He said something but the world did not pay attention to him. He said ” that Akabenezer, watch out for him”. Ei someone even calls me from abroad to tell me that I made them laugh so much.” Dr. Likee expressed.

He recounted how his entry into the movie industry happened by accident when he visited a friend on a movie set. To his surprise, the director spotted him and assigned him the role of a gangster.

  • Jobless liar! Shatta Wale hits back at Mr Logic over claims of threesome with Moesha Budong

Jobless liar! Shatta Wale hits back at Mr Logic over claims of threesome with Moesha Budong

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has responded to artiste manager and pundit Mr Logic in their ongoing exchange.

Shatta Wale, in a Facebook live video on January 3, returned to criticise Mr Logic for the accusations made in a previous video. Displaying a significant amount of cash, Shatta Wale accused Mr Logic of being a liar.

He refuted allegations of engaging in a threesome with Moesha Budong, stating that she was just a friend to him.

“Mr Logic is a liar, all he said in the live videos are all lies. He said that I had engaged in a threesome with Moesha Budong, That was a lie, Moesha is just my friend. I have friends like Hajia 4 Real, Moesha Budong and Efia Odo. You can’t destroy my career.

“You guys said you will haunt me. I would rather haunt you! All the things you come out to say are all lies. Everyone in the media knows how Mr Logic is. Do you want to play with Shatta Wale? You said your elders are advising you to calm down, at age 48 you have elders? Refer to them as your mobile money senders.

He urged his fans to refrain from following and paying attention to such entertainment pundits, emphasising that they contribute nothing substantial to the entertainment industry.

“You people should stop listening to stupid boys and girls on these radio stations! They are poor and jobless,” Shatta Wale fired.

The controversy began when Shatta Wale, in a Facebook post on December 29, listed eight individuals he believed were obstructing the growth of the music industry. The individuals mentioned were Akwasi Aboagye, Andy Dosty, Arnold, Ola, Mr Logic, Bullgod, Sally, and Abeiku Santana.

In response to Shatta Wale’s post, Bullgod declared his intention to haunt Shatta Wale like a ghost in a social media post. Shatta Wale, angered by this reaction, lambasted Bullgod and Mr Logic, accusing them of constantly begging for money and engaging in promiscuous activities.

Mr Logic, in his reply to Shatta Wale, denied the claims and asserted that he was the one who helped Shatta Wale when he was broke and homeless.

He further accused Shatta Wale of sending nude pictures to his ex-partner’s girlfriend, stealing the idea of “Dancehall King” from him, spreading false rumours about Jupita, engaging in a threesome with Moesha Budong, and mistreating his girlfriend, Shatta Michy. Mr Logic concluded by labelling Shatta Wale as a liar and a disgrace to the music industry.

This incident is not Shatta Wale’s first clash with media personalities. In September, he had a spat with industry pundit Ola Michael after the latter suggested that Shatta did not deserve a diplomatic passport due to his attitude.

Shatta Wale responded by hurling insults at Ola Michael and even composing a diss song aimed at him.

  • Shatta Wale describes Serwaa Amihere a “foolish’ villager

Shatta Wale describes Serwaa Amihere a “foolish’ villager

Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has stirred controversy by referring to TV presenter Serwaa Amihere as a “foolish villager.”

The cause of the verbal attack revolves around Serwaa Amihere questioning the lack of support from Nigerians for Ghanaian singer Afua Asantewaa’s Guinness World Record attempt.

Afua Asantewaa is currently striving to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, a feat that has garnered attention.

However, Shatta Wale took offense at Serwaa Amihere’s social media post, leading to a heated exchange and widespread discussion on various social media platforms.

Earlier this year, Nigerian Hilda Baci embarked on a World Record attempt, garnering significant love and support from Ghanaians. Various Ghanaian blogs extensively covered her journey, and social media users from Ghana rallied behind her.

In a noticeable contrast, the ongoing singathon by Afua Asantewaa, aiming for the Guinness World Record, has received minimal attention from Nigerian blogs.

Nigerian social media users appear largely unaware of Asantewaa’s impressive endeavor, creating a distinctive difference in the level of cross-border acknowledgment between the two events.

Serwaa Amihere jumped on social media to wonder why, writing: “Has any Nigerian tweeted in support of Afua?”

Shatta Wale was pissed over the question and descended on Serwaa Amihere and other Ghanaians raising similar sentiments.

    Listen to him below…

Supportive Shatta Wale holds hands with Afua Asantewaa as he offers prayers for her

Once again, Shatta Wale has ignited conversations on social media, this time with a video showcasing his fervent prayer for sing-a-thon contestant Afua Asantewaa.

In the footage, the Shatta Movement leader is seen holding hands with Afua Asantewaa in her performance space, offering words of encouragement, and sharing heartfelt moments, including a kiss and a hug.

This touching interaction, captured in viral excerpts from the event, has garnered commendation from netizens who appreciate Shatta Wale’s care and support for the contestant.

However, some have raised suspicions, suggesting it might be an attention-seeking stunt.

The sing-a-thon at the Akwaaba Village in Accra has attracted a growing number of Ghanaian celebrities expressing their massive support for Afua Asantewaa’s endeavor to set a new record. Notable personalities such as Sarkodie, Nana Ama McBrown, Sista Afia, Efya, Wendy Shay, Cina Soul, DKB, Salinko, Kuami Eugene, John Dumelo, and others have been present to witness the ongoing feat.

In a notable highlight, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the venue on Monday to offer words of encouragement to Afua Asantewaa, urging her to make history for Ghana.

Afua Asantewaa enters day four of singathon

In her quest to shatter the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon by an individual, Afua Asantewaa has now passed the halfway point.

She started the fourth day of the sing-a-thon with roughly 79 hours completed, more than half of Sunil Waghmar’s record of 105 hours.

Hajia 4 Real could potentially share a cell with her ex-bestie Shatta Wale when they face trial and sentencing.

Wale openly confessed to his past involvement as a fraudster, claiming to have accumulated significant wealth from it. The dancehall king made this startling admission during his Christmas concert while engaging in a competitive comparison with Stonebwoy and Sarkodie.

Shatta Wale boldly asserted his financial superiority over Stonebwoy and Sarkodie, citing his past involvement in fraud as the reason for his wealth.

Wale questioned his fans if they had ever heard of Stonebwoy or Sarkodie being linked to internet fraud, insinuating that his past involvement allowed him to amass more wealth than they could ever imagine.

This admission appears imprudent, especially considering Shatta Wale’s close association with Hajia, who is currently facing fraud charges in the United States.

Shatta Wale, in his pursuit of boasting, has once again engaged in reckless behavior, putting himself in the spotlight of the FBI just to assert his financial superiority over Stonebwoy.

    Best of luck with that!

Kwaw Kesse slams Shatta Wale over #PlayGhana controversy

Ghanaian artiste, Kwaw Kesse has publicly criticized Shatta Wale over his position on the #PlayGhana initiative.

In response to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture’s initiative advocating for the increased play of ninety percent Ghanaian songs on radio and at events, Shatta Wale’s derisive comments have stirred controversy. The Dancehall King’s mocking stance towards the #PlayGhana campaign has reignited discussions surrounding the promotion of local music in the Ghanaian entertainment scene.

He insisted that foreign music, especially Nigerian songs, had come to stay and would have more relevance than Ghanaian songs in the country.

In response to Shatta Wale’s claims, Kwaw Kesse lambasted Shatta Wale for his sudden shift in allegiances, citing the latter’s highly publicised social media rants in late 2022 over a lack of support from Nigeria.

Citing a video captured by GhanaWeb of Shatta Wale claiming that Ghanaians who supported the Play Ghana agenda were “fools,” Kwaw Kese accused Shatta Wale of being a Nigerian and questioned if he could be trusted.

“You can tell ur man is a full Jon. He was fighting Naija gidi gidi, today he’s a Nigerian. Senior Mumu,” he said in a tweet.

“U dissed Wizkid give warning shot all and after he come GH you go moa urself like tortoise dey beg for picture. Senior Mumu,” he further said.

Kwaw Kese and Shatta Wale have been at loggerheads since 2018. Their beef has consisted of social media banter and diss songs directed at each other. Despite a short break in 2020, the duo have been back at each other’s throats.

Shatta Michy drags Shatta Wale to Juvenile court

Former girlfriend of self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, has dragged the artiste to the Juvenile Court.

Ms. Michelle Gbagonah, popularly known as Shatta Michy, is seeking monthly maintenance and custody for their eight-year-old son.

According to her, Shatta Wale has “failed or refused “to contribute any expense towards the child’s medical bills unless he’s asked and consistently reminded of this responsibility.

Shatta Wale has thus been ordered to appear before the Juvenile Court.

This development comes in the wake of a hearing notice displayed on the Family and Juvenile Notice Board in Accra, dating back to December 21, 2023.

In a directive for Substituted Service, the order stipulates that the Hearing notice and the custody and maintenance form should be served on the respondent, who is untraceable for personal service. This is to be accomplished by posting copies of the documents at designated locations for a span of 14 days, after which this act shall be considered adequate service.

It read: “When the case is called and you do not appear and answer, the court will proceed to hear the case without you.”

The applicant contended that the respondent has “blatantly shirked his responsibilities as a parent” since she moved out of the respondent’s house.

The court has directed that the court notice on hearing should be posted on the respondents (Charles Nii Armah Mensah) instagram handle Shatawalenima.

The court has therefore ordered that the hearing notice should be posted at the Family and Juvenile Court at the former Commercial Court building High Street Accra.

It further directed that the processes should be posted at his last known address at an unnumbered house, East Legon around Islamic University in Accra.

Despite the recent launch by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Shatta Wale believes that combating the dominance of foreign music is challenging.

In a tweet, he mentioned that even a 10% focus on foreign music would overshadow the Ghanaian music scene. Shatta Wale pointed to internal conflicts and jealousy among Ghanaian musicians as obstacles to the industry’s progress.

“A country with so much jealousy when it’s not them in the frontline,” Wale stated.

The artiste mocked the pioneers of the movement, questioning why they aim to ban foreign music in Ghana.

Shortly after the Creative Arts Agency, led by Ms Gyankromah Akufo-Addo, held a press conference to address misconceptions surrounding the #PlayGhana campaign, Shatta Wale took to his official Twitter page to question the intentions and feasibility of the campaign. In his post, he asked why the advocates want to ban foreign music.

“How can you say you deh ban foreign music. Eeiiiiiii… We know how to Ban papa. Small time dem go ban Foos for kantamanto,” Shatta Wale’s post on X read.

In response to Shatta Wale, Samini asked whether it is improper for artists to request that more locally produced content be broadcast on their channels.

He claims that the only reason Shatta Wale is upset is because he did not recommend #PlayGhana.

“Bro Lol. Ghana has become a spotlight over the last few years and this is not ending anytime soon. What’s wrong with creatives appealing for more local content on our airwaves? Who does this hurt? So if it’s not your suggestion then it’s nonsense eeh lol. Shut up I beg” Shatta Wale’s post on X read.

In an open letter addressed to dancehall artiste, Bosu charged Wale to reconsider his participation in the upcoming end-of-year concert, scheduled for December 8, 2023, in Ellembele.

The event is set to mark the launch of the Ellembele Community Mining Scheme.

Bosu highlighted concerns about the potential environmental and societal consequences associated with the Ellembele Community Mining Scheme.

The letter underscored the well-documented detrimental effects of mining activities on community farms, water bodies, and biodiversity habitats.

Bosu thus urged Shatta Wale to consider the devastating impacts on the environment and communities, emphasising the loss of biodiversity, polluted water bodies, and destroyed farmlands resulting from such practises.

    OPEN LETTER TO SHATTA WALE

SEASON OF FUN, INSPIRATION, AND HOPE, NOT DESTRUCTION

    Dear Shatta Wale,

We trust this letter finds you amidst the boundless energy and creativity that define your remarkable work as an artist. The reason you are one of our favourite artists not only in Ghana but globally, Your music is loved and inspires many, especially the youth, in ways you cannot imagine. Your influence is profound, and that is not lost on you because of the huge fan base you command through the Shatta Movement. You bring Freedom and help the teeming youth find their Level in an age challenged by economic downturns, with resultantly high unemployment rates in many African countries. As though that is not enough, the global polycrisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental destruction is making coping strategies even more difficult, with youth in Africa doing whatever it takes to travel abroad to find greener pastures, if indeed there is really something like that.

Your upcoming and much anticipated end-of-year, explosive month-long concert is the talk of town. We are particularly in admiration but concerned knowing how far and wide your impact can reach. On December 8th, you are scheduled to give a mega concert that will also see the launch of Ellembele Community Mining. While the prospect of new ventures is always exciting, the potential environmental and societal consequences associated with unsustainable mining cannot be overlooked, particularly when many of our rivers and food systems are being destroyed.

The mining activities being endorsed are widely acknowledged for their detrimental impact on community farms, water bodies, and biodiversity habitats. The repercussions of such practises include polluted water bodies, destroyed farmlands, and the loss of biodiversity, creating a grim reality for both the present and future inhabitants of the affected areas. You have certainly witnessed the devastating impacts of the environmental and societal consequences associated with mining activities all over the country. We are therefore worried that, by supporting this, you will be contributing to the destruction of rivers and farmlands while depriving communities of investments to pursue green and sustainable job opportunities that do not leave negative consequences for the health of the youth, the environment or a healthy environment for future generations. While I understand the importance of supporting various causes, it is crucial to consider the long-lasting effects that such activities can have on our communities, ecosystems, and future generations. Everyone is feeling the impact of what the last decade of unsustainable mining has done to us. Everyone is now calling for a change, not more mining.

In light of these concerns, we implore you to consider the potential harm that could be inflicted on communities and the environment through the endorsement of such destructive practises. Instead, we encourage you to leverage your influence to advocate for more sustainable alternatives, such as the creation of green jobs for youth.

Even now, as we write this letter, thousands of youths from around the world are gathering in Dubai to demand their governments shift towards a green and just future, investing in sustainable solutions that secure the land and water for now and the future. Many Ghanaian youth are among them, passionately advocating for a change in trajectory. We got here by the century-long prioritisation of extractive industries in the oil and mining sectors. Leading to increasing global GHG emissions, deforestation and environmental degradation. There is a global push for change. Our government is here at COP 28, supporting the call for emissions reduction from fossil fuels and a halt to deforestation, forest and ecosystem degradation. Charity, they say, must begin at home, and that means we should also be moving away from our century-long focus and acceleration of mining industries creating jobs for a few but cumulatively destroying water and food systems, affecting millions of lives in Ghana. Ghana must reimagine and reinvent solutions for our youth and voices like yours can help shape the agenda. By championing initiatives that prioritise sustainable development, you can contribute to building a brighter future for communities while safeguarding our planet. Green jobs not only provide employment opportunities for youth but also support industries that prioritise environmental responsibility and conservation.

Your lyrics employ us to be heroes for our families and also “…so mi raise di banner cah mi love mi own motherland.” I believe in the power of your voice to inspire positive change, and I hope you will consider redirecting your support towards initiatives that align with the principles of sustainability and social responsibility. Together, we can foster a world where prosperity and environmental sustainability coexist harmoniously. Yes, we need to create sustainable jobs for the teeming unemployed youth. Community mining is, however, not the solution and we cannot continue forcing it on the people as we are doing now. Let’s raise heroes and banners that inspire hope for the youth while also guaranteeing a sustainable future.

We eagerly anticipate witnessing the positive impact your influential voice can have on the youth in Ghana and championing the green revolution in the future

    Shatta to the world!

    Sincerely

IGP’s intervention prevents joint booking of Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale at Ghana DJ Awards

Reports indicate that Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, intervened to prevent both of Ghana’s dancehall sensations, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, from being jointly booked to perform at the 11th Guinness Ghana DJ Awards.

The event, held on November 25, 2023, featured only Shatta Wale as the headline act.

Despite both artists initially being advertised, the decision to have only one of them as the headliner was reportedly suggested to the organizers by the Ghana Police Service. This information has been confirmed by Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Baah ‘Flex’.

“After the show i got the opportunity to sit with Mercury Quaye who is the CEO of Ghana DJ Awards and I asked him that, my DJ, DJ Wobete told me that team Stonebwoy would be coming so what happened? And what he told me is exactly what I am about to say, I have my worries about what he told me and that is why I am even talking about it…

“He said that it was an order from above, an order from above in the area of security and I am talking about the Ghana Police Service security I mean. It was an order from above that as an organiser he received a call from top authorities in Ghana Police Service telling him that he cannot put Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale on a show without their approval here in Ghana and that if he wanted to do that, he should have consulted Ghana Police for advice, for security tips, for the ways around it before he could do that. Because of that, they gave him an option to choose one of the two artists,” he recounted.

Mercury Quaye allegedly faced police threats of arrest if he proceeded to book both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy for an event without police approval, according to Sammy Baah’s account. The two artists have a history of friction, leading to various incidents, including recent news of them both booking the Accra Sports Stadium for events in December.

Shatta Wale eventually canceled his event, citing logistical challenges in setting up within the limited timeframe. Sammy Flex has expressed concern about the police’s decision, highlighting potential economic losses for both artists.

Media in Ghana is biassed against reggae music – Mr. Logic

The media personality, Mr. Logic, who causes a lot of disagreement and argument. Logic scolded the Ghanaian media for not giving enough attention to reggae music, which has made it less popular in the country.

He says the media favors reggae music because they think it’s not from here, but that’s not true. The media should work harder to promote reggae music.

The show biz expert complained that big musicians like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, who do reggae and dancehall music, don’t get enough attention.

Mr Logic spoke to MX24 in an interview with GhanaWeb, Logic asked the media in Ghana to help promote reggae songs by Ghanaian artists so they can be known world wide.

He said that reggae music is not appreciated enough in Ghana because the media is unfair. We think Afrobeat is from our culture and reggae is from another culture. It’s not from another country.

“Our best music artists,or our most popular music that we send to other countries, is reggae. “Artists like Shatta Wale and Stoneboy are our reggae dancehall singers,so there are quite a few of them. Why are we still prejudiced against reggae dancehall. This music is making us famous allover the world.

Heal so talked more about why it’s important for the media to support reggae songs by Ghanaian artists and how it can help the country.

I believe that the media and everyone should be more open to new things, like reggae music. We need to continue using that path. Someone asked if afrobeat and my piano could keep reggae alive. It’s still alive. Stoneboy is doing okay. “We will do it,”Mr. Logic is using reasoning to come to conclusions or make decisions.

People are still talking about how to promote reggae music, and experts want the media to talk about it in the right way.

  • Being a star is like building for yourself a prison yard , it’s difficult – Shatta Wale admits

Being a star is like building for yourself a prison yard , it’s difficult – Shatta Wale admits

Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale, who transitioned from dancehall to afrobeats, recently shared insights into his challenges as a celebrity in Ghana and how he manages them.

In an interview with the BBC, which aired on October 28, he expressed his commitment to honesty and authenticity when dealing with people.

Shatta Wale compared his experiences in Ghana and the UK, highlighting his longing for a sense of normalcy when he’s not performing.

He mentioned that travelling to destinations like London grants him the freedom to experience this, as he finds it challenging to move around freely in Ghana.

“I think I’m brutally honest; I want to be honest with people; I want to be real with people. When I’m off stage, I want to feel like a normal human so actually coming here to London is giving me that feeling because when I’m in Ghana, I can’t go to places,” he said.

The musician also discussed how his need to feel normal causes him to respond heavily to critics on social media, as it gives him a sense of being on the “streets”.

“Sometimes I feel like I want to eat fufu in a chop bar or a public place but I don’t get that and that’s a huge problem for me.

“So that’s why when people get at me on social media, I just go live and just speak to them like I’m on the street,” he said.

Comparing being a celebrity to being trapped in one’s home, Shatta Wale disclosed that he has to travel around and hold meetings at night due to the disruption he may create if he moves around during the day.

“It’s not easy to be a star; it’s like you’ve bought a yard, you’ve built a whole prison yard and you’ve locked yourself up every time.

“So people need to understand that it’s not easy for me. Because in Ghana, I can’t drive in the mornings or afternoons; I have to hold all my meetings at night,” he revealed.

Prominent Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale joined a chorus of celebrated footballers in showering praise on Eddie Nketiah, an English footballer of Ghanaian descent, following his remarkable Premier League hat-trick on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

In Arsenal’s resounding 5-0 triumph over Sheffield United, Eddie Nketiah emerged as the standout player, achieving a hat-trick with a display of various goal-scoring styles.

For his first goal, Nketiah flawlessly received a precise pass from Declan Rice, exhibiting a perfect first touch before skillfully evading the Sheffield goalkeeper.

The second goal saw the 24-year-old capitalise on a loose ball after an Arsenal corner, delivering a powerful strike into the top left corner of the net.

The third goal was particularly exceptional, as Nketiah unleashed a thunderous shot into the goal from a pass by Emile-Smith Rowe.

Arsenal’s two additional goals were contributed by Japanese fullback Takehiro Tomiyasu and Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira.

In a recent interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show, mother of the late dancehall and highlife musician Terry Bonchaka, Charlotte Adjetey, opened up about the support she has received from the renowned dancehall superstar, Shatta Wale, years after her son’s passing.

Mrs. Adjetey shared that Shatta Wale, also known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., sent his father to her home to provide financial assistance.

She expressed her appreciation for this gesture, acknowledging that although she used to see Shatta Wale in the past, their interactions have become less frequent.

She also mentioned that Shatta Wale had expressed his intention to visit her, even though it hadn’t materialized yet, and emphasized that she has no issues with him.

“Shatta Wale sent his father to my house to give me something. I used to see Shatta, but now I hardly do. He said he is trying to come here and he couldn’t make it. With Shatta Wale, I don’t have a problem with him… it is okay,” she said during the interview.

During the interview, Mrs. Adjetey revealed that Ghanaian songstress Shatana has also been offering her support.

However, she clarified that contrary to media reports, King Ayisoba has not been aiding her and has not visited her since the passing of her son.

Mrs. Adjetey expressed her gratitude for the yearly tradition of Terry Bonchaka’s friends coming together to celebrate his memory.

She noted that despite their financial constraints and her inability to provide them with assistance, they continue to organize these commemorations.

“Every year, his friends have been coming out to celebrate him, and I am happy with that. Even though they don’t have money and I don’t have to give them, they still go ahead to do it” she added.

Terry Bonchaka, a rising star in the music industry, tragically lost his life in a car accident on October 29, 2003, while returning from a performance at a hall in the University of Ghana.
