Trump smiled and nodded big when one person said he read two of the former president’s books, “The Art of the Deal” and “How to Get Rich. ” The man, who said some of his wife’s family members work for the Republican Party, said he didn’t think there was anything that would stop him from looking at the case fairly.

The charges are about Trump’s company paying $130,000 to his lawyer, Michael Cohen. He gave money to stop Stormy Daniels from telling everyone about her time with Trump. Trump said that the meeting never happened.
Prosecutors say that the money given to Cohen was recorded as legal fees, but it wasn’t true. The prosecutors said the money was part of a plan to hide harmful information.

Venezuela protests the police raid by closing its embassy in Ecuador
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro closed his country’s embassy and consulates in Ecuador to support Mexico after Ecuadorian police raided the Mexican Embassy in Quito.
Maduro and other presidents in a virtual meeting supported Mexico’s request to kick Ecuador out of the United Nations because of the raid on April 5th. But Maduro was the only one who said he would close embassies and bring back staff.
“Everyone has strongly condemned Ecuador’s move,” Maduro said. “No one is defending this cruel act in the world today. ”
Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa told police to go to the Mexican Embassy to capture their ex-Vice President Jorge Glas, who broke the law and had been hiding there since December. Mexico gave him permission to stay just a few hours before the police found Glas in a bedroom and took him out by force.
The very unusual use of force was strongly criticized by governments worldwide because diplomatic buildings are seen as foreign territory and should not be violated according to the Vienna treaties.
Noboa did not go to the meeting on Tuesday. He said last week that he allowed the raid to protect national security. His government says that Glas was wanted for his criminal convictions, not for political reasons. They also accused Mexico of breaking the Vienna treaties by giving Glas asylum.
Mexico stopped talking to Ecuador after the raid and told its diplomats to come back home. It wanted to get support from the CELAC meeting to help with its case at the UN and in front of the International Court of Justice.

21 people detained during Halifax pro-Palestinian protest
Halifax police arrested 21 people at a pro-Palestinian protest in downtown Halifax on Monday morning.
The police said that the 21 people who were arrested will be set free on Monday. They will also be charged for getting in the way, and some will also be charged for not using a sidewalk and not following the directions of a police officer.
Protesters were standing in a group at an intersection and sitting in a circle in the middle of the road.The police arrested 21 people because they wouldn’t go away after the police had talked to the them to try and move off the road. More than twelve police officers were also seen at the place.
According to A15Halifax, they were demonstrating to support an economic blockade for Palestine.
The Hollis Street and Terminal Road area is no longer blocked, but a group of 20 to 30 protestors went to the police headquarters on Gottingen Street around 11:30 am.

Man detained following alleged stabbing at Sydney church
Australian police say they arrested a man after a bishop and three people from the church were stabbed in Sydney. No one is seriously hurt.
The incident happened on Monday evening during a church service that was being shown on TV, according to the police. The Assyrian church shows its services on the internet.
A video on social media shows a man in black clothes walking up to a religious leader at a church called Christ the Good Shepherd. He seems to stab the leader many times in the head and upper body.

Federal criminal investigation into collapse of Baltimore bridge starts
Several individuals lost their lives when a ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.The crash is being investigated by the federal government for possible criminal activity.

The bridge fell down at about 1:30 am on March 26 because a big ship called the Dali stopped working and hit the bridge. Six people fixing the holes in the bridge fell into the river and did not survive.

The National Transportation Safety Board is trying to figure out why the really heavy ship lost power and hit the 47-year-old bridge. Last week, the NTSB said they have been looking at the engine room equipment.

Drug abuse linked to 25% of Youth deaths – Study finds
A recent study recommends making specific plans to reduce harm after finding that one out of every four deaths in the 20s and 30s age group was caused by opioids in 2021.
Researchers at the University of Toronto found that the number of people who died from opioids in Canada each year increased to 6,200 between 2019 and 2021.
They found that the number of 30-year-olds in Manitoba is five times higher now, in Saskatchewan it has almost tripled, and in Alberta, it has increased by more than two and a half times.
Scientists noticed that the increase happened at the same time as the pandemic rules made it harder to get help for using drugs safely and increased the possibility of dangerous drugs coming across the border.

“I used to pray to die for Allah, but now I just want to die and be done with all my problems,” he wrote in a message to the informant, as stated in the statement.
On March 21, Mercurio sent a private message to the informant again. He said he was feeling uneasy and frustrated, and he was wondering how long he could keep living in a humiliating and shameful state.
“I only feel motivated to fight. ” I feel a strong desire to hurt and kill people and make them scared. The message said that I need better weapons than knives.
Police went to arrest Mercurio after he sent a recording saying he supported the IS.

A man from Missouri has been executed on Tuesday for murdering his cousin and her husband almost 20 years ago. They were left alone at home and their four-year-old daughter was not hurt.
Brian Dorsey, 52, died at 6:11 pm after getting one shot of a sedative called pentobarbital at the state prison in Bonne Terre, according to Karen Pojmann, who works for the Missouri Department of Corrections. Over 200 women accuse US doctor of sexual abuse
Over ten years ago, Kristin Fritz had back pain and went to see a specialist recommended by her doctor at Brigham and Women as Hospital in Boston.
The appointment with the doctor Derrick Todd had a regular day for the 37-year-old woman from New Hampshire. But as Todd got closer, he touched her chest forcefully, she said, and it seemed like he liked it too much.
Last year, when the hospital talked to her about Todd, she realized that a boundary had been passed. She had someone with her.
“I feel really hurt,” she told The Associated Press. “I feel really bad for not doing anything when I knew something was wrong and I should have told someone. ”
The Associated Press usually doesn’t say the names of people who may have been sexually abused, but Fritz said it was okay to use her name. She is one of over 200 women and a few men who have joined a combined lawsuit against Todd in Massachusetts’ Suffolk Superior Court.
The lawsuit accuses Todd of doing unnecessary exams on patients, like checking their pelvic floor, breasts, testicles, and rectum. And there are several lawsuits like this from last year.
It is claimed that Todd, a former doctor at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, started mistreating patients in 2010. His job was to treat muscle, joint, and bone problems. Also, it said that many other people, including Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and Charles River Medical Associates, knew about the abuse but did not do anything to stop it.
“It’s a lot of people who trust Dr. [name]” William Thompson of Lubin & Meyer in Boston said that Todd and others had their trust broken for someone’s selfish reasons.
“I also wonder how this could have been happening at the hospital or practice group for so long without anyone noticing that something strange was going on,” he added. “But they let him keep doing it for many years to many people. ”
Todd’s lawyer, Anthony Abeln, said Todd will not talk about this problem in the news. He will protect himself in court.
In April 2023, Brigham and Women’s got two complaints about Todd from people who didn’t give their names. The hospital started looking into it. Todd was told he needed someone else in the room when he does sensitive exams. In June, he was told to take a break from work, and a month later, he lost his job. The hospital told the Department of Public Health, the state Board of Registration in Medicine, law enforcement, and his current and former patients.
In September, Todd agreed to stop practicing medicine anywhere in the country with the Board of Registration in Medicine. Todd has not been accused of any crimes, but the police have talked to some of his previous patients.

Thompson said the people who were hurt are as young as teenagers and as old as women in their 60s. The lawsuit claimed that Todd would earn their trust, and then become their only doctor, even though he didn’t need to do the exams he did.
One of them was a 33-year-old woman from Massachusetts who had a hard time finding a doctor during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was happy when Todd called to help her with the tingling and numbness in her arms and hands.
For more than two years, Todd was her main doctor and gynecologist. The lawsuit claimed that the abuse got worse when she went for her appointments, including having her vagina examined multiple times. She said Todd would often make inappropriate comments about her body, ask her to take off her clothes, and make sure she was alone during exams.
“It really affected every part of my life because it takes up all of my thoughts and affects my self-confidence,” said the woman. She reported Todd to the medical board after talking to her gynecologist and realizing something was not right.
Ever since I found out there were other doctors and Todd quit being a doctor, I feel much better even though I still find it hard to deal with. “It’s really hard just to think about work,” she said. “I’m really, really, really having a hard time today. ”
Regarding Fritz, she admitted that the experience will always be with her for the rest of her life. However, she finds comfort in knowing that Todd is already facing consequences for what he did.
“You were a respected doctor at a top hospital. ” You hurt and mistreated many, many, many patients. “Fritz said Todd is not right. ” To me, justice would mean that he can never work again. He should never be able to do this to women or any other patient again. -

An explosive device was thrown onto The Satanic Temple’s porch in Massachusetts when it was unoccupied.The bomb wasn’t found until almost 12 hours later.
The state police bomb experts made sure that the device was not dangerous anymore. According to the police in a news release on Monday, the Police dogs searched the area for more bombs and the federal agency helped. The FBI’s team for fighting terrorism is helping with the investigation.
The explosive device was thrown onto the porch at 4:14 am on Monday and wasn’t found until staff came at around 4 pm, according to the police.
