sound, which went on to inspire other big Ghanaian artists.
While Mr Music Man was serenading his homeland, a young northern Ghanaian, Rocky Dawuni, of royal heritage, was beginning to make waves on the global reggae scene with the 1998 hit In Ghana. His growing popularity saw some of his tracks featuring on various US TV dramas and three Grammy nominations to his name.
If reggae is the parent, dancehall is definitely its mischievous child – with skilful lyricism and the unmistakable tones of Patois.
One of the first successful descendants of this in Ghana is Samini, famous for his energetic live performances, singing in Pidgin, Patois and Twi.
Often referred to as Africa’s King of Dancehall Music, he has received accolades from foreign and domestic organisations, including a Mobo back in 2006 for Best African Act and an MTV Africa Music award in 2009 for Best Live Performer.
Not being content with his solo accomplishments, Samini helped launched the career of top Ghanaian artist Mugeez as well as playing a huge role in kick-starting the career of Stonebwoy.
There is also another contender with a legitimate claim to Ghana’s dancehall throne: Shatta Wale.
As a student in Accra, he performed using the names Doggy and Bandana, producing one hit in 2004 and then disappearing into relative obscurity.
It took a trip to Jamaica to bring his resurrection.
He returned as Shatta Wale – now with a devoted fan-base and catalogue of hits including an epic collaboration in 2019 with BeyoncĂŠ on Already. The 38-year-old’s golden touch has also extended to business and he owns a successful line of taxis known as Shaxi.
Currently, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are two of Africa’s biggest reggae-dancehall stars and memorably participated in the Asaase Sound Clash at the height of Covid in 2020.
The onstage competition, a musical tradition that originated in Jamaica, was live-streamed globally and hosted by Grammy award-winning producer and BBC broadcaster Seani B.
As each artist tried to outdo the other, their fans shouted out their appreciation, with the phrase “dat tune deh mad” (Jamaican Patois for “that song is awesome”) ringing through the venue.
Both sets of supporters believed their man had won on the night. However, the real winner was GH dancehall – a true child of Jamaica.

Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian dancehall musician, has explained why, despite their friendship, he has yet to record a song in Christian Atsu’s honour. Atsu was a winger for the Black Stars.
Shatta Wale claims that his ability to write and create a song to honour Christian Atsu’s memory was hampered by the loss of the musician.
He admitted that despite their friendship not being as close as it was with Asamoah Gyan, he was always proud of Christian Atsu’s perseverance in achieving success in life.
“I have heard people ask why I haven’t done a song for Christian Atsu as I have done in the past. I know I have done songs to honour some personalities in the past, including the late Major Mahama.”
“I haven’t been able to do it for Atsu because his death has hit me so hard and it has affected my ability to write a song for him,” Shatta Wale said.
He also criticised the media for waiting for Christian Atsu to die before publicising his good deeds and the charity work he was doing while he was alive.
“God will punish you media people for waiting for him to die before making Ghanaians aware of the good deeds that he was doing. All the charity work he did, you couldn’t talk about it but now you are doing it because he is dead,” Shatta Wale ended.

Christian Atsu was found dead on the morning of Saturday, February 18, 2022, at the site of his collapsed apartment twelve days after a devastating earthquake hit parts of Turkey and Syria.
The one-week observation of Christian Atsu has been scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Accra.
Christian Atsu played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and four other African Cup of Nations tournaments.
Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has revealed why he has not yet recorded a song in memory of late Black Stars winger, Christian Atsu despite the friendship they shared.
According to Shatta Wale, he has been hit deeply by the loss of Christian Atsu and that has affected his ability to write and compose a song to honour his memory.
He acknowledged that through his friendship with the deceased footballer was not extremely close like that of him and Asamoah Gyan, he was always proud of Christian Atsu’s hard work to make it in life.
“I have heard people ask why I haven’t done a song for Christian Atsu as I have done in the past. I know I have done songs to honour some personalities in the past including the late Major Mahama.”
“I haven’t been able to do it for Atsu because his death has hit me so sad and it has affected my ability to write a song for him,” Shatta Wale said.
He also criticized the media for waiting for Christian Atsu to die before publicizing his good deeds and the charity works he was doing while he was alive.
“God will punish you media people for waiting for him to die before making Ghanaians known the good deeds that he was doing. All the charity works he did, you couldn’t talk about it but now doing it because he is dead,” Shatta Wale ended.

He made this comment in an interview on the Drink Champs podcast.
According to him, these four superstars mentioned are the only ones that Ghana has when it comes to international representation as compared to Nigerians who have a host of artists who are major and well-known across the world.
âNigeria has all the stars. Nigeria is like the New York of music in Africa and Ghana is like the Dubai of Africa I can only count about four superstars in Ghana. We have Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Black Sherif.â
Michael Blackson added that he wants to make Gambo the fifth star from Ghana.
âI want to make Gambo the fifth star and thatâs why I signed him.â
Gambo is a well-known entrepreneur and the CEO of BlackMob, an organization founded to provide young people with a platform to showcase their abilities in modeling, studio work, rapping, and other forms of entertainment throughout Ghana, Tanzania, the United States of America, and other countries.
He was allowed to speak about his upcoming single titled âCut Soapâ which features Goya Menor and drops in March.
The Ghanaian rapper also presented some gifts to the hosts of the show showing his appreciation.
Gambo won the âUnsung Categoryâ at last yearâs Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and has songs like âGirls Girlsâ, No Stress and Kuacha to his credit.
For Keche Joshua, of Keche Global fame, Shatta Wale is one of the best people he has ever dealt with in Ghanaâs entertainment industry. Keche Global explained to Felicia Osei on Onua FMâs Adwuma Adwuma that there is more to Shatta Wale.
Keche Global admitted that despite his working relationships with many other artistes, including Stonebowy, Medikal and Sarkodie have grown fond of Shatta Wale because he is trustworthy.
âShatta is something else. Very very humble. Too humble. Heâs aggressive, but heâs one person you can trust. I have gotten close to Shatta Wale, and Iâve seen that itâs never what you think.â
Keche adds that Shatta Wale is open and frank, describing him as a ârealâ person. He points out that such people are not welcomed because they speak the truth in all circumstances but hold no grudge.
âLet people hate you for being real. The results will prove who is best.â
Keche Joshua advocates that people should be upfront about their feelings about others. He advised that people should say things as they are without mincing words.
Ghanaian musician Joshua Kojo Ampah, member of the music duo, “Keche” has described controversial dancehall musician Shatta Wale as one of the most humble artist he has ever met.
According to him, although Shatta is aggressive and loud he is one of the few people you can trust to see the good in people.
He added that Shatta Wale can be classified as one real person who says things as they are adding that Ghanaians hate people who are real and truthful.
Speaking in an interview with Onua Fmâs Osei Felicia on Adwuma Adwuma he said that the âMy levelâ hitmaker knows how to correct you when you are wrong which sometimes includes he been hard but that is just his way of doing things.
According to him, he resonates with Shatta Wale because he believes in telling people when they are wrong without sugarcoating words because sometimes you just have to say it as it is to make people conscious of their actions.
Shatta Wale has been touted as the Ghanaian musician with the most controversies in the industry. Strangely enough, the more controversies Shatta Wale creates, the higher his fame and followership soars.
He has managed to ride on controversy and good music to be one of the forces to reckon with in the Ghanaian music industry.
Shatta Waleâs songs were in perfect sync with his personality. He lived his music, identified with the people on the streets and became a household name. He whipped up public interest in dance hall and got the likes of Samini and Iwan to join in his lyrical wars.
CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as BullGod has commented on the subject of performers giving free performances at events.
In a myjoyonline.com report, he agreed that performers should not be paid for every event they attend, but he also thinks that such agreements should ultimately benefit the artiste.
âI will allow my artistes to perform at a show for free when it is beneficial to them,â he said in a Twitter Spaces conversation by Joy Entertainment on Friday, February 17, 2023.
BullGod explained his stance and referred to an incident in which Shatta Wale declined to participate at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards due to unpaid fees.
He suggested that in such cases, there may not have been options to promote the singer beyond the appearance at the awards show.
âToday, you can say that if Vanilla comes on and performs for free he will go global and might get global presence and translate into other opportunities that will come to them,â he stated, acknowledging the current change in the promotion of events as a result of the amplification of new media.
âSo until this era, you ask yourself what are the benefits for this artiste and that is the first thing any artiste manager or team would ask. Once they look into the benefits and they know that it will go a long way to elevate their craft, it will open new doors for them, it will take them places that ordinarily it will take a while for me to get there, if you check all the boxes and it makes sense to you and you donât jump on, then it might be a no-brainer,â he added.
BullGod also dispelled the notion that Ghanaian artists do not understand the concept of performing for free, pointing out that they often perform at each other’s shows for free.
He stressed the importance of effective communication between artists and event organizers to reach mutual agreements on “no fee” deals.
The artiste manager has managed several artists such as Iwan, 5Five, Nii Soul, Yaa Yaa, Natural Face, VIP, Koo Ntakra, Rudebowy Ranking, and Shatta Wale. Currently, he manages Vanilla, who has released a new song titled ‘Ewo.’
BullGod is an experienced industry professional with valuable insights on the subject.
Asamoah Gyan, a former Ghanaian international, recently shared another heartwarming tale about his humble beginnings selling maize with his father at Kaneshie market when he was a small boy.
Gyan, who went to Seven Great Princess Academy, one of the top schools in Accra, doesn’t enjoy calling his parents impoverished, but he acknowledges that there were difficult moments.
âWhen you talk about poor people, they are those in the village but my parents were able to cater for me. My mother was a headmistress and my father was a businessman, he sold maize at the Kaneshie market,â the ex-Black Stars player said.
According to Gyan although he went to the same school as Shatta Wale, the dancehall musician went to the elite branch in Dansoman while he schooled in Laterbiokoshie.
âI was with Charles Mensah [Shatta Wale] at Seven Great and they opened a new one, the one at Dansoman, so that was where Shatta went. The rich people went there,â the former Liberty Professionals player said.
When asked if he grew up as a rich kid, Gyan told TV3, âNah, my parents did well to cater for my education, we were not that rich. I wonât be a hypocrite to motivate people that we were poor and they try to motivate people.â
Reminiscing on his days as a student, Gyan disclosed that he often went to the market after school to help his father whose business was selling bags of maize.
âFrom school, I used to go sit down at the Kaneshie market and sell. Now sometimes when Iâm around that place driving when I get down people will think Asamoah Gyan came from the sky but they didnât know I was there selling maize.
âI didnât sell the maize but my dad goes to Nkoranza and they bring them in a sack to sell to the Kenkey sellers,â he said.
Gyan added âsometimes we donât use the Kaneshie footbridge, we jump the fence to pick a car to Mallam but people donât believe it.â
Controversial dancehall musician Shatta Wale has claimed that he masterminds everything he does on social media.
Shatta revealed in an interview with Accra-based Nhyira FM that he strives to be controversial on many matters because he is patriotic and passionate about issues that affect ordinary folks.
The âOn Godâ artiste furthermore argues that he frequently appears in the media because he is âtoo patriotic to keep quietâ about issues that are wrong in the nation, particularly in the music industry, where he operates.
âI can say that Iâm patriotic, apart from me being patriotic, unfortunately, the kind of job I do is made public, so it makes it easier for people to speak about Shatta, so itâs just my job
âMany people donât know themselves, but I can tell you that, everything I do, is planned, so it will get to the point where people will understand me,â he said.
His statement follows a serious brawl he had with Kwadwo Sheldon warning him to stop using a line in his song titled âOn Godâ for his YouTube show, âYawa of the Day.â The line is: âibi the yawa of the day.â
According to the dancehall artiste, he told the YouTuber he didnât compose the music for him.
âI will insult you in any way that I want. That song of mine that you play on your programme, I am warning you to stop it hands down.
âDelete my song from your programme. I didnât do that song for you. You didnât bring the name, âYawa of the Dayâ. delete that theme,â Wale is seen cautioning.
About a month ago. self-styled African dancehall king, Shatta Wale has heavily descended on revered Ghanaian screen icon Nana Ama Mcbrown in a fast-trending video.
As we all know, Shatta Wale likes to pick on innocent people unprovoked to make headlines and go viral in the process.
In the scathy attack, Shatta Wale slandered the UTV United Showbiz Host and described her as an incompetent person who was employed by the TV station for the obvious reason.
As proposed by Shatta Wale to Dr Osei Kwame Despite, he should sack Nana Ama Mcbrown and employ university graduates who know more about the current entertainment terrain.
Although Shatta Wale eulogized Dr Osei Kwame Despite creating job opportunities for the youths their decision to employ Mcbrown is a big âNO-NOâ for him.
Shatta Wale is quoted saying â âYou people are villagers, all your programs are nonsense, Nana Ama McBrown doesnât know anything about presentingâ in a part of the video.
Shatta has finally apologized to Mcbrown during an interview on Nhyira FM.
According to Shatta, his comments were blown out of proportion because he didnât mean to demean the star actress.
He explained that he only meant Nana Ama Mcbrown is not well vexed in entertainment dialogues and he was only trying to tell the management of UTV to either train or hire another person who can perfectly moderate the show.
Ghanaian dancehall artist, Livingstone Etse Satekla known professionally as Stonebwoy has disclosed that his agreement with Shatta Wale to settle their disputes was never genuine.
The âBhim Nationâ hitmaker in an interview on American top urban celebrity interview base, VLAD TV, recalled an unexpected incident that occurred in 2019 at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when he was deemed reggae/dancehall artiste of the year; speaking of how he stood to defend himself against Shatta Wale and his crew who stomped the stage in the middle of his speech on that day.
âEven if I wasnât smart, I know its two things; to try disrupting it or to try doing his sh*tâ he connoted.
Stonebwoy in the interview tagged his attitude on that day as his other side and himself as one born and bred on the streets.
âNobody has the right to feel like you are invisible; one thing led to the other and they basically saw the other side of me, they realised Iâm really from the streetsâ he revealed.
âBecause we had a whole lot of following and people looking up to us, we managed to come to a nice consensus but itâs never been genuine,â words of the 34-year old singer emphatically disclosing why they both decided to settle their differences and further added that People cannot be forced to be someone they are not.
Celebrity and lifestyle blogger, Ameyaw Debrah has opened up on his professional relationship with award-winning dancehall star, Shatta Wale.
While speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Ameyaw Debrah stated categorically that he blacklisted Shatta Wale for the past seven years and that he was still thriving.
According to Ameyaw Debrah, this started after he put up a story of Shatta Wale who was billed for a show with Samini some years ago.
Ameyaw Debrah said after he reported on the issue, he received a call from Shatta Wale’s camp and they accused him of being biased toward the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker.
The celebrity blogger added that the conversation ended up with a threat after Shatta Wale told him to stop writing about him if he (Ameyaw Debrah) valued his life.
Ameyaw Debrah revealed that he never threatened Shatta Wale with what Shatta Wale said.
Shatta Wale once told me âIf you value your life, do not write about me.â I then blacklisted him for 7 years or so. I mean if you donât write about a particular artist and you still thrive in your business, then it means I donât really care about you. I didnât feel threatened when Shatta Wale told me if I value my life, I shouldnât write about him
Ameyaw Debrah added that from then on, he decided to blacklist Shatta Wale and stopped writing about him.
He however added some of my employees are fans of Shatta Wale so they write about him. The blogger also added that it was never his plan to bring down Shatta Wale.
Popular Ghanaian YouTuber, Kwadwo Sheldon, has unilaterally ended his feud with dancehall musician, Shatta Wale.
Earlier on Twitter, Shatta called for the arrest of Kwadwo Sheldon after what started as a banter, turned into a heated exchange on the social media platform.
The dancehall artiste premised his ‘call for arrest’ on what he described as the persistent insults and disrespect being hurled at him by the content creator.
â… you still have guts to talk to me anyhow you want,â he wrote in one of his rants.
Shatta, who has alleged being cyberbullied by Kwadwo Sheldon, took to Twitter to draw the police’s attention.
He also vowed to take the law into his own hands If Sheldon’s disrespect persists.
“Ghana police what this boy is doing on the internet is called cyberbullying and if you pretend not to see this one too then I will beat him properly so I can be arrested
“GHANA POLICE KWADZO SHELDON IS DISTURBING MY PEACE ⌠AYOOO.”
But Kwadwo Sheldon after repeated fightbacks responded to Shatta’s rants and has vowed never to associate himself with anything that has got to do with him.
Sheldon established that it is the last time he will ever create content off the dancehall artiste.
“And this is the last time I Dey say or create any content about him! Iâm done! Enough of this nonsense! Iâm out,” his tweet read.
Background
Kwadwo Sheldon and Shatta Wale’s fight started during the Meek Mill-Jubilee house saga.
Sheldon lambasted Shatta Wale for describing all who criticized Meek Mill and the president as villagers.
Kwadwo Sheldon has since ‘picked on’ Shatta the least chance he gets and he often tackles the dancehall artiste on his YouTube channel where he monetizes the content.
Nigerian hit record producer Pheelz, born Phillip Kayode Moses, has openly asked Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale for a collaboration.
Pheelz, in his request, expressed the belief that a collaboration with Shatta Wale will be a hit.
Monday, January 30, 2023, Jay Foley, the lead presenter on 3Music’s Culture Daily TV programme disclosed Pheelz’s desire via a video tweeted on his handle; @jayfoley2131.
“Yo, Shatta, link up, link up,” Pheelz said, captured looking into Jay’s selfie camera. “We have to make a hit.”
The 3Music Culture Daily team erupted in applause.
“I feel like Shatta Wale and I can create some damage in this country,” Pheelz said in another video from the interview shared by Shatta Wale on his Twitter timeline. “I feel like I can create a vibe with Shatta Wale that will bang.” He kept knocking his left palm with his right fist.
The ‘On God’ hitmaker captioned the video with the exclamation: “Canât music be beautiful like this in Ghana!!! Aaaaawwwww!!! [blue and red heart emojis].”
Tagging Pheelz’s handle, he nodded to his request saying: “Bro, letâs do this [fire emojis]. It’s an African [thing].” He concluded with some fire, Nigeria and Ghana flag emojis.
In 2022, Pheelz scored two viral hits: the international ‘Finesse’ featuring Bnxn and ‘Electricity’ featuring Davido.
His first offering in 2023, is a solo piece titled ‘Stand By You’.
It is reported Pheelz has production credit on the ‘Missionary’ joint album by American Hiphop legends Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.
Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has once again poked Ghanaians over what he termed as their ‘hypocritical’ mindset.
According to the dancehall musician, people doubted his Beyonce feature, but were quick to embrace what he described as ‘Sarkodie’s video shoot with a ‘ghost.’
This is the second time Shatta Wale has openly reacted to Sarkodie’s feature on Bob Marley and the Wailers’ ‘Stir It up’ remix.
Commenting on the release of the song, which was accompanied by a music video, Shatta Wale questioned why Ghanaians are excited about the video although the ‘main author’ is absent.
“When I met Beyonce and we did the video shoot together, people doubted me. Even when we were seen together in the video, they said I wasnât the one.
“They said I wasnât there, and I never met her. But with Sarkodie’s Bob Marley feature, did he meet the ghost during the video shoot? Sarkodie shot a video with a ghost, but that’s what you people like,” he stated in a viral video.
Earlier in an interview with Luv FM, Shatta shared a different opinion on the ‘legendary feature’ which many have tagged as a great feat in the entertainment industry.
âWeâve heard Sarkodie has featured Bob Marley. It’s so beautiful. At least weâve had someone who can feature a ghost, we should praise him.â
Shatta Wale has shared his two cents on Samini and Sarkodie’s feud that resulted in the former tagging the rapper as ‘fake and disrespectful’.
Ghana’s award-winning rapper, Sarkodie has been admonished never to forget the impact âhis fatherâ, Samini had on his career now that he is famous.
Shatta Wale in a Facebook Live session on January 28 took on Sarkodie for disrespecting the same artiste who offered a helping hand and also blessed him with a verse on his 2014 hit single ‘Love Rock’ without hesitation.
According to Shatta, Samini will forever remainSarkodie‘s icon and legend no matter the rapper’s achievements in the music space.
“How can Samini and Sarkodie be fighting? Samini and Sarkodie shouldn’t be fighting but ask yourself why? Right now Sarkodie feels like he has the people so he has forgotten about Samini.
“Hey Sarkodie, Samini be your father, forever and ever. Hey Sarkodie, Samini be your legend, icon, superstar forever and ever. Forget everything, I have a beef with him but even with that, I give him respect. Forget yourself, nonsense!” he charged.
Shatta added that he was displeased with the turn of events at Hitz FM when Samini was called on the phone during Sarkodie’s interview with Andy Dosty.
He noted that Sarkodie should have accorded Samini respect by shutting up to hear him speak instead of defending his action.
As earlier reported by GhanaWeb, Samini in a series of tweets accused Sarkodie of ignoring his WhatsApp messages.
Shatta added: “He (Samini) is talking to you on the radio as your father…you see what fame can cause? You guys play with everything…Samini is the guy that when he is speaking on radio, you have to shut up and listen because he has been on that forkin journey. The road he (Samini) has cleared for some of us to enjoy mustn’t be taken for granted. It is very nonsense and stupid something. It is not your fault but those 12 people in the music industry.”
When Dancehall artiste, Jupitar went on a rant on Twitter, he named a number of Ga-speaking artistes whom he claimed do not have the full support of some Ghanaian media houses.
Jupitar highlighting the âhateâ towards the Ga ethnic group in a now-deleted tweet wrote: âThis whole industry is a set up and if you be âGaâ like myself, @shattawalegh, @IamKingPromise or @dkbghana etc certain kinda support you go suffer or you no go get kraaa no matter the effort.â
A section of social media users condemned his statement and shut down the claim that Shatta is loved.
Jupitar has however maintained his claim and hammered that fans of Shatta Wale are behind his music and career growth, not the media as its being portrayed.
Speaking on 3Musicnetworks said: âI was criticized for mentioning King Promise and Shatta Waleâs name in my list of artistes who donât receive support. Shatta is getting love from the media, donât lie to yourself.
âWhat he has is street love, I am telling you. The boys on the streets love and play his songs but the men at the top, donât connect to us. They donât see us as a part of their favourite. They exclude us under the claim that we donât respect them.â
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale on different platforms and his social media pages called out some media personalities and gatekeepers for sabotaging him
In a recent Facebook, he wrote: âAm not doing anything for Ghana entertainment industry. My career is for SM fans. F*** that shitdustry. YES,â he wrote in a Facebook post.
African Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has found love once again and we pray things donât go south as they did with his two public relationships.
Recall that after the SM boss broke up with his baby Mama Shatta Michy, he moved on to another beautiful lady named Elfreda.
Unfortunately, Shatta Wale and Elfreda hit the snag Ghanaians thought the musician was going to settle down with her because he promised to do so when he first shared pictures of the lady on social media.
Shatta Wale and Elfredaâs affair turned sour barely two months after Shatta Wale showed off their love to the world and asked his fans to address her as the new QUEEN of the SM Empire.
Ever since then, Shatta Wale has never talked about love again and even swore in one of his Facebook posts that heâll remain single for the rest of his life since most of the women who come into his life have their own agenda.
According to a piece of new information which is currently making rounds on Snapchat, Shatta Wale is currently dating one beautiful lady named Yvonne.
Because of his past bitter experiences, Shatta Wale reportedly pleaded with her to keep their affair lowkey so that social media users wonât use their âcursed mouthsâ to predict doom about their affair.
Another claim by an insider hints that Shatta Wale and Yvonne have been dating for the past 6 months now and the new SM Queen even spend most of the weekends inside Shattaâs mansion and drives his cars around town.
Yvonne is a fair curvaceous lady whose believed to be in her mid-20s. Reports claim she owns one of the biggest saloons in Accra and sheâs a known boss chick who plays with only âThe Big Menâ.
Below is a picture of Shatta Waleâs new sweetheart, Yvonne.
Famous Ghanaian social media commentator and singer, Archipalago has detailed his role in the rise of Shatta Waleâs music career despite the claim the latter rather shot him to fame.
Archipalago has hammered his contribution to two of Shatta Waleâs hit songs titled âKakaiâ and âBie Gyaâ.
His terms which he was famed for using inspired Shatta, he claimed. The musician after reaching out to Archipalago informed him of plans of capitalizing on his terms.
To this effect, Archipalago is standing up against the claim that he rather benefited from the Dancehall musician due to their association.
âWhat they say is just stories. I will never accept that claim, why on earth? Never in my life. Can Shatta Wale make me?
âI was part of Shattaâs rise. After the release of âDancehall Kingâ, his next hit was âKakaiâ and I played my role, and I promoted the song. After âKakaiâ he released âBie Gyaâ and that was my term. My name was in that song and I equally promoted it. Shatta Wale saw what I was doing on social media and hit me up in my DMâŚat that time, I was making waves. He saw my impact and hit me upâŚafter our meeting in Ghana, he told me that he was going to use my name in his song, shortly after, he released âKakaiâ,â Archipalago disclosed in an interview with radio presenter, Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM.
He further alleged that Shatta Wale owes him some monies for his use of his popular slang despite giving him 400 dollars some years ago.
He however noted that there is no bad blood between them as they continue to keep in touch
Although they have worked in pairs on separate projects, fans are yet to see these three acts work together or share a stage together.
For fans who want to see them perform together, there may be hope after all.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Tuesday, Sarkodie said that it is his dream to share a stage with his colleagues.
He told Andy Dosty he would like to be on an international tour with Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
âThat is my prayer, it has to happen,â Sarkodie said.
A show hosted by Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy would undoubtedly, be a hit especially since they have hosted sold out shows.
In December 2022, Shatta Wale filled the Accra Sports Stadium for his Freedom Concert, Sarkodie sold out the Grand Arena for Rapperholic and so did Stonebwoy for BHIM Concert.
Ghanaian talent manager, Ayisha Modi, who has worked with famous artistes in the country, has disclosed that a reggae and dancehall musician should have been contracted to work on the remix of Bob Marley’s classic love song ‘Stir It Up’.
According to Ayisha, rapper Sarkodie failed to do a better job on the remix of “Stir It Up,” which was released globally on Friday, January 20, 2022.
She named the dancehall musicians Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Jupitar as the best candidates for the job.
She was of the strong belief that they could have delivered an exceptional verse on the song Bob Marley originally wrote for his wife, Rita Marley.
“They have to redo that remix, Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up’ because it is not the best.
“The name Bob Marley and the song made for him doesn’t sit well with me. There are certain things which are not your field, don’t force it. This belongs to Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy or Jupitar, it is their field. To me, that remix should be remade,” Ayisha disclosed in an interview on Kofi TV.
She added that “there was high expectation for the song, but when you carefully listen to it, you can’t really market it. Maybe it is my perception.”
The official music video for ‘Stir It Up’ was shoot in Ghana.
It captures beautiful scenes and beaches of the West African state.
As of January 23, the video had garnered some 400,000 views on Bob’s official YouTube channel.
Sarkodie has been featured on a new rendition of legendary late reggae artiste, Bob Marley and the Wailers bandâs classic, âStir it Upâ, originally released in 1973.
âStir It Upâ, is a love song the late Jamaican musician wrote for his beloved wife Rita Marley, a year after their marriage.
Prior to the release of its latest rendition, Sarkodie who gave a hint about being a part of it disclosed that the project is the biggest highlight in his music journey.
The last time a Ghanaian artiste chalked such an enviable feat in the music industry was when âAyooâ hitmaker Charles Nii Armah Mensah better known as Shatta Wale got featured on âAlreadyâ, a song on BeyoncĂŠâs âLion King: The Giftâ album, released in 2019 and produced by Guilty Beatz.
The âStir it Upâ song which was released on Friday, January 20, and was re-produced by popular producer, John Kwesi Dosunmu-Mensah better known as M.O.G Beatz has muddled a lot of controversy within the showbiz fraternity.
The question that many are asking is: Which of these collaborations is the biggest achievement in the Ghanaian music industry?
One can recall that the CEO of the most prestigious music awards scheme in the World, âThe Grammysâ; Harvey Mason Jr. in an exclusive dinner meeting with Ghanaian artists during his visit to the country gave the artists the inside scope of how one can win an award.
According to him, to win a Grammy, one needs to live in the United States of America and be a part of the GRAMMY Academy.
Another significant point he raised was that winning the most prestigious music award is not about the number of streams, getting a record label, or sales but the quality of the song â the song must be well-produced.
From a Grammyâs perspective, Shatta Waleâs feature with Beyonce is the biggest achievement. Beyonce is more decorated than Bob Marley.
Though Robert Nesta Marley a.k.a Bob Marley was considered one of the pioneers of reggae, and his musical career was marked by fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, as well as his distinctive vocal and songwriting style, he never received a nomination during his life.
The Recording Academy failed to recognize his talents. He did, however, receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 after his demise in 1981.
The late Jamaican singer was also nominated in 2001 and 2002 for Best Music Film and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals posthumously, but he did not win in those categories.
With a total of 28 awards and 79 nominations from the Grammy Awards for her music (including her work in Destinyâs Child and The Carters), BeyoncĂŠ Giselle Knowles-Carter better known as Beyonceâ is the most nominated woman and the most awarded singer in Grammy history.
She is known for her boundary-pushing artistry and her vocal prowess. Her success has made her a cultural icon and earned her the nickname âQueen Beyâ.
Until a Ghanaian artiste features a musician who is more decorated than the American songstress, her collaboration with Shatta Wale would continue to be the biggest achievement in the Ghanaian music industry.
For now, Sarkodie can only be congratulated for being the Ghanaian artiste who was chosen to feature on the remixed version of the late Bob Marley & The Wailersâ iconic âStir it upâ song.
Shatta Wale has reacted to Sarkodieâs latest project with the legendary reggae artiste, Bob Marley.
Although the Jamaican musician is late, his team made a decision to release a posthumous version of his smash hit âStir It Upâ with The Wailers.
Featured in the remix, released today, Friday, January 20, 2023, is Sarkodie, whose verse has since stirred massive reactions from individuals on social media.
Shatta Wale has also shared his opinion about the project but in a sarcastic manner.
In what looked like mockery, the dancehall musician during a discussion on LuvFMâs Drive Time said;
âWeâve heard Sarkodie has featured Bob Marley. It’s so beautiful. At least weâve had someone who can feature a ghost, we should praise him.â
Shatta Wale said Ghanaians are still concerned about the âMeek Mill â Jubilee Houseâ saga instead of focusing on âSarkodieâs ghost feature.â
âWe are not even talking about that, its Meek Mill we are concerned about.â
Shatta Wale has been seen in several videos warning President Nana Akufo-Addo’s critics to be careful what they say.
Dancehall artist Shatta Wale claims that anyone who believes that the New Patriotic Party (NPP)-led government has paid him to speak on their behalf is mistaken.
Shatta Wale has been seen in several videos telling President Nana Akufo-detractors Addo’s to be careful what they say about his leadership style.
His remark relates to the American rapper Meek Mill’s music video, which featured footage of Jubilee House and received negative public reaction as a result.
Many faultfinders blamed poor leadership for the perceived blunder which they argued undermined Ghanaâs seat of government.
In one of the videos, Shatta Wale said no one knows what transpired between Meek Mill and the President adding that the President has the wisdom to run the country and also allow which guest to welcome at the Jubilee House.
In a video posted on his Facebook wall today, January 18, Shatta Wale said the NPP has not paid him to defend them adding that the last time he saw the President was when he visited him at the Jubilee House years ago.
âSome people are saying NPP has given Shatta Wale money to speak on their behalf because he is the outspoken person and the best person to do that. You are wrong in saying that because I have not received money from anyone,â he said in the video
Touching on other matters, Shatta Wale said people should stop wasting their time since God keeps blessing him despite the negative vibes.
âAnyone who has evil thoughts against me will fall and it is a fact. God is blessing me because I donât think evil of anyone so I always succeed,â he said.
The Dancehall King maker added that he made good money at last yearâs Christmas and any event that he wasnât billed for was because the organisers could not afford his price.
Africaâs self-acclaimed Dancehall king Shatta Wale has asserted that Ghanaâs music industry is inferior to Nigeriaâs.
He claimed Ghanaians are just talkers and not doers.
The singer-songwriter and record producer also asked local music makers to ask for help from their Nigerian counterparts instead of fighting with them.
Shatta Wale said these on Twitter in his typical comical, controversial and pointed way, Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
â[Itâs] better we stop arguing with Nigerian fans, promoters, etc., and ask for help,â he said.
â[I even] need [a] record label,â the musician who identifies as Ghanaâs richest confessed. âGhana music [industry] is a disgrace. Mek [donât let] nobody lie [to] youâŚâ
He bigged up âNaija [Nigeria],â and charged that Ghanaians are only talkers âwith no action. Yes, I have said itâŚâ
In the afternoon, the Johnny Just Come (JJC) hitmaker tweeted a follow-up saying he is only speaking the uncomfortable truths this year. He stressed his need for a record labelâs assistance and decried pride.
âThis year 2023 hard truth nkwaaaa [only],â he said with rolling on the floor laughing emojis. âYou need help. I need help. Stop that ego life. Enogo [it wonât] help you and meâŚâ
Since his 2004 âBandanaâ hit, Bandana who rebranded to Shatta Wale in 2013 with the release of âDancehall Kingâ, has predominantly been an independent Ghanaian artiste.
Ghanaian socialite Twene Jonas has shown how much he made throughout the year 2022.
According to the loudmouthed influencer, he was able to save $200 million while working in the United States of America.
In a video he shared online, Twene Jonas did not only brag about how much he has in his bank account but went on to show proof.
Twene Jonas maintained that his net worth places him far above ordinary Ghanaians, who are usually irritated by his rants and regularly attack him.
Twene Jonasâs bank account balance, which he revealed, was $212,564,324.71.
Twene Jonas went on to tell Shatta Wale to lambast for always bragging with his coins:
Tell Wale to stop !nsulting us with his small money 10 cedis notes and show us his bank account balance just like I did, I saved 200 million dollars in only 2022 but yet I humble myself.
Popular Ghanaian comedian, DKB, has dragged himself into a social media banter involving Kwadwo Sheldon and Archipalago.
The two socialites, (Archipalago and Sheldon), were seen trading verbal punches online after the former claimed the latter disrespected Shatta Wale.
In one of the posts, Kwadwo Sheldon wondered why Archipalago was trying hard to be a part of his fight with Shatta;
âWhy (are) you trying so hard to be part of the conversation? Lol, this is sad. Your time has passed,â he said.
This triggered Archipalago to boast of his achievements.
Archipalago described Sheldon as a beneficiary of his inventions, adding that he (Palago) was one of the few people who started making money online in Ghana.
âKwamudwan Sheldon say my time pass??? He thinks say social media be where I dey get my daily bread Whatever youâre doing now I done did it! I #invented that shit you doing now!Youâre a product of my school, as a matter of fact, youâre one of my #sons when it comes to social media,â Palago wrote on Twitter.
This, back and forth, however, drew the attention of DKB, who launched a direct attack on Sheldon.
He described the popular YouTuber as a slave; adding that he (Sheldon) is unworthy to be labeled âa sonâ of Archipalago.
âNot worthy enough to be your son, more like your slave or maybe something lower than a slave,â DKB defended Palago on Twitter.
Ghanaian artiste Nautyca has explained his relationship with singer Michy, formerly known as Shatta Michy.
Born Jeffery Kofi Gordor, he guested on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital, hosted by Nana Romeo, on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
During the Music Is My Life Concert organised by Tema-based record label Mimlife on Friday, December 23, 2022, Nautyca’s performance was rudely cut short, and he was promptly asked to exit the stage for Shatta Wale to take over.
According to him, though hurt, he obliged and got down. While in his car with his crew, however, he heard Shatta Wale, on stage, insulting his mother and calling him disrespectful and a fool who wanted to ruin the fun.
Reacting to this in the exclusive Class Media Group (CMG) interview, Nautyca said in all honesty he does not have a fight with Shatta Wale and so does not know the reason behind the attack.
He also detailed attempts by a person’s in the Reggae/Dancehall star’s camp to trap and harm him. He cited what happened to rapper Kweku Smoke. He again mentioned threats via cell phone messaging from anonymous individuals.
He was asked if, perhaps, the insults and threats are as a result of his relationship with Shatta Wale’s former fiancĂŠe, Michy.
In response, Nautyca said it is because he is currently working and ârolling with Michy and doing music, that is what even allows Shatta Wale to jovially write about Michy [on social media], to congratulate her.â
âSo the direction this is going, I think, itâs even in his favour or itâs for him,â he added. âSince I started walking with her [Michy], I have never said anything bad about Shatta and I even tell her that we need to have a song [with Shatta].â
Nautyca also revealed that he is in the habit of watching Shatta Wale’s Snapchat and he has noticed that when he and his music collaborator Michy go to perform, Shatta Wale makes comments on the App to big her up.
“He’d rally support for Michy because she is doing well,” the Tema-based performer said. “It’s possible that if I had not made music with her and taken her on stage, you [Shatta Wale] would not write these things [on social media].”
Nautyca indicated that, as a man, he feels he is only facilitating the reunion of Shatta Wale and his ex-fiancĂŠe, “the way we all we want it. Just as all Ghanaians would love to see it.”
Having said this, the rapper categorically asked the Reggae/Dancehall star not to think he has intentions “to take something from him.”
As it were, he further assured Shatta Wale that he has travelled several times with Michy but “never have I on any day, had any conversation with her apart from the music.”
Nana Romeo, at the tail end of the interview, asked if anything that has taken place or will take place in the future can destroy the Tema-based rapper’s relationship with Michy.
“Oh no, no, no!” Nautyca promptly responded. “Let me put it like this; Michy is my best friend.”
He expressed a belief that Michy loves him, which is shown in how she advises him.
Citing an instance where the singer and TV personality called him to take down a social media post, he added: “I feel, it’s a good friend who can tell you things like that and I’d do same for her.”
Romeo pressed and asked if he had any fears, given all that was happening.
“It’s music [we’re doing]. When the studio time calls, we’ll go and do our music but aside from the music, there’s nothing else. We’ll just stay in our corners [but] when the music calls, we’ll do it,” he explained.
Nautyca and Michy have two songs together; the hit ‘Ok’ and ‘Supuu’ are both from 2022.
Singer and TV personality Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, alias Michy, has advised her fans, especially the females, not to rush through life, making decisions in the moment, only to suffer unforeseen repercussions in the future.
Michy and her son, Majesty, appeared on Accra-based TV3’s The Day Show hosted by Berla Mundi, on Monday, January 16, 2023.
She was asked what her future plans are for herself and Majesty.
Answering, she said: “It’s a lot. We’re hoping for the best. Life has to be smooth throughout. We have life so everything is possible. I want to touch people so I am praying for the finances to be able to do that.”
“I have too many kids looking up to me, and I’d love to tell these young ladies, ‘Take your time!’,” Michy quickly added.
“Take your time with the tattoos,” she said, as if to explain. “Take your time with the piercings, take your time with the relationships…”
Asked how many tattoos she has, she reflected awhile and answered: “Three.”
Berla wondered if she regretted having that number of tattoos.
Michy responded with a story about how she was denied a dream job because of the images on her skin.
“I don’t really regret having them but at a point, I did Cabin Crew Training to be a flight attendant â I’m actually a certified flight attendant but you’re not supposed to have tattoos, or you can have them but not visible [while you’re] in your uniform,” she explained, and lifting her left arm, added: “But this is huge, you know.”
“Like I said, life changes at each point so we have to make sure that the decisions we make today, don’t affect our tomorrow because you really don’t know what’s coming tomorrow so it’s better to be on the safe side,” Michelle noted with an air of profundity.
“So take your time,” she stressed in conclusion.
During the interview, Michy revealed her son’s favourite song from his father’s repertoire is ‘Dem Confuse’.
Majesty, 7, is the son of Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall star Shatta Wale.
Controversial dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has averred that Ghanaian actress and TV show host, Nana Ama McBrown lacks presentation skills.
According to the “On God” artiste in an Instagram live, the actress was unqualified to serve as a presenter on UTV.
âNana Ama McBrown is an actress, Nana Ama McBrown doesnât know anything about presenting. Sometimes she can present and someone can counter her,” he said.
âLet us be real in this life, it’s stupid. You, people, are villagers. Stupid people. You are worrying Ghanaians, you are worrying Ghanaians. It’s nonsense. That’s why you all can’t stop me. That’s what you all deserve. Stupid!â he ranted.
He also pleaded with Fada Dickson to reconsider their objectives since he finds many of their shows to be absurd.
âFada Dickson I beg, I respect you and Despite so much because the innovations, the idea, the vision that you people have for this country is helping a lot of people.”
âPlease check your radio stations and TV stations. The programmes you are doing are nonsense. It’s nonsense, it’s stupid. We have boys from Legon who have some ideas. Let them bring it on board,â he added.
Nana Ama McBrown hosts United Showbiz programme every saturday on United Television.
âKwadwo Sheldon, you need to apologise to the president. If you are a citizen, that doesn’t give you the chance to be stupid. Can you insult your father like that? Your head like we are the world, Can you talk to your father like that?
âYour head like roll, roll, roll your boat. Can you talk to your father like that? Your head like a chamber pot. Can you talk to your father like that?…â he said.
He also stated that he would never change for anybody and that he will always be free to voice his feelings, claiming that the negativity in the nation is absurd.
âI will never change for anybody. When you are being stupid I will tell you you are being stupid. The negativity in this country is so stupid,â he added.
Hopeson Adorye has said people who discuss his wife, Empress Giftyâs, body and how she dances on social media, do so foolishly.
In an interview with blogger Sammy Kay, the politician encouraged people not to listen to detractors while citing Shatta Wale as an example.
He claims that when gospel musicians engage in activities like listening to secular music, they are frequently subjected to harsh criticism, however, Shatta Wale can go to church and perform secular songs, and no one attacks him.
âIt’s foolishness, don’t mind them. You like Shatta Wale, Sunday he goes to church, and you are okay, and when he sings, the Christian dances to them, but then someone who is a gospel musician doesn’t have the right to dance to his songs.
âI mean, that’s bad, I don’t understand. I visited a Pastor, and they were playing Shatta Waleâs song, and he was tapping his feet and shaking his head to the music. He loves the song. I mean is he a devil? It’s just a song, and songs are lovely,â he said.
He further added that, it doesn’t make sense that when secular songs are played, a Christian isnât expected to dance to it.
âSo, why will someone say you are a gospel musician, and you shouldn’t dance? If they play secular songs and you can’t dance, it doesn’t make sense,â he added.
In an interview with JoyNewsâ Richard Kwadwo Nyarko, the public toilet operator who is the eyewitness, explained that the robbers attacked them minutes after the mobile money vendor arrived at the scene.
Dancehall king Shatta Wale has gone completely bonkers on popular media personality, Captain Smart
Wale has released a video attacking Smart, calling him a very st*pid man!
The controversial artisteâs anger stems from an incident last year when he refused to perform at a show he was billed at in the Volta Region.
If memory serves correctly, Media General, where Captain Smart works, helped organise the concert in the Volta Region where Wale was slated to perform.
Captain even had Wale on his show to promote the event yet when the time came, the so-called dancehall king was a no-show.
Smart then went on-air to warn Wale to be careful about how he handles some situations, which didnât sit well with the âOn Godâ hitmaker.
In a new video, Wale said he always thought Captain Smart was smart but his behaviour during that moment told him heâs a very st*pid man.
Former 3Music Network CEO, Baba Sadiq has slammedShatta Wale for his comments during the Meek Mill saga.
Earlier, the dancehall artiste poked Ghanaians who poured out their frustrations at President Akufo-Addo, following Meek Millâs release of the music video shot at the Jubilee house.
Shatta described all those who have criticized the American rapper and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as villagers.
âYou wan go America go take pictures for White House. You say âyear of return âand your own black brother come shoot video as he return home you bore ..You are a villager trust me!!! âYou wonât solve your problem. You want to fight with president. see mumu âŚJon. Thereâs a better beef coming up. Forget president beef and letâs wait for the great beef âŚYou canât show Nana anything. so shut up,â he earlier stated.
But reacting to the development, Baba Sadiq who appears peeved with Shatta Waleâs statements labelled him as clueless.
According to the popular music investor, Shatta Waleâs statement were borne out of sheer ignorance.
âPeople like Shatta Wale always take advantage of things to spew their ignorance. We sit down in this country and a foreign rapper is allowed to desecrate the presidency and the essence of our statehood and you say what? The presidency is the seat of power, seat of government. That is where power is executed and you allow anybody to just walk-in. that massive security breach? They record that ugly song filled with sexual violence and put it out and Shatta Wale said what?
âIf the argument is that these people are promoting tourism, Ghanaian artistes organized shows this December, wasnât it meant to boost tourism? If these Ghanaian artistes including Shatta were even hosted at the Jubilee House and parted on the back or even given incentives for doing a good job, wouldnât that be okay?â he stated in an interview with AccraFM.
Michy has been single for almost 5 years now but in the eyes of some fans, she is married to the SM family.
According to the ex-girlfriend of Shatta Wale, despite her separation from the SM boss, some fans still tag as the lover of Shatta Wale. This she says nearly ruined her date as a waiter saw her and started screaming ‘paa paa paaa’ – an SM slogan.
Sharing her most recent experience during an interview with Kwaku Manu, Michy said âJanuary 5th is my four years anniversary of singleness but people still tag me with him“.
“Someone takes me out on a date and a waiter screams paah paah when he sees me. I have to alert him that I was brought out on a date and that I am not here alone. As for the name Shatta Michy I think it has come to say,” she recounted.
According to Michy, “there is nothing I can do to it. I have tried but people still call me by that name so I have left it as it is. We have broken up but it seems Iâm still the original Shatta Michy.â
Sharing what she looks out in a man, she revealed that âIâm open to anyone who is stable-minded, mature and rich. As for being rich, it is a must. I have learnt my lessons from suffering with a man. Iâm not towing that lane again“.
Michy and Shatta Wale broke up in January 2019 after the dancehall artiste proposed to her on stage at his Reign concert on October 13, 2018. Both lovers who have a 6-year-old son together accused each of cheating and domestic violence.
Ex-girlfriend of Shatta Wale, Michy, has stated that she has chosen the path of living a modest and decent life in order to protect her familyâs image.
Michy said Shatta Wale is one of the reasons she has chosen to tow this path, adding that, she dreads being used as a means to target the dancehall artiste who has a long list of enemies.
She made these statements in a recent interview while explaining that she has been able to stick to just one man in the period of four years.
Michy, added that although her relationship with Shatta Wale ended in a nasty way, she still upholds his integrity and that of their child, hence, her decision to live a good life.
âI donât want people having anything against my ex. He has a lot of enemies so Iâm very careful with my dealings. He has a reputation to protect. Iâve been with him from the start so I respect the hustle.
“Thatâs why Iâm not all over the place living a wild life. Jumping from one man to another. Someone can even take a video of our sexual escapade and blackmail me or him with it.
“It even happened to Tiwa Savage so Iâm careful. This generation is wild and everyone is doing everyone dirtyâ she stated in an interview with Kwaku Manu.
She, however, outlined some top qualities she seeks in a man.
âSince the last four years I have been single, God has shown me his goodness. So, what are you bringing? If I conduct some checks and balances and I see that what you are offering me I can offer myself, you donât stand a chance.â
Ghanaâs Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale on November 1, 2017, paid a courtesy call to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo at the Jubilee House.
According to Shatta, he was treated to a special âpresidential teaâ for breakfast.
âEi then if u ppl see the Tea and Milo dem do for me for flagstaff house dierrrrr That one am sure some of you will say why did they give me all the president sugar âŚCuz thatâs a presidential Tea,â read his tweet dated January 9, 2023.
The âGringoâ hitmaker made this revelation on the back of Meek Millâs backlash from a section of Ghanaians.
The American rapper was called out for shooting a music video at the Jubilee House during his visit to the president in December 2022.
This attracted an apology from the rapper and the deletion of the said video from his social media platforms.
Shatta Wale is one of the few who has defended the rapper and stated that he made no mistakes despite accusations of disrespecting Ghanaâs presidential palace and office.
Back in 2017, news of Shattaâs visit and meeting with Nana Addo topped social media trends and also made headlines.
Shatta Wale, dressed in a suit, stopped to pose for photos with government officials upon his arrival. The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, and the Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, were present at the time of his arrival.
On the official Facebook page of the president, a video captioned: Visit by the âDancehall Kingâ, Shatta Wale, highlighted the warm reception the musician received from Nana Addo.
Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, is among the few who have risen to the defense of American rapper Meek Mill, who came under attack for ‘disrespecting’ the Jubilee House in his music video shoot at the presidency.
Earlier this week, Meek, who was in Ghana for a performance in December 2022, published a video that captured him at the residence and office of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after photos of his meeting with Ghana’s leader circulated on social media.
The scenes sparked outrage on social media, with many questioning his audacity to freely shoot a video at the presidential palace in Accra.
A section of the public called for the heads of those who permitted him to shoot what has been described as a distasteful video, but on the account of Meek Mill, it was done on the blindside of authorities.
“I donât think they knew it was video footage when we asked to shoot; its a small camera and one kid,” parts of his tweet dated January 9 read.
In the rapper’s public apology to Ghanaians and the Office of the President, he wrote: “My apologies to the people if any disrespect! We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa ⌠What Iâm trying to do is more than a video, and you should see coming soon! My apologies to the office also!”
Ghana’s famous singer, Shatta Wale, was on a rant on social media for the unwarranted attack on Meek Mill, which he believes pushed him to tender an apology to citizens.
Shatta said to critics on Monday, “The apology you want Meek Mill has done… Now leave your phone and go work …your rent catch .”
In a separate tweet, the singer, who described Ghana as a village, added: “Meek Mill in fact, thank you for making the world see how beautiful and welcoming our country is …We love you including our president We are all your fans Forget everybody and do your ting!”
“I know what you want, The president should come and explain so you will use that to chop banku.”
Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has taken a dig at Ghanaians who have poured out their frustrations at Meek Mill following the release of the music video shoot at the Jubilee house.
Shatta who claimed to have seen nothing wrong with Meek Millâs conduct has asked Ghanaians to rather channel their energy toward other things.
According to him, Meek Mill, a fellow black man, whose visit to the country somewhat benefited the ‘Year of Return’ initiative, shouldnât be faulted if he took a couple of shots in the county to flaunt.
He has therefore described all those who have criticized the American rapper as villagers.
âYou wan go America go take pictures for White House. You say âyear of return âand your own black brother come shoot video as he return home you bore ..You are a villager trust me !!!â he wrote on Twitter.
In a thread of posts online, where he was spotted making a jest out of the issue, Shatta slammed critics for fighting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
To him, the president shouldnât be blamed for Meek Millâs conduct at the Jubilee House.
âYou wonât solve your problem. You want to fight with president. see mumu âŚJon. Thereâs a better beef coming up. Forget president beef and letâs wait for the great beef âŚYou canât show Nana anything. so shut up,â he added.
Background
There have been massive outbursts on social media after Meek Millâs music video recorded at the Jubilee house went viral on social media.
In the said video, the American rapper was spotted at different locations at the Jubilee House, from the frontage, through the main corridors, in the main conference hall, at a point positioned behind the presidential podium, and later in a sitting area rapping.
Some individuals who have been appalled by the development, have described it as a complete desecration of the seat of the president.
